This component supply apparatus comprises: a production magazine that accommodates a plurality of pallets which hold trays having accommodated therein a plurality of components; a retaining unit that can retain a larger number of pallets than the production magazine; a replacement unit that places the pallets on a shuttle from either the production magazine or the retaining unit, and executes transfer and replacement; a placement unit that is provided side by side with the production magazine and / or the retaining unit so as to place thereon a recovery component; a placement unit moving part that moves the placement unit between a placement position at which a mounting unit places a recovery component and a take-out position at which a worker takes out the recovery component placed on the placement unit and which is in an operation space of the replacement unit; and a regulation unit that is provided at least in the placement unit and is disposed so as to surround a work space including the placement unit when the placement unit has moved to the take-out position.
