[0004] The invention relates to a vehicle seat with a safety belt device which is designed to prevent an occupant from being pulled through a lap belt in the event of a crash.
[0005] Such a submarining is also known as submarining. Due to the forces occurring in a (frontal) crash, there is a risk that the occupant will be pressed into the seat cushion and thus slide under the lap belt.

[0013] In some of these solutions, the seatbelt is redirected multiple times, passing over the chest and / or pelvis and additionally below the thighs. When the belt is tightened, the seat section below the thighs is essentially stiffened or lifted, or the thighs themselves are directly lifted, thus at least reducing the risk of the seatbelt slipping down. These seatbelt systems are often very complex. Furthermore, there is a risk that the tightening of the belt section below the thighs occurs too late. Some solutions involve a separate webbing strap on the seat section, but this results in a loss of comfort.
[0014] Based on this, the invention aims to provide a vehicle seat with a safety belt device that reliably prevents the seat from diving in the event of a crash while simultaneously achieving a high level of comfort.
[0015] The problem is solved according to the invention by a vehicle seat comprising a seat section and a backrest section, as well as a seat belt assembly, wherein the seat belt assembly has a first belt system comprising a first seat belt with at least one lap belt, a buckle, and a buckle tongue for manual insertion into the buckle. Furthermore, the seat belt assembly has a second belt system with a second safety element, which is preferably designed as a second seat belt and is separate from the first seat belt. The second safety element has a seat section that extends transversely and within the seat section and, for example, passes through the seat section or at least through padding of the seat section. In particular, it is designed such that, in the event of a triggering event, the second safety element is automatically tightened and thus tensioned by the belt tensioner by generating a tensile force, thereby preventing an occupant from slipping through the lap belt. The second safety element is generally designed as a typically flexible and preferably band- or strand-shaped tension element, for example in the form of a band, rope, tension strand, chain, etc.
[0017] Tensioning and tightening the second safety element reliably prevents the wearer from slipping through the lap belt. It is important to emphasize that this safety element is independent of the first seat belt. This means that the second safety element is not connected to the first seat belt. Specifically, the belt tensioner allows the second safety element to be controlled and, in particular, tensioned independently of the first seat belt. Typically, the first seat belt also has its own tensioner, which automatically tightens the first seat belt in the event of a triggering event. Therefore, these are two separate safety devices.This measure also ensures that the tensioning of the second safety element, and thus in particular the tensioning of the seat section of this second safety element, occurs in a timely and reliable manner, and especially independently of the first safety belt. The separate design also makes the entire belt routing less complex.
[0018] Furthermore, it should be emphasized that the seat section of the second safety element runs inside the seat cushion and not on top of it. The seat section is therefore embedded within the seat cushion. It runs at least beneath a seat cover, so that the seat section is not visible from the outside. This increases overall comfort compared to a seat belt that runs above the seat cushion.
[0019] 2024344 Page 4 In this context, a triggering situation or triggering event is understood to be a situation in which the safety systems installed in the vehicle have detected the risk of an accident or an accident, in particular a head-on collision. A triggering event is therefore understood to be both a so-called "pre-crash situation" and a "crash situation".

When the seat section is guided beneath the upholstery, it is positioned below the seat cushion. This design is particularly advantageous for seat constructions where a foam blank is provided for the seat component, and where, in comfort zones, one or more upholstery elements are attached to this foam blank—especially only in defined local areas—made, for example, of cut foam. In this case, the seat section therefore runs beneath such an upholstery element.

Alternatively, when using such a padding layer, the groove is omitted entirely, so that the seat section rests directly on the padding. The thickness of the padding layer is, for example, in the range of 5 mm to 10 mm.

This runs below a seat surface 24, which forms the upper surface of the seat part 6 oriented towards the occupant. In particular, the seat section 22 runs within a padding 26. The seat section 22 and also, additionally, the anchor point 18 are shown with dashed lines in FIG. 1.

Vehicle seat (2) comprising a seat section (6) and a backrest section (4) and a seat belt assembly (8), wherein the seat belt assembly (8) comprises a first belt system (9) comprising a first seat belt (10) with at least one lap belt (10A), a buckle (12) and a buckle tongue (14) for manual insertion into the buckle (12), wherein the seat belt assembly (8) comprises a second belt system (15) with a second safety element (16) which is separate from the first seat belt (10) and which has a seat section (22) which extends transversely within the seat section (6), wherein the second safety element (16) is attached on one side to an anchor point (18) and on the other side to a belt tensioner (20) which is designed to exert a tensile force on the second safety element (16), such thatthat in the event of a triggering event, the second safety element (16) is automatically tightened by means of the belt tensioner (20) to prevent an occupant from passing through the lap belt (10A).
2. Vehicle seat (2) according to the preceding claim, wherein the seat part (6) has padding (26) and the seat section (22) extends within or below the padding (26).
3. Vehicle seat (2) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the seat part (6) has a seat surface (24) and the seat section (22) extends in a range between 5 mm and 10 mm below the seat surface (24).
