Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The invention relates to a joinery product. Background Art
[0002] As demonstrated in WO 2015 / 038059, a furniture item provided with a mechanical locking device is known in the art. The furniture item comprises a first panel connected to a second panel by a mechanical locking device comprising a rod-like element, a slot, a locking groove and a locking device.
[0003] There is a need for a joinery product consisting of multiple joinery elements having a stronger locking. Summary of the invention
[0004] It is an object of the present invention to mitigate or alleviate at least some of the disadvantages of the prior art.
[0005] An object of the present invention is to provide a joinery product with a stronger and universal locking.
[0006] According to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a joinery product, comprising a first joinery element having a first edge surface, a second edge surface and a first joinery element surface, wherein the second edge surface is adjacent to the first edge surface, wherein the first attachment surface is at least a portion of the first edge surface or the second edge surface. The joinery product also comprises a second joinery element having a second joinery element surface, a third joinery element surface, a third edge surface and a fourth edge surface, wherein the second attachment surface is at least a portion of the second joinery element surface, the third edge surface or the fourth edge surface, wherein the first attachment surface faces the second attachment surface and is configured to be locked together with the second attachment surface. The joinery product also comprises a mechanical locking device, which comprises at least two dowels protruding from the first attachment surface at a first angle and at least two insertion recesses extending into the second attachment surface, wherein the at least two insertion recesses are configured to receive the at least two dowels. The mechanical locking device also includes a compressible locking element, which is partially positioned in a first joinery element recess located in the first attachment surface, wherein one side of the joinery element recess extends at a third angle (a3) relative to the first attachment surface, wherein the compressible locking element partially protrudes from the first attachment surface in an uncompressed state. The mechanical locking device also includes a locking recess at the second attachment surface, which is configured to receive the compressible locking element. The locking surface of the locking recess is configured to cooperate with the compressible locking element in a locked position for locking the first joinery element relative to the second joinery element in a direction located in the plane of the first attachment surface. The inclination of the at least two dowels offsets the displacement of the first joinery element relative to the second joinery element along the normal direction of the first attachment surface. The compressible locking element is positioned between the at least two dowels in a direction perpendicular to the normal direction, wherein the first angle (a1) is in the range of 20° to 75°, and wherein the third angle (a3) is in the range of 70° to 110°. Positioning the compressible locking element between the at least two dowels in a direction perpendicular to the normal direction allows for a stronger locking. This allows the use of a larger first angle a1 and / or second angle, i.e. a less inclined dowel. For example, when the compressible locking element is between the at least two dowels, one of the at least two dowels can be placed closer to the edge of the first attachment surface. Each inclined dowel counteracts the displacement of the first joinery element relative to the second joinery element along the normal direction of the first attachment surface, i.e., each inclined dowel presses the joinery elements together. Therefore, positioning the dowels close to the edge of the first attachment surface prevents the occurrence of gaps. Such gaps may occur due to external forces and / or forces applied by the compressible element.
[0007] One or more of the at least two dowels may be placed less than 125 mm, such as less than 75 mm, such as less than 50 mm from any edge of the first attachment surface. The edge may be any edge of the first edge surface, but is typically the side edge closest to the dowel, the dowel being inclined away from the side edge. The position of the dowel may be measured as the distance between the centerline of the dowel inclined away from the side edge and the side edge.
[0008] As used herein, a first joinery element recess refers to a recess in a first joinery element.
[0009] Joinery products can be furniture, door frames or window frames.

[0085] Specific embodiments of the present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. However, the present invention can be implemented in many different forms and should not be construed as limited to the embodiments of the joinery products set forth herein; rather, these embodiments are provided to make this disclosure thorough and complete and to fully convey the scope of the invention to those skilled in the art. The terms used in the detailed description of the embodiments shown in the accompanying drawings are not intended to limit the present invention. In the drawings and this specification, similar reference numerals refer to similar elements.
[0086] Figure 1-33 Embodiments of joinery products or parts thereof according to the present disclosure are shown.
[0087] Figures 1 to 3 Schematic perspective views of joinery products according to embodiments of the present disclosure are shown. In particular, different configurations of two joinery elements in a locked position are shown. Thus, in Figures 1 to 3 Not all details and features are shown. Embodiments of the configuration are described in, for example, Fig.21a , 21b , 22, 22b, 23a, 23b.
[0088] The joinery product comprises a first joinery element 10 having a first edge surface 11, a second edge surface 12 and a first joinery element surface 13. The second edge surface 12 is adjacent to the first edge surface 11. The first attachment surface 15 is at least a portion of the first edge surface 11 (see Figure 1 and 3 ) or at least a portion of the second edge surface 12 (see e.g. Figure 2 , 19 and 20).
[0089] As will be appreciated by the skilled person, any surface, such as any planar surface, may constitute an attachment surface, although for transport purposes, such as to achieve a flat package, the first attachment surface may be an edge surface (or may be part of an edge surface).
[0090] The joinery product further comprises a second joinery element 20 having a second joinery element surface 22, a third joinery element surface 23, a third edge surface 21 and a fourth edge surface 24. The second attachment surface 25 is at least a portion of the second joinery element surface 22 (e.g. Figure 2 , 3 and 19), at least a portion of the third edge surface 21 ( Figure 1 ) or at least a portion of the fourth edge surface 24 (see, for example, Figure 3 and 20 ). The first attachment surface 15 faces the second attachment surface 25 and is configured to be locked together with the second attachment surface 25.
[0091] The cross-section of the joinery element may be square, for example when the joinery element is a column. Thus, the second joinery element surface 22 and the fourth edge surface 24 may have similar widths (e.g. Figure 3 ).
[0092] The joinery product further comprises a mechanical locking device comprising at least two dowels 31 protruding from the first attachment surface 15 and a compressible locking element 40 partially protruding from the first attachment surface 15 in an uncompressed state, for example in a locked position.
[0093] The first joinery element 10 and / or the second joinery element 20 may be a wood-based joinery element. The joinery element according to the present disclosure may have a rectangular parallelepiped shape, for example a rectangular parallelepiped shape with right angles. The joinery element may have 1 to 4 mitered edges, or a tongue-and-groove joint (e.g. Figure 21a-2 1c) or half lap joints. The cross section of the joinery element may be of any shape, for example rectangular or square, optionally with one or two decorative milled surfaces. The joinery element may be a panel, board or stud, optionally with 1 to 4, for example 1 or 2, mitered edges, or 1 to 4 tongue and groove joints or half lap joints, optionally with one or two decorative milled surfaces.
[0094] The first joinery element 10 and / or the second joinery element 20 may be part of a furniture product or a frame. The furniture product may be a bookshelf, a cupboard, a wardrobe, a box, a drawer, a kitchen cabinet, a worktop or a tabletop. The frame may be a door frame or a window frame (see for example Fig.33 , 21a , 21b, 22, 22b, 23a and 23b). One or more joinery elements in the product may include more than one mechanical locking device, and the product may include a variety of different example joinery elements assembled with mechanical locking devices. A joinery element may further act as a first joinery element 10 when it is assembled to one joinery element, and as a second joinery element in a locked position with another joinery element. This Fig.32 and 33 For example, in Fig.32 In the drawings, one panel acts as a first joinery element in 10h and as a second joinery element in 20a, 20d and 20f.
[0095] The attachment surface may be planar.
[0096] The wood-based joinery elements may be particle board joinery elements, HDF joinery elements, MDF joinery elements, or plywood joinery elements. Further details of the mechanical locking device will be described below and are applicable to Figures 1 to 3 Any configuration described in .
[0097] Figures 4 to 10 The process of connecting two joinery elements in a group according to one embodiment of the present disclosure is shown. Figure 4 The features provided with reference numerals in the Figures 5 to 10 The joinery product comprises a first joinery element 10 having a first edge surface 11, a second edge surface 12 and a first joinery element surface 13. The second edge surface 12 is adjacent to the first edge surface 11. The first attachment surface 15 may be the first edge surface 11.
[0098] The joinery product further comprises a second joinery element 20 having a second joinery element surface 22, a third joinery element surface 23, a third edge surface 21 and a fourth edge surface 24. The second attachment surface 25 may be the second joinery element surface 22. The first attachment surface 15 faces the second attachment surface 25 and is configured to be locked with the second attachment surface 25.
[0099] The joinery product further comprises a mechanical locking device comprising at least two dowels 31 protruding at a first angle a1 from the first attachment surface 15. The first angle a1 is in the range of 20° to 75°, for example in the range of 30° to 60°, for example in the range of 35° to 55°, for example in the range of 40° to 50°, for example about 45°, such as Figures 4 to 9 shown.
[0100] The mechanical locking device also includes at least two insertion recesses 32 extending into the second attachment surface 25. The at least two insertion recesses 32 are configured to receive the at least two dowels 31. The at least two insertion recesses 32 extending into the second attachment surface 25 may have a countersunk hole 37. The insertion recess 32 includes an upper side 35 and an opposite lower side 36. The insertion recess 32 includes a countersunk hole 37 on the lower side 36, for example, along 45° to 270° of the circumference of the at least two insertion recesses 32, for example, 90° to 180°. This is particularly advantageous in the case where the joinery element 20 having the insertion recess 32 has an outer layer that is harder than the panel core. Making the countersunk hole 37 correspond to the thickness of the harder outer layer prevents the dowel from affecting the surface of the second joinery element 20.
[0101] The second joinery element 20 may include an insertion recess bevel 38 located at an edge of the opening of the insertion recess 32, for example, at the lower side 36 of the insertion recess 32. The insertion recess bevel 38 is configured to blunt the edge of the opening. When the at least two dowels are displaced into the insertion recess 32, the blunt edge may prevent the edge from cutting into the at least two dowels 31.
[0102] The mechanical locking device also includes a compressible locking element 40, which is partially located in a first joinery element recess 41 in the first attachment surface 15. The compressible locking element 40 partially protrudes from the first attachment surface (15) in an uncompressed state. One side of the joinery element recess 41 extends at a third angle a3 relative to the first attachment surface 15. The third angle a3 is in the range of 70° to 110°, for example in the range of 75° to 105°, for example in the range of 80° to 100°, for example in the range of 85° to 95°, for example about 90°. In the uncompressed state, the compressible locking element 40 partially protrudes from the first attachment surface 15.
[0103] The difference between the angles a1 and a3 may be 20° to 70°, such as 30° to 60°, such as 40° to 50°, such as about 45°.
[0104] The compressible locking element 40 may include a spring 43 and a locking pin 42. One end of the compressible locking element 40 may include the locking pin 42. The locking pin 42 may include an end portion 47 having a tapered shape, such as a frusto-conical shape.
[0105] exist Fig. 9, the advantage of the tapered shape at the end portion 47 of the locking pin 42 is evident, i.e., as can be seen, the locking pin 42 and the locking recess 50 are not completely aligned. Even so, the two joinery elements 10, 20 are locked to each other due to the tapered shape of the pin 42. To further facilitate the connection, the second locking recess 50 has an inclined opening edge 52 along its circumference.
[0106] In the embodiment shown, the inclination angle of the cone or truncated cone is about 10°. The inclination angle of the truncated cone may be about 3° to 20°, for example 5° to 15°, for example 8° to 12°. The central axis of the locking pin 42 is perpendicular to the contact surface between the joinery elements 10, 20.
[0107] The mechanical locking device further comprises a locking recess 50 at the second attachment surface 25, which is configured to receive the compressible locking element 40. The locking surface 51 of the locking recess 50 in the locked position is configured to cooperate with the compressible locking element 40 for locking the first joinery element 10 relative to the second joinery element 20 in a direction within the plane of the first attachment surface 15. The tilting of the at least two dowels 31 counteracts the displacement of the first joinery element 10 relative to the second joinery element 20 along the normal direction of the first attachment surface 15.
[0108] The compressible locking element 40 is positioned between the at least two dowels in a direction perpendicular to the normal direction, for example in a direction along the axis y. The compressible locking element 40 may be positioned less than 30 mm, for example less than 20 mm, for example less than 10 mm, for example less than 5 mm from a straight line between the at least two dowels 31. Figure 1 and Figure 2 As can be seen in FIG. 1 , the compressible locking element 40 can be aligned with the at least two dowels 31 along the axis y, while Figure 3 In the embodiment, the compressible locking element is only close to the straight line between the at least two dowels 31. Therefore, the compressible locking element may or may not have the same position along the axis x perpendicular to the axis y.
[0109] An advantage of positioning the compressible locking element between the at least two dowels is that one of the at least two dowels can be placed closer to the edge of the first attachment surface. Each inclined dowel counteracts a displacement of the first joinery element relative to the second joinery element along the normal direction of the first attachment surface, i.e. each inclined dowel presses the two joinery elements together. Thus, positioning the dowels close to the edge of the first attachment surface prevents the occurrence of gaps. Such gaps may occur due to external forces and / or forces applied by the compressible element.
[0110] The at least two insertion recesses 32 may extend from the second attachment surface 25 into the second attachment surface 25 at a second angle a2, and the difference between the first angle a1 and the second angle a2 may be in the range of 0° to 6°, for example, in the range of 1° to 5°, for example, in the range of 2° to 4°, for example, about 3°. The second angle a2 may be smaller than the first angle a1.
[0111] The order ( Figure 4-9 ) shows how the two dowels 31 are Figures 4 to 5 Approach and enter the two insertion recesses 32. As the dowel further enters the insertion recess (see Figures 6 to 8 ), the compressible locking element 40 can be compressed and the end portion 47 of the locking pin 42 can be pushed into the first joinery element recess. The compression can be achieved by the spring 43. Once the compressible locking element 40, for example the end portion 47 of the locking pin 42 of the compressible locking element 40 encounters the locking recess 50, the compressible locking element 40 can expand and enter the locking recess 50, see Fig. 9 In the locked position, the compressible locking element 40 may be configured to be partially displaced into the locking recess 50 .
[0112] therefore, Fig. 9 A locked position of a kit is shown according to one embodiment.
[0113] The compressible locking element 40 in the flexed / compressed state is configured to be located substantially in the first joinery element recess 41 (see, for example, Figure 8 ).
[0114] The first joinery element recess 41 and / or the locking recess 50 may be a cylindrical hole, such as a drilled hole.
[0115] At least one of the at least two insertion recesses 32, the first joinery element recess 41 and the locking recess 50 may be a hole, such as a hole / blind hole with a bottom end, such as a drilled hole with a bottom end. The insertion recess 32 may be a hole, such as a hole with a bottom end, such as a drilled hole with a bottom end. The first joinery element recess 41 may be a hole, such as a hole with a bottom end, such as a drilled hole with a bottom end. The locking recess 50 may be a hole, such as a hole with a bottom end, such as a drilled hole with a bottom end.
[0116] Any dowels here may be located in holes of the first attachment surface 15. The holes may extend from the first attachment surface 15 into the first attachment surface 15 at a first angle al.
[0117] refer to Figure 10-16, a kit according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include an unlocking surface 16 provided with an unlocking hole 49 that reaches the compressible locking element 40. The compressible locking element 40 may be configured to cooperate with the unlocking device 48 through the unlocking hole 49 so that the end portion 47 is displaced toward the bottom 44 of the first joinery element recess 41. The displacement of the end portion 47 toward the bottom may achieve unlocking.
[0118] The inner inclined surface 46 , the end portion 47 or the bottom 44 of the spring may be configured to cooperate with the unlocking device 48 such that the end portion 47 is displaced towards the bottom 44 of the first joinery element recess 41 .
[0119] The unlocking hole 49 may be disposed in any surface within 10 cm, such as within 8 cm, such as within 6 cm, such as within 5 cm, such as within 4 cm, such as within 3 cm, such as within 2 cm, such as within 1 cm from the compressible locking element 40. Fig.12 , 11 As shown in FIGS. 10 and 11 respectively, the unlocking hole 49 may be provided in a surface selected from the following: the first joinery element surface 13, the surface 13' opposite to the first joinery element surface, the third joinery element surface 23. The unlocking hole 49 may be provided so that it does not intersect with any dowels such as the at least two dowels 31.
[0120] The locking recess can be a bottomed / blind recess or an open / through recess.
[0121] Reference Fig.10 , the unlocking hole may be arranged in the third joinery element surface 23. In this case, the locking recess 50 may be coaxial with the unlocking hole 49 and / or coincide with the unlocking hole 49. In this case, the locking recess 50 may be a part of the unlocking hole 49. Therefore, the locking recess 50 may be the unlocking hole 49.
[0122] Fig.11 and 12 Two similar embodiments are shown, differing in the position of the unlocking hole. The unlocking hole 49 can be arranged on the first joinery element surface 13 or on the surface 13' opposite to the first joinery element surface, depending on which positioning is more practical and / or less visible. Fig.12 The features of the embodiments of Fig.11 Exist and apply in the implementation scheme of.
[0123] Figure 12-14The sequence of how to achieve the unlocking of the first joinery element 10 from the second joinery element 20 is shown. The unlocking hole can be arranged near the bottom 44 of the spring 43 so that the compressible locking element 40 can fall into the unlocking hole 49 in the lateral direction of the unlocking hole 49. According to this embodiment, in order to lock the first joinery element 10 to the second joinery element 20, the unlocking device 48 can be inserted into the unlocking hole so that the end portion 47 of the compressible locking element 40 partially protrudes from the first attachment surface 15. To unlock the first joinery element 10 from the second joinery element 20, the unlocking device 48 can be removed from the unlocking hole so that the end portion 47 of the compressible locking element 40 falls into the first joinery element recess 41, thereby releasing the horizontal locking. The release of the horizontal locking can remove the at least two dowels from the at least two insertion recesses 32. The bottom 44 of the spring can be configured to cooperate with the unlocking device 48 so that the end portion 47 is displaced toward the bottom 44 of the first joinery element recess 41.
[0124] Reference Fig.15 and 16 , the inner inclined surface 46 can be configured to cooperate with the unlocking device 48 so that the end portion 47 is displaced toward the bottom 44 of the first joinery element recess 41. The unlocking hole can be arranged in the first joinery element surface 13 or in the surface 13' opposite to the first joinery element surface, depending on which positioning is more practical and / or less visible. The unlocking hole can be a hole / blind hole with a bottom end or an open hole / through hole (not shown) passing through the first joinery element. The unlocking hole can be open-ended / through-through so that the unlocking tool can be kept inserted through the hole during unlocking. The compressible locking element 40 such as the inner inclined surface 46 can be configured to cooperate with the unlocking device so that the end portion 47 is displaced toward the bottom 44 of the first joinery element recess 41. By inserting the unlocking device 48 into the unlocking hole 49, the inner inclined surface can be reached, and the force generated thereby causes the end portion 47 to displace toward the bottom 44 of the first joinery element recess 41. Therefore, unlocking can be achieved.
[0125] Reference Figures 17 to 19 , the kit may further comprise one or more additional dowels 33, which protrude from the first attachment surface at a first angle a1. The additional dowels increase the locking strength in a direction in the plane of the first attachment surface. The one or more additional dowels may be evenly distributed in the attachment surface, for example evenly distributed along the direction of the straight line between the at least two dowels 31. The number of additional dowels may also depend on the length of the first attachment surface 15. The kit may further comprise 1 to 10, for example 1 to 5, for example 2 to 4 additional dowels 33.
[0126] The kit may further include one or more additional insertion recesses 34 extending from the second attachment surface 25 into the second attachment surface 25 at a second angle a2 and configured to receive the one or more additional dowels 33. The number of additional insertion recesses 34 generally corresponds to the number of additional dowels 33.
[0127] refer to Fig. 20 The joinery product may further include one or more additional compressible locking elements 40', which are partially located in the additional first joinery element recess 41'. The kit may include one or more additional locking recesses 50' at the second attachment surface 25, which are configured to receive the additional compressible locking elements 40'.
[0128] Reference Figure 21a-21b , the joinery product may be a frame. The first joinery element 10 and the second joinery element 20 may be columns. The first joinery element 10 and the second joinery element 20 may have a tongue and groove joint as shown. The at least two dowels may extend from the first joinery element 10 or the second joinery element 20. Fig.33 An exemplary embodiment of a frame is shown. A compressible locking element 40 is partially positioned in a first joinery element recess 41 in a first attachment surface 15, wherein one side of the joinery element recess 41 extends at a third angle a3 relative to the first attachment surface 15, wherein the compressible locking element 40 in an uncompressed state partially protrudes from the first attachment surface 15, and a locking recess 50 at a second attachment surface 25 is configured to receive the compressible locking element 40. The unlocking surface 16 is provided with an unlocking hole 49 that reaches the compressible locking element 40. The unlocking hole 49 can directly enter the unlocking surface 16 until it reaches the compressible locking element 40.
[0129] refer to Fig. 22 , the first joinery element 10 and the second joinery element 20 may have a non-square cross section. The compressible locking element 40 may be located between the at least two dowels 31 in a direction along the axis y. The axis y may be parallel to the longest side of the cross section of the joinery element 10. The inclination direction of the at least two dowels may be along an axis x perpendicular to the axis y.
[0130] refer to Figure 22b , which highlights that the at least two dowels may protrude from the second joinery element 20 instead of from the first joinery element 10, while the compressible locking element remains in the first joinery element 10. However, according to the first aspect, Fig. 22 and 22bThe illustrated embodiment alternatively has at least two dowels 31 protruding from the first attachment surface 15 at a first angle a1 and at least two insertion recesses 32 extending into the second attachment surface 25. According to the first aspect of the present disclosure, the at least two insertion recesses 32 are configured to receive the at least two dowels 31.
[0131] Reference Figure 23a-23b , the joinery product may be a frame. The first joinery element 10 and the second joinery element 20 may be columns. The first joinery element 10 and the second joinery element 20 may have a non-square cross-section. The compressible locking element 40 may be located between the at least two dowels 31 in the direction along the axis y. The direction of the straight line between the at least two dowels may deviate from the direction of the axis y. The inclination direction of the at least two dowels may be along the axis y or along the straight line between the at least two dowels.
[0132] refer to Fig.24 , shows the same embodiment as in FIGS. 23 and 23 b, but is a view of a joinery element 20 and an enlarged view thereof, wherein it is emphasized that the at least two dowels and the compressible locking element do not need to be in a straight line. The compressible locking element 40 may be located between the at least two dowels 31 in a direction along the axis y. The direction of the straight line between the at least two dowels may deviate from the direction of the axis y. The inclined direction of the at least two dowels may be along the axis y.
[0133] Reference Fig. 27 and 28 , these figures show a comparison of a joinery product in which the compressible locking element 40 is positioned closer to the edge than one of the at least two inclined dowels 31 inclined away from the side edge 17 (System 1) and a joinery product in which the compressible locking element 40 is positioned between the inclined dowels 31. As determined in Example 1 and Comparative Example 1, System 2 has a stronger lock than System 1. In particular, under the same applied force, the extension of System 2 is less than the extension of System 1.
[0134] The at least two dowels are inclined away from the edge of the first attachment surface 11, such as the side edge 17, which means that they are inclined away from the edge of the adjacent second edge surface 12 of the first attachment surface. One of the at least two dowels located closest to the side edge 17 may be located at a distance L less than 125 mm, such as less than 75 mm, such as less than 65 mm, such as less than 50 mm from any edge of the first attachment surface 11, such as the side edge 17. The greater the thickness of the second joinery element 20, the greater the distance L may be. The greater the thickness of the second joinery element 20, the greater the distance L may be. The ratio between the distance L between the center line and the side edge of the dowel inclined away from the side edge and the thickness T of the second joinery element 20 may be less than 5, such as less than 4, such as less than 3, such as less than 2, such as less than 1. The ratio between the distance L between the center line and the side edge of the dowel inclined away from the side edge and the thickness T of the second joinery element 20 may be 1 to 5, such as 1 to 4, such as 1 to 3.
[0135] refer to Figures 25a-25c , shows a compressible locking element 40, which includes a spring 43 and a locking pin 42. The compressible locking element 40 can be used to lock two elements to each other. One end of the compressible locking element 40 may include a locking pin 42.
[0136] The spring 43 may include a U-shaped portion 66 and an adjacent U-shaped portion 66, wherein one leg of the U-shaped portion is connected to one leg of the adjacent U-shaped portion.
[0137] The spring 43 may include two or more U-shaped portions 66 .
[0138] An advantage of this embodiment of the spring 43 may be that the outer diameter of the spring does not increase, or the increase in the outer diameter is not significant, for example less than 0.3 mm, when the spring 43 is compressed. This may have the effect that, if the spring 43 is inserted, for example, into a hole or recess 41, the spring 43 will not be caught in the hole / recess when the spring is compressed.
[0139] The compressible locking element 40 may include a polymer material, such as a thermoplastic material, optionally with reinforcement, such as fiberglass.
[0140] The spring 43 and the locking pin 42 may be injection molded as a single piece.
[0141] Furthermore, the U-shaped portion 6 may be a circular arc segment extending over 180°.
[0142] One end of the spring 43 terminates in a U-shaped portion such that the end 69 points away from the spring 43 .
[0143] The shape of the spring is such that the surface surrounding the outside of the U-shaped portion 66 is cylindrical. The diameter of the cylindrical surface in the non-compressed state is greater than its diameter when the spring 43 is at maximum compression.
[0144] The spring 43 may be a statically loaded compressible spring.
[0145] Furthermore, one end of the compressible locking element 40 comprises a locking pin 42. The locking pin 42 may comprise an end portion 47 having a tapered shape, for example a frustoconical shape.
[0146] The locking pin 42 may include a radial recess 45 which may optionally extend through the locking pin 42. The opening of the radial recess 45 is larger on one side of the locking pin 42 so that there is an inner inclined surface 46 towards the other opening.
[0147] In order to facilitate the placement of the spring-loaded pin, i.e. to be able to more easily check whether the pin is correctly positioned, the end portion 47 of the locking pin 42 has a notched section 15. Likewise, the central portion of the connecting element 5, which is furthest from the locking pin 42, has two opposite radial projections 14 on its outermost surface. When the spring-loaded locking pin is inserted into the hole / recess of the joinery element, the locking pin with these projections 14 exhibits a resistance to rotation.
[0148] The side surface of the locking pin has a radially extending recess 45, the recess 11 has an inner inclined surface 46 axially facing the locking pin and starts to be inclined at an axial point 72 on the side of the recess opening closest to the end of the locking pin connected to the spring. The inclined surface angle a4 is about 30° when viewed from the side of the spring-loaded locking pin.
[0149] The side surface of the locking pin has a radially extending recess 45 having an inner inclined surface 46 axially facing the locking pin 42 and beginning to slope at an axial point 72 on the side of the recess opening closest to the end of the locking pin connected to the spring.
[0150] The recess 45 in the locking pin is a through hole so that there is a recess opening and a recess exit.
[0151] The spring 43 may be configured such that two adjacent U-shaped portions 66 are closer to or in contact with each other in the compressed state than in the non-compressed state.
[0152] The U-shaped portion 66 may be a circular arc segment extending over 180°.
[0153] The thickness (t) of the U-shaped portion may be less at the legs of the U-shaped portion than the thickness (T) of the U-shaped portion 66 closer to the bottom of the U-shaped portion 66 .
[0154] The shape of the spring may be such that the surface around the outside of the U-shaped portion 66 is cylindrical.
[0155] The diameter of the cylindrical surface in the uncompressed state may be greater than its diameter in the maximum compressed state of the compressible locking element 40 .
[0156] The end portion 47 may include a notched section 70 .
[0157] The spring 43 may be a sequence of first and second elements 77, 78, each element comprising a disk-shaped portion 75 and two bridging struts 76, 79 arranged oppositely relative to the center of the disk-shaped portion 75. The two bridging struts 76, 79 arranged oppositely may be arranged so that they are equidistant from the center and are located on the same side of the disk-shaped portion 75. The elements 77, 78 with said struts 76, 79 may be arranged so that their disk-shaped portions 75 are parallel to each other. A first element 77 with a strut 76 pointing toward the second element 78 may be connected to the second element 78 via said strut 76, the strut 79 of the second element 78 pointing away from the first element 77. When viewed axially, the line between the struts 76 of the first element 77 may be perpendicular to the line between the struts 79 of the second element 78.
[0158] The disk portion 75 may be circular.
[0159] The disk-shaped portion 75 may have a centrally located circular opening 80 .
[0160] The disk-shaped portion 75 may be made of an elastic material.
[0161] The spring may include at least four elements selected from the first and second elements 77 , 78 .
[0162] An axial distance 81 between two adjacent disk-shaped portions 75 may be greater than an axial thickness 82 of a single disk-shaped portion 75 .
[0163] refer to Figure 22b, which highlights that the at least two dowels may protrude from the second joinery element 20 instead of from the first joinery element 10, while the compressible locking element remains in the first joinery element 10. Therefore, according to a third aspect of the present disclosure, a joinery product is disclosed, comprising a first joinery element 10 having a first edge surface 11, a second edge surface 12 and a first joinery element surface (13), wherein the second edge surface (12) is adjacent to the first edge surface (11), wherein a first attachment surface (15) is at least a part of the first edge surface (11) or the second edge surface (12). The joinery product comprises a second joinery element (20) having a second joinery element surface (22), a third joinery element surface (23), a third edge surface (21) and a fourth edge surface (24), wherein the second attachment surface (25) is at least a portion of the second joinery element surface (22), the third edge surface (21) or the fourth edge surface (24), wherein the first attachment surface (15) faces the second attachment surface (25) and is configured to lock with the second attachment surface (25). The joinery product also comprises a mechanical locking device, the mechanical locking device comprising: at least two dowels (31) protruding from the second attachment surface (25) at a first angle (a1); at least two insertion recesses (32) extending into the first attachment surface (15), the at least two insertion recesses (32) being configured to receive the at least two dowels (31); and a compressible locking element (40) being partially positioned in the first joinery element recess (41) in the first attachment surface (15). One side of the joinery element recess (41) extends at a third angle (a3) relative to the first attachment surface (15), and the compressible locking element (40) partially protrudes from the first attachment surface (15) in an uncompressed state. The mechanical locking device also includes a locking recess (50) at the second attachment surface (25), which is configured to receive the compressible locking element (40). The locking surface (51) of the locking recess (50) is configured to cooperate with the compressible locking element (40) in the locking position for locking the first joinery element (10) relative to the second joinery element (20) in a direction within the plane of the first attachment surface (15). The inclination of the at least two dowels (31) offsets the displacement of the first joinery element (10) relative to the second joinery element (20) along the normal direction of the first attachment surface (15). The compressible locking element (40) is located between the at least two dowels in the locking position in a direction perpendicular to the normal direction. The first angle (a1) is in the range of 20° to 75° and the third angle (a3) is in the range of 70° to 110°. The difference between the first and third aspects is that the dowel protrudes from the second joinery element. Therefore, all features of the first aspect are applicable to the third aspect.
[0164] The at least two insertion recesses (32) may extend from the first attachment surface (15) into the first attachment surface (15) at a second angle (a2), and a difference between the first angle (a1) and the second angle (a2) may be in the range of 0° to 6°.
[0165] In the locked position, the compressible locking element (40) may be positioned less than 30 mm, such as less than 20 mm, such as less than 10 mm, such as less than 5 mm from a straight line between the at least two dowels (31).
[0166] The compressible locking element (40) may be configured to be positioned substantially within the first joinery element recess (41) in a bent / compressed state.
[0167] The compressible locking element (40) may be configured to partially displace into the locking recess (50) in the locked position.
[0168] At least one of the at least two insertion recesses (32), the first joinery element recess (41) and the locking recess (50) may be a hole, such as a hole with a bottom end, such as a drilled hole with a bottom end.
[0169] The joinery product may also include: one or more additional dowels (33) protruding from the second attachment surface (25) at a first angle (a1); and one or more additional insertion recesses (34) extending from the first attachment surface (15) into the first attachment surface (15) at a second angle (a2) and configured to receive the one or more additional dowels (33).
[0170] The joinery product may further include: one or more additional compressible locking elements (40') partially located in the additional first joinery element recess (41'); and one or more additional locking recesses (50') at the second attachment surface (25) configured to receive the additional compressible locking elements (40').

The angles a1 are 42°, a2 are 45°, and a3 are 90°. The compressible locking element is made of Hostaform 13031 (polyoxymethylene with graphene nanoribbons).
[0177] In system 1, the compressible locking element is placed closer to the side edge 17 than the dowel, i.e. the edge between the first edge surface 11 and the second edge surface 12, 30 mm from the side edge. The distance L between the center line of the dowel inclined away from the side edge and the side edge 17 is 70 mm.
[0178] The assembled particle board panels are tightened and a force F1 is applied to one of the panels, pulling the panels away from each other. The force is increased and the extension of the system in the direction of the force is measured. This experiment is performed five times with similar samples.

[0183] Perhaps the dowel on the back should be mentioned as it is closer to the edge in System 2 vs System 1 which also makes a big difference.
[0184] Results: Fig.29 In Figure 1, the extension lengths of 10 samples (5 each for System 1 and System 2) are plotted against the applied force F1. The results clearly show that the extension length of System 2 is smaller than that of System 1, which means that the locking is stronger when the compressible locking element is placed between at least two dowels. Fig.30 and 31 In the figure, photos of system 1 and system 2 were taken separately, and the applied force was 200 N. The comparison shows that the gap in system 2 is smaller than the gap in system 1.
