Abstract

An electric charging system comprises a charging cable (101) for supplying direct voltage (VDC) to an electric vehicle, a power converter (103) for converting alternating supply voltage (VAC_Grid) to the direct voltage (VDC) of the charging cable, and a control system (105) connected to an energy storage (111) and configured to control the power converter The power converter comprises a transformer (106), a first converter circuitry (107) for converting the alternating supply voltage to alternating voltage (VAC1) of a first winding of the transformer, and a second converter circuitry (109) for converting alternating voltage (VAC2) of a second winding of the transformer to the direct voltage (VDC) of the charging cable. The transformer comprises a third winding (112), and the power converter comprises an auxiliary converter circuitry (113) for converting alternating voltage (VAC3) of the third winding to direct voltage (VDC_aux) of the energy storage.
