Abstract

The detection and mitigation of unstable cells in an array of non-cloning cells are disclosed. A circuit includes a set of multiple bit generation cells. One or more adjustable characterization circuits are coupled to the input of the bit generation cells to influence the output of the bit generation cells. Based on the influence of the one or more characterization circuits on the output of the bit generation cells, a subset smaller than all the bit generation cells is selected.
