DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0029] Here, some embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in further detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. The terms or words used in this specification and claims should not be interpreted as limited to the common meaning or dictionary meaning, and should be interpreted as meanings and concepts consistent with the technical ideas of the present disclosure based on the principle that the inventor can be his / her own lexicon compiler to appropriately define the concepts of the terms.

[0030] The embodiments described in this specification and the configurations shown in the accompanying drawings are provided as some exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, rather than representing all technical ideas, aspects and features of the present disclosure. Therefore, it will be understood that when filing this application, there may be various equivalents and modifications that can replace or modify the embodiments described herein.

[0031] It will be understood that when an element or layer is referred to as being "on," "connected to," or "coupled to" another element or layer, it may be directly on, directly connected to, or directly coupled to the other element or layer, or one or more intervening elements or layers may also be present. When an element or layer is referred to as being "directly on," "directly connected to," or "directly coupled to" another element or layer, there are no intervening elements or layers. For example, when a first element is described as being "coupled to" or "coupled to" a second element, the first element may be directly coupled to or directly coupled to the second element, or the first element may be indirectly coupled to or indirectly coupled to the second element via one or more intervening elements.

[0032] In the figure, for the sake of clear explanation, the size of various elements, layers, etc. can be exaggerated. The same reference numerals represent the same or similar elements. As used herein, the term "and / or" includes any combination and all combinations of one or more of the relevant listed items. In addition, when describing the embodiments of the present disclosure, the use of "may" relates to "one or more embodiments of the present disclosure". Expressions such as "at least one (kind / person) in ... " and "any one (kind / person) in ... " modify the entire column of elements when they are after a column of elements, rather than modifying the individual elements in the column. When phrases such as "at least one (kind / person) in A, B and C", "at least one (kind / person) in A, B or C", "at least one (kind / person) selected from the group of A, B and C" or "at least one (kind / person) selected from A, B and C" are used to represent a column of elements A, B and C, the phrase can refer to any suitable combination (or subset) and all suitable combinations (or subsets) of A, B and C, such as A, B, C, A and B, A and C, B and C, or A and B and C. As used herein, the term "use" and variations thereof may be considered synonymous with the term "utilize" and variations thereof, respectively. As used herein, the terms "substantially," "approximately," and similar terms are used as terms of approximation rather than as terms of degree, and are intended to account for the inherent deviations in measurements or calculations that one of ordinary skill in the art would recognize.

[0033] It will be understood that, although the terms "first", "second", "third", etc. may be used herein to describe various elements, components, regions, layers, and / or parts, these elements, components, regions, layers, and / or parts should not be limited by these terms. These terms are used to distinguish one element, component, region, layer, or part from another element, component, region, layer, or part. Therefore, without departing from the teachings of the exemplary embodiments, the first element, first component, first region, first layer, or first part discussed below may be named as the second element, second component, second region, second layer, or second part.

[0034] For ease of description, spatially relative terms such as "under", "below", "below", "above", "on", etc. may be used herein to describe the relationship of one element or feature to another element or features as shown in the figure. It will be understood that in addition to the orientation depicted in the figure, the spatially relative terms are also intended to cover different orientations of the device in use or operation. For example, if the device in the figure is turned over, the elements described as "under" or "below" other elements or features will then be oriented to be "above" or "on" the other elements or features. Therefore, the term "under" can cover both above and below. The device can be oriented otherwise (e.g., rotated 90 degrees or in other orientations), and the spatially relative descriptors used herein should be interpreted accordingly.

[0035] The terms used herein are for the purpose of describing the embodiments of the present disclosure and are not intended to limit the present disclosure. Unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, as used herein, the singular forms "one" and "a (kind / person)" are also intended to include plural forms. It will also be understood that when the terms "include", "comprise" and / or its variations are used in this specification, the stated features, integers, steps, operations, elements and / or components are indicated, but the presence or addition of one or more other features, integers, steps, operations, elements, components and / or their groups are not excluded.

[0036] In addition, any numerical range disclosed and / or described herein is intended to include all sub-ranges of the same numerical precision contained in the described range. For example, the range of "1.0 to 10.0" is intended to include all sub-ranges between the described minimum value 1.0 and the described maximum value 10.0 and including the described minimum value 1.0 and the described maximum value 10.0, that is, having a minimum value equal to or greater than 1.0 and a maximum value equal to or less than 10.0, such as 2.4 to 7.6. Any maximum numerical limit described herein is intended to include all lower numerical limits contained therein, and any minimum numerical limit described in this specification is intended to include all higher numerical limits contained therein. Therefore, the applicant reserves the right to modify this specification and the claims to explicitly describe any sub-ranges contained in the range explicitly described here.

[0037] Referring to two compared elements, features, etc. as "the same" may mean that they are "substantially the same." Thus, the phrase "substantially the same" may include situations with what is considered in the art to be low deviations (e.g., 5% or less deviation). In addition, when a parameter is referred to as being uniform in a given area, it may mean that it is uniform in terms of average value.

[0038] Throughout the specification, unless otherwise specified, each element may be in the singular or in the plural.

[0039] When any element is referred to as being arranged or located or positioned "on or below" or "upper or lower" of a component, it may mean that the arbitrary element is placed in contact with the upper or lower surface of the component, and may also mean that another component may be placed between the component and the arbitrary element arranged or located or positioned on or below the component.

[0040] Furthermore, it will be understood that when an element is referred to as being "coupled," "linked," or "connected" to another element, the elements may be directly "coupled," "linked," or "connected" to each other, or one or more intervening elements may be present therebetween, through which the element may be "coupled," "linked," or "connected" to the other element. Furthermore, when a portion is referred to as being "electrically coupled" to another portion, the portion may be directly electrically connected to the other portion, or one or more intervening portions may be present therebetween such that the portion and the other portion are indirectly electrically connected to each other.

[0041] Throughout the specification, unless otherwise stated, when "A and / or B" is stated, it means A, B, or A and B. That is, "and / or" includes any combination or all combinations of the listed multiple items. Unless otherwise stated, when "C to D" is stated, it means C or greater and D or less.

[0042] The terms used in this specification are used to describe the embodiments of the present disclosure and are not intended to limit the present disclosure.

[0043] Figure 1 is a schematic diagram showing a battery module according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, and Figure 2 is a schematic diagram illustrating a state in which a battery cell is omitted from a general cell holder in a battery module according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. Figure 3 is a schematic diagram showing a state in which nine battery cells of a cell column P are installed in a common cell holder in a battery module according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, and Figure 4 1 is a schematic diagram showing a state in which six battery cells of a cell column P are installed in a common cell holder in a battery module according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Figures 1 to 4 , a battery module 1 according to one embodiment of the present disclosure includes a cell holder 20 and a blocking portion 30 .

[0044] The plurality of battery cells 10 may be arranged in a plurality of columns. Each battery cell 10 may be formed in a cylindrical shape extending in the Z direction. The plurality of battery cells 10 may be arranged in parallel in the X direction. The battery cells 10 may be arranged in one column.

[0045] The battery cells 10 may be arranged in one column in the X direction, or the battery cells 10 arranged in one column may be arranged in two columns in the Y direction to form one cell column P. When the cell column P is formed into a two-column group, the battery cells 10 may be arranged to face each other in the Y direction or in a diagonal direction.

[0046] When the battery has a maximum capacity, the battery cells 10 may be arranged in the first to ninth cell columns P1 to P9. In addition, some of the first to ninth cell columns P1 to P9 may be omitted according to the set capacity of the battery.

[0047] The battery cell 10 may be a nickel-cadmium battery, a nickel-metal hydride battery, or a lithium-ion battery. Since the lithium-ion battery has an operating voltage about three times greater than that of a nickel-cadmium battery or a nickel-metal hydride battery widely used as a power source for portable electronic devices, and a high energy density per unit weight, the lithium-ion battery can be used for various purposes.

[0048] The cell holder 20 may be provided with a plurality of insertion regions H into which the battery cells 10 are inserted. The cell holder 20 may be standardized to accommodate the battery cells 10 arranged in the first to ninth cell columns P1 to P9 corresponding to the maximum capacity of the battery. That is, the battery cell 10 corresponding to the first cell column P1 may be inserted into the first insertion region H1. The battery cell 10 corresponding to the second cell column P2 may be inserted into the second insertion region H2. The battery cell 10 corresponding to the third cell column P3 may be inserted into the third insertion region H3. The battery cell 10 corresponding to the fourth cell column P4 may be inserted into the fourth insertion region H4. The battery cell 10 corresponding to the fifth cell column P5 may be inserted into the fifth insertion region H5. The battery cell 10 corresponding to the sixth cell column P6 may be inserted into the sixth insertion region H6. The battery cell 10 corresponding to the seventh cell column P7 may be inserted into the seventh insertion region H7. The battery cell 10 corresponding to the eighth cell column P8 may be inserted into the eighth insertion region H8. The battery cell 10 corresponding to the ninth cell column P9 may be inserted into the ninth insertion region H9 .

[0049] The cell holder 20 may be manufactured to allow insertion of all of the first to ninth cell columns P1 to P9, and some of the first to ninth cell columns P1 to P9 may be omitted to adjust the capacity of the battery according to the design concept. Therefore, even when the arrangement of the battery cells 10 is changed to form batteries with various capacities, one cell holder 20 may be commonly used.

[0050] The blocking portion 30 may cover the insertion region H into which the battery cell 10 is not inserted according to the design capacity. The blocking portion 30 may be coupled to any one of the inside and the outside of the cell holder 20 and may cover the hole formed in the cell holder 20 .

[0051] The barrier portion 30 may cover the insertion region H in units of columns. That is, one barrier portion 30 may cover any one of the first to ninth insertion regions H1 to H9.

[0052] The end of each of the battery cells 10 inserted into the cell holder 20 may be exposed to the outside through the hole formed in the cell holder 20, and the bus bar 40 installed in the cell holder 20 may connect the plurality of battery cells 10 arranged in the first cell column P1 to the ninth cell column P9 in parallel. The bus bar 40 may connect the first cell column P1 to the ninth cell column P9 in series.

[0053] When the battery cells 10 are mounted in the cell holder 20 and the battery cells 10 are electrically connected through the bus bar 40, a hardener not shown in the drawings may cover the upper portion of the cell holder 20. The hardener may include a polyurethane or (poly)silicone material, and may be hardened to improve the bonding strength between the cell holder 20 and the battery cells 10, and to securely fix the wire bonding of the bus bar 40.

[0054] Meanwhile, the blocking portion 30 may be provided on the insertion region H of the cell holder 20, in which the battery cell is omitted according to the design capacity of the battery, to cover the hole formed in the cell holder 20. When the blocking portion 30 covers the hole formed in the cell holder 20 and the hardener is injected, the hardener may be prevented from leaking through the hole formed in the cell holder 20.

[0055] Figure 5 is a schematic perspective plan view showing a single-body holder according to one embodiment of the present disclosure, Figure 6 is a schematic bottom perspective view showing a single-body holder according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Figure 5 and Figure 6 , the single body holder 20 may include a holder plate 22, a holder guide 23, and a holder insertion hole 24. The single body holder 20 may include an insulating material, and may be integrally injection molded.

[0056] The holder frame 21 may be formed to surround the battery cells 10. The holder frame 21 may be formed in a quadrangular band shape, and a plurality of battery cells 10 to be combined into the first to ninth cell columns P1 to P9 may be disposed inside the holder frame 21 in column units.

[0057] The holder plate 22 may cover one side of the holder frame 21 and restrict movement of the battery cells 10. The holder plate 22 may connect an upper portion of the holder frame 21. A groove may be formed in an upper surface of the holder plate 22, and the bus bar 40 may be inserted into the groove.

[0058] The holder guides 23 may be formed in the holder plate 22 and guide the insertion of the battery cells 10. The holder guides 23 may protrude downward from the holder plate 22 so that the corresponding battery cells 10 are inserted into the first to ninth cell columns P1 to P9.

[0059] The holder insertion hole 24 may be formed in the holder plate 22 and may expose a portion of the battery cell 10. The holder insertion hole 24 may be formed in the holder plate 22 disposed inside each of the holder guides 23.

[0060] The ends of the battery cells 10 inserted into the holder guides 23 may be in close contact with the holder plate 22, and a portion of the battery cells 10 may protrude through the holder insertion holes 24 and may be connected to the bus bar 40. The bus bar 40 may be disposed on the holder plate 22 and supported by the holder frame 21.

[0061] The single body holder 20 may further include a holder mounting portion 25. The holder mounting portion 25 may be formed on at least one of the holder plate 22 and the holder guide 23 and coupled to the blocking portion 30. A hole and a hook step may be formed at the holder mounting portion 25 to guide hooking.

[0062] Figure 7 is a schematic plan perspective view showing a blocking portion according to a first embodiment of the present disclosure, Figure 8 is a schematic bottom perspective view showing a blocking portion according to a first embodiment of the present disclosure, Fig. 9 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing a state in which a blocking portion according to a first embodiment of the present disclosure is coupled to a single body holder. Figures 7 to 9 , the blocking portion 30 according to the first embodiment may include a blocking block 50 .

[0063] The blocking block 50 may be installed in the cell holder 20 and cover the insertion area H. According to the design, some of the first to ninth cell columns P1 to P9 may be omitted in the general cell holder 20, and the blocking block 50 may cover the holder insertion hole 24 while being inserted into the cell holder 20. Thus, even when the battery cell 10 is omitted, the hardener may be prevented from leaking through the holder insertion hole 24.

[0064] More specifically, the blocking block 50 may include a blocking plate 51, a blocking protrusion 52, and a blocking hook 53. The blocking block 50 may be made of a resin material as an insulating material (or insulator), and the blocking plate 51, the blocking protrusion 52, and the blocking hook 53 may be integrally formed.

[0065] The blocking plate 51 may be formed in a plate shape and have a length corresponding to the insertion region H. The blocking plate 51 may be disposed to face any one of the first to ninth insertion regions H1 to H9.

[0066] One or more blocking protrusions 52 may be formed on the blocking plate 51 and may be inserted into the monomer holder 20. The blocking protrusion 52 may protrude upward from the blocking plate 51. The blocking protrusion 52 may have a size and position corresponding to the holder guide 23 formed in the insertion area H. The blocking protrusion 52 may be inserted into the holder guide 23. The blocking protrusion 52 may be press-fitted into the holder guide 23. A seal may be added between the blocking protrusion 52 and the holder guide 23.

[0067] The blocking hook 53 may be formed on at least any one of the blocking plate 51 and the blocking protrusion 52, and fixedly hooked on the single body holder 20. The blocking hook 53 may be formed on each of the plurality of blocking protrusions 52, or may be selectively provided on the plurality of blocking protrusions 52. The blocking hook 53 may have a hook shape, and may be fixedly hooked on the holder plate 22 after passing through the holder mounting portion 25 formed on the holder plate 22.

[0068] When some of the first to ninth cell columns P1 to P9 are omitted, the operator opens the holder guide 23 in a state where the cell holder 20 is turned over. When the holder guide 23 is opened, the blocking protrusion 52 is inserted into the holder guide 23 so that the blocking block 50 is disposed in the cell column P from which the battery cell 10 is omitted. In the process of inserting the blocking protrusion 52 into the holder guide 23, the blocking hook 53 is completely hooked to the holder mounting portion 25. In this case, the blocking protrusion 52 may be in close contact with the holder plate 22 to cover the holder insertion hole 24. A sealing process may be performed between the blocking protrusion 52 and the holder plate 22.

[0069] Fig.10 is a schematic plan perspective view showing a blocking portion according to a second embodiment of the present disclosure, Fig.11 is a schematic bottom perspective view showing a blocking portion according to a second embodiment of the present disclosure, and Fig.12 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing a state in which a blocking portion according to a second embodiment of the present disclosure is coupled to a single body holder. Figures 10 to 12 , the blocking portion 30 according to the second embodiment may include a blocking sheet 60 .

[0070] The blocking sheet 60 may be attached to the outside of the cell holder 20 and may cover the insertion area H. According to the design, in the general cell holder 20, the battery cells 10 may be omitted from some of the first to ninth cell columns P1 to P9, and the blocking sheet 60 may cover the holder insertion hole 24 while being attached to the upper side of the cell holder 20. Therefore, even when the battery cells 10 are omitted, the hardener may be prevented from leaking through the holder insertion hole 24.

[0071] The barrier sheet 60 may include a sheet plate 61 and a sheet adhesive 62 .

[0072] The sheet plate 61 may be made of an insulating material. The sheet plate 61 may be made of a material including a rigid resin material or a foam material capable of absorbing impact. The sheet plate 61 may be placed on the holder frame 21 or the holder plate 22 to cover any one or more of the first to ninth cell columns P1 to P9.

[0073] The sheet adhesive 62 may be formed on the sheet plate 61 and attached to the cell holder 20 . An upper surface of the sheet adhesive 62 may be attached to the sheet plate 61 , and a lower surface of the sheet adhesive 62 is attached to the holder plate 22 .

[0074] In addition, the sheet plate 61 and the sheet adhesive 62 may be integrated into an adhesive tape. When the sheet adhesive 62 is attached to both surfaces of the sheet plate 61, a double-sided tape may be formed.

[0075] The sheet plate 61 may include a plate body 65 and a plate interference preventing portion 66 .

[0076] The plate body 65 may cover the upper side of the cell holder 20 to cover any one of the first to ninth cell columns P1 to P9 .

[0077] The plate interference preventing portion 66 may be formed on the plate body 65 and prevent interference with the monomer holder 20. The plate interference preventing portion 66 may be formed in the length direction of the first side surface of the plate body 65. That is, grooves spaced apart from each other may be formed in the length direction of the first side surface of the plate body 65, and the first preventing portion 661 may be formed to protrude between the grooves. The first preventing portion 661 may have a quadrilateral shape. The plate interference preventing portion 66 may be formed in the length direction of the second side surface of the plate body 65. That is, grooves spaced apart from each other may be formed in the length direction of the second side surface of the plate body 65, and the second preventing portion 662 may be formed to protrude between the grooves. The second preventing portion 662 may have a stepped shape with steps formed at both sides. The third preventing portion 663 as a hole may be formed in the plate body 65, and the fourth preventing portion 664 as a hole may be formed in the first preventing portion 661. That is, the plate interference preventing portion 66 may include a first preventing portion 661, a second preventing portion 662, a third preventing portion 663, and a fourth preventing portion 664.
