[0003] Acknowledgment herein of the above references should not be inferred as an indication that such references are in any way relevant to the patentability of the presently disclosed subject matter. Summary of the invention

[0004] According to a first aspect of the disclosed subject matter, there is provided an apparatus for a child user, configurable between a first mode in which the apparatus can be connected to a stroller as a stroller plate and a second mode in which the apparatus can be used as a stand-alone ride-on toy. The apparatus comprises: a platform that can be connected to the stroller at a first end of the platform in the first mode of the apparatus; at least two under-platform wheels; and a head member adjacent an opposite second end of the platform having a handle and head member wheels that are usable in at least the second mode of the apparatus. The under-platform wheels and the head member wheels are selectively operable to roll on a surface such that in the second mode of the apparatus, the under-platform wheels constitute rear wheels and the head member wheels constitute front wheels, whereas in the first mode of the apparatus, the head member wheels constitute rear wheels and the under-platform wheels may or may not be used.

[0005] The platform has an underside portion, an upper surface, and an axis of symmetry, the axis of symmetry being horizontally oriented in both the first mode and the second mode of the device, such that the first platform end and the second platform end are spaced apart along the axis of symmetry. The under-platform wheels are connected to the platform so as to be disposed below the platform in at least the second mode of the device. Optionally, the under-platform wheels are at least indirectly connected to the underside portion of the platform.

[0006] The head member has an upper end, a lower end and an elongated portion therebetween. The upper end is associated with a handle, and the lower end is associated with a head member wheel. In certain embodiments, the head member wheel is held by a head member wheel holder associated with the lower end of the head member.

[0007] According to a second aspect of the disclosed subject matter, in a device according to the first aspect and / or any aspect described below, the head member is configurable between an operative state and a non-operative state, in which the elongated portion is oriented transversely to the platform and is located above a plane defined by the platform at least along a majority of its height so that a handle can be accessed for use of the device in the second mode; in the non-operative state, at least the position and orientation of the elongated portion is different from the operative state, and the handle and the elongated portion are positioned so as not to interfere with use of the device in the first mode as much as possible. In some embodiments, at least a portion of the head member can be manipulated between an upright raised position in the operative state and a lowered position in the non-operative state. In some embodiments, when the head member is in the lowered position, at least a portion of the elongated portion extends along the platform. In some embodiments, when the head member is in the lowered position, at least a portion of the elongated portion and the handle are located below the platform, optionally, arranged parallel to the platform. In some embodiments, the device may further include a head member locking device for selectively locking the head member in the operative state and / or the non-operative state. In some embodiments, the head member is pivotable relative to the head member wheel holder between the operative state and the non-operative state. In some embodiments, the inoperative state of the head member is characterized by at least the elongated portion extending at least partially along the axis of symmetry, such as when the head member is disposed in a parallel orientation relative to the platform (eg, below the platform).

[0008] In some embodiments, the head member is at least partially telescopic and can be extended to assume an upright raised position and retracted to assume a lowered position. Optionally, the length of the telescopic head member can be adjusted to adapt the height of the handle to a specific child user.

[0009] In some embodiments, the head member may be detachable from the device, for example, by means of a connector disposed at a lower end of the elongated portion of the head member, which connector provides a removable coupling of the head member.

[0010] According to a third aspect of the disclosed subject matter, the device of the first aspect and / or the second aspect and / or any aspect described below may include a rod at least indirectly attached to the underside of the platform. The rod extends along an axis of symmetry along at least a majority thereof and has a first rod end and a second rod end spaced apart along the axis of symmetry. The first rod end is at least indirectly connectable to the stroller to allow use of the device in the first mode.

[0011] In some embodiments, the rod can be connected to the stroller via a connector, which can be integrally or monolithically formed with the rod, or removably and securely mounted thereto. The rod can be moved along the axis of symmetry to move the connector between a first state and a second state, in which the connector extends from the first platform end and in which the connector is closer to the second platform end of the platform than in the first state, both states being shown in a plan view of the device. Alternatively, or in addition to being at least indirectly connectable to the stroller, the rod can also be at least indirectly connected to the head member via the second rod end. When the head member wheel is retained by the head member wheel retainer, the head member can be connected to the second rod end via the head member wheel retainer.

[0012] In some embodiments, the device further comprises a housing through which the rod is attached to the platform. The housing may be attached to the lower side of the platform for holding the rod, or may be integrally or integrally formed with the lower side of the platform. In some embodiments, the housing has an opening in the direction of the first and second platform ends, and at least the corresponding first and second rod ends may extend through these openings in the corresponding directions. In some embodiments, the rod may slide relative to the housing. In some embodiments, the rod may slide relative to the housing between at least two states, in one of which the second rod end having the head member is spaced farther from the second platform end along the axis of symmetry than in another state.

[0013] In some embodiments, the manipulation of the head member from an operable state to an inoperable state, such as by pivoting, also causes the rod to slide within its housing, allowing the connector associated with the first rod end to extend outward from the platform, while reducing the space between the head member wheel holder and the platform, which was previously occupied by the rod and is now pushed further below the platform. In some embodiments, the pivoting of the head member is achieved by the user (parent) grasping the handle and then rotating the head member in a circular motion, first away from the platform, and then back below the platform, where the head member can be stored in an inoperable state. This movement causes the rod to be pushed to slide within its housing toward the other end of the platform.

[0014] When the head member is movable between an operative state and a non-operative state, and the non-operative state of the head member is characterized in that its elongated portion extends at least partially along the axis of symmetry and is disposed below the platform, the elongated portion of the head member may include a recess, and when the head member is in the non-operative state, the shell is at least partially accommodated in the recess.

[0015] In some embodiments of the device according to any of the above aspects, it may also include a seating unit that extends upward from the platform for use in at least the second mode of the device. The seating unit can be integral with the platform, or the seating unit can be selectively connected to the platform, such as by a quick release mechanism. As described herein, the seating unit may include a seating unit composed of multiple components (e.g., a seat, a seat connector, etc.), or, alternatively, the seating unit is configured as a whole. Typically, the seating unit includes a column extending from the upper surface of the platform and a seat mounted on the column.

[0016] According to another aspect of the disclosed subject matter, in a device according to any one of the aforementioned aspects and / or the aspects described below, the platform can have a shape that is narrower at its portion including the second platform end than at its portion adjacent to the first platform end. In some embodiments, the platform is narrow enough at least near the second platform end so that when the device is used in the second mode, there is free space near the opposite sides of the narrow portion of the platform and in front of the opposite portion of the wide portion of the platform for a child user facing the head member and sitting on its seat (if any) or standing on the platform with one foot to step on the ground at a position corresponding to the above-mentioned free space. The platform can also be wide enough at least near the first end so that when the device is used in the first mode, the upper surface of the platform has enough area near the first end so that the child user can place her / his feet on the platform closer to the first end than to the second end.

[0017] One way in which this can be achieved in an apparatus according to any of the aspects described above and / or below is that the platform is shaped so that in at least one plan view of the apparatus, at least in its second mode, there are free spaces located outside the diagonals, each diagonal extending between the centre point of the seat (as viewed in plan) and the respective end point of the platform's wide portion furthest from the first platform end. These spaces are free of any apparatus element including the platform.

[0018] In some embodiments, the wide portion of the platform extends along at least 50% of the length of the platform measured along the axis of symmetry. In some embodiments, at least near the second platform end, the narrow portion extends in a direction perpendicular to the axis of symmetry for no more than 50% of the length of the wide portion measured in a direction perpendicular to the axis of symmetry. In some embodiments, the narrow portion tapers in the direction of the second platform end. In some embodiments, the width of the wide portion of the platform perpendicular to the axis of symmetry is at least 30 centimeters.

[0019] For example, a platform having the geometry described herein may facilitate dual use of the device because, in stroller mode, the platform provides a large enough surface for a child user to place their feet; in ride mode, the platform is narrow enough to enable the child user to step onto the sides of the platform and the ground in the created space to propel the device forward.

[0020] It is noted that in some embodiments, the platform may be shaped in other ways, such as, for example, a "T" shape, wherein the upper portion of the "T" is adjacent to the first end and is wide enough to accommodate a child's foot.

[0021] According to another aspect of the presently disclosed subject matter, in an apparatus according to any one or more aspects of the presently disclosed subject matter described above or below, the under-platform wheels are connected to a lower portion of the platform so as to be switchable between an operational state, in which, in a second mode of the apparatus, the lowest point of the wheels defines a reference plane of the apparatus and the under-platform wheels can roll along a surface (e.g., the ground), and in a non-operating (storage) state, in a first mode of the apparatus, the under-platform wheels are located above the reference plane.

[0022] In some embodiments, each under-platform wheel is connected to the platform by an under-platform wheel retainer that is manipulable to move the wheel from an operational state in which it can roll on the surface to a non-operational state in which it cannot roll. Thus, in some embodiments, the under-platform wheel retainer can be manipulable between a lowered position and a raised position in which the under-platform wheel is in an operational state and is oriented vertically, and in a raised position in which the wheel is in a non-operational state and has the same or a different orientation than in the operational state. In some embodiments, the under-platform wheel retainer can pivot to change the orientation of the under-platform wheel from a vertical orientation relative to the platform to a non-vertical orientation. In some embodiments, when in the non-operational state, the plane defined by each under-platform wheel forms an angle of less than 90 degrees with a reference plane, optionally in the range of 0-45 degrees.

[0023] A potential advantage of the wheels being raised off the ground when the platform is in stroller-board mode is that the device is at least partially supported by the stroller itself (e.g., by the wheels of the stroller), which can provide smoother movement between the connected stroller and the device and potentially improve maneuverability. With this connection, the device becomes a direct extension of the stroller, with the distance between the stroller and the device being relatively small, thereby potentially reducing interference with an adult user (parent) pushing the stroller when the device is connected to the stroller.

[0024] In some embodiments, a support member may be provided for each under-platform wheel holder, one end of the support member being connected to the under-platform wheel holder and the other end being connected to the underside portion of the platform, and the support member being movable or foldable to allow the above-mentioned movement of the under-platform wheel holder. In some embodiments, the support member provides diagonal support for holding the wheel in an operational state, such as a vertical orientation relative to the platform, and may prevent the wheel from undesirably pivoting to a non-operational state.

[0025] In some embodiments, when in a non-operating state in a first mode of the device, the under-platform wheel is positioned to be at least partially covered by the head member or handle when the head member is in the non-operating state, thereby preventing the under-platform wheel retainer from being manipulated, for example, preventing the under-platform wheel from pivoting to a vertical orientation relative to the platform.

[0026] According to another aspect of the disclosed subject matter, at least when used in the first mode, the device of any of the above aspects includes a connector having at least one state in which it extends outwardly from the first platform end, at least as shown in a plan view of the device, and is operable to be securely connected to a connector-engageable element of the stroller, for example at a location arranged at the rear side of the stroller, such as a low rear bar of the stroller, which extends between the stroller legs, the legs themselves and / or any other rear portion of the stroller frame.

[0027] In some embodiments, the connector includes a body having an opening in which the connector-engageable element of the stroller is received. In some embodiments, the opening extends along an axis perpendicular to the axis of symmetry. In some embodiments, when the connector-engageable element of the stroller is a stroller low bar extending between its legs, the connector is configured to be mounted on the low bar along at least a portion of the length of the low bar. In some embodiments, the opening maintains the same orientation, generally facing the ground, in all states of the connector. This may be advantageous because the connector does not need to be manipulated when connecting the device to the stroller.

[0028] Some embodiments may include other forms of connectors, such as hook-type connectors, latch-type connectors, quick-release connectors, strap-type connectors, and / or any other suitable connector for securely attaching the device to a stroller.

[0029] According to yet another aspect of the disclosed subject matter, the device according to any of the above aspects can also be configured in a third storage mode, in which at least the head member and its handle, the under-platform wheels and the optional connector (if any) are disposed below the platform. In the storage mode, the device presents a compact configuration that may be small enough to fit in a storage basket of a stroller, a car truck, etc.

[0030] According to yet another aspect of the disclosed subject matter, there is provided a device configured to be removably attached to a stroller as a stroller panel and comprising, at least in use: a platform having an upper surface adapted to support a child user thereon; a rod at least indirectly attached to the underside of the platform; a connector associated with the rod and removably connected to the stroller; and a wheel at least indirectly connected to the second end of the platform. The platform has an axis of symmetry, a first platform end and a second platform end spaced apart along the axis of symmetry, and a rod extending along at least a majority of the axis of symmetry. The rod has a first rod end and a second rod end, the connector is associated with the first rod end and the wheel is associated with the second rod end, and the rod is operable to cause the connector to extend outwardly from the first platform end in at least a first state of the connector, at least as shown in a plan view of the device. The connector may be removably and securely mounted to the first end of the rod, or may be integrally or monolithically formed therewith. In some embodiments, the rod is at least indirectly slidably mounted to the underside of the platform and is operable to move the connector between at least a first state in which the connector extends outwardly from the first platform end and a second state in which the connector is located below the platform. In some embodiments, the connector is a connector according to the above aspects of the disclosed subject matter. In some embodiments, the rod has an adjustable length between its first end and the second end. Optionally, the rod is retractable. Optionally, the rod can be selectively locked in multiple positions along its sliding range.

[0031] In some embodiments, the device further comprises a housing attached to the underside of the platform for holding the rod to the platform. The housing has openings in the direction of the first and second platform ends, and at least a portion of the rod protrudes through each opening.

[0032] In some embodiments, the connector includes a body having an opening in which the connector-engageable element of the stroller is received. In some embodiments, the opening extends along an axis perpendicular to the axis of symmetry. In some embodiments, when the connector-engageable element of the stroller is a stroller lower rod extending between its legs, the connector is configured to be mounted on the lower rod along at least a portion of the length of the lower rod. In some embodiments, the opening maintains the same orientation, generally facing the ground, in all states of the connector. This may be advantageous because the connector does not need to be manipulated when the device is connected to the stroller.

[0033] In some embodiments, the device includes one or more locking mechanisms for keeping the device components in a selected position, state and / or orientation. In one example, the rod is configured to be locked in a selected configuration relative to the rod receiving housing. For example, this can be achieved by a plurality of axially spaced holes formed in the rod and optionally in the rod receiving housing, wherein a spring biased button assembly is received respectively to prevent the axis of the rod from sliding. In another example, the head member is configured to be locked in one or both of an operable state and an inoperable state. For example, this can be achieved by an internal locking member of the head member, which is selectively accommodated in a designated slot structure of the wheel retainer, and the slot structure is arranged to match the orientation of the head member in an operable state (upright orientation) and an inoperable state (lowered orientation). In some embodiments, the internal locking member is controlled by a handle release mechanism, and the handle release mechanism is optionally located below the handle. For example, the handle release mechanism is activated by manual pressing to move the internal locking member to a position that does not interfere with the pivoting of the head member, allowing the head member to pivot between an operable state and an inoperable state. In some embodiments, if the head member is telescopic, the handle release mechanism can be configured to allow the head member to be lengthened or shortened when pressed, such as to adjust the height of the handle.

[0034] As generally described herein, when referring to a certain mode of a device, it should be understood that in some embodiments, the provided device may include only this mode. For example, the device can only be used as a stroller board, or can only be used as a ride-on toy. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0100] Referring now more particularly to the drawings, the apparatus 10 according to the presently disclosed subject matter is configurable between several operating modes, including a first stroller board mode, indicated at 110; a second ride (toy) mode, indicated at 111; and optionally, a third storage mode, indicated at 112. In this regard, the reader is first referred to Figures 1A to 1E . Comparison reference Figures 1A to 1E , the reader will consider Figure 1A The storage mode 112 is generally depicted; Figure 1B and Figure 1D A generally depicted riding mode 111 ; and Figure 1C and Figure 1E 1 and 10. In the storage mode 112, the device 10 assumes a compact configuration and cannot be independently moved along the support or ground surface 100. For example, the device 10 can be configured in the third storage mode 112 when the seat unit 20 is removed from the device, the head member 19 of the device 10 is in a lowered, inoperable position or separated from the platform, and / or one or more of the wheels 17 under the platform are folded into their non-operational state.

[0101] In such Figure 1B , Figure 1D , Figure 3 , Figure 4 and Figure 19 to Figure 21 In the illustrated seating mode 111, the device 10 can be used independently by a child user 11. The child user 11 can sit on the seat unit 20 of the device 10 while placing his or her feet on a support or ground surface 100 and pushing against the ground surface 100 with his or her feet as indicated by vector 107, thereby propelling the device 10 forward as indicated by vector 106. Figure 5B Further depiction and reference are made to vectors 106 and 107. Figure 1C , Figure 1E , Figure 2A , Figure 2B and Figures 11 to 18 In the stroller panel configuration 110 shown, the device 10 may be coupled to a stroller 12 or other similar traction device such that when the stroller 12 or traction device is pushed, the device 10 moves therewith and is at least partially supported by the stroller 12 and traction device.

[0102] In addition, for example, in the riding mode 111, the child user 11 can use the head member 19 of the device 10 to control the steering device. In some examples, for example, the height of the platform (the distance between the upper surface of the platform and the support or the ground) is significantly lower than the height of the handle 35 of the head member 19 (from the ground or other support surface), so that the user can easily access the handle when sitting on the seat unit 20. For example, in some examples, in the riding mode 111, the height of the platform can be 10%, 20%, 30% or 40% of the height of the handle 35 of the head member 19. In some examples, the connection between the head member and the platform is closer to the end of the head member that is closer to the wheel (therefore, closer to the ground or other support surface), and away from the end where the handle of the head member is located. In order to achieve the connection, the device 10 includes a connection arrangement or connector 18, which is operable to connect the device 10 to the stroller 12 or traction device. Connector 18 may be connected to a connector-engageable element of the stroller, for example, to a frame of stroller 12, a leg of stroller 12, a wheel holder of stroller 12, or to any other suitable portion of stroller 12 that allows device 10 to be connected to stroller 12 under the direction or push of a parent or caregiver. Figure 1C The device 10 is shown connected to an exemplary lower bar 15 of a stroller 12. A partial portion of the lower bar 15 is provided at Figure 2A , Figure 2B , Figure 11 to Figure 14 , Figure 16 to Figure 18 , Fig. 22 , Fig.24 and Fig.25 10, to help the reader understand how the connector 18 is attached to the lower bar 15. In the stroller board mode 110, the child user 11 can sit or stand on the device 10 while optionally placing their hands on a portion of the stroller 12, such as the stroller handle 13 or the infant carrier portion 14, as shown. Figure 1C shown.

[0103] It should be appreciated that the device 10 according to the disclosed subject matter is configured to selectively switch between at least two of the above-described modes by making at least some portions of the device 10 manipulable relative to other portions of the device 10, as will be described in greater detail herein. For example, in some examples, the device can be selectively switch between a stroller board mode and a ride mode by at least manipulating a head member between an inoperable state and an operable state, respectively. In the operable state, the elongated portion of the head member can extend transversely to the platform and can be accessed to the handle to use the device, and in the inoperable state, the elongated portion and the handle can be positioned to minimize interference with use of the device in the stroller board mode.

[0104] Generally, to minimize interference with use of the device, the elongated portion and handle may be removed from the platform, pivoted to a position below the platform, or repositioned relative to the platform to avoid (or reduce) interference with use of the device.

[0105] In some examples, the device can be configured to selectively switch between a stroller board mode and a ride mode at least by making one or more under-platform wheels maneuverable between a non-operational state and an operation state, respectively. In the operation state, such as in the ride mode of the device, the lowest point of the wheel can define a reference plane for the device and the under-platform wheel can roll along the ground. In the non-operational state, in the stroller board mode of the device, one or more under-platform wheels can be located above the reference plane.

[0106] In general, the under-platform wheel can be shifted between an operative state and an inoperative state, for example by pivotal movement (e.g., by folding the wheel), linear movement (e.g., vertical movement of the wheel), or detachment from the platform. Thus, the apparatus can include a mechanism or arrangement suitable for allowing one or more movements of the under-platform wheel relative to the platform and / or detachability of the under-platform wheel relative to the platform. In some examples, the under-platform wheel can be at least indirectly (i.e., directly or indirectly) connected to the platform via such an arrangement or mechanism or its equivalent.

[0107] refer to Figure 2A and Figure 2B For example, the reader will consider the rear and front perspective views, respectively, of the device 10 in the stroller mode 110 and equipped with the removable seat unit 20. As previously described, in Figures 11 to 18 Further shown in FIG. 1 is a stroller panel mode 110 . Figures 11 to 15 Various views of the device 10 are shown in the stroller panel mode 110 with the removable seat unit 20 assembled thereon. Figures 16 to 18 The apparatus 10 is shown with the removable seating unit 20 removed therefrom.

[0108] exist Figure 1B and Figure 1D The riding mode 111 is generally shown in FIG. Figure 3 , Figure 4 and Figures 19 to 21 The riding mode is shown in Figure 2. Figure 3 and Figure 4 , the reader will Figure 3 and Figure 4 Consider Figure 3 The device 10 is shown in a seating mode 111 with a seat unit 20. Figure 4The removable seat unit 20 enables the child user 11 to comfortably sit on the device 10 in the riding mode 111, or to remove the seat unit 20 to free up additional space on the platform 16 at the user's option. Typically, the child user 11 will use the device 10 with the removable seat unit 20 assembled. However, in some cases, the seat unit 20 can be removed in the riding mode 111. The seat unit 20 can also be removed in the stroller board mode 110 to enable the user to stand on the platform, for example, while being towed by a stroller 12 or other similar traction device. Figures 16 to 18 This configuration is generally shown.

[0109] Typically, the platform 16 may include a seat mounting area having a seat mounting arrangement where the seat unit 20 may be removably connected to the platform. In some examples, the seat mounting area may include a seat connector receiving hole 33 that forms at least a portion of the seat mounting arrangement into which a portion of the seat unit may be received to mount the seat unit to the platform.

[0110] The device 10 according to an exemplary embodiment of the presently disclosed subject matter generally includes the following major components: a platform assembly or platform 16; at least two under-platform wheels 17 connected to the platform 16; a connector arrangement or connector 18; a head member 19 that is manipulable between an operative state and an inoperative state; and a removable seat unit 20. Notably, in the stroller board mode 110, the under-platform wheels 17 are retractable (or otherwise away from a reference plane) such that the connector 18 supports the first platform end 23 of the platform 16 and the device 10, and the under-platform wheels 17 are retracted to a storage state (or inoperative state) in which the wheels are raised from the reference plane 115. In addition, by Figures 2A to 4 In a comparative review, the reader will particularly note that the head member 19 can be reconfigured according to the mode configuration.

[0111] In the example shown, Figure 3 and Figure 4 In the illustrated seating configuration 111, the head member 19 is extended upwardly relative to the platform 16 so that the child user 11 can grasp the laterally opposed handles 35 located at the upper end 49 of the head member 19. Figure 2A and Figure 2B In the stroller panel mode 110 shown, the head member 19 and the handle 35 are reconfigured to be located below the platform 16. To achieve these configurations, the head member 19 can be pivoted about the pivot axis 108 as shown by arrow 109. Figures 2A to 3It will be appreciated that the head member 19 is configurable between: (a) an operable state in which the elongated portion 51 thereof extends transversely to the platform 16 and is accessible to the handle 35 when the device 10 is used in the second or seating mode 111; and (b) an inoperable state in which the elongated portion 51 and the handle 35 are positioned to avoid forming an obstruction when the device 10 is used in the first or stroller mode 110.

[0112] In general, the platform arrangement or platform 16 can have a shape that allows a child user to place his / her feet on the platform 16 when using the device in the stroller mode, and allows the user to place his / her feet on the second platform end 24 when using the device in the ride mode, for example as shown in a plan view of the device. When sitting on the seat unit while on the ground outside and / or near (along its contour). For example, in the stroller board mode, the child user can face the direction of travel of the device, that is, the direction extending from the second platform end 24 to the first platform end 23, and the user can place his / her feet on the platform. In the riding mode, the child user can face the direction of travel of the device, that is, the direction extending from the first platform end 23 to the second platform end 24, and the user can place his / her feet outside the second platform end 24. The platform 16 can have a length in the direction extending between the first platform end and the second platform end, and a width perpendicular to the length. The length of the platform can extend along a centrally extending axis of symmetry. The axis of symmetry can pass through the corresponding center points of the first platform end and the second platform end. In some examples, the length of the platform can be the largest at the axis of symmetry and decrease as measured away from the axis of symmetry along the width of the platform. The length of the platform can be the smallest at the width-direction end of the platform. The length of the platform can vary at least according to the shape of the second platform end. For example, the shape of the second platform end may be such that a center point of the second platform end is farthest from the first platform end and the second platform end becomes closer to the first platform end as it extends outward from its center point.

[0113] In some examples, the second platform end may have a generally curved shape along a majority thereof, such as schematically shown in FIG. Fig.53A and Fig.53B In some examples, the second platform end may have a substantially linear shape along a majority of the second platform end, such as schematically shown in FIG. Fig.53C and Fig.53D shown.

[0114] FIG. 5A to FIG. 10 A platform arrangement or platform 16 is generally shown in accordance with an illustrative example of the disclosed subject matter. Figure 5A and Figure 5B A top view of the platform 16 is shown, Figure 6 A bottom view of the platform is shown. Figures 7 to 10 A further view of the platform 16 is shown. Figure 7 is a top perspective view of the platform 16 as viewed from the second platform end 24; Figure 8 is a bottom perspective view of the platform 16 as viewed from the first platform end 23; Fig. 9 is an exploded view of the platform 16 in the stroller panel mode 110; Fig.10 is an exploded view of the platform 16 in the ride mode 111. The platform arrangement or platform 16 includes Figure 6 The lower portion 21 or lower bracket is particularly shown, and Figure 5A and 5B The platform 16 extends between a first platform end 23 and a second platform end 24, which are spaced apart along a horizontally oriented, centrally extending symmetry axis 101, as shown in FIG. Figure 5A and Figure 5B As generally shown and referenced.

[0115] The platform upper surface 22 is sized to accommodate the feet of a child user 11 sitting or standing on the device 10. For ease of illustration, a generic footprint is shown at a dashed footprint outline 25 to indicate relative foot positions on the platform upper surface 22 or the ground surface 100, depending on the device application or mode configuration. In some embodiments, the platform 16 includes a relatively narrow platform width, as shown at 102, or narrows or tapers in the direction of the second platform end 24; and also includes a relatively wide platform width of at least 30 centimeters, as shown at 103, or a wide platform portion adjacent to the first platform end 23. In some embodiments, the narrow portion at the second platform end 24 extends in a direction perpendicular to the axis of symmetry 101 by no more than 50% of the width 103 of the wide portion, the width 103 being measured in a direction perpendicular to the axis of symmetry 101. The first platform end 23 is partially defined by laterally opposed side wall portions 26, and the second platform end 24 is partially defined by laterally opposed side wall portions 27. In some embodiments, sidewall portion 27 is angled relative to generally parallel sidewall portion 26 , such as angle 113 , to narrow second platform end 24 relative to first platform end 23 .

[0116] The relatively narrow platform width 102 of the platform 16 is sufficiently narrow at least at or adjacent the second platform end 24 so that when the device 10 is used in the seating mode 111, a child user 11 seated on the seat unit 20 can step on the ground surface 100 with their feet adjacent opposite sides of the platform 16 and laterally adjacent the sidewall portions 27, such as Figure 5B The dotted footprint outline 25 is generally shown in FIG. Figure 5B and Fig.11 , the reader will consider certain plan views of the platform 16 and the apparatus 10 in the second seating configuration 111. The space shown at 60 is located outside of the diagonals 116 defined by the laterally opposed side wall portions 27, whereby each diagonal 116 extends at least partially between a center point 61 of the seating unit (in plan view) 20 and a corresponding endpoint 62 of the wide portion of the platform 16.

[0117] The spaces 60 are located farthest from the first platform end 23 and are free of any device elements including the platform 16. The feet of a child user located at the dotted footprint outline 25 can be located in these spaces 60. The relatively wide platform width 103 is wide enough at least near the first platform end 23 so that when the device 10 is used in the stroller panel mode 110, a child user 11 sitting on the seat unit 20 can place his or her feet on the upper surface 22 of the platform 16, or can be placed as shown in the figure. Figure 5A The device 10 is generally positioned on the upper surface 22 of the platform 16 as generally depicted by the dotted footprint outline 25 in FIG. The pulling direction of the device 10 in the stroller mode is generally determined by Figure 5A 10. When in the stroller board mode 110, the child user 11 generally faces the towing direction 114. In the riding mode 111, the child user 11 generally reverses his or her orientation relative to the device 10, and as previously described, the child user 11 generally may sit on the seat unit 20 of the device 10. When so seated, the child user 11 may place his or her feet on the support or ground surface 100, as generally shown by the dashed footprint outline 25 within the space 60. The child user 11 may then push against the ground surface 100 with his or her feet at vector 107 to propel the device 10 forward as indicated by vector 106, as shown in FIG. Figure 5B Roughly described and referenced in.

[0118] Comparison reference Figures 7 to 10 , the reader will consider in greater detail the various components of the platform arrangement or platform 16. In some embodiments, the platform 16 includes a platform member 36, a center body 37, a wheel mechanism cover 38, under-platform wheels 17, wheel retainers 28, wheel retainer support members 29, wheel locking members 55, and associated fastening or support hardware (not specifically mentioned).

[0119] The under-platform wheels 17 are at least indirectly connected to the underside portion 21 or undercarriage of the platform 16 and are configured to move in at least one mode, such as Figure 1B , Figure 1D , Figure 3 , Figure 4 and Figures 19 to 21 The ride mode 111 generally depicted in FIG. 1 rolls along the ground surface 100. For example, Figure 1Aand Figure 1C / Figure 1E In the storage mode 112 and the stroller mode 110 , respectively, generally depicted in FIG. 1 , some or all of the platform lower wheels 17 may be moved (eg, folded, pivoted, retracted, or raised) to a position where they do not contact the ground surface 100 .

[0120] In some embodiments, the wheel retainers 28 pivot about the pivot axis to enable the stroller board mode 110 or the ride mode 111. In some embodiments, the under-platform wheels 17 are connected to the underside portion 21 of the platform 16 so as to be configurable into an operational state in which the lowest points of the under-platform wheels 17 define a (horizontal) reference plane 115 of the apparatus 10 and the under-platform wheels 17 can roll along the ground surface 100, as the apparatus 10 is in the second ride mode 111. The under-platform wheels 17 can also be configured into a non-operational (storage) state in which the under-platform wheels 17 are located above the reference plane 115, as the apparatus 10 is in the first stroller board mode 110. When in the ride mode 111, the horizontal reference plane 115 is generally coplanar with the ground surface 100, as Figure 20 to Figure 22 In some embodiments, each under-platform wheel 17 extends along a plane that forms a first angle (e.g., 90 degrees) with the reference plane 115 when the under-platform wheel 7 is in the operating state, and extends along a plane that forms a second angle (e.g., in the range of 0-45 degrees) with the reference plane when the under-platform wheel 17 is in the storage state. In these embodiments, the first angle is greater than the second angle.

[0121] In other words, in some embodiments, the under-platform wheels 17 are each connected to the underside portion 21 or chassis of the platform 16 by pivotable wheel retainers 28 that are configured to fold or pivot to maintain the under-platform wheels 17 in a non-perpendicular orientation relative to the platform 16 or in a substantially parallel relationship with the upper surface 22 of the platform in the stroller board mode 110. The wheel locking members 55 are operable to selectively maintain the under-platform wheels 17 in a retracted wheel configuration to support the stroller board mode 110, such as at least in the stroller board mode 110. Figure 6 and Figure 8 In some embodiments, the wheel holder support member 29 extends diagonally between the wheel holder 28 and the lower portion 21 of the platform 16, as shown in FIG. Fig. 20 and Fig.21 The wheel holder support members 29 help stabilize the wheel holders 28 when in the ride mode 111 and can move with the wheels 17 below the platform when reconfigured (e.g., pivoted or retracted) into the center body 37 of the platform 16 when in the stroller mode 110.

[0122] Especially in Figure 22 to Figure 26 The connector arrangement or connector 18 shown in FIG. 1 is operable to connect the device 10 to a stroller 12 or other similar traction device. Fig.11 and Fig.12 As further shown in the plan view of the device 10 in FIG. 1 , at least in the first state of the connector 18, the connector extends outwardly from the first platform end 23 of the platform 16. In some embodiments, the connector 18 includes a connector body 46, which may also include a member receiving structure as shown by a channel, groove or opening indicated by 45 and a rod receiving port 56 for mating with the first rod end 41 of the support rod 40, as shown in FIG. Fig. 22 and Fig.23 Specifically depicted and referenced therein.

[0123] Referring now more specifically to the rod 40, in some embodiments, the rod 40 is rigid and elongated and at least indirectly connects the head member wheel holder 53 to the platform 16. The rod 40 includes a first rod end 41 that mates with the connector 18 that is connected or linked to the stroller 12 or other similar traction device. In some embodiments, the rod 40 and the connector 18 are configured to move or linearly displace together as a single unit along or parallel to the axis of symmetry 101. The rod 40 also includes a second rod end 42 that is received within or otherwise mates with the head member wheel holder 53 adjacent to the second platform end 24. In some embodiments, the rod 40 is retained to the underside portion 21 of the platform 16 by a rod receiving housing 43.

[0124] The connector 18 may also include a release button mechanism 47 for releasing the grip of the connector so as to remove the connector from the lower rod of the stroller. Pressing the release button mechanism 47 will cause the protrusion 84 to retract, thereby releasing the retention of the lower rod of the stroller in the opening 45.

[0125] At least in the stroller panel mode 110, the connector 18 extends outwardly from the first platform end 23 of the platform 16, at least as shown in FIG. Fig.11 and Fig.23 A plan view of the device 10 is shown generally in FIG. Figures 13 to 15 1 and 2 further illustrate a stroller panel model 110 with a removable seat unit 20 installed. Figures 16 to 18 , when in the stroller panel mode 110, the reader will consider the device 10 to have the removable seat unit 20 removed. As previously described, the connector arrangement or connector 18 is attached to a rod 40 that is at least indirectly and movably attached to the underside 21 of the platform 16 within the rod receiving housing 43 of the central body 37 and extends along at least a majority of the symmetry axis 101. In some embodiments, the connector 18 is configured to receive a connector-engageable element of a stroller, such as the lower rod 15 of the stroller 12. As previously described, Figure 2A , Figure 2B , Figures 11 to 14 as well as Figures 16 to 18 A portion of the stroller lower rod 15 is shown in the figure to help the reader intuitively understand how the connector 18 is attached thereto.

[0126] The rod 40 may be provided with at least one receiving hole located on the underside 66 of the rod 40, but in some embodiments, two axially spaced button receiving holes 65 are provided, such as Figure 35 to Figure 39 4. A respective spring-biased button assembly, indicated at 67, is located inside the rod 40 and is associated with each button receiving aperture 65. The button receiving aperture 65 and the spring-biased button assembly 67 together enable a user to selectively and operatively depress a button 68 of each spring-biased button assembly 67 and return the button 68 to a button positioning aperture 69 formed on the underside 70 of the rod receiving housing 43. Additionally or alternatively, the button may be pushed or guided inwardly by the rod receiving housing and / or the housing of the wheel retainer as the rod slides relative to the button.

[0127] When the device 10 is reconfigured to the stroller panel mode 110 or the seating mode 111 , the button 68 is operable to respectively position and retain the rod 40 in an axially spaced relationship relative to the rod receiving housing 43 along the axis of symmetry 101 . Fig.38 The relevant portion of the device 10 is generally shown in a riding configuration 111 in which the rod 40 is extended in a first direction away from the rod receiving housing 43. Fig.39 , wherein the relevant portion of the device 10 is shown in a stroller panel mode 110 in which the rod 40 is retracted into the rod receiving housing 43 opposite to the first direction.

[0128] In some examples, the rod 40 may extend along only a portion of the length of the platform; such a configuration may be relevant, for example, in embodiments where the stroller's connector does not connect to the end of the rod but instead connects directly to the platform.

[0129] Fig.35 The lever 40 is shown with the spring biased button assembly 67 removed so that the button receiving aperture 65 is more clearly shown. Fig.36 The lever 40 is shown equipped with a spring biased button assembly 67 such that the button 68 is spring-returned through the button receiving aperture 65. Fig.37The spring-biased button assemblies 67 are shown housed inwardly within the interior of the rod 40. Each spring-biased button assembly 67 includes a wing-shaped spring element 71, a button 68, and a fastener 72 for fastening the corresponding spring-biased button assembly 67 to the rod 40. The button receiving aperture 65 and the spring-biased button assembly 67 are axially spaced from each other so that the stroller plate mode 110 and the riding mode 111 configurations relative to the rod receiving housing 43 are achieved through the button receiving aperture 69 formed at the lower side portion 73 of the rod receiving housing 43. It is worth noting that the button 68 and the button receiving aperture 69 need not be formed at the lower side portion 66 of the rod 40 and the lower side portion 73 of the rod receiving housing 43, and may be positioned in other ways in some embodiments.

[0130] Now refer to Figures 6 to 8 The rod receiving housing 43 shown and referenced extends along at least a portion of the platform 16 along the axis of symmetry 101. In some embodiments, the housing 43 may include an internal cavity extending along or parallel to the axis of symmetry 101. The housing 43 is open at opposite ends thereof, such as openings 44 at the first platform end 23 and the second platform end 24 facing the platform 16. The rod 40 is retained to the underside portion 21 of the platform 16 by the housing 43 and is configured to slide relative to the housing 43 to move the connector 18 between at least the first and second states, such as Fig.13 and Fig.19 101 . In some embodiments, the rod 40 may be retractable. In some embodiments, the rod may be configured to lock relative to the housing 43 in an intermediate position along the axis of symmetry 101, for example, by a spring biased button assembly 67 and holes 65 and 69 as described above. In some embodiments, the rod receiving housing 43 may also include an inclined button guide structure as indicated at 74. When the rod 40 slides away from the second platform end 24, the inclined button guide structure 74 is operable to guide the button 68 closest to the first platform end 23 to an actuated state and travel along the inner surface of the rod 40 until aligned with the button receiving hole 69. Once aligned with the button receiving hole 69, the button 68 closest to the first platform end 23 is spring-returned into the button receiving hole 69 to lock the rod 40 in the ride mode 111 configuration.

[0131] As the rod 40 slides in the direction of the second platform end 24 of the platform 16, it pulls the head member wheel retainer 53 (and the head member 19 and the head member wheel 52) away from the first platform end 23 of the platform 16. When the device 10 is reconfigured to the stroller plate mode 110, the rod 40 slides in the direction of the first platform end 23 of the platform 16 and pulls the head member wheel retainer 53 (and the head member 19 and the head member wheel 52) closer to the first platform end 23 of the platform 16. Once aligned with the button receiving aperture 69, the button 68 closest to the second platform end 24 is spring-returned into the button receiving aperture 69, thereby locking the rod 40 in the stroller plate mode 110 configuration.

[0132] In both the stroller panel mode 110 and the riding mode 111 of the device 10, the lowest point of the head member wheel 52 remains in the reference plane 115. When the device 10 is in the second riding mode 111, the lower platform wheel 17 constitutes the rear wheel at the first platform end 23 and the head member wheel 52 constitutes the front wheel adjacent the second platform end 24. In the first or stroller panel mode 110 of the device 10, the head member wheel 52 constitutes the rear wheel adjacent the second platform end 24.

[0133] In some embodiments, the connector 18 may include a channel or opening 45 that may mate with a connector-engageable element of a stroller (as exemplified by the lower bar 15, a portion of which is generally shown and referenced at 15, as previously described). As shown, the opening 45 defines an axis 104 that extends orthogonally relative to the axis of symmetry 101, and in some embodiments, the opening 45 accommodates the lower bar 15 of the stroller 12 or a similar other traction device. The opening 45 extends along the axis 104 that is perpendicular to the axis of symmetry 101. In some embodiments, the opening 45 is configured to maintain a fixed orientation in all states of the connector 18.

[0134] In some embodiments, the connector 18 is located at the first rod end 41 of the rod 40. Generally, the connector 18 can be integrally attached to, integrally formed with, connected to, mounted to, or otherwise fixedly attached to the first rod end 41 of the rod 40. The connector 18, as variously shown in the drawings filed in support of these descriptions, extends transversely, optionally perpendicularly, to the rod 40 along the axis 104. Fig.13 1 shows the connector in a first state, wherein the connector 18 is positioned in a spaced relationship relative to the first platform end 23, and shows that in a second state, the rod 40 is linearly displaced in the direction of the second platform end 24 of the platform 16, so that the connector 18 is retained below the platform 16, as shown in FIG. Figure 24 to Figure 26 As shown generally.

[0135] As previously mentioned, the rod 40 has Fig. 22 and Fig.23 1 and 12. The connector 18 is attached or otherwise associated with the first rod end 41. In some embodiments, the first rod end 41 of the rod 40 mates with a rod receiving opening 56 formed in the connector body 46 of the connector 18. Similarly, in some embodiments, the second rod end 42 mates with a rod receiving opening 57 formed in a head member wheel retainer 53 associated with the second platform end 24, the head member wheel retainer 53 being operable to attach the head member 19 to the second platform end 24. The rod 40 is movable along the axis of symmetry 101 via the rod receiving housing 43 of the central body 37 to move the connector 18 between a first state and a second state, in which the connector 18 extends from the first platform end 23 of the platform 16, as may be best seen in a plan view of the device 10, and in which the connector 18 is closer to the second platform end 24 of the platform 16 than in the first state, thereby further linearly displacing the head member wheel retainer 53 in a direction away from the second platform end 24.

[0136] It should be understood here that in some examples, the connector arrangement or connector can be configured to engage or attach to a connector-engageable element of the stroller, rather than the lower rod 15. For example, the connector arrangement can be configured to engage or connect to a leg of the stroller. In some examples, the axis along which the opening of the connector extends, such as the axis 104 in the above example, can be oriented vertically, i.e., perpendicular to the upper plane of the platform (or inclined relative to the platform in some examples). In some examples, the connector can be fixed to have an axis along which the opening of the connector extends fixedly to be oriented vertically, i.e., perpendicular to the platform. In some examples, the connector can be manipulated between a connector orientation in which the opening of the connector extends horizontally along the axis, i.e., parallel to the upper plane of the platform, and another connector orientation in which the axis extends vertically with the opening of the connector, i.e., perpendicular to the platform. In some examples, the axis along which the opening of the connector extends, such as the axis 104 in the above example, can be oriented along a symmetric axis. In some examples, the connector can be fixed to have an axis along which the opening of the connector extends fixedly to be oriented along a symmetric axis. In some examples, the connector can be manipulated between a connector orientation in which the axis along which the opening of the connector extends horizontally is perpendicular to the axis of symmetry and a connector orientation in which the axis along which the opening of the connector extends extends along the axis of symmetry.

[0137] For example, Fig.54 As schematically shown in FIG. 1 (showing a portion of a connector 18 and a support rod 40 according to an example of the disclosed subject matter), the connector can be manipulated between at least two connector orientations, one connector being located at Fig.54 to the left and the other to the right. Fig.54 In the left orientation, the connector 14 can be connected to, for example, the lower bar 15 of a stroller, while in the left orientation, the connector 14 can be connected to, for example, the lower bar 15 of a stroller. Fig.54 The right-side orientation connector 14 may be connected to, for example, a leg of a stroller.

[0138] It should be understood here that in some examples, the connector arrangement may include multiple connectors. In some examples, one or more of the multiple connectors may have (or may be manipulated to have) an orientation that is different from the other connectors. For example, one or more of the multiple connectors may be attached to the lower rod of the stroller, and other connectors may be attached to any other part of the stroller (e.g., a leg). In one state of the connector (e.g., an extended state), the connector may extend outward from the first platform end, at least as shown in a plan view of the device; and in another state of the connector (e.g., a retracted state), the connector may not extend outward from the first platform end, at least as shown in a plan view of the device, that is, the connector may be completely located below the platform.

[0139] Typically, the connector can be at least indirectly connected to the platform. For example, in some examples, the connector can be connected to the support rod 40 in a manner similar to that detailed above. In some examples, the connector can be directly connected to the platform. In any case, the connector can be connected by a connection device suitable for manipulating the connector between the extended and retracted states. The connection device may include one or more of a telescopic mechanism, a folding arrangement, a sliding device, a pivot mechanism, and their equivalents. In addition, in any one or more examples of the connector arrangement described herein, the connector can be configured to be manually pulled / pushed between the extended and retracted states. In some examples, the connection arrangement (connecting the connector to the platform) can be spring-actuated to manipulate between the extended and retracted states.

[0140] For example, Fig.55A and Fig.55B Schematically shown, two connectors 18 and a portion of a support rod 40 are shown according to an example of the disclosed subject matter, the connectors 18 being connected to the support rod 40 and / or being housed within the support rod itself. Fig.55A ) and retracted state ( Fig.55B ) between the manipulation connector 18. In some examples, the connector can be formed as a resilient or spring-biased rod that, when released from a retracted state, rebounds outward from the end of the support rod and optionally separates laterally to occupy a spaced-apart position, such as Fig.55A Potential advantages of the spaced-apart positions may include providing a more stable and balanced attachment of the device to the stroller.

[0141] like Fig.56A and Fig.56B Schematically, two connectors 18 are shown according to an example of the disclosed subject matter, the connectors 18 being directly connected to the platform. Fig.56A ) and retracted state ( Fig.56B ) between the platform and the stroller. It should be understood that even in examples where the device includes only one connector, the connector can be directly connected to the platform. In some examples, the connector can be at least partially assembled in a designated recess of the body of the platform and then extended as needed (e.g., by pulling out, spring rebounding, or otherwise selectively extending) to enable connection to the stroller.

[0142] Referring now more specifically to the head member wheel retainer 53, the head member wheel retainer 53 generally couples the lower end 50 of the head member 19 to both the head member wheel 52, which is generally located below the head member 19, and the rod 40, which extends transversely to the head member 19 along the axis of symmetry 101 of the device 10 along the lower portion 21 via the rod receiving housing 43 of the platform 16. In some embodiments, the head member 19 can be pivoted relative to the head member wheel retainer 53 at laterally opposed and optionally lockable pivot joints defined by the head member to wheel retainer attachment mechanism 54 that connects the head member 19 to the head member wheel retainer 53.

[0143] In some embodiments, the attachment mechanism 54 can selectively lock the head member 19 in an operable state in the seating mode 111, or in some embodiments in an inoperable state in the stroller board mode 110. When the device 10 is transferred or reconfigured to the stroller board mode 110 or the storage mode 112, the head member 19 can pivot about the head member pivot axis 108, which extends transversely or optionally perpendicular to the rod 40 and the symmetry axis 101. In some embodiments, the head member 19 can be removed from the head member wheel holder 53 when in the stroller board mode 110 or the storage mode 112.

[0144] Comparison reference Figures 40 to 48 , the reader will consider certain embodiments of the head member 19 in more detail. In order to allow the head member 19 to pivot about the head member pivot axis 108, in some embodiments, the head member 19 is equipped with a handle release mechanism 76. The handle release mechanism 76 can be pointed upward as shown by vector 125 to release the internal locking member 77 that cooperates with the attachment mechanism 54. When the handle release mechanism 76 is pointed as shown by vector 125, a cable or similar other force transmission mechanism 83 attached to the handle release mechanism 76 can be operated to transmit a guide force 125 to the internal locking member 77, thereby releasing the attachment mechanism 54 and allowing the head member 19 to pivot about the head member pivot axis 108 as indicated by 109.

[0145] In some embodiments, a force transfer mechanism, typically a cable, generally indicated and referenced at 83, is housed within the elongated portion 51 and extends intermediate laterally opposed anchor structures 78 integrally formed with the handle release mechanism 76 and the internal anchoring portion 80 of the internal locking member 77. A passage indicated at 79 is formed within the interior of the elongated portion 51 to allow the force transfer mechanism 83 to move therethrough. In some embodiments, the internal locking member 77 may include a member return device, such as a spring element, to return the internal locking member 77 to the head member locking configuration 126 as shown by vector 128, as shown. Figures 45 to 47 As shown. Fig.47 , the head member release configuration is generally indicated and referenced at 127.

[0146] The inner locking members 77 each have an end portion as shown at 82, the depth of which is substantially equal to the depth of a space 81 formed above the inner locking member 77, in which the upper portion of the inner locking member 77 is received when the handle release force 125 is directed into the head member release configuration 127. These depths are substantially equal to the displacement distance 129 between the head member locking configuration 126 of the handle release mechanism 76 and the head member release configuration 127 of the handle release mechanism 76. The displacement distance 129 extends between the locking configuration plane 130 and the release configuration plane 131 of the handle release mechanism 76. Fig.48 The handle release force 125 is shown tilted compared to the vector 132 pointing out of the page to illustrate the directional movement of the inner locking member 77 relative to the handle release mechanism 76 in some embodiments.

[0147] In some embodiments, the internal locking member 77 cooperates with or is received in a groove structure 85 formed at laterally opposed radial hub structures 86 at the outer surface of the head member wheel retainer 53, such as Figure 49 to Figure 51 The slot structure 85 is configured to enable the head member 19 to pivot about the pivot axis 108, thereby enabling (a) as shown in FIG. Fig.49 and Fig.50 The stroller panel model 110 is generally shown, and Fig.51 The riding mode 111 is generally shown. Figure 49 to Figure 51, the reader will see that the slot structures 85 on the single radial hub structure 86 each have an axis 135 that is angled relative to each other as shown at 136, approximately 90 degrees. In some embodiments, the head member 19 rotates through an angle of approximately 270 degrees between the stroller board or seating modes 110 / 111. The slot structure 85 and the internal locking member 77 are operable together to retain the head member 19 in either the stroller board or seating modes 110 / 111.

[0148] The reader will recall that the inner locking members 77 each have an end 82. When the end 82 is withdrawn into the head member release configuration 127, the end 82 correspondingly withdraws from engagement with the slot structure 85 at the radial hub portion 86, thereby allowing the outer radial surface 87 to rotate past the end 82 and allow pivotal movement at the attachment mechanism 54. In other words, the end surface 89 retracts so as to be flush with the flanking structure 88 of the attachment mechanism 54, thereby allowing the outer radial surface 87 to freely pass radially inwardly under or through the end surface 89, thereby allowing the head member 19 to pivot 109 about the pivot axis 108. Therefore, it can be seen that in some embodiments, the head member 19 is foldable or pivotable from an upright raised position of the operative state or second seating mode 111 to a lowered position of the first stroller panel mode 110 or an inoperative state. When in the lowered position of the inoperative state, at least a portion of the elongated portion 51 extends along the platform 16. Additionally, in some embodiments, when in the lowered position, the handle 35 and at least a portion of the elongated portion 51 are located below the platform 16. The head member 19 is at least indirectly connected to the second rod end 42 via the head member wheel retainer 53. In some embodiments, the head member wheel 52 is retained by the head member wheel retainer 53, through which the head member 19 is connected to the second rod end 42 of the rod 40. In some embodiments, when the head member 19 is in the operable state, the elongated portion 51 is at least partially aligned along or parallel to the symmetry axis 101.

[0149] In some embodiments, a rod receiving housing 43 may be attached to or located on the underside 21 of the platform 16 for holding the rod 40 to the platform 16. As shown, the rod receiving housing 43 is integrally formed with the central body 37. In some embodiments, the rod receiving housing 43 has an opening 44 in the direction of the first platform end 23 and the second platform end 24, and at least a portion of the rod 40 extends through the opening 44. In some embodiments, the rod 40 is configured to slide relative to the rod receiving housing 43. In some embodiments, for example, Fig.19As shown, movement of the rod 40 relative to the rod receiving housing 43 in the direction of the second platform end 24 is configured to move the head member 19 further away from the second platform end 24 along the axis of symmetry 101 .

[0150] At least in the ride mode 111 of the device 10, the head member 19 is generally associated with the second platform end 24 of the platform 16. The head member 19 includes an upper end 49, a lower end 50, and an elongated portion 51 therebetween. The upper end 49 is associated with the handle 35, and the lower end 50 is associated with a head member wheel 52, which is also configured to roll along the ground surface 100. The head member 19 can be configured, for example, by folding or pivoting about the pivot axis 108, between an operable state and an inoperable state, in which the head member 19 is in an upright raised position and the handle 35 is accessible for grasping, as in the ride mode 111; in the inoperable state, the head member 19 is in a lowered stowed position, as in the stroller board mode 110. Optionally, in some embodiments, in the lowered position, the head member 19 can extend at least partially below or along the platform 16. Alternatively, in other embodiments, the head member 19 may be removably connected to the apparatus 10 and may be removed when the apparatus 10 is converted to the stroller panel mode 110 and / or the storage mode 112, as described in further detail below.

[0151] In such Figure 1A , Figure 1C , Figure 1E , Figure 2A , Figure 2B , Figures 10 to 16 In the generally shown lowered or stored position, the handle 35 and at least a portion of the elongated portion 51 are positioned below the lower portion 21 of the platform 16. In some embodiments, the handle 35 is angled relative to the elongated portion 51. Fig.19 35. In the example shown, the elongated portion 51 is non-linear and slightly curved, with an angle of inclination at 105, for example, between 5 and 30 degrees. In some embodiments, a corresponding angle between 150 and 175 degrees extends between the elongated portion 51 and the handle portion of the handle 35. In other embodiments, the elongated portion 51 can be straight or linear between the lower end 50 and the handle 35. In some embodiments, the handle portion can be coplanar with the upper portion of the elongated portion 51, while the lower end 50 can be angled relative to the elongated portion 51, such as Figure 1B and Figure 1D Roughly shown.

[0152] In some embodiments, the head member 19 is at least indirectly connected to the second rod end 42 via a head member wheel retainer 53. In some embodiments, the head member wheel 52 is also retained by the head member wheel retainer 53, and the head member 19 is also connected to the second rod end 42 of the rod 40 via the head member wheel retainer. The linearly displaceable movement of the rod 40 relative to the rod receiving housing 43 in the direction of the second platform end 24 is configured to move the head member 19 further away from the second platform end 24 along the symmetry axis 101, which may be required by the child user 11. In some embodiments, the head member 19 can be pivoted between an operable state and an inoperable state relative to the head member wheel retainer 53. Although not specifically shown in the drawings submitted to support these descriptions, it is still conceivable that in some embodiments, the head member 19 can be configured to be attached to or adjacent to the first platform end 23 of the platform.

[0153] In some embodiments, the inoperable state of the head member 19 is characterized by the elongated portion 51 being at least partially aligned parallel to the axis of symmetry 101. In some embodiments, the elongated portion 51 is forked or characterized by parallel spaced portions with recesses 58 or spaces therebetween, and when the head member 19 is in the inoperable state, the rod receiving housing 43 is at least partially received in the recesses 58, such as Fig.12 and Fig.23 In some embodiments, when the corresponding wheel holder 28 is folded or pivoted to the stroller board mode 110, the handle 35 of the head member 19 in the inoperable state at least partially covers the lower platform wheel 17, thereby preventing the wheel holder 28 from being deployed in the first or stroller board mode 110 of the device 10. In this regard, the reader may wish to further refer to Fig.12 In some embodiments, it will be recalled that the device 10 may include one or more attachment mechanisms 54 at the head member wheel retainer 53 that are configured to selectively lock the head member 19 in an operable state or an inoperable state.

[0154] In some embodiments, the head member 19 can be removably connected to the device 10 and can be removed when the device 10 is converted to the stroller mode 110 and / or the storage mode 112. Generally, the head member 19 can be connected to the device 10, such as at the head member wheel holder 53, such as a head member to wheel holder attachment mechanism. In some examples, the head member to wheel holder attachment mechanism can be a head member to wheel holder attachment mechanism 54 as described above. Fig.57A As shown, Fig.23As shown, the head member to wheel holder attachment mechanism 54 includes two attachment elements 54, each of which is associated with one of the elongated portions 51 of the head member 19. Each attachment element 54 can be removably attached to the head member wheel holder 53. In some examples, such as Fig.57A As shown, the head member 19 can be disassembled by displacing the attachment element 54 outwardly from the head member wheel holder 53. Optionally, a spring-loaded mechanism is provided so that the element 54 can be pushed inwardly to spring-release the head member from the head member wheel holder 53.

[0155] In some examples, the head member 19 may be attached to the head member wheel holder 53 (after removal) in an inoperable state to maneuver the device into its stroller board mode and / or storage mode. Optionally, the head member is attached below the platform.

[0156] In some examples, the head member to wheel holder attachment mechanism may include a snug-fit and / or snap-fit mechanism. For example, the head member wheel holder 53 may include a head member receiving portion, and at least a portion of the head member, such as the elongated portion, may be received in the head member receiving portion. The head member receiving portion may be connected to the head member receiving portion by a snug-fit arrangement and / or a snap-fit arrangement. For example, as Fig.57B As shown, the head member wheel holder 53 includes a head member receiving portion formed as a recess. The head member 19 includes an elongated portion, the bottom of which is received in the head member receiving portion and can be locked therein by a snug and / or snap fit arrangement. The head member receiving portion and the bottom of the elongated portion constitute the head member to wheel holder attachment mechanism.

[0157] The seat unit 20 basically includes a seat 30, a support column 31 and a seat connector 32, such as Fig. 27 16 . In some embodiments, the seat 30 is configured to mate with a post 31 that is configured to mate with a seat connector 32. In some embodiments, the seat connector 32 is configured to mate with a seat connector receiving hole 33 formed in the platform 16 at the second platform end 24. Additionally, in some embodiments, the seating unit 20 is configured to be selectively connected to the platform 16 via a quick release mechanism and is configured to extend upward from the platform 16 when connected to the platform. Thus, the seating unit 20 and its seat 30 can be selectively connected to the platform 16, extending upward from the platform, to enable the child user 11 to selectively sit on the device 10 or stand on the device 10, depending on the selection of the child user 11.

[0158] In some embodiments, the seating unit 20 can be selectively removed and attached to the platform 16 via a second quick release mechanism. In this regard, the reader is referred to Figures 28 to 34 . Reference Figures 28 to 34 , the reader will consider the perforated seat connector 32'. The perforated seat connector 32' includes laterally opposed upper holes 59 that receive quick release buttons 60 formed on a quick release body 61 that is received internally relative to the perforated seat connector 32'. In some embodiments, the quick release body 61 is spring biased and also includes at least one, but in some embodiments a pair of, laterally extending protrusions 62 that are received by and mate with lower holes 63 formed in the lower portion of the quick release body 60.

[0159] The projection 62 extends through the lower hole 63 and engages with a laterally opposed structure 64 formed on the interior of the connector anchoring portion 75 of the rod receiving housing 43. By pressing the button 60 inwardly, the projections 62 of the relative bodies 61 are displaced toward each other, thereby disengaging the structure 64 and enabling the user to remove the seat unit 20 from the connector anchoring portion 75 of the rod receiving housing 43. When reconnecting the seat unit 20 to the connector anchoring portion 75 of the rod receiving housing 43, the button 60 can be pushed inwardly and the perforated seat post 32' can be inserted into the seat connector receiving hole 33 formed in the connector anchoring portion 75 of the rod receiving housing 43. The spring biasing body 61 then returns the projection 62 to engagement with the structure 64 to maintain the seat unit 20 in assembled relationship with the connector anchoring portion 75 of the rod receiving housing 43.

[0160] As previously described, the device 10 according to the presently disclosed subject matter can be configured between a plurality of operating modes, including a first stroller board mode, shown at 110; a second ride (toy) mode, shown at 111; and optionally a third storage mode, shown at 112. The presently disclosed subject matter contemplates certain generalized mode reconfiguration methods supported by these descriptions. For example, assuming that a child user 11 first uses the device 10 in the ride mode 111 and a parent or caregiver wishes to connect the device 10 to a stroller 12 or other similar traction device, the user may first move at least some of the under-platform wheels 17 to a position where the under-platform wheels 17 do not contact or move away from a reference plane 115, which coincides with the ground or support surface 100 in the ride mode 113. Reconfiguring the under-platform wheels 17 to the stowed configuration is performed generally within 100 seconds. Fig.52 1 and 120 in the description and reference.

[0161] After reconfiguring the wheels 17 under the platform to the stowed configuration, the user can then manipulate the head member 19 from an operable riding state or configuration in which the head member 19 is vertically raised from the platform 16 to an inoperable or stroller state or configuration in which the head member 19 is moved (e.g., folded, pivoted, or detached and then reattached to the lower surface of the platform) to a lowered position. This reconfiguration is generally performed in Fig.52 Once the wheels 17 and head member 19 under the platform are reconfigured to the stroller board mode 110, the Fig.52 As shown, the user can connect the device 10 to the stroller 12 or other similar traction device, as at block 122, or remove the seat unit 20 and fold the device 10 into the storage mode 112, as at block 123. In some examples, the order of these events may be reversed. In some examples, these events can be performed in any order.
