Solution Tube Warmer

Abstract

This simple warmer warms solutions administered via intravenous or feeding tubes to humans or animals such as dogs and cats to bring them as close to body temperature as possible just before administration. Heating gel packs, preheated in a microwave oven or other device, are stored in two heating gel storage compartments. The intravenous or feeding tube is secured to tube fixing points A, B, B, and A as shown in the "Reference Plan View of Tube Attachment," then folded and secured with hook-and-loop fasteners. The secured tube is sandwiched between two heating gel packs, warming the solution passing through the tube. Because the intravenous or nutritional solution is heated and delivered closer to the patient or animal, it prevents the solution from cooling. It can be placed on a bed or examination table. Strap attachment hardware is attached to both the top and bottom ends of the two heating gel storage compartments. A strap or a belt with a hook can be attached to the strap attachment hardware and used by hanging it from a hook on an intravenous stand.
