Abstract

This invention presents a novel method of Nano Clay production directly from minerals for the application as 8 modifier [በ self-healing asphalt formulations. Which will address the critical issue of road surface deterioration due to cracking and environmental stresses? By incorporating specific types of Nano Clay, such as montmorillonite or kaolinite, into the asphalt binder, the resulting composite material exhibits enhanced mechanical properties and self-healing capabilities. The Nano Clay particles facilitate the healing process by improving the thermal and moisture sensitivity of the asphalt, enabling it to autonomously repair microcracks by moving swiftly the area needed. This innovative approach not only prolongs the lifespan of road surfaces but also reduces maintenance costs and enhances overall performance. The use of Nano clay in selfhealing asphalt represents a sustainable advancement in civil engineering, contributing to more resilient infrastructure and promoting environmentally friendly construction practices.
