Abstract

The invention relates to a civil engineering structure comprising vertical supports (40) and a power plant, wherein at least a portion of the vertical supports (40) defines a housing (404) which also includes electrical batteries (50), the batteries (50) being housed and stacked within the housings (404) of the vertical supports (40). In one embodiment, the vertical supports (40) comprise beams (401) with an H-shaped or I-shaped cross-section, the beams (401) consisting of two flanges connected by a web, both sides of the web with the two flanges defining the housing (404) that accommodates the batteries (50). This is a solution for optimizing space in civil engineering structures requiring numerous batteries, such as those that house power plants.
