A conversational, natural language voice user interface may provide an integrated voice navigation services environment. The voice user interface may enable a user to make natural language requests relating to various navigation services, and further, may interact with the user in a cooperative, conversational dialogue to resolve the requests. Through dynamic awareness of context, available sources of information, domain knowledge, user behavior and preferences, and external systems and devices, among other things, the voice user interface may provide an integrated environment in which the user can speak conversationally, using natural language, to issue queries, commands, or other requests relating to the navigation services provided in the environment.

An upstream channel change for a cable modem in a data-over-cable system is achieved via an upstream bandwith allocation map message sent from a cable modem termination system to cable modems, instead of requiring an exchange of upstream channel change request and reply messages. The techniques include extracting metadata that describes one or more items, the data for which is in the source database, where the one or more items include at least one of the structures described above. The data for each item resides in a data file associated with the source database. After the exporting, a database server that manages the target database is provided access to an incorporated data file, where the incorporated data file is the data file or a copy thereof.

A method for delivering RF energy to living tissue includes the steps of extending a guidewire to a tissue treatment site in a body. A controllable stiffness catheter is provided with a stiffness device and a temperature-changing device. The stiffness device is in a stiff state below a given temperature and in a soft state above the given temperature. While supplying power to the temperature-changing device, the catheter is threaded along the guidewire up to the treatment site in the flexible state of the catheter. Power is removed from the temperature-changing device to change stiffness of the stiffness device to the stiff state without straightening the catheter. The RF energy supply device is physically contacted with the treatment site and RF energy is delivered to the treatment site from the RF energy supply device.

A programmable agent and method for managing prefetch queues provide dynamically configurable handling of priorities in a prefetching subsystem for providing look-ahead memory loads in a computer system. When it's queues are at capacity an agent handling prefetches from memory either ignores new requests, forces the new requests to retry or cancels a pending request in order to perform the new request. The behavior can be adjusted under program control by programming a register, or the control may be coupled to a load pattern analyzer. In addition, the behavior with respect to new requests can be set to different types depending on a phase of a pending request.

The present invention is a method and system for efficiently converting an alternating current (AC) supply to a direct current (DC) output. A power supply in accordance with the present invention may employ variable frequency constant on-time converters whereby switching losses of the converters are approximately proportional with a switching frequency, causing the power supply to be more efficient at light loads. An internal combustion engine has a plurality of cylinders, and each cylinder has at least one first and one second exhaust port with associated respective first and second exhaust valves. At least one first and one second exhaust manifold are flow-connected to the respective first and second exhaust ports. A turbo unit for supercharging the charge air delivered to the cylinders comprises at least one first and one second exhaust gas turbine respectively flow connected to the first and the second exhaust manifolds. An exhaust gas chamber flow-connects the first and the second exhaust manifolds upstream of the exhaust gas turbines. The first and second exhaust valves can be deactivated/activated during operation. A throttle valve in the exhaust gas chamber may assume a closed position in order to separate the first and the second exhaust manifolds. A method of operating includes opening and closing different valves at different engine speeds.

An improved system and method for loading records into a partitioned database table is provided. A translation of records may be generated from a set of source partitions to a set of target partitions by generating a bipartite graph, determining a maximal matching using dynamic programming for a chain of nodes remaining in the bipartite graph after removing singleton edges, and generating a maximal matching after adding back the singleton edges for translation of records from the set of source partitions to the set of target partitions. The partition translation may be executed by traversing from top to bottom the set of source partitions and the set of target partitions in record key order to generate an optimal sequence of operations to transfer the records from the set of source partitions to the set of target partitions.

A system that can be assembled at a well drilling or other site for storing bulk material such as sand includes a plurality of storage bins configured as trailers, a skid that includes a lower conveyor, a bucket elevator and a top conveyor system. At the site, the bins and the elevator are vertically oriented and stood on the skid, resulting in discharge outlets on the bins becoming positioned over the lower conveyor. The top conveyor is installed on top of the bins. In operation, the elevator lifts the material and discharges it onto the top conveyor system. The top conveyor system discharges the material into the bins for storage. The stored material is controllably discharged from the discharge outlets of the bins onto the lower conveyor from which the material is conveyed to one end of the skid for transport to a new location or directly into a blender.

When a home agent (HA) consists of one or more servers with each server being assigned a Mobile IPv6 Home-Agents Anycast Address, a nearby router does not store the link-layer addresses with respect to the Anycast addresses of the servers in its neighbor cache. Consequently, load balancing between or among the servers could not be performed. To solve this problem, in one example, an HA is provided that comprises a representative HA and distributed HAs. The representative HA is assigned an Anycast Address. The representative HA includes a collecting device configured to collect HA lists and load information from the distributed HAs. The representative HA dynamically creates a HA list and sends the HA list to a mobile node (MN). The MN registers its current location with an HA from the HA list included in a Home Agent Address Discovery Reply message. The load on the HA can then be shared by the servers constituting the HA.
