AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing reducers face issues with gear tooth damage or breakage due to repeated application of large load torques, necessitating the use of expensive high-strength materials to prevent damage, thereby increasing costs.

Method used

The gear ratio between the front and rear gears is configured such that a specific tooth is not subjected to a large load torque twice in a row, preventing repeated application of large forces and eliminating the need for high-strength materials.

🎯Benefits of technology

This configuration prevents tooth chipping or breakage, reducing the need for expensive materials and controlling costs while maintaining gear functionality.

Abstract

This speed reducer comprises: a rotary drive shaft of an actuator; a front-stage gear to which rotary drive force of the rotary drive shaft is transmitted; a rear-stage gear to which rotary drive force is transmitted from the front-stage gear; and an output shaft to which rotary drive force is transmitted from the rear-stage gear. A gear ratio between the front-stage gear and the rear-stage gear is set such that teeth of the front-stage gear to and on which a relatively large load torque is transmitted and acts when the output shaft rotates and the relatively large load torque is transmitted to and acts on teeth of the rear-stage gear are different from teeth of the front-stage gear to and on which a relatively large load torque is transmitted and acts when the relatively large load torque is transmitted to and acts on the rear-stage gear next time.
