Modular trailer for transporting combine harvester platforms - Technical Field
[001] The following descriptive report for the invention refers to the development of a modular trailer, which has the function of transporting a cutting platform for a combine harvester of any type of cereal. STATE OF THE ART
[002] Trailers for transporting combine harvester platforms are known in the art.
[003] Document MU 9001554-1 describes a trailer for transporting combine harvester platforms, where the combine harvester itself loads and unloads the platform onto support brackets, which are fixed to the main chassis of the trailer. These brackets were specifically developed to better accommodate the platform safely. The greatest advantage found in this product is the feasibility of safe and versatile platform transport, because when coupled to the combine harvester, it is positioned transversely to the roadway, causing major mobility problems; whereas, with the proposed trailer, the platform is moved longitudinally along the road and towed by the combine harvester itself or by a tractor.
[004] A constructive arrangement applied to the platform for transporting agricultural machinery is described in MU 8200146-4, for example, a grain harvester in general, with capacity for transporting implements of various sizes, formed from a modular chassis, constructed of folded sheet metal profiles and basically consisting of three parts: front, central and Petition 870180046408, dated 05 / 30 / 2018, page 7 / 22 / 9 back.
[005] Document MU 8002236-7 discloses a trailer for transporting agricultural platforms, comprising a towable metal structure, flanged between the hitch beam and the main beam, bearing tandem casters that are fixed to the axle, this axle being integral with the main beam, as well as a set of long and short supports arranged in a V shape, fastened by bolts and capable of moving on the main beam; changing the relative distance from one to the other and also bearing a leveling assembly located at the front of the hitch beam, keeping the trailer level when uncoupled from the towing vehicle.
[006] A transport cart for combine harvester platforms is described in BR 202015029364-5, which consists of a cradle with angles of 145° and 110° to accommodate any type of platform, wheel axle reinforcement, a cradle arm with an iron plate on top to aid in the platform's sliding for easier loading and unloading, and finally, an angle bracket positioned on the upper edge of the cradle, to which an "I"-shaped clip is attached to prevent this bracket from coming loose. Finally, the transport cart for combine harvester platforms was developed to serve two purposes: the first being the hitch, which is welded directly to the towing arm, and when it breaks, requires cutting and re-welding, thus shortening the arm and necessitating its replacement; and the second purpose of the product is that it has universal wheels.Eliminating wheels manufactured with specific hub measurements, which currently forces the consumer / user to choose the rim size at the time of purchase. [007] Trailers for transporting combine harvester platforms are not modular, meaning they have a defined size for transporting platforms of specific dimensions. When the platform dimensions change, another trailer is needed. This limits access to this type of equipment by the producers, as it is not possible to have as many trailers as there are platforms. PROPOSED SOLUTION
[008] In order to solve this problem, a modular trailer was developed, where its components are standardized regardless of the trailer's size. As an example of this modularity, the trailer can be modified from 30 to 35 feet only by changing the main chassis, and the rest of the assembly remains the same, if the version remains the same. If the version changes, in addition to the size, other items will be altered.
[009] Another advantage of this new invention is the ease of uncoupling the platform, as it features a new weight distribution along its chassis, leaving the middle of the trailer "clean," i.e., without components that could interfere during the coupling and uncoupling process of the platform. In addition to this aspect, the trailer is characterized by the ease of being modified to transport platforms of different models, simply by adjusting the angle and distance of the arm support rail and the set of shoes.
[010] Another benefit of this trailer is its easy adaptation to different types of terrain, as its two-axle construction, with the rear axle being a tandem type, absorbs the impacts caused by Petition 870180046408, dated 05 / 30 / 2018, page 9 / 22 / 9 irregular terrain. Due to its short wheelbase, it has a small turning radius, which is essential for performing more critical maneuvers. DESCRIPTION
[011] The present invention is characterized by means of representative drawings of the modular trailer for transporting a combine harvester platform, in such a way that the product can be fully reproduced by appropriate technique, allowing full characterization of the functionality of the object claimed.
[012] Based on the elaborated figures that express the best or preferred way to carry out the product now conceived, the descriptive part of the report is based, through a detailed and consecutive numbering, where it clarifies aspects that may be implied by the representation adopted, in order to clearly determine the protection now intended.
[013] These figures are merely illustrative and may present variations, provided they do not deviate from what was initially requested.

[020] A preferred embodiment of the invention comprises a chassis (1) with a longitudinal shape, manufactured from the joining of two stiffened U-profiles, having its ends formed by flanges (13 and 14) of the same material as the profile, said chassis connecting the tandem rear axle (2) and the upper front axle (3), the shoe assemblies (8) and the long support of the ruler being attached to the rear axle (2) and the upper front axle (3), the chassis (1) also receiving the two throat locking arms (11), serving as support for the central long support arm (10), wherein this arm (10) contains the long ruler support (7), and the rectangular tube (12) supporting the arms is fixed onto these various ruler supports (7).
[021] Said front axle is composed of the upper axle (3) and the lower axle (4), where the front wheel (15) and the header (5) are fixed to this lower axle, and said lower axle (4) is also equipped with a rotation mechanism. Both the rear and front axles contain wheels with tires (6 and 15).
[022] The modular trailer in its “B” version is analogous to version “A”, dimensioning its structure to support a larger load, with its dimensions and characteristics varying according to the size of the trailer and the weight of the platform in question.
[023] In special applications, where the combine harvester platform becomes very heavy and long, the chassis is reinforced, where a stiffened U-profile of the same material as the main chassis profile is used to fit inside.
[024] The tandem rear axle (2) consists of two parts: the upper rear axle tube and the rocker arm. The upper tube shown is Petition 870180046408, dated 05 / 30 / 2018, p. 11 / 22 / 9 manufactured with stiffened U-profiles of the same material as the profiles used in the chassis, together with accessories (parts), such as, for example, a set of bearing plates, among others.
[025] It is worth noting that this component will also make up the plates, which will be used as adjustments for the shoe assembly and the long support of the ruler, that is, support pieces for the combine harvester platform, or also, it can be said, rests for the platform when it is placed on the trailer. These supports for the platform will be adjusted according to the size and angle required by the various models of platforms available on the market.
[026] On the back of the tandem axle (2), a low alloy carbon steel U-profile is welded, which is used to attach the complete bumper with electrical components. On the front, a tube made of a stiffened U-profile, flange and wedges identical to those found on the chassis is welded.
[027] The front axle, as well as the rear axle, also consists of two parts, including the upper front axle (3) and the lower front axle (4).
[028] The lower front axle (4) as shown is a component similar to the upper front axle (3), using some common parts, such as the round plate and its wedges (triangles), as well as the bushing with the same characteristics, differing only in size, welded in the center of the tube, formed by the stiffened U-profiles. The tube of this axle has extra reinforcement, namely, two strips welded to the inside of the stiffened U-profile.
[029] For the front axle to be complete, it is necessary to join the upper axle (3) to the lower axle (4), this joining being done by means of a pin (16), containing at one of its ends the Petition 870180046408, dated 05 / 30 / 2018, p. 12 / 22 / 9 welding of a metal disc made of steel and its other end machined, which contains a castle nut. The machined part of this pin is made for the installation of the “bolt” (17), which has the function of preventing impacts on the front axle, causing its bending or even its rupture. The lower axle (4) moves on the upper axle (3) by means of a pair of discs (22 and 23).
[030] On the upper axis (3) is arranged the long support of the ruler (7) which contains the shoe (18) and a height adjustment mechanism, composed of the adjustment arm (19), with change of position by means of the pin (20) with lock (21).
[031] The header of the modular trailer, as can be seen in figure 5, is basically formed by U-profiles and stiffened U-profiles, with the addition of parts to attach the handle and flat bars to support the header.
[032] It is worth noting that the length of the main profile of this header, as well as the other profiles present, varies according to the size of the trailer. The other components remain unchanged regardless of size.
[033] The long adjustable arm (fig. 04) is adjusted according to the platform model, as its function is to assist in the distribution of weight along the chassis, as well as to lock the platform so that it does not move on top of the trailer. It will always be adjusted to be in contact with the rigid part of the platform, i.e., its chassis.
[034] Said long adjustable arm comprises an “L” shaped support (24), containing multiple adjustment holes, wherein the shoe (18) is fixed at one end to this support (24) by means of a screw, washer and nut (25, 26 and 27), and at the other end Petition 870180046408, dated 05 / 30 / 2018, page 13 / 22 / 9 end, the adjustment plate (28) by means of screw, washer and nut (29, 30 and 31), with an arm locking plate (32), said locking plate (32) being equipped with four screws (33) which are used to fix said plate (32) by means of nuts (34) to the adjustment plate (28).
[035] The central arm of the long support of the ruler (fig. 05) is formed by flat bars (35 and 36), support wedges (37 and 38), bushings (39) and an adjustment flange (40). This central arm has the main function of serving as a support for the stiffened ruler supporting the arms, and must be uniformly adjusted with the other supports present on the axles. Its correct position is to be installed right in the center of the platform, becoming one of the main support and weight distribution points along the chassis.
[036] The long support of the ruler (7) is formed from a U-profile, in low alloy carbon steel. This component will have a crucial function in the trailer, as it will be the same that will support the stiffened ruler of the trailer, that is, it will be the support of the part that will be in contact with the nylon of the platform along its length.
[037] It will be installed on top of the front and rear axles of the trailer, as well as on the central support arm. It will be adjusted according to the model of each platform and its adjustment will be through the height adjuster, combined with the arm adjustment “flange” plate, changing only the position of the pin (16).
[038] The shoe assembly (8) is another adjustment element that will be positioned on the trailer axles, formed entirely of low-alloy carbon steel parts. This assembly will be the support that will fit into the platform chassis. Its shape, as can be seen in item 8 of figure 2, will have the function of preventing the machine from “slipping”. [039] Both sets are adjustable, so by combining the two parts, the trailer can attach any type of combine harvester platform to its chassis, adjusting as needed, as mentioned at the beginning of this description.
[040] The stiffened U-shaped armrest support, also called the rectangular armrest support tube, will be housed within the long supports of the support. It can be fixed along the entire length of this support, its location being determined according to the length and angle measurements of the platform to be used.
Claims
1- MODULAR TRAILER FOR TRANSPORTING HARVESTER PLATFORM, equipped with a chassis (1) with its ends formed by flanges (13 and 14), said chassis (1) connecting the tandem rear axle (2) and the upper front axle (3), the rear axle (2) and the front axle (3) being fitted with shoe assemblies (8), the chassis (1) also receiving the two throat locking arms (11), serving as support for the long central support arm (10), where this arm (10) contains the long support ruler (7), and the rectangular tube (12) supporting the arms is fixed onto these various supports of the ruler (7); having a front axle composed of the upper axle (3) and the lower axle (4), where the front wheel (15) and the header (5) are fixed to this lower axle, said lower axle (4) also being equipped with a rotation mechanism;where said front axle comprises the union of the upper axle (3) to the lower axle (4), this union occurring through a pin (16), containing at one end the welding of a metal disc produced in steel and at the other end machined, which contains a castle nut, where the machined part of this pin is made for the installation of the “bolt” (17); where the lower axle (4) moves on the upper axle (3) by means of a pair of discs (22 and 23), characterized by:; a) - the long adjustable arm comprises an “L” shaped support (24), containing multiple adjustment holes, wherein the shoe (18) is fixed at one end to this support (24) by means of a screw, washer and nut (25, 26 and 27), and at the other end, the adjustment plate (28) by means of a screw, washer and nut (29, 30 and 31), with an arm locking plate (32), said locking plate (32) being provided with four screws (33) which are used to fix said plate (32) by means of nuts (34) to the adjustment plate (28); and b) - the central arm of the long support of the ruler is formed by flat bars (35 and 36), support wedges (37 and 38), bushings (39) and an adjustment flange (40).
