Technical Field
[0001] This invention relates to a topical ointment for mud moxibustion and its preparation method, belonging to the field of traditional Chinese medicine technology. Background Technology
[0002] Mud moxibustion is a treatment method that uses hot mud to stimulate specific parts of the body to treat and prevent diseases. It is an extension of the ancient wax moxibustion therapy. Based on the principles of meridian theory and modern medicine, and in accordance with molecular medicine theory, biomedical holographic theory, and the traditional Chinese medicine theories of treating internal diseases externally and treating different diseases with the same method, it safely and effectively removes wind, cold, dampness, heat, and toxins from the body by stimulating acupoints, unblocking meridians, and conducting medicinal heat. This achieves the effects of treating diseases, preventing diseases, strengthening the body's foundation, promoting metabolism, and enhancing the body's immunity.
[0003] Mud moxibustion has strong flexibility and can be applied to any part of the body. It has good curative effect and fast results. It has multiple effects such as promoting blood circulation, anti-inflammation, and dispelling wind and dampness. It can quickly open up the body's meridians and expel wind, cold and dampness from the body. It is gentle on the skin.
[0004] A search revealed that existing mud moxibustion plasters are mostly used to treat pain-related occupational diseases (such as cervical spondylosis, frozen shoulder, lumbar disc herniation, etc.) or rheumatic diseases, such as: Patent application CN101897838A discloses a hot compress mud moxibustion device for external use on the human body and its application method. [0006] Although the mud moxibustion ointment described in the above invention has a good therapeutic effect, the herbal formula is relatively complex. Summary of the Invention
[0007] The technical problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a simple herbal formula for external application of mud moxibustion with good effects of dispelling wind and cold, clearing meridians and relieving pain, and its preparation method.
[0008] To solve the above-mentioned technical problems, the present invention adopts the following technical solution: A topical ointment for mud moxibustion is made from the following components in the indicated weight ratios: 15-30g of traditional Chinese medicine extract, 40-60g of mineral mud, 5-15g of beeswax, 2-8g of penetration enhancer, 1-5g of stabilizer, and 1-3g of dipotassium glycyrrhizate; among which, The herbal extract is prepared by the following method: *Smilax china* (or *Smilax china*), *Smilax china*, *Smilax china*, *Artemisia argyi*, and *Clematis chinensis* are weighed according to a weight ratio of 6-10:4-8:3-7:1-6:1-5. The herbs are pulverized, soaked in water, decocted, filtered, and the filtrate is concentrated to an extract with a relative density of 1.1-1.2 at 60°C.
[0009] Furthermore, in preparing traditional Chinese medicine extracts, the herbs are typically pulverized to 80-120 mesh, then soaked in water equivalent to 8-12 times their weight for 1-2 hours before being decocted. The decoction is performed over a low heat, and can be repeated 1-3 times, with each decoction preferably lasting 1-2 hours. The filtrates are collected, combined, and then concentrated to an extract with a relative density of 1.1-1.2 at 60°C.
[0010] In preparing traditional Chinese medicine extracts, the preferred ratio of each herb by weight is: 8 parts of *Gnaphalium affine*, 6 parts of *Gnaphalium affine*, 5 parts of *Gnaphalium affine*, 4 parts of *Artemisia argyi*, and 3 parts of *Hedyotis diffusa*; or 8 parts of *Gnaphalium affine*, 6 parts of *Gnaphalium affine*, 5 parts of *Gnaphalium affine*, 4 parts of *Artemisia argyi*, and 3 parts of *Hedyotis diffusa*.
[0011] Furthermore, the mineral mud can be mineral black mud, mineral yellow mud, or volcanic mud, etc. The mineral mud is sterilized (e.g., sterilized at 100~120℃ for 30~60 minutes) and sieved (100~200 mesh) before use.
[0012] Furthermore, the penetration enhancer can be a conventional choice from the prior art, such as azone, ethanol, menthol, or hyaluronic acid.
[0013] Furthermore, the stabilizer can be a conventional choice from the prior art, such as tocopherol or phytosterol.
[0014] Furthermore, the external application ointment for mud moxibustion is made from the following components in the indicated weight ratios: 20-30 parts of traditional Chinese medicine extract, 45-55 parts of mineral mud, 8-12 parts of beeswax, 3-6 parts of penetration enhancer, 2-4 parts of stabilizer, and 1-2 parts of dipotassium glycyrrhizate.
[0015] The preparation method of the external application ointment for mud moxibustion according to the present invention includes the following steps: 1) Weigh out the following herbs according to the weight ratio of 6~10:4~8:3~7:1~6:1~5:9-section wind (or small drill), zouma tai, da zuan, mugwort leaf and clematis root, crush them, soak them in water, decoct them, filter them, and concentrate the filtrate to an extract with a relative density of 1.1~1.2 at 60℃ to obtain the Chinese herbal extract. 2) Weigh out each component according to the above-mentioned proportions for the external application ointment for mud moxibustion, and set aside; 3) Heat the weighed beeswax until it melts, add mineral mud, mix well, then add traditional Chinese medicine extract, penetration enhancer and stabilizer at 50~60℃, mix well, then add dipotassium glycyrrhizate and stir well to obtain the external application ointment for mud moxibustion.
[0016] When using the mud moxibustion ointment described in this invention, heat the ointment to 45-50℃ (molten state), spread it evenly on the area to be treated (the thickness of the ointment should be 0.5-1cm), fix it with plastic wrap, and remove the ointment after 40-60 minutes. Furthermore, after applying the ointment to the area to be treated, massage techniques such as pushing, kneading, and acupressure can be applied to the surface of the ointment, which is more beneficial for relieving pain and other symptoms.
[0017] The external application ointment for mud moxibustion described in this invention begins to show effects after 1 to 3 days of use, and 10 days constitutes one course of treatment. For milder symptoms, 1 to 3 courses of treatment are usually sufficient to eliminate or effectively relieve the symptoms.
[0018] The mechanism of action of this invention: *Gnaphalium affine* or *Gnaphalium affine* dispels wind, invigorates blood circulation, and disperses stagnation; *Gnaphalium affine*, *Gnaphalium affine*, and *Gnaphalium affine* dispel wind and dampness, relax muscles and tendons, promote qi circulation, and relieve pain; *Artemisia argyi* acts as an auxiliary agent, warming the meridians, stopping bleeding, dispelling cold, and relieving pain; mineral mud invigorates blood circulation and removes blood stasis; beeswax detoxifies and relieves pain; the combined use of these ingredients achieves the effects of dispelling wind and dampness, warming the meridians and dispelling cold, invigorating blood circulation, removing blood stasis, promoting qi circulation, and relieving pain. The beneficial effects of this invention are: the ointment described in this invention has excellent effects on invigorating blood circulation, dispelling wind and dampness, and relieving pain caused by various reasons, and has a longer duration of warmth (65-75 minutes), can be conveniently applied to different parts of the body, and has an extremely low allergy rate. The formula of the traditional Chinese medicine extract is carefully developed from clinically proven prescriptions.
