Window coverings for motor vehicles

Abstract

A shielding device for a window section of a motor vehicle. It has at least one shape-stable shielding structure arranged at a support slide and movable relative to a fixed receiving area between a rest position and a shielding position via a drive system. The shielding structure includes an electrically activated light-shielding functional layer. According to the invention, the electrically activated light-shielding functional layer can be coupled to a vehicle-side electrical network via a cable assembly, and a flexibly movable multi-joint motion mechanism is provided in the receiving area, hinged at at least one fixed current connector section at the support slide and the receiving area. The cable assembly is connected to the vehicle-side electrical network, and the cable assembly has at least one extension length corresponding to the multi-joint motion mechanism. The cable assembly extends longitudinally along the multi-joint motion mechanism and is connected to it, so that the cable assembly is carried along with the movement of the multi-joint motion mechanism. It is used for the side door of a passenger car.
