Communication method and apparatus

Abstract

The present application relates to the technical field of communications, and provides a communication method and apparatus. The method comprises: a first network element receiving first information, wherein the first information is used for requesting to discover a data management network element of a home location of a terminal; sending second information to a second network element on the basis of the first information, wherein the second information is used for requesting to discover the data management network element of the home location of the terminal; and receiving, from the second network element, second identification information of the data management network element, wherein the second identification information is used for indicating an address of the data management network element. In the present application, when the terminal is in a roaming state, the address of the data management network element of the home location of the terminal is discovered by means of the first network element (that is, a NAS service management network element of a visited location) and the second network element (that is, a NAS service management network element of the home location), and a binding relationship between the data management network element of the home location and the terminal and a binding relationship between a home location signaling distribution network element and the terminal are established, so that in the roaming state, subscription data of the home location can be directly issued to the terminal of a roaming location, ensuring the security of subscription data issuance.
