Abstract

A forestry machine, comprising: a frame portion (1) extending in a longitudinal direction and having a top (2), a bottom (3) and opposing sides (4, 5), together defining therein an interior space (6); the interior space (6) being delimited at the bottom (3) by longitudinally extending rough-terrain-protection plates (7) and at the top (2) by a sub-system (8) of the forestry machine; a drive assembly (9) fastened to the frame portion (1) and having, outside the interior space (6), ground-engaging members (10) located at the opposing sides (4, 5) and, inside the interior space (6), a torque-receiving input shaft (11) drivingly connected to the ground-engaging members (10); an electric motor (12) arranged inside the interior space (6) and having a torque-providing motor output shaft (13) connected to the torque-receiving input shaft (11); and an intermediate gear arrangement (14) configured to transfer torque between the motor output shaft (13) and the input shaft (11); wherein the intermediate gear arrangement (14) comprises a gearbox (15) and a drop box (16), wherein the motor output shaft (13) is connected to the input shaft (11) via the drop box (16) and the gearbox (15), and wherein the motor output shaft (13) is parallel to and has an upward offset (y1) towards the top (2) and a sideways offset (x1) towards one of the opposing sides (4, 5) relative to the input shaft (11).
