[0001] The invention is intended to enable the simultaneous firing of several rifles of a caliber below 6 mm in parallel to each other in order to combat low-flying drones in a cost-effective manner.
[0002] The combination of individual guns, particularly into quadruple-barreled configurations, has been known for a long time. This allows a single gunner to deliver virtually four times the firepower of a single-barreled weapon. Currently, military drones are gaining importance and are being countered in combat by projectiles of almost all available calibers, including rockets. However, due to historical reasons, only calibers larger than 7 mm have been used extensively for this purpose. The cost of each shot increases with caliber size, up to and including rockets, in a manner that is almost disproportionate to the price of the targeted drone.

Time-consuming testing procedures, otherwise required for new weapons, should be largely eliminated. With sound business planning, development and procurement costs, and the associated budget adjustments, could be almost entirely avoided. This should result in rapid weapon availability and optimal financing conditions. Furthermore, it reduces environmental impact by eliminating the need for new production or the storage and destruction of rifles that would otherwise be discarded.
