AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing methods and devices for handling pharmaceutical containers in filling plants risk contaminating nested containers during the transfer process.

Method used

The transfer of excavated containers occurs in a removal area offset along the laminar flow, minimizing contamination by ensuring lifted containers are not arranged above nested containers, and using rotary tables to handle multiple nests simultaneously while maintaining spatial efficiency and reducing contamination risk.

Benefits of technology

This approach minimizes contamination risk and doubles the handling capacity of the filling system by ensuring offset transfers and simultaneous handling of nested containers, enhancing the cleanliness and efficiency of the process.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method and a device (10) for handling pharmaceutical containers (50) in a filling installation (18), the method having the steps of: - arranging unfilled containers in parallel rows of a nest (48), - supplying a laminar flow (16) to the filling installation, - positioning the nest at a removal station (66), - lifting a first row (52) of nested containers out of the nest and transferring same to a transport device (20), - lifting a second row (58) of nested containers out of the nest and transferring same to the transport device, - optionally: lifting at least one other row of nested containers out of the nest and transferring same to the transport device, and - transporting, filling, and closing the transferred containers, the lifted containers being transferred, in each case, in a removal region which is offset from containers still nested in the nest when viewed along the laminar flow.
