Pivot hinge assembly for a pivotal building door leaf

Abstract

A pivot hinge assembly for pivotally connecting a pivotal building door leaf with a structural frame and for providing electrical power to electrical components integrated with the door leaf. The pivot hinge assembly comprises a pivot hinge comprising a pivot hinge casing, a pivot pin which can be moved relative to the pivot hinge casing between a retracted position and an extended position by operating a pivot pin adjustment mechanism. The pivot hinge assembly further comprises a receiving assembly casing with a receiving opening configured to pivotally receive therein the pivot pin. The pivot pin and the receiving assembly comprise cooperating electrical connectors which are configured to be in electrical contact with each other when the pivot pin is received in the receiving opening and wherein the electrical connectors upon pivoting of the pivot pin along with the door leaf about the vertical pivot axis maintain the electrical contact.
