[0008] The problem that the invention aims to solve
[0009] The outer conductor is usually a single component that integrates the cylindrical part and the main body. In contrast, to increase the degree of freedom in the construction of the cylindrical part and the main body, it is also possible to construct a first outer conductor on the cylindrical part side and a second outer conductor on the main body side, respectively.
[0010] However, when the outer conductor is divided into a first outer conductor and a second outer conductor, and the shielding terminal is locked inside the housing, there is a concern that the first outer conductor may shift relative to the second outer conductor when the wire connected to the cylindrical part of the first outer conductor is pulled backward.
[0011] Therefore, the purpose of this disclosure is to provide shielded terminals and connectors that can prevent positional misalignment between the first outer conductor and the second outer conductor.
[0012] Solution for solving the problem
[0013] The shielding terminal disclosed herein includes a first outer conductor and a second outer conductor assembled together. The first outer conductor has a cylindrical portion connected to the shielding portion of an electric wire and a locking portion capable of being locked into a housing. The second outer conductor has a main body portion and a protruding portion extending rearward from the main body portion. The rear end of the protruding portion is held between the cylindrical portion and the electric wire. A stop portion is formed on the second outer conductor at a position forward of the rear end of the protruding portion, and a stopped portion is formed on the first outer conductor at a position forward of the locking portion. The stopped portion is capable of contacting the stop portion in a rotational direction centered on the locking portion.
[0014] The effects of the invention
[0015] According to this disclosure, it is possible to provide a shielded terminal that can prevent the first outer conductor and the second outer conductor from shifting position. Attached Figure Description

[0021] [Description of embodiments of this disclosure]
[0022] First, embodiments of this disclosure will be described.
[0023] The shielding terminal of this disclosure is configured as follows:
[0024] (1) A first outer conductor and a second outer conductor are assembled together. The first outer conductor has a cylindrical portion connected to the shielding portion of an electric wire and a locking portion that can be locked onto a housing. The second outer conductor has a main body portion and a protruding portion extending rearward from the main body portion. The rear end of the protruding portion is held between the cylindrical portion and the electric wire. A stop portion is formed in the second outer conductor at a position forward of the rear end of the protruding portion. A stopped portion is formed in the first outer conductor at a position forward of the locking portion. The stopped portion can contact the stop portion in a rotational direction centered on the locking portion.
[0025] With the shielding terminal housed in the housing and the locking part locked in place, if the wire is pulled backward, there is a concern that the first outer conductor may shift in position relative to the second outer conductor in a direction that rotates (tilts) around the locking part that is locked in place with the housing. However, according to the above structure, the stopped part of the first outer conductor can contact the stopped part of the second outer conductor in the rotational direction centered on the locking part, thus preventing the second outer conductor from shifting in position relative to the first outer conductor.
[0026] (2) Preferably, the main body and the protruding part extend in a vertical direction at an intersection, forming a shape that can be inserted into the housing. When the first outer conductor and the second outer conductor are assembled, the locking part is disposed opposite to the main body at a position further back than the main body.
[0027] Furthermore, in this connector having shielded terminals and the housing, it is preferable that the housing has a locking receiving portion for locking the locking portion, and an insertion portion for inserting the main body portion at a position forward of the locking receiving portion, the insertion portion and the locking receiving portion being arranged in a front-rear direction relative to each other.
[0028] According to the above structure, when the shielding terminal is housed in the housing, the force caused by the pull can be absorbed by the locking portion of the locking receiving part and the locking portion when the wire is pulled backward. This restricts the backward movement of the main body and prevents interference and deformation between the inner surface (rear surface) of the main body and the insertion part of the housing.
[0029] (3) Preferably, the first outer conductor has a base extending forward from the cylindrical portion and a pair of upright portions standing upright from the left and right ends of the base portion, the locking portion is shaped by bending a portion of the base portion, the stopped portion is formed at the end of the upright portion in the vertical direction front end, and the upright portion is plate-shaped and overlaps the outer surface of the second outer conductor in a manner that blocks the gap of the second outer conductor.
[0030] Based on the above structure, the degree of freedom in forming the locking part can be increased. Furthermore, the stopped part can be easily formed without requiring special processing of the end of the vertically facing front end of the upright part. In addition, by sealing the gap of the second outer conductor with the upright part, noise leakage and intrusion can be prevented.
[0031] [Detailed Structure of Embodiments of this Disclosure]
[0032] Hereinafter, specific examples of this disclosure will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. Furthermore, the invention is not limited to these examples, but refers to all modifications shown in the claims and encompassing the same meaning and scope as the claims.
[0033] <Implementation Method 1>
[0034] like Figure 1 As shown, the connector 10 of Embodiment 1 of this disclosure includes a housing 20 and a shielding terminal 30. The shielding terminal 30 is housed in the housing 20 when assembled to the end of the wire 90. Furthermore, in the following description, the front-rear direction corresponds to the length direction of the wire 90, and the side where the wire 90 is laid when viewed from the shielding terminal 30 is designated as the rear side. Regarding the vertical direction, the side where the shielding terminal 30 is assembled relative to the housing 20 is designated as the upper side. This vertical direction does not indicate the actual positional relationship or direction when mounted on a device such as an automobile. In the figures, "F", "R", "U", and "D" respectively indicate "front side", "rear side", "upper side", and "lower side".
[0035] <Shell>
[0036] The housing 20 is made of synthetic resin, such as Figure 1 As shown, it has a storage groove 21 extending in the front-rear direction and an insertion portion 22 extending downward from the front end of the storage groove 21. The storage groove 21 is open upward along its entire length in the front-rear direction. In order to seal the upper surface of the storage groove 21, a cover, other housing or other covering component 23 is mounted on the housing 20 from above.
[0037] A concave locking receiving portion 24 is formed on the lower surface of the receiving groove 21 of the housing 20. The locking receiving portion 24 is disposed close to the rear of the insertion portion 22 at a position near the front end of the receiving groove 21.
[0038] <Wire>
[0039] like Figure 1 As shown, wire 90 is a shielded wire (coaxial wire) with a core wire 91, an insulating covering 92, a shielding part 93, and a sheath 94 extending from the central axis outwards. At the front end of wire 90, the sheath 94 and the insulating covering 92 are cut off, exposing the core wire 91 and the shielding part 93 in sequence. The shielding part 93 is a braided wire or the like, and is connected to a grounding part (not shown).
[0040] <Shielding Terminals>
[0041] like Figure 1As shown, the shielding terminal 30 has an inner conductor 31, outer conductors 32 and 33 surrounding the outer periphery of the inner conductor 31, and a dielectric 34 disposed between the inner conductor 31 and the outer conductors 32 and 33. The inner conductor 31, outer conductors 32 and 33, and dielectric 34 are all L-shaped when viewed from the side, corresponding to the overall shape of the shielding terminal 30. The outer conductors 32 and 33 and the inner conductor 31 are made of conductive metal, and the dielectric 34 is made of synthetic resin. The dielectric 34 electrically insulates the outer conductors 32 and 33 from the inner conductor 31. The rear end of the portion extending in the front-to-back direction of the inner conductor 31 is crimped to the core wire 91 of the wire 90 for conductive connection, and the lower end of the portion extending in the vertical direction is conductively connected to the inner conductor of the opposite terminal (not shown).
[0042] like Figure 2 As shown, the outer conductors 32 and 33 constitute the outer shell of the shielding terminal 30, which is composed of the first outer conductor 32 and the second outer conductor 33 assembled and connected to each other.
[0043] The first outer conductor 32 is formed by bending a metal plate, etc. The first outer conductor 32 has a cylindrical portion 35 and a base 36 extending forward from the cylindrical portion 35. For example... Figure 2 and Figure 3 As shown, the cylindrical portion 35 has a bottom 37 extending in the front-rear direction. The bottom 37 and the base 36 are continuously arranged in the front-rear direction. The cylindrical portion 35 has a pair of left and right front cylindrical plates 38 that stand upright from the front end of the bottom 37. Figure 2 , Figure 3 Only one is shown); a pair of left and right intermediate tube plates 39 standing upright from the front and rear middle parts of the bottom 37 ( Figure 2 , Figure 3 Only one is shown); and a pair of left and right rear cylindrical plates 41 standing upright from the rear end of the bottom 37. Figure 2 , Figure 3 Only one is shown).
[0044] The cylindrical section 35 is crimped to the wire 90 and connected thereto, causing the bottom 37 to bend and the whole to bend into a shape with a circular or nearly circular cross-section. The diameter of the portion corresponding to each intermediate cylindrical plate 39 is smaller than the diameter of the portion corresponding to each front cylindrical plate 38 and each rear cylindrical plate 41.
[0045] The base 36 has a flat plate-like portion 42 formed in both the front-rear and left-right directions at a position lower than the bottom 37. A locking portion 43 is formed by bending at the center of the plate-like portion 42. Specifically, a square U-shaped cut is formed in the center of the plate-like portion 42, and the plate portion within the cut is bent downward from the front end to form the locking portion 43. The locking portion 43 is rectangular plate-shaped, with the plate surface facing front-rear and arranged in the vertical direction. A triangular pyramid-shaped reinforcing portion 44 is formed at the root of the locking portion 43. The reinforcing portion 44 is shaped by hammering the portion from the root of the locking portion 43 to the front end of the plate-like portion 42 forward.
[0046] The first outer conductor 32 has a pair of upright portions 45 that stand from the left and right ends of the base 36. Each upright portion 45 is formed in a plate shape along the vertical direction. The rear end of each upright portion 45 is connected to each front cylindrical plate 38.
[0047] At the front end of each upright portion 45, an upright main body portion 46, which is rectangular in shape when viewed from the side, is formed at a higher height. The upper end of the upright main body portion 46 becomes a stopped portion 47 that can contact the stop portion 61 of the second outer conductor 33 described below. The stopped portion 47 of the upright main body portion 46 is arranged in the front-rear direction.
[0048] The second outer conductor 33 is formed by bending a metal plate, etc. For example... Figure 2 and Figure 4 As shown, the second outer conductor 33 has a cylindrical main body 48 and a plate-shaped protrusion 49. The protrusion 49 has: a lower protrusion 51, which is connected at a right angle to the main body 48; and an upper protrusion 53, which is connected to the main body 48 via a hinge 52 to be in an open state. Figure 4 The states shown are (closed) and (closed) Figure 1 , Figure 2 as well as Figure 5 The parts are connected in an open and closed manner (as shown). In the open state, the protrusion 49 is vertically disposed on the main body 48, and the upper surface of the main body 48 is open. In the closed state, the protrusion 49 is disposed in the front-rear direction, and the upper surface opening of the main body 48 is blocked by the protruding base end 59 described below.
[0049] When the main body 48 is inserted into the insertion portion 22 of the housing 20, it is electrically connected to the outer conductor of the counterpart terminal (not shown). An elastic contact portion 54 (see reference 54) is formed at the lower end of the main body 48, which can contact the outer conductor disposed within the main body 48. Figure 2 The main body 48 has a rearward facing surface 65 that is opposite to the locking part 43.
[0050] like Figure 4As shown, a pair of plate-shaped engaging tabs 55 are formed on the upper end side of the main body 48, and an opening 56 that opens rearward is formed between the rear ends of each engaging tab 55. The lower extension 51 is plate-shaped and extends rearward from the lower end of the opening 56 of the main body 48. The rear end of the lower extension 51 is narrower than the front end of the lower extension 51. The upper extension 53 has: a plate-shaped main extension 57, which is connected to the upper front part of the main body 48 via a hinge 52; and a pair of auxiliary extensions 58, which are bent at right angles from the left and right ends of the main extension 57.
[0051] like Figure 2 As shown, the main extension 57 is configured to extend in the front-rear direction when closed. A protruding base end portion 59 is formed on the main extension 57 near the hinge 52, which blocks the opening on the upper surface of the main body 48 when closed. The protruding base end portion 59 is located in front of each auxiliary extension 58 when closed and is arranged in both the front-rear and left-right directions. Figure 4 and Figure 5 As shown, a pair of left and right stop portions 61 extending laterally are formed at the protruding base end 59. Each stop portion 61 is rectangular plate-shaped and, in the closed state, protrudes laterally above the open portion 56, beyond the outer periphery of the main body portion 48. The protrusion dimension of the stop portion 61 is the same as or larger than the plate thickness of the upright main body portion 46, wherein the plate thickness of the upright main body portion 46 is also the width dimension of the stop portion 47.
[0052] The auxiliary extension 58 has a pair of connecting ends 62 protruding downward from the left and right ends of the main extension 57 in the closed state, and a pair of dividing portions 63 extending rearward from each connecting end 62. In the closed state, the rear end of the main extension 57, the rear end of the lower extension 51, and each dividing portion 63 are circular or nearly circular in rear view and are arranged along the outer periphery of the shielding portion 93 of the wire 90. Figure 2 As shown, with the first outer conductor 32 and the second outer conductor 33 assembled, the rear end of the lower protrusion 51 is covered by the bottom 37 of the first outer conductor 32, and the rear ends of the main protrusion 57 and each segment 63 are covered by the front cylindrical plates 38 of the first outer conductor 32. In this way, the main protrusion 57, the lower protrusion 51, and each segment 63 are covered and held by the cylindrical portion 35, thereby maintaining the assembled state of the first outer conductor 32 and the second outer conductor 33.
[0053] Assembly method and structure of shielded terminals
[0054] Make the second outer conductor 33 open. Figure 4(As shown in the diagram), the dielectric 34 is inserted into the main body 48 from above. The dielectric 34 pre-houses an inner conductor 31 connected to the core wire 91 of the wire 90. However, if the dielectric 34 has a cover 64 (see...) Figure 1 Alternatively, after inserting the dielectric 34 into the main body 48, the inner conductor 31 can be inserted into the dielectric 34, and then the cover 64 can be closed.
[0055] Next, the second outer conductor 33 is switched off. In the switched-off state, as follows: Figure 1 As shown, the main extension 57 of the second outer conductor 33 is configured to contact the upper surface of the dielectric 34. Furthermore, in the closed state, as... Figure 2 As shown, a gap G1 is formed between the rear end of the latching piece 55 and the front end of the connecting end 62 in the vertical direction, and a gap G2 is formed between the secondary protrusion 58 and the lower protrusion 51 in the front-back direction.
[0056] Next, the first outer conductor 32 is assembled onto the second outer conductor 33 from below. The bottom 37 and base 36 of the first outer conductor 32 are positioned along the lower surface of the lower extension 51 of the second outer conductor 33. In this state, the crimping fixture (anvil and crimper) abuts against the cylindrical portion 35 to perform the crimping process. Each front cylindrical piece 38, each intermediate cylindrical piece 39, and each rear cylindrical piece 41 is bent and crimped to the end portion of the wire 90. Specifically, each front cylindrical piece 38 clamps the rear end of the extension 49 in the middle and is electrically connected to the shield 93 of the wire 90. Each intermediate cylindrical piece 39 is directly crimped to the shield 93 of the wire 90 and is electrically connected to it. Each rear cylindrical piece 41 is mechanically connected to the sheath 94 of the wire 90. In addition, in this embodiment 1, the pressing processes of each front cylindrical plate 38, each intermediate cylindrical plate 39 and each rear cylindrical plate 41 can be performed simultaneously or separately during off-peak hours.
[0057] With the first outer conductor 32 and the second outer conductor 33 already assembled, such as Figure 2 As shown, the outer surfaces of the upright portions 45 and the protruding portions 49 of the first outer conductor 32 are arranged to overlap, thereby sealing the gaps G1 and G2 formed in the second outer conductor 33.
[0058] In addition, such as Figure 2 and Figure 5 As shown, each stop portion 61 of the second outer conductor 33 is arranged opposite to the stopped portion 47 of each upright main body portion 46 in a manner that contacts each other in the front-to-back direction. Figure 2 As shown, the locking portion 43 is disposed opposite to the rear of the main body portion 48 at intervals.
[0059] <The housing structure for storing the shielding terminals>
[0060] When the shielding terminal 30 is housed within the housing 20, such as Figure 1 As shown, the main body 48 is fitted into the insertion portion 22 of the housing 20, and the plate-shaped portion 42 of the first outer conductor 32 is arranged along the lower surface of the receiving groove 21 of the housing 20. The locking portion 43 protrudes downward from the plate-shaped portion 42 of the first outer conductor 32, so that the shielding terminal 30 descends during assembly and can enter the locking receiving portion 24 of the housing 20. When the locking portion 43 enters the locking receiving portion 24, the rear surface of the locking portion 43 (the rear side surface of the locking portion 43) is arranged opposite the inner surface of the locking receiving portion 24 in a vertically contacting manner.
[0061] With the shielding terminal 30 housed within the housing 20, for example, when the wire 90 is pulled backward, a force F (refer to) will be applied to pull the shielding terminal 30 backward. Figure 1 When the force F is applied, the rear surface of the locking portion 43 strongly contacts the inner surface of the locking receiving portion 24 to withstand the force F. This restricts the retraction of the shielding terminal 30. Furthermore, since the retraction of the main body portion 48 is also restricted, it is possible to prevent the opposing surface 65 of the main body portion 48 from being deformed by the inner surface of the insertion portion 22 of the housing 20. Because a reinforcing portion 44 is formed in the locking portion 43, even if the rear surface of the locking portion 43 strongly contacts the inner surface of the locking receiving portion 24, plastic deformation of the locking portion 43 can be prevented.
[0062] However, when a force F is applied to the first outer conductor 32, the first outer conductor 32 rotates in the direction of upward rotation (refer to UR) centered on the locking portion of the locking part 43 and the locking receiving part 24 (the portion where the rear surface of the locking part 43 contacts the inner surface of the locking receiving part 24). Figure 1 , Figure 2 There is a concern that the first outer conductor 32 might shift in position relative to the second outer conductor 33 in the upward direction UR if it is tilted. However, in this embodiment 1, each stop portion 61 of the first outer conductor 32 contacts each stop portion 47 of the second outer conductor 33 in the displacement direction of the upward direction UR, thus preventing the first outer conductor 32 from shifting in position relative to the second outer conductor 33 in the upward direction UR. As a result, the first outer conductor 32 and the second outer conductor 33 can be maintained in a properly assembled state.
[0063] As described above, the following effects can be achieved according to Embodiment 1.
[0064] Since the locking portion 43 protrudes downward from the lower surface of the base 36 of the first outer conductor 32, it is possible to prevent the shielding terminal 30 from becoming larger in the width direction. Furthermore, in the housing 20, the locking receiving portion 24 that receives the locking portion 43 is formed on the lower surface of the receiving groove 21 and converges within the width of the receiving groove 21. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the connector 10 from also becoming larger in the width direction.
[0065] In addition, the locking part 43 is formed by cutting off a portion of the base 36 located between the cylindrical part 35 and the main body part 48, so it is easy to ensure the positional accuracy and dimensional accuracy of the locking part 43. Furthermore, it can also improve the degree of freedom in forming the locking part 43.
[0066] Furthermore, since both the main body 48 and the locking portion 43 extend vertically, and the opposing surface 65 of the main body 48 faces the locking portion 43, the locking portion 43 does not protrude independently downwards from the shielding terminal 30. Therefore, the shielding terminal 30 does not become larger vertically due to the presence of the locking portion 43. In addition, since a rib-shaped reinforcing portion 44 is formed at the root portion on the front surface side of the locking portion 43, plastic deformation of the locking portion 43 can be avoided.
[0067] Furthermore, according to this embodiment 1, the following effects can be achieved.
[0068] If the wire 90 is pulled backward, the first outer conductor 32 will shift in position relative to the second outer conductor 33 in the upward direction UR with the locking part 43 and the locking part 24 as the center. Then, the stopped part 47 of each upright main body part 46 of the first outer conductor 32 can contact each stopped part 61 of the second outer conductor 33, thus preventing the second outer conductor 33 from shifting in position relative to the first outer conductor 32.
[0069] Furthermore, when the wire 90 is pulled backward, the locking portion of the locking receiving portion 24 and the locking portion 43 can withstand the force F caused by the pull. As a result, the backward movement of the main body 48 is restricted, and the interference between the main body 48 and the inner surface of the insertion portion 22 of the housing 20 can be avoided, thus preventing deformation.
[0070] Furthermore, since the stop portion 47 is formed at the upper end of the upright main body portion 46, no special processing is required on the first outer conductor 32 to form the stop portion 47. In addition, by sealing the gap of the first outer conductor 32 with the upright portion 45, noise leakage and intrusion can be prevented.
[0071] [Other embodiments of this disclosure]
[0072] The 1st implementation method disclosed herein should be considered as illustrative rather than restrictive in all respects.
[0073] In embodiment 1, the locking portion is formed at the base of the first outer conductor. However, in other embodiments, the locking portion may be formed in a portion of the first outer conductor other than the base, such as the cylindrical portion, as long as it does not protrude outward in the width direction of the first outer conductor.
[0074] In embodiment 1, the locking portion is formed by cutting off a portion of the base. However, in other embodiments, the locking portion may also be formed by bending a protruding portion of the base.
[0075] In embodiment 1, the main body is formed to extend in the vertical direction. However, in other embodiments, the main body may also be formed to extend in the front-back direction in a continuous manner with the protrusion, base, and bottom.
[0076] In embodiment 1, the outer conductor is composed of a first outer conductor and a second outer conductor that are separate from each other. However, in other embodiments, the outer conductor may also be a single component formed as a whole.
