Abstract

A battery according to the present invention comprises: an electrode body around which an elongated positive electrode and an elongated negative electrode are wound via a separator; a bottomed cylindrical external can which accommodates the electrode body; a sealing body which is for closing an opening of the external can; and only one negative electrode lead which electrically connects the negative electrode and a bottom part of the external can. The bottom part is joined to the negative electrode lead by a plurality of dot-shaped weld parts (41). The present disclosure makes it possible to achieve a high-quality cylindrical battery in which contamination with foreign matter is suppressed, and to achieve a cylindrical battery manufacturing method that makes it possible to manufacture a high-quality cylindrical battery in which contamination with matter is suppressed.
