[0078] The combination of the above compounds with the plant micronutrients according to the invention can be used as herbicides in unmodified form as obtained in the synthesis, but they are usually formulated into herbicidal compositions in various ways using formulation adjuvants (e.g. carriers, solvents and surface-active substances). Therefore, the present invention also relates to a herbicidal composition comprising, in addition to formulation adjuvants, a herbicidally effective amount of a compound of formula (I). The formulations may be in various physical forms, for example, in the form of dusting powders, gels, wettable powders, water-dispersible microgranules, water-dispersible tablets, effervescent pellets, emulsifiable concentrates, microemulsifiable concentrates, oil-in-water emulsions, flowable oils, aqueous dispersions, oily dispersions, suspoemulsions, capsule suspensions, emulsifiable microgranules, soluble liquids, water-soluble concentrates (using water or water-miscible organic solvents as carriers), impregnated polymer films or other forms known, for example, from the Manual on Development and Use of FAO Specifications for Plant Protection Products, 5th edition, 1999. The amount of oil additives in the composition according to the invention is generally from 0.01% to 10% based on the spray mixture. For example, the oil additive can be added to the spray tank in the desired concentration after the spray mixture has been prepared. Preferred oil additives include mineral oils or oils of vegetable origin, for example rapeseed oil, olive oil or sunflower oil; emulsified vegetable oils, for example ( -Poulenc Canada Inc.), alkyl esters of oils of vegetable origin, for example, methyl derivatives; or oils of animal origin, such as fish oil or tallow. Preferred additives contain, for example, essentially 80% by weight of alkyl esters of fish oil and 15% by weight of methylated rapeseed oil, as well as 5% by weight of conventional emulsifiers and pH regulators as active ingredients. Preferred surfactants are anionic surfactants of the dodecylbenzylsulfonate type, in particular the calcium salts thereof, and nonionic surfactants of the fatty alcohol ethoxylate type. Particularly preferred are ethoxylated C12-C22 fatty alcohols having a degree of ethoxylation of 5 to 40. Examples of commercially available surfactants are the Genapol types (Clariant AG). Also preferred are silicone surfactants, in particular polyalkyl-oxidized-modified heptamethyltrisiloxanes (which are available, for example, as Silwet L- Commercially available), and perfluorinated surfactants. Stereoisomers are isomers with the same composition but different arrangements of their atoms in space, and include enantiomers, diastereomers, cis-trans isomers (also referred to as geometric isomers) and atropisomers. Atropisomers are produced by restricted rotation around a single bond, where the rotational energy barrier is high enough to allow separation of isomeric substances. It will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that a stereoisomer may be more active and / or may exhibit beneficial effects when enriched relative to other stereoisomers or when separated from other stereoisomers. In addition, the technician knows how to separate, enrich and / or selectively prepare the stereoisomers. Compounds of the present disclosure may be used as mixtures of stereoisomers, individual stereoisomers or in optically active forms.

[0092] The above compounds can be used as herbicides. The method of treating plants and plant parts with the above-mentioned compositions can be carried out directly or by, for example, dipping, pouring, chemical irrigation (chemigation), spraying, evaporation, atomization, scattering, spraying, injection and / or seed coating (seed coating) to allow the composition to act on its surrounding environment, habitat or storage space.

[0093] Compositions can be applied using methods known in the art. Specifically, disclosed compositions can be applied to plants or plant parts. In this context, plants are understood to mean all plants and plant populations, such as required and unwanted wild plants or crop plants (including naturally occurring crop plants). [0119] In certain embodiments, the compositions and herbicidal compounds are derived from Burkholderia strain A396 (NRRL B-50319).

[0120] The substances and compositions can also be used to regulate emergence in pre-emergence or post-emergence formulations of monocotyledonous, sedge or dicotyledonous weeds. In particular embodiments, the weeds can be Palmer amaranth, western amaranth, quinoa, ramie, sunflower, ragweed, Amaranthus retroflexus, field bindweed, field mustard, medicinal dandelion, nightshade, roundleaf mallow, golden foxtail, upland brome, bluegrass, bluegrass, Palmer amaranth, perennial ryegrass var. Pace, tall fescue var. Aztec II, Anthem II, LS1100, barnyard grass and / or lettuce.

[0121] Herbicidal synergy. In one embodiment, the herbicidal composition of sepristatin C and an effective amount of a plant micronutrient can exhibit herbicidal synergy when applied with stearyl alcohol by swirling and / or tank mixing.

[0122] Herbicidal synergy. In one embodiment, the herbicidal composition of FR901464 and an effective amount of a plant micronutrient can exhibit herbicidal synergy when applied with stearyl alcohol by swirling and / or tank mixing.

[0123] Herbicidal synergy can be measured by methods known in the art. For example, using Colby's formula, where when the ratio is greater than 1, it indicates synergy.

[0124] Surprisingly and unexpectedly, there was a synergistic effect between effective amounts of plant micronutrients and sipristin C, showing enhanced herbicidal activity. Iron has been reported to have antagonistic effects on many herbicides (Zollinger, 2010), and iron-containing compounds are known to degrade herbicides (i.e., Baloochi et al., 2018). In addition, zinc is commonly used to degrade traditional herbicides (Heena Khan and Pathak, 2020), which is in stark contrast to our findings in the present invention; zinc has also been cited as a constituent component of the controlled release of quinclorac (Mohd Sharifah et al., 2020).

[0125] The present invention enhances the effectiveness of killed Burkholderia rinojensis a396 based herbicides (BRBH) by adding selected plant micronutrients to the spray solution, potentially allowing lower application rates.

[0126] In one embodiment, the present composition comprises an effective amount of sepristin C and an effective amount of plant micronutrients, which are formulated with known inert chemical stabilizers and adjuvants. In addition, these herbicides are usually used in tank mixes with common adjuvants (particularly methylated seed oils and silicone surfactants, which are known to help the herbicide penetrate the leaf cuticle and fill the stomata, respectively).

[0127] The present composition comprises an effective amount of sipristin C and an effective amount of a plant micronutrient to enhance plant phloem activity, thereby: (a) increasing leaf uptake and / or (b) increasing transport of the active molecule to higher growth areas of the target plant, thereby reducing the chance of plant recovery after treatment. This is due to the operation of the phloem, the role of nutrients in photosynthesis, and the corresponding effects on overall plant metabolism (see Boundless, 2021; Jensen et al., 2013).

[0128] In addition, the effective amount of sipristin C and the effective amount of plant micronutrients disclosed herein generally improve the metabolic activity of plants. The plant micronutrients include iron, zinc and / or molybdenum. Zinc can be in chelated form. Zinc may be in the form of zinc picolinate, zinc acetate, zinc monomethyl sulfide, zinc glycerate, zinc citrate and zinc sulfate, and iron may be in the form of ferrous fumarate, ferrous gluconate, ferrous glutamate, ammonium ferric citrate, ferrous glycinate, ferrous succinate and ferrous sulfate.

[0129] In the following data, all MBI-015 treatments included the standard adjuvant Dyne-Amic (a combination of methylated seed oil and silicone surfactant). Therefore, all improvements in efficacy were above and beyond the effects of the other adjuvants. Zinc- and iron-based fertilizers with lower and higher rates of MBI-015 increased control of Amaranthus tricolor by 96% and 78%, respectively.

[0130] The MBI-015 in the treatment is a preparation of an inactivated whole cell broth of Burkholderia rennogii A396 for optimizing the content of spristatin C and herbicidal use. Amaranth plants are planted in a 2.5 square centimeter pot in a greenhouse to the 3-4 leaf stage, containing a plant growth mixture and a slow-release fertilizer. Then a research cabinet track sprayer equipped with an 8001 nozzle is used and applied with a carrier volume of 20gal / A for treatment. The negative control is sprayed with water. After spraying, the flower pots are grouped and randomized by treatment and placed in a growth chamber at 25°C and 50%RH and watered as needed. Six days after application, the visual damage of the plant is evaluated using a 0-5 scale, where 0 means no control and complete health, and 5 means plant death or complete control. The scores of five replicates are averaged for each treatment and multiplied by 20 to obtain a percentage control. Data were subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA) and means were separated with 95% confidence intervals using Tukey's method.

[0131] Figure 1 is a graph of the phytotoxicity of MBI-015 and fertilizers at 0.5 or 1 ug / mL rates. Different letters represent significantly different groups using Tukey HSD. Bars represent standard errors.

[0132]

[0133] H2H Organic 0-2-0 liquid fertilizer obtained from California Safe Soil was used for H2H / Phosphate, which is a 2% phosphate form. The advantage is that very small amounts of selected micronutrients can significantly enhance the herbicidal activity of the inactivated Burkholderia rennogi (a396) based herbicide. Based on the supporting data above, the estimated amount of each tested plant nutrient required to cover one acre is shown in the table below. It should be noted that the estimated amounts of macronutrients (potassium and phosphorus) will significantly exceed the expected application rate of the inactivated Burkholderia rennogi (a396) based herbicide itself.

[0134]

[0135] The present invention shows that iron and / or zinc can enhance the activity of herbicides based on inactivated Burkholderia rennogii (a396). These micronutrients and yucca extract were the two main components of the fertilizers tested in the above experiments.
