Description

Technical Field

[0001] The invention relates to an interface for operating an elevator car, an elevator car and a method for producing an elevator car. Background Art

[0002] An elevator is commonly used to transport people or materials from one floor to another, such as in a building. The elevator includes an elevator car that can be moved between floors using a drive unit. The drive unit can be controlled by an elevator controller.

[0003] In order to be able to activate the elevator controller to drive the car to a specific floor, an operating panel is usually provided in the car or at the floor. For example, a car operating panel (COP) can be provided in the car as an interface between the elevator controller and the elevator user. The elevator user can use the car operating panel to issue a request to the elevator controller to move the elevator car to a specific floor. A conventional car operating panel includes a panel and a plurality of buttons passing through the panel. Some car operating panels include a display device passing through the panel, such as a segmented display showing a floor number. Typically, the panel is mounted to a side wall of the elevator car or can constitute a part of the side wall.

[0004] However, conventional car operating panels may have various disadvantages, particularly in terms of the space required to mount the panel and its electrical components to the side wall of the car. Conventional car operating panels may have disadvantages in terms of compatibility with the curved side walls of an elevator car, or in terms of panel maintenance (e.g., cleaning the panel).

[0005] Therefore, there may be a need for an interface for operating an elevator car that is improved compared to a conventional car operating panel, particularly with respect to required space, compatibility with curved sidewalls, or maintenance. Furthermore, there may be a need for an elevator car comprising an interface according to embodiments described herein, or a method of producing an elevator car comprising an interface. Summary of the invention

[0006] PA223181B-OA1 Reply

[0007] One aspect relates to an interface for operating an elevator car, comprising: an interface controller; a backing member for attaching to a wall surface of a wall of the elevator car, the wall surface facing the interior of the elevator car; and at least one pressure-sensitive sensor, the at least one pressure-sensitive sensor being configured to receive a user request in the form of applying pressure to the at least one sensor; wherein the at least one sensor is connected to the interface controller, the interface controller being configured to send the user request received by the at least one sensor to a car controller of the elevator car; and wherein the at least one sensor is embedded in the backing member.

[0008] Another aspect relates to an elevator car comprising an interface according to embodiments described herein, and a wall having a wall surface facing the interior of the elevator car, wherein a skirt of the interface is attached to the wall surface.

[0009] Another aspect relates to a method for producing an elevator car, which includes an interface, in particular an interface according to the embodiments described herein, the method comprising: attaching a backing piece of the interface to a wall surface of a wall of the elevator car, wherein at least one pressure-sensitive sensor of the interface is embedded in the backing piece, and wherein the at least one sensor is configured to receive a user request made by applying pressure to the at least one sensor.

[0010] Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an interface for operating an elevator car. In particular, the interface is configured to receive a user request from an elevator user, for example, a request from a person using the elevator to go from one floor to another. The interface, in particular the at least one sensor of the interface, is configured to receive a user request in the form of a user applying pressure to the at least one sensor. Pressure can be applied to a first sensor of the at least one sensor by touching a first area of a backing member or applying force to a first area of the backing member, wherein the first sensor is arranged in the first area of the backing member. The user request can, for example, include a user input for selecting a destination floor, a request to close a car door, a request to open a car door, a request for an emergency call, or a request to press an emergency bell. In the present disclosure, the term "or" should be specifically understood as "and / or".

[0011] According to an embodiment, the lining piece is configured for attachment to a wall surface of a wall of an elevator car. In some embodiments, the wall surface can be an area of the wall reaching at least one side of the wall, a top part of the elevator car, or a bottom part of the elevator car. For example, the wall surface can be the entire surface of the wall, an area of the wall reaching the top part of the elevator car, a vertical or horizontal strip, such as a vertical strip reaching from the bottom of the floor of the elevator car to the top part of the elevator car. In particular, the connection between the lining piece and the interface controller, such as the circuit, can advantageously be arranged outside the interior space of the elevator car. PA223181B-OA1 Reply

[0012] In an embodiment, the at least one sensor is embedded in the backing member. Here, the term "embedded" may be specifically understood such that the at least one sensor is not in contact with the interior of the elevator car. In some embodiments, the at least one sensor may be completely enclosed by the backing member. In a further embodiment, the at least one sensor is at least substantially surrounded by the backing member. For example, a free side of the at least one sensor, such as the side facing the wall surface, may not be in contact with the backing member.

[0013] According to an embodiment, the at least one sensor is pressure-sensitive. Specifically, the at least one sensor can be configured to detect a touch or force applied to the backing member (e.g., by a finger or hand of a user). The touch or force applied to the backing member can be transmitted through the backing member as a pressure applied to the at least one sensor. In some embodiments, the pressure or a change in pressure can provide a change in the capacitance of the at least one sensor. The change in capacitance can be detected by the interface controller, for example, to determine a user request associated with the pressure applied to the at least one sensor. Compared to certain capacitive sensors (e.g., capacitive sensors used in certain touch screens of smartphones), an interface with at least one pressure-sensitive sensor can provide the advantage that it can operate independently of the capacitive properties of the object contacting the interface. For example, an interface with at least one pressure-sensitive sensor can also be operated using "non-capacitive" gloves.

[0014] According to some embodiments, the backing element comprises a protective layer between the at least one sensor and the interior of the elevator car. In particular, the protective layer of the backing element may be in contact with the interior of the elevator car. The protective layer may be specifically configured for protecting the at least one sensor, for example from wear or from liquids. For example, the thickness of the protective layer may be at least 0.5 mm, in particular at least 1 mm or at least 2 mm, or at most 5 mm, in particular at most 4 mm or at most 3 mm. The protective layer may provide the advantage that the backing element of the interface may be easily and thoroughly cleaned, in particular without the risk of damaging electrical components of the at least one sensor.

[0015] According to an embodiment, the thickness of the backing piece, in particular the backing piece including the embedding layer and the protective layer, is at most 5 mm, in particular at most 3 mm or at most 2 mm, or at least 0.5 mm, in particular at least 1 mm. The thickness of the backing piece is to be understood as the dimension of the backing piece in a direction perpendicular to the wall surface. The backing piece can be configured for attachment to the wall surface in a recess of the wall. An interface comprising a backing piece of smaller thickness can advantageously allow the interface to be seamlessly integrated with the wall of the elevator car. In particular, the interface can be attached to the wall so that the backing piece is at least substantially flush with the wall, in particular without the need for opening a hole in the wall for mounting a conventional car operating panel.
