The present invention provides isolated nucleic acid molecules encoding Hepatitis C core and p7 proteins and an immunogen. Also provided are expression constructs, nucleic acid vectors, delivery vectors and host cells including the isolated nucleic acids. Further provided are methods of producing virus-like particles (VLPs) using the isolated nucleic acid molecules and VLPs produced by such methods. Also provided are the isolated nucleic acid molecules and VLPs or compositions thereof for use in vaccinating a subject in need thereof.
