The monitoring device attached to a urinary catheter analyzes urine flow, color, and pH to assess UTI risk, addressing the increased UTI risk in intermittent catheterization by providing real-time health monitoring and data transmission to external devices.

Abstract

A device for monitoring catheter-associated urinary tract health and a system thereof are disclosed. The device provides a passage through which the urinary fluid flows and a chamber, in which a processor, a memory, sensing modules and a transceiver module integrally formed with the coupling part. The system includes a monitoring device, a catheter, primary and secondary computing devices, a network and a server. The system is configured to provide remote communication between the intermittent catheter user and the health care provider.
