Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing a trench wall element in the ground, wherein a trench is produced in the ground by removing earth material by means of a removal device, into which trench a hardenable medium is then introduced in order to form a trench wall element, wherein at least two cables are tensioned between the removal device and a carrier device, the position of which cables is captured at least in places by a capture device, and wherein the position of the removal device in the ground is determined by means of an evaluation device on the basis of the captured positions for the cables. The method is characterised in that the capture device has an electronic camera unit, by means of which a three-dimensional image of at least one section of each cable is captured, said image comprising image data, and in that the position of the cables is ascertained by means of the evaluation device on the basis of the captured image data, and the position of the removal device in the ground is determined on the basis thereof.
