[0123]

[0124] By containing either or both of the structural unit derived from the compound represented by the above formula (2) and the structural unit derived from the compound represented by the above formula (3), the polyimide is soluble in a solvent and has no color and is extremely excellent in colorlessness.

[0136] Example

[0137] The present invention is specifically described below by way of examples, but the present invention is not limited by these examples.

[0138] Evaluation of the varnishes obtained in Examples and Comparative Examples was performed by the following methods.

[0139] (1) Yellowness Index (Yellowness, YI)

[0140] The yellowness (YI) of the polyimide varnish obtained in the examples and comparative examples was measured by placing the polyimide varnish in a measuring cell having a cell length (measurement thickness) of 10 mm using a color / turbidity simultaneous measuring device "COH7700" manufactured by Nippon Denshoku Industries Co., Ltd. The smaller the yellowness (YI), the better the colorlessness. For the polyimide varnish used for the measurement of the yellowness (YI), N,N-dimethylacetamide was added as a diluting solvent, and after confirming that it became uniform, the polyimide varnish was stored at room temperature (25°C) for 16 hours.
