Abstract
Description
[0001] DOG SAFETY BELT
[0002] FIELD OF INVENTION
[0003] The invention relates to a dog safety belt for ensuring that dogs can travel safely in vehicles.
[0004] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0005] Animals have become an integral part of many people's daily lives, almost like members of the family. Many pet owners travel with their pets and take them in their cars. Various needs arise for pets to be able to travel depending on their species. Like birds, animals that live in cages indoors also travel in their cages, while animals that generally roam freely indoors, such as cats, are transported in special boxes.
[0006] However, dogs, many of which are much larger than cats, must be placed directly inside the car. In this case, the inability to attach standard three-point seat belts to the dog poses a safety risk to both the dog and the people inside the car.
[0007] As a result, all of the above-mentioned problems have made it necessary to introduce innovations in the relevant technical field.
[0008] SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0009] The present invention relates to a dog safety belt designed to eliminate the above- mentioned disadvantages and bring new advantages to the relevant technical field.
[0010] The purpose of the invention is to provide a dog safety belt to enable dogs to travel safely in vehicles. The present invention relates to a dog safety belt for enabling dogs to travel safely in vehicles equipped with a safety belt locking mechanism, in order to achieve all of the objectives mentioned above and those that will become apparent from the detailed description below. Accordingly, it comprises a buckle that can be attached to the locking mechanism, a winding mechanism to which the buckle is fixed, and a belt that is wound into the winding mechanism and has a hook provided at one end.
[0011] In a possible embodiment of the invention, the hook is essentially a carabiner.
[0012] In a possible embodiment of the invention, the winding mechanism is configured so that it can wind and release the belt and hold the belt steady when it is pulled quickly.
[0013] In one possible embodiment of the invention, the winding mechanism is configured to have a locking element for releasing or holding the belt in place.
[0014] BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES
[0015] Figure 1 shows a representative application of the dog safety belt that is the subject of the invention.
[0016] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBABLE EMBODIMENT(S)
[0017] In this detailed description, the subject matter of the invention, namely the dog safety belt (10), is explained with examples that are intended solely to facilitate understanding of the subject matter and have no limiting effect.
[0018] The invention relates to a dog safety belt (10) that has a buckle (11 ) for connecting to a locking mechanism (21) located on the edge of a seat (20) in a vehicle. The buckle (11) is connected to the body of a winding mechanism (12) in which a belt (13) can be wound. One end of the belt (13) is fixed inside the aforementioned winding mechanism (12), while the other end has a hook (14). The hook (14) mentioned above is a carabiner as defined in the art, with a locking feature. The hook (14) is designed to be attached to a chest harness (30) worn by the dog. The invention relates to a dog safety belt (10) in which the belt (13) is selected to have the same strength and characteristics as safety belts used for humans in standard vehicles.
[0019] The invention relates to a possible embodiment of a dog safety belt (10) in which the winding mechanism (12) can release and retract the belt (13) in a manner similar to safety belt mechanisms used in vehicles. In other words, when the belt (13) is pulled slowly, it is released by the winding mechanism (12), but when it is pulled hard, it locks and prevents further pulling. When the belt (13) is released, it is collected inside the winding mechanism (12).
[0020] When using the dog safety belt (10), the buckle (11) is attached to the locking mechanism (21 ) on the vehicle. The hook (14) is attached to the chest harness (30) worn by the dog. This allows the dog to move comfortably on the seat as long as it moves slowly. The length of the harness (13) is generally chosen to prevent the dog from moving from the back seat to the front seat. In the structure described, when the dog makes sudden movements or in the event of an accident, the belt (13) is prevented from opening and the dog is kept securely in its position.
[0021] In another possible embodiment of the invention, the winding mechanism (12) may have a locking feature. In the structure described, the belt (13) is pulled while the lock is in the open position to achieve the desired length. When the lock is then moved to the closed position, the belt (13) remains at a fixed length. When the belt (13) needs to be shortened or lengthened again, the lock is released and the belt (13) is released.
[0022] In the possible embodiment of the invention, the buckle (11) for use with the dog seat belt (10) is attached to the locking mechanism (21 ) on the vehicle. In the winding mechanism (12), the lock is set to the open position and the hook (14) is attached to the chest harness (30) worn by the dog. This allows the belt (13) to be adjusted to the appropriate length according to the dog's height and the desired distance it can move on the seat, after which the lock is secured in the closed position. The length of the belt (13) is generally adjusted to prevent the dog from moving from the back seat to the front seat. In the structure described, once the winding mechanism (12) is locked, the dog is prevented from pulling further on the belt (13) in the event of an accident, ensuring that the dog remains securely in place. When it is necessary to lengthen or shorten the belt (13), the lock is released and the belt (13) is freed.
[0023] The scope of protection of the invention is specified in the claims provided in the appendix and cannot be limited to the examples described in this detailed description. It is clear that a person skilled in the art could come up with similar structures based on the above description without deviating from the main theme of the invention.
