Abstract

The present invention addresses the problem of providing a measurement device for a ship, and a measurement method for a ship, that enable stable calculation of thrust. The problem is solved by detecting, by a detection device, deformation in a structure fixed to a hull of a ship, the detection device detecting deformation due to thrust in a structure of a propulsion engine that is fixed to the hull 1 of the ship and that rotationally drives an output shaft and / or a structure of a thrust bearing. Preferably, the thrust is thrust of a propeller, and the thrust bearing is a bearing that rotatably supports a shaft connecting the output shaft and the propeller.
