[0030] Fig. 1 is an overall perspective view of a transporting system 100 according to one example embodiment of the present disclosure. Fig. 2 is a partial enlarged view of the transporting system 100 including a scraper apparatus according to one example embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0031] As shown in Fig. 1, the transporting system 100 comprises a rail 130 and a carriage 110. The carriage 110 is configured to carry various tools. In the shown example, an industrial robot 120 is fixed to the carriage. The carriage 110 moves along the rail 130. The industrial robot 120 thus can be transported to various stations within the industrial filed. The rail 130 may comprises a track which is configured to engage with a guide shoe provided on the carriage 110.
[0032] As shown in Fig. 2, the track may be shaped to be a protrusion (for example of a rectangular shape) and the guide shoe may include a groove for receiving the protrusion. The guide shoe may include wheels for rolling on the track. During operation of the transporting system 100, debris, such as welding slags or other particles, may accumulate on the rail 130. Thus, there is a need to remove the debris on the rail when the carriage 110 travels along the rail 130. In order to remove the debris, a scraper apparatus is typically provided on the carriage 130. The scraper apparatus comprises a scaping plate 10 adapted to be fixed to a carriage 110.
[0033] As shown Fig. 1, the rail 130 typically comprises a plurality of sections. When these sections are assembled together, it is very difficult to ensure that the rail is completely flat during to assembly errors or / and manufacturing errors. The unevenness of the rail has great influences on the debris removal. The unevenness of the rail is desired to be limited to an acceptable level to meet the leveling requirements during installation. This, however, dramatically increase the assembly costs and installation costs of the rails and the scraper. According to the present disclosure, there is provided a novel scraper apparatus which can effectively remove the debris with reduced evenness requirements for the rail.
[0034] Fig. 3 is an overall perspective view of the scraper apparatus according to one example embodiment of the present disclosure and its partial enlarged view. Fig. 4 is a perspective view of a scraping plate included in the scraper apparatus of Fig. 3. As shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the scraper apparatus comprises a scaping plate 10 which comprises a bottom part 12 extending across the rail 130 and a mounting part 14 configured to fix the scaping plate 10 to other parts of the carriage 110.
[0035] The bottom part 12 is arranged above a top surface 132 of the rail 130. The bottom part 12 comprises a leading edge 122 configured to remove debris accumulated on the rail 130. A distance from a bottom surface of the leading edge 122 to the top surface 132 of the rail 130 is less than a distance from a bottom surface of the other part (for example, the recess 124) of the bottom part 12 to the top surface 132 of the rail 130. By reducing the area of the bottom part 12 used for debris removal, the scraper apparatus can be quickly installed and / or replaced, reducing leveling adjustment, reducing installation and debugging time while ensuring good cleaning performances.
[0036] In some embodiments, the leading edge 122 is arranged to be away from the top surface 132 by a gap. In some embodiments, the leading edge 122 is arranged to touch the top surface 132 of the rail 130.
[0037] In some embodiments, the leading edge 122, at its bottom surface, is substantially of a line shape. In this event, even if there are potential unevenness in the guide rail during its installation, the scraper plate can adapt to these irregularities. The jamming risk when passing over raised portions of the guide rail can be overcome.
[0038] In some embodiments, the scaping plate 10, in particular, its bottom part 12, is made of a material having a rigidity smaller than a material of the rail 130. For example, the rail may be made of steel. The scaping plate 10 may be made of plastic material, the high-polymer material, and the like. In this event, even if the scaping plate 10 directly collides with the rail 130 due to minor irregularities of the rail, the scaping plate 10 can smoothly travel along the rail.
[0039] The mounting part 14 may be various forms. In the shown example, as shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the mounting part 14 is a vertical part. Via the vertical part, the scaping plate 10 can be easily fixed to other parts. In some embodiments, the scaping plate 10 is detachably fixed to other parts, for example via screw fasteners. This is advantageous for replacement of the scaping plate 10. The mounting part 14 may include holes 18 for receiving the screw fasteners. In some embodiments, the scaping plate 10 is a one-piece member integrally formed via injecting molding. Thus, the scraping plate 10 can be made with low costs. In some embodiments, some ribs 16 may be arranged, for example connecting the mounting part 14 and the bottom part 12. This may ensure the structural strength of the scaping plate 10. According to the present disclosure, the scraper can be easily fixed without the need for leveling adjustments, greatly reducing installation, replacement, and maintenance time.
[0040] In some embodiments, as shown in Figs. 3 and 4, at least a part of the leading edge 122 of the bottom part 12 is inclined with respect to an extending direction of the rail 130. The inclined part can be served as a guide portion for guiding the debris accumulated on the rail 130 off the rail 130. The bottom part 12 forms an acute angle and / or an obtuse angle with respect to an extending direction of the rail 130. In the shown example, the whole leading edge 122 is inclined to one direction. It is to be understood that the shown example is merely illustrative and the leading edge 122 may take various other inclined forms. The scraper’s angled design effectively directs debris away from critical robot system components during operation, enhancing cleaning efficiency and preventing debris accumulation.
[0041] In some embodiments, as shown in Fig. 3, the bottom part 12, at its bottom surface, may comprise a lubricant storage chamber 124 adjacent to the leading edge 122. The lubricant storage chamber 124 is configured to store lubricant. Thus, during movement of the carriage, the lubricant can flow out of the lubricant storage chamber 124 to lubricate the leading edge 122. In some embodiments, the lubricant storage chamber 124 comprises a recess provided on the bottom surface of the bottom part 12. It is to be understood that the shown example is merely illustrative and the lubricant storage chamber may take various other forms. Provision of the lubricant storage chamber 124 can provide continuous lubrication to the guide rail. This design ensures sustained lubrication of the guide rail surface, reducing friction and wear.
[0042] In some embodiments, the scraping plate 10 may be lubricated. Referring to Figs. 2 and 3, the scraper apparatus may further comprise a lubricant assembly 20 fixed to the carriage 110. The scaping plate 10 may be fixed to the lubricant assembly 20 which is in turn fixed to the carriage 110. The lubricant assembly 20 defines a cavity for receiving lubricant. The lubricant assembly 20 may be arranged between the scrape scaping plate 10 and the carriage 110. In some embodiments, as shown in Fig. 2, the lubricant assembly 20 may be connected to a lubricant pipe 30 which is in turn connected to a pump. When the pump operates, the lubricant can be supplied to the cavity of the lubricant assembly 20.
[0043] Fig. 5 is an exploded view of the scraper apparatus according to one example embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in Fig. 5, the lubricant assembly-20 may comprise a felt 26 arranged within the inner chamber of the lubricant assembly 20. The lubricant within the inner chamber can be guided onto outer surfaces of the rail.
[0044] Due to the fact that the lubricant storage chamber 124 is provided on the bottom surface of the scaping plate 10, the lubricant on the rail can be collected by the lubricant storage chamber 124 as the carriage 110 moves along the rail. The lubricant stored in the chamber 124 can flows out to lubricate the surfaces of the rail 130 during the debris removal process.
[0045] In some embodiments, as shown in Fig 5, the lubricant assembly 20 may comprise a base 24 defining an inner chamber and a cover 22 fixed to the base 24 to close the inner chamber. The felt 26 may sandwiched by the base 24 and the cover 22. The scraping plate 10, the cover 22 and the base 24 may be fixed together by screw fasteners. In some embodiments, the cover 22 may be omitted. The scraping plate 10 may be directly fixed to the base 24.
[0046] Fig. 6 is a top view of the scraper apparatus according to one example embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in Fig. 6, the leading edge 122 of the bottom part 12 is inclined with respect to an extending direction of the rail 130. As shown in Fig. 6, the leading edge 122 forms an inclination angle α with respect to a line perpendicular to an extending direction of the rail. As the leading edge 122 collides with the debris on the rail, the inclination angle guides the debris off one side of the rail. This may prevent the debris from further accumulating on the rail. The cleaning performances can be improved.
[0047] According to the present disclosure, the new designed scraping apparatus reduces precision requirements for rail assembly and rail manufacturing, which in turn reduces costs. Also, the scraping apparatus can be easily lubricated and easily assembled with improved cleaning performances.
