Description

Paper protruding cap sheet and apparatus and method of manufacturing the same

[0001] The present invention relates to a paper protruding cap sheet that is used for various packaging materials (e.g., shipping envelopes, courier envelopes, shopping bags, packaging boxes, etc.) and in which the packaging material itself can have a shock absorption function, a 360-degree folding (or flexibility) function, a waterproof function, and a heat blocking function, and to an apparatus and method for manufacturing the same.

[0002] Generally, conventional air pocket vinyl packaging, commonly known as "bubble wrap," features numerous protruding air pockets on a vinyl sheet that function to protect goods from external impacts. However, conventional air pocket vinyl packaging alone presents several visual issues that make it unsuitable for direct use in courier or postal delivery, or for product packaging. Therefore, packaging methods typically involve preparing separate packaging bags or boxes made of materials such as paper, inserting and attaching the air pocket vinyl packaging as a so-called cushioning material inside, and then placing the goods inside the packaging.

[0003] In this case, unlike paper packaging, plastic packaging does not undergo biochemical decomposition; therefore, there was the inconvenience of having to separate paper and plastic packaging individually and dispose of them separately during waste disposal. Furthermore, since an additional process of inserting and attaching a separate air-pocket plastic packaging inside the paper packaging was required, raw material costs increased, the manufacturing process became complex, and consequently, the manufacturing cost also rose.

[0004] Accordingly, the inventor has developed an eco-friendly paper protruding cap sheet, a manufacturing apparatus, and a manufacturing method thereof, by laminating two sheets of paper and continuously forming a closed (air-tight) protruding cap in the shape of a truncated square pyramid on one side of the paper, so that the paper protruding cap sheet laminated from two sheets of paper itself is equipped with a paper protruding cap, thereby obtaining a cushioning effect without a separate air pocket vinyl packaging material and causing no environmental pollution.

[0005] The present invention aims to provide an eco-friendly paper sheet with protruding caps, a manufacturing apparatus, and a manufacturing method thereof, wherein a sealed protruding cap in the shape of a square truncated pyramid is continuously formed in a first direction (e.g., transverse direction) and a second direction (e.g., longitudinal direction) on the paper sheet itself, thereby eliminating the inconvenience of having to separately insert and attach an air pocket vinyl packaging material as in the past, and the paper sheet can be folded freely in, for example, longitudinal or transverse directions, allowing for easy production of shipping bags and the like by folding the paper sheet of the present invention, and thus eliminating any environmental pollution issues as there is no need for separate disposal.

[0006] A manufacturing apparatus for a paper protruding cap sheet according to an embodiment of the present invention for achieving the above-mentioned purpose comprises: a first supply device for supplying a first paper on one side and a second supply device for supplying a second paper on the other side; a first roller and a second roller configured to interlock and rotate, wherein the first roller and the second roller are configured to interlock and rotate and press the first paper supplied with such that the first paper is formed with creasing and bending at regular intervals in a long straight line in the first direction; and a third roller having a flat surface, wherein the third roller is configured to rotate in contact with the second roller to bond the first paper with the formed creasing and bending and the second paper with the flat surface. A press device is configured such that on either a lower pressure plate or an upper pressure plate, a protruding pressure portion is formed at regular intervals in a second direction different from the first direction, and the press device causes the top of a mountain formed in a straight line protruding from the first paper to be pressed and adhered at regular intervals toward the second paper in the second direction, thereby continuously forming a sealed protruding cap on the paper protruding cap sheet.

[0007] A method for manufacturing a paper protruding cap sheet according to another embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: supplying a first paper on one side and a second paper on the other side; forming a curve on the supplied first paper such that peaks and valleys are wrinkled at regular intervals in a straight line in a first direction; thermally bonding the first paper with the peaks and valleys formed in a straight line and the flat second paper together; and pressing the peaks of the peaks formed in a straight line on the first paper toward the second paper at regular intervals in a second direction to adhere to the corresponding inner surface of the second paper, thereby forming a sealed protruding cap continuously on the paper protruding cap sheet.

[0008] According to another embodiment of the present invention, a paper protruding cap sheet composed of two sheets of paper laminated together comprises, wherein the two sheets of paper are formed by bending one side of the paper so that peaks and valleys are wrinkled at regular intervals in a straight line in a first direction, and the other side of the paper is flat and joined at a first joint along the valley of the one side of the paper, and the peaks of the peaks protruding in a straight line on the one side of the paper are pressed at regular intervals toward the other side of the paper in a second direction having an angle of 20 to 90 degrees from the first direction and are bonded at a second joint, thereby forming a protruding cap sealed in the shape of a truncated square pyramid on the paper protruding cap sheet.

[0009] According to the present invention, by providing cushioning and heat-blocking functions to a paper sheet through a sealed protruding cap structure itself without using any plastic material, it can be used directly as a bag or the like without a separate vinyl cushioning material, thereby completely resolving environmental pollution problems or waste separation issues. Furthermore, the paper sheet of the present invention can be easily manufactured as a delivery bag or the like by folding it, for example, in a longitudinal or transverse direction. In addition, for example, the exposed outer surface of the bag is treated with a heat-bondable waterproof coating layer, thereby providing a waterproof function itself, making it particularly suitable as a delivery box or delivery bag. Moreover, since it can be manufactured by folding it directly into a bag shape after applying a predetermined amount of heat without a separate adhesive, manufacturing costs are reduced and productivity is significantly increased.

[0019] Referring to FIG. 1, a manufacturing apparatus (100) for a paper protruding cap sheet according to one embodiment of the present invention is configured to include a first supply device (10) for supplying a first paper (1) on one side and a second supply device (10') for supplying a second paper (1') on the other side, a first roller (20) and a second roller (30) configured to rotate by interlocking with each other, with peaks and valleys formed at regular intervals in a first direction, and a third roller (40) made of a flat surface.

[0020] Referring to FIGS. 1, FIGS. 2(a), FIGS. 2(b), FIGS. 3(a), and FIGS. 3(b), the first roller (20) and the second roller (30) have a structure in which peaks and valleys are formed at regular intervals in the first direction, that is, a gear structure that interlocks with each other. Accordingly, the first roller (20) and the second roller (30) are configured to interlock and rotate press on the supplied first paper (1) so that peaks (2) and valleys (4) are formed in a long, straight shape in the first direction, with wrinkles formed at regular intervals.

[0021] Preferably, the first roller (20) and the second roller (30) are configured to be heated by, for example, steam, electricity, or water, so as to have a temperature of 100°C to 200°C. However, it is obvious that the temperature range may be changed as necessary.

[0022] Referring to FIGS. 1, FIGS. 2(b), FIGS. 2(c), FIGS. 3(a) and FIGS. 3(b), the third roller (40) is configured to rotate in contact with the second roller (30) to bond the first paper (1), on which peaks (2) and valleys (4) are formed, and the flat second paper (1') together. Here, unlike the first roller (20) and the second roller (30), the third roller (40) has a flat surface.

[0023] Preferably, the third roller (40) is configured to have a temperature of 100°C to 200°C. However, it is obvious that the temperature range may be changed as needed.

[0024] Preferably, the first paper (1) and the second paper (1') have a heat-bonding coating layer on at least their inner surfaces. More preferably, the first paper (1) and the second paper (1') each have a waterproof coating layer on their inner and outer surfaces, respectively, and the waterproof coating layer is made of a coating material capable of heat bonding along with a waterproof function.

[0025] Referring to FIG. 1, the first paper (1) supplied by the first supply device (10) is further provided with at least one first pre-roller (50) that heats the first paper (1) to a predetermined temperature before being supplied to the first roller (20). Preferably, the predetermined temperature is a temperature of 100°C to 200°C. This is to pre-melt the waterproof coating layer (or thermal bonding coating layer) formed on the inner surface and / or outer surface of the first paper (1). The first paper (1) passes through the first roller (20) and the second roller (30) with the waterproof coating layer melted, and the peaks and valleys are more easily formed due to the predetermined viscosity of the melted waterproof coating layer. Additionally, the apparatus further includes at least one second pre-roller (60) that heats the second paper (1') to a predetermined temperature before the second paper (1') supplied by the second supply device (10') is supplied to the third roller (40). This is to pre-melt the waterproof coating layer (or heat bonding coating layer) formed on the inner and / or outer surface of the second paper (1'). As the second paper (1') passes through the third roller (40) and the second roller (30) in contact with it while the waterproof coating layer is melted, the first paper (1) that is folded and bent and the flat second paper (1') are heat-bonded.

[0026] More preferably, the first to third rollers and the first to second preliminary rollers are provided with a Teflon coating layer. When the waterproof coating layer formed on the inner and / or outer surfaces of the first paper (1) and the second paper (1') is rotated in contact with the rollers while in a molten state, the molten waterproof coating layer may remain on the contact surface of the rollers; to prevent this in advance, the contact surface of the rollers is treated with a Teflon coating.

[0027] FIGS. 5 and 6 are operating cross-sectional views of a press device (200) for pressing and bonding a bonded paper (1'') [i.e., a paper in which the first paper (1) and the second paper (1') are bonded (hereinafter referred to as bonded paper)] in a first direction (e.g., transverse direction) in a second direction (e.g., longitudinal direction).

[0028] The above press device (200) includes an upper pressure plate (210) and a lower pressure plate (220), and the upper pressure plate (210) is provided with protruding pressure portions (212) at regular intervals in a second direction different from the first direction.

[0029] Preferably, the upper pressure plate (210) is formed as a mold having a protruding pressure portion (212) continuously formed on its lower surface, and the lower pressure plate (220) is formed as an elastic material such as polyurethane so that the bonding paper (1'') can be sufficiently pressed during the pressing operation of the upper pressure plate (210). More preferably, the second direction has an angle of 20 to 90 degrees with respect to the first direction. Most preferably, the second direction has an angle of 45 degrees or 90 degrees with respect to the first direction.

[0030] The above press device (200) causes the upper pressure plate (210) to repeatedly perform an up-and-down pressure operation toward the lower pressure plate (220), thereby causing the top of the mountain (2) formed in a straight line protruding from the first paper (1) in the bonding paper to be pressed and bonded at regular intervals toward the second paper in the second direction, so that a sealed protruding cap is continuously formed on the paper protruding cap sheet. Referring to the enlarged view of the pressure zone (A) shown in the lower part of FIG. 5, when the upper pressure plate (210) is pressed against the lower pressure plate (220), the protruding pressure part (212) of the upper pressure plate (210) presses the top of the mountain (2) formed in the first paper (1) so that it is bonded to the inner surface of the second paper. For example, the protruding pressure portion (212) is formed in a "V" or "U" shape, and presses the top of the mountain (2) protruding in the first direction of the first paper (1) toward the second paper (1'), thereby causing it to adhere at the second joint portion (6) of the second paper (1') corresponding to the top of the mountain (2).

[0031] Alternatively, a protruding pressure portion may be formed on the lower pressure plate, and the upper pressure plate may be configured to repeatedly perform an up-and-down pressure operation toward the lower pressure plate.

[0032] Preferably, the press device (200) is configured to include a press area (A) that presses the bonding paper (1'') by the interaction of an upper press plate (210) and a lower press plate (220), and a buffer area (B) in which the bonding paper (1'') is temporarily stored before being fed into the press area (B). Additionally, the press device (200) further includes a feeding device (230) capable of continuously and repeatedly feeding the bonding paper (1'') temporarily stored in the buffer area (A) into the press area (A) for a predetermined length. Preferably, the buffer area (B) can be heated to a predetermined temperature.

[0033] Referring to FIG. 6, the bonding paper (1'') is stored in the buffer zone (B) for a predetermined length or longer that is continuously and repeatedly fed into the pressure zone (A), and is transferred to the pressure zone (A) for a predetermined length by the continuous and repeated feeding operation of the feeding device (230). For example, as shown in FIG. 5, while the upper pressure plate (210) is strongly pressed against the lower pressure plate (220), the buffering member (240) of the buffer zone (B) moves downward to guide and store the bonding paper (1'') into the buffer zone (B) for a predetermined length.

[0034] Referring to FIG. 6, as the protruding cap sheet that has been pressurized in the pressurized area (A) is discharged, the insertion device (230) inserts the bonding paper (1'') temporarily stored in the buffer area (B) into the pressurized area (A) for a predetermined length. During the insertion operation of the insertion device (230), the buffering member (240) of the buffer area (B) moves upward and releases the bonding paper (1'') temporarily stored in the buffer area (B).

[0035] A method for manufacturing a paper protruding cap sheet according to another embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: supplying a first paper (1) on one side and a second paper (1') on the other side, each constituting two sheets of paper; forming a curve on the supplied first paper (1) such that peaks and valleys are wrinkled at regular intervals in a straight line in a first direction; heat-bonding the first paper (1) with the peaks and valleys formed in a straight line and the flat second paper (1') to each other; and pressing and bonding the peaks of the peaks formed in a straight line on the first paper (1) toward the second paper (1') at regular intervals in a second direction so that a sealed protruding cap is continuously formed on the paper protruding cap sheet.

[0036] Preferably, the second direction has an angle of 20 to 90 degrees with the first direction, and the sealed protruding cap has a square truncated pyramid shape.

[0037] More preferably, the method further includes a step of heating the first paper (1) to a predetermined temperature before supplying the first paper (1) on one side, or a step of heating the second paper (1') to a predetermined temperature before supplying the second paper (1') on the other side.

[0038] Most preferably, prior to supplying the first and second papers, the method further includes the step of forming a waterproof coating layer on the inner and outer surfaces of the first and second papers, respectively, wherein the waterproof coating layer is made of a coating material capable of heat bonding with a waterproof function.

[0039] FIG. 7 is a perspective view of a paper protruding cap sheet (300) in which sealed protruding caps are continuously formed when the second direction has an angle of 90 degrees with the first direction, and FIG. 9 is a perspective view of a paper protruding cap sheet (300') in which sealed protruding caps are continuously formed when the second direction has an angle of 45 degrees with the first direction.

[0040] Referring to FIGS. 7 and 8, a paper protruding cap sheet (300, 300') according to another embodiment of the present invention is composed of two sheets of paper laminated together, wherein the two sheets of paper consist of one sheet of paper formed in a straight line in a first direction with ridges (2) and valleys (4) formed at regular intervals, and the other sheet of paper joined at a first joint (5) along the valleys (4) of the one sheet of paper. Referring to FIGS. 7 and 8, the top of the ridges (2) formed in a straight line protruding from the one sheet of paper is pressed at regular intervals toward the other sheet of paper in a second direction and bonded at a second joint (6), thereby forming a continuously sealed protruding cap in the shape of a truncated square pyramid on the paper protruding cap sheet (300). Preferably, a pressure protrusion (8) may be additionally formed along the second direction on the rear surface of the other sheet of paper by sufficient pressure. As such, the paper protruding cap sheet (300) of the present invention is provided with a continuously formed sealed protruding cap on one side, so that it can absorb or mitigate external shock through the sealed protruding cap structure, and furthermore, the protruding cap sheet (300) can be easily folded around the first joint (5) and the second joint (6) (or the corresponding pressure protrusion (8)). Accordingly, the paper protruding cap sheet (300) of the present invention can be folded in various directions, such as the longitudinal direction, the transverse direction, or the diagonal direction, and can be used for various packaging materials such as courier envelopes and packaging boxes.

[0041] Preferably, the truncated square may be composed of a square truncated square, a rectangular truncated square, a trapezoidal truncated square, and combinations thereof. This can be achieved by adjusting the spacing or direction between the protruding pressure portions (212) formed on the upper pressure plate (210) of the press device (200). The upper surface of the truncated square may have a rounded shape. The sealed protruding cap of the present invention, having a square base and a rounded upper surface formed by the two side surfaces rising obliquely, continuously contains a predetermined air layer sealed inside along the rows and columns of the paper protruding cap sheet, thereby enabling shock absorption and heat blocking functions to be provided within the paper protruding cap sheet itself.

[0042] Most preferably, the two sheets of paper, namely the first sheet (1) and the second sheet (1'), each have a waterproof coating layer on their inner and outer surfaces, respectively, and the waterproof coating layer is made of a coating material capable of heat bonding along with a waterproof function. Therefore, when making, for example, an envelope using the paper protruding cap sheet (300) according to the present invention, the waterproof coating layer can be melted by applying a predetermined amount of heat without the need for a separate adhesive, and then the envelope can be bonded directly into an envelope shape. In addition, the second sheet (1') forming the outer surface of the envelope is provided with a waterproof function by the waterproof coating layer, and is expected to be particularly suitable for making delivery boxes or delivery envelopes.

[0043] Although the present invention has been described in detail above with reference to specific embodiments with reference to the drawings, the present invention is not limited to such specific structures. Those skilled in the art may make various modifications or changes to the present invention without departing from the technical spirit and scope of the present invention as described in the following claims. For example, it is obvious that multiple roller members guiding the first and second sheets may be placed at appropriate locations as needed so that the first and second sheets can be smoothly supplied while maintaining appropriate speed and tensile force. However, it should be noted in advance that such simple design modifications of materials or structural variations are all clearly within the scope of the present invention.
