Abstract
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for discharging a battery. The method for discharging a battery, according to the present invention, comprises the steps of: discharging at least one battery; acquiring temperature data of the at least one battery during the discharging; and determining an abnormal state of the at least one battery on the basis of the temperature data, wherein, when an actual temperature rise slope of the battery is greater than a standard temperature rise slope of the battery and the difference between the actual temperature rise slope and the standard temperature rise slope exceeds a preset threshold value, the battery is determined to be in an abnormal state due to such a temperature rise.
