Abstract

The invention relates to a device for applying coatings to the surfaces of highly curved parts. According to the invention, the device comprises a flexible base plate (1) having teeth (3) mounted on its side, a channel (4) arranged parallel to the toothed side, and a sealing lip (7). The device can primarily be used for applying a coating to or on the edges of a part, particularly for applying a liquid or paste-like coating substance. The invention also relates to methods for applying protective coatings against erosion to or on the edges of parts, in particular methods for applying protective coatings to the edges of rotor blades, vanes, or bearing surfaces.
