DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0009] <Description of Embodiments of the Invention> First, embodiments of the present invention will be described by way of examples. The connector of the present invention, (1) It comprises: a plurality of terminals housed in a connector housing; a plurality of electric wires respectively connected to the plurality of terminals and led out to the outside of the connector housing in parallel with gaps therebetween; and a rear retaining body made of synthetic resin, having a plurality of electric wire insertion barrels, wherein the plurality of electric wires led out to the outside of the connector housing are respectively inserted through and held in the plurality of electric wire insertion barrels in a crimped state, the rear retaining body being assembled on the connector housing side, the rear retaining body having a pair of split retaining bodies, the pair of split retaining bodies sandwiching and holding the electric wires from both sides in a direction perpendicular to the axis of each of the electric wires and fixed to each other, the pair of split retaining bodies respectively having: a plurality of grooves respectively in close contact with the outer peripheral surfaces of the plurality of electric wires; and a split protrusion located between the plurality of grooves in the parallel direction of the plurality of electric wires, protruding in the direction of leading out the plurality of electric wires, being fixed to each other by the pair of split retaining bodies, thereby demarcating the plurality of electric wire insertion barrels by the plurality of grooves, and the plurality of electric wire insertion barrels being demarcated by the plurality of The wire pressing protrusion of the rear retaining body is formed by the first strapping tape being arranged in parallel with the plurality of wire insertion barrels and the plurality of wires extending in the lead-out direction. The wire pressing protrusion comprises: a pair of wire contact surfaces that contact the wires arranged on both sides in the parallel direction; and a pair of first belt mounting portions that are provided on end surfaces on both sides of a first direction orthogonal to the opposing direction of the pair of wire contact surfaces. The plurality of wires protruding from the plurality of wire insertion barrels and extending in the lead-out direction are bundled and fixed to each other in a state of close contact with the pair of wire contact surfaces of the wire pressing protrusion of the rear retaining body by a first strapping tape spanned between the pair of first strap mounting portions, the first strapping tape contacts the pair of first belt mounting portions from both sides in the first direction, and presses the split protrusions of the pair of split retaining bodies constituting the wire pressing protrusion against each other from both sides in the first direction.
[0010] According to the connector of the present invention, the rear retaining body made of synthetic resin is composed of a pair of split retaining bodies that clamp and retain the wires from both sides of the axis perpendicular to the wires and are fixed to each other, and the pair of split retaining bodies respectively have: a plurality of grooves, each in close contact with the outer peripheral surface of the wire; and a split protrusion, which is located between the plurality of grooves in the parallel direction of the wires and protrudes in the lead-out direction of the plurality of wires. In addition, by fixing the pair of split retaining bodies to each other, a plurality of wire insertion barrels are demarcated by the plurality of grooves, the plurality of wire insertion barrels are arranged in parallel, and the split protrusions are combined to form a wire pressing protrusion, which is arranged between the plurality of wires protruding from the plurality of wire insertion barrels and extending in the lead-out direction. Further, the wire pressing protrusion has: a pair of wire contact surfaces, which contact the wires arranged on both sides in the parallel direction of the wires; and a pair of first band mounting portions, which are arranged on the end faces on both sides of the first direction orthogonal to the opposing direction of the pair of wire contact surfaces.
[0011] Furthermore, by arranging and bundling the first bundling band between the pair of first band mounting portions, the plurality of wires protruding from the plurality of wire insertion barrels and extending in the lead-out direction can be made to be in close contact with the pair of wire contact surfaces of the wire pressing protrusion of the rear retaining body, with the wire pressing protrusion sandwiched between them and bundled and fixed to each other. Thus, the bundling force of the first bundling band can be used to make the plurality of wires protruding from the wire insertion barrel of the rear retaining body and extending in the lead-out direction in close contact with the pair of wire contact surfaces of the wire pressing protrusion, thereby suppressing the movement of the plurality of wires. As a result, the displacement of the wires protruding from the wire insertion barrel due to external force can be advantageously suppressed or prevented, and the generation of a gap between the rear retaining body and the wires due to the opening between the divided retaining bodies can be advantageously suppressed or prevented.
[0012] Furthermore, the first bundling band contacts the pair of first band mounting portions from both sides in the first direction, and the split protrusions of the pair of split retaining bodies constituting the wire pressing protrusions are pressed against each other from both sides in the first direction. As a result, the wire pressing protrusions constituted by the split protrusions of the pair of split retaining bodies can be held in the assembly direction by the bundling force of the first bundling band, and the opening between the split retaining bodies can be further advantageously suppressed or prevented.
[0013] Thus, in the connector of the present invention, the binding force of the first binding band can simultaneously achieve the goal of suppressing the movement of the electric wire relative to the rear retaining body and maintaining the split retaining bodies constituting the rear retaining body in a combined state. As a result, it is possible to provide a connector that suppresses the split retaining bodies from opening and suppresses the external force applied to the electric wire from being transmitted to the terminal side.
[0014] The rear retaining body only needs to be assembled to the connector housing side, for example, it can be assembled directly to the connector housing, or it can be assembled indirectly to the connector housing via other components assembled to the connector housing such as a metal shield shell covering the outer surface of the connector housing.
[0015] The first belt attachment portion or the second belt attachment portion described later may have any shape as long as the binding belt can be attached thereto, and may be a groove shape, a cylinder shape, or a frame shape.
[0016] (2) In the above (1), it is preferred that the pair of wire contact surfaces of the wire pressing protrusion are formed of curved surfaces that bulge inwardly in the opposing direction. This is because by forming the pair of wire contact surfaces as curved surfaces that bulge inwardly in the opposing direction, a wide contact area between the wires and the wire contact surfaces can be ensured, and the effect of the wire pressing protrusion disposed between the plurality of wires on holding the wires can be improved.
[0017] (3) In the above (1) or (2), it is preferred that a metal shielding shell is further provided, the shielding shell being fixed to the connector housing and covering the connector housing, and having a cylindrical wire lead-out port, from which the plurality of wires led to the outside of the connector housing are led out, the rear retaining body being engaged with the wire lead-out port of the shielding shell, the wire lead-out port of the shielding shell having a plurality of engaged portions arranged separately from each other in the circumferential direction of the wire lead-out port, the rear retaining body having: a first engaging portion having flattening ribs arranged on both sides in the first direction and engaged with the engaged portion; and a second engaging portion having flattening ribs arranged on both sides in the parallel direction and engaged with the engaged portion, wherein when the rear retaining body is engaged with the wire lead-out port, the first engaging portion is pressed against the engaged portion via the flattening ribs on both sides in the first direction, and the second engaging portion is pressed against the engaged portion via the flattening ribs on both sides in the parallel direction.
[0018] A rear retaining body, which holds and inserts a plurality of electric wires drawn out from a connector housing in a crimped state, is engaged with an electric wire lead-out port of a metal shielding shell fixed to the connector housing. The rear retaining body includes a first engaging portion and a second engaging portion, and in the state of being engaged with the electric wire lead-out port, the second engaging portion is crimped to the engaged portion of the electric wire lead-out port via a flattening rib on both sides (e.g., both sides) of the first direction in a first direction in a state of being engaged with the electric wire lead-out port, and the second engaging portion is crimped to the engaged portion of the electric wire lead-out port via a flattening rib on both sides (e.g., both sides) of the parallel direction of the electric wires. Therefore, even when the rear retaining body is engaged with the electric wire lead-out port of the shielding shell with a little shaking, the first engaging portion and the second engaging portion are crimped to the engaged portion while flattening the flattening rib in any of the first direction (e.g., the vertical direction) and the parallel direction (e.g., the left-right direction), which are two directions orthogonal to the lead-out direction (axial direction) of the electric wires. As a result, the displacement of the rear retaining body engaged with the wire lead-out port relative to the wire lead-out port can be suppressed by absorbing the shaking by the flattening rib. As a result, the connector housing or the rear retaining body will not be enlarged or the rear retaining body will not be made of metal. While the rear retaining body is made of synthetic resin, the displacement of the rear retaining body relative to the shielding shell caused by vibration when mounted on the vehicle can be suppressed by the flattening rib. Therefore, the enlargement of the connector itself or the increase in manufacturing cost can be suppressed, and the external force applied to the wire can be suppressed or prevented from being transmitted to the terminal side. In addition, the external force cutting performance of the rear retaining body to suppress the transmission of the external force from the wire can be improved. In particular, because the wire lead-out port engaged with the rear retaining body is composed of a metal shielding shell, compared with the case where the wire lead-out port is set in a synthetic resin connector housing, the occurrence of gaps caused by creep phenomena in a high temperature environment and other unfavorable conditions can be suppressed, and the crimping state of the engaging portion to the engaged portion via the flattening rib can be maintained.
[0019] Furthermore, the fitting structure of the rear retaining body with respect to the wire lead-out port of the shielding case may adopt any structure. For example, an elastic locking piece may be provided on the rear retaining body and locked and fitted with a locking protrusion provided on the shielding case.
[0020] (4) In the above (3), preferably, each of the split retaining bodies has a second belt mounting portion arranged on the end side opposite to the split protrusion in the lead-out direction, and the rear retaining body formed by assembling the split retaining bodies with each other has a pair of the second belt mounting portions arranged on both sides of the first direction, and the pair of split retaining bodies are pressed against each other from both sides of the first direction by a second bundling belt spanned between the pair of the second belt mounting portions, and the rear retaining body is bundled and fixed to the wire lead-out outlet of the shielding shell.
[0021] The split retaining body has a pair of second belt mounting parts on the side opposite to the split protrusion provided with the first belt mounting part in the lead-out direction, and the split retaining bodies can be held in a combined state by the second binding belt spanned between the pair of second belt mounting parts. Thus, the split retaining bodies can be held in the assembly direction by the binding force of the second binding belt at the portion separated from the split protrusion, and the split retaining bodies can be further advantageously suppressed or prevented from opening.
[0022] Furthermore, the rear retaining body can be fixedly tied to the wire lead-out port of the shield shell by the bundling force of the second bundling band. As a result, the split retaining bodies are prevented from opening, and the external force that can be transmitted to the wires can be further advantageously prevented from being transmitted to the terminal side.
[0023] (5) In the above (3) or (4), preferably, the plurality of the engaged parts of the wire lead-out port include a plurality of first engaged parts arranged on both sides of the parallel direction and a plurality of second engaged parts arranged on both sides of the first direction, and the rear retaining body includes a plurality of first engaging parts arranged on both sides of the parallel direction and a plurality of second engaging parts arranged on both sides of the first direction, and when the rear retaining body is in a fitted state with the wire lead-out port, the first engaging parts are pressed against the first engaged parts on both sides of the parallel direction via the flattening ribs on both sides of the first direction, and the second engaging parts are pressed against the second engaged parts on both sides of the first direction via the flattening ribs on both sides of the parallel direction.
[0024] On both sides of the first direction and the parallel direction, the engaging portion can be pressed against the engaged portion via the crushing ribs, further stably suppressing displacement of the rear retaining body relative to the shielding shell, and suppressing or preventing external force applied to the wire from being transmitted to the terminal side.
[0025] (6) In any one of the above (1) to (5), preferably, the diameter dimension of the inner circumferential surface of each of the wire insertion barrels of the rear retaining body is larger than the diameter dimension of the outer circumferential surface of each of the wires inserted inside the wire insertion barrel, and a plurality of wire pressing protrusions are protrudingly provided on the inner circumferential surface of each of the wire insertion barrels so as to be separated from each other, and each of the wire pressing protrusions protrudes radially inwardly than the outer circumferential surface of each of the wires, and the insulating covering portion constituting the outer circumferential surface of each of the wires is pressed radially inwardly by each of the wire pressing protrusions, so that the wires are inserted and retained in the wire insertion barrel in a crimped state.
[0026] The diameter of the inner circumference of each wire insertion barrel is larger than the diameter of the outer circumference of each wire, forming a gap between them. Furthermore, a plurality of wire pressing protrusions are arranged separately from each other. Therefore, the insulating sheath that is elastically deformed radially outward by being pressed by the wire pressing protrusion can be absorbed into the gap expanded between the wire pressing protrusions. Therefore, the position of the wire to the wire insertion barrel can be advantageously fixed by pressing the insulating sheath by the wire pressing protrusion, and the assembly force when assembling the wire insertion barrel to the wire can be reduced, which can improve the assembly workability. Preferably, it is desired that a plurality of wire pressing protrusions are dispersed separately from each other in either the axial direction and the circumferential direction of the wire insertion barrel. Thus, the wire can be fixed in a wider range by pressing the wire pressing protrusion, and the external force cutting performance of suppressing the transmission of external force from the wire by the rear retaining body can be further improved.
[0027] (7) In any one of the above (3) to (5), it is preferred that the rear retaining body has an elastic locking piece protruding in a cantilever beam shape toward the wire lead-out port of the shielding shell, the elastic locking piece has a fitting hole at the protruding end, the shielding shell has a protruding locking protrusion on the outer peripheral surface of the wire lead-out port, and the rear retaining body is fitted with the wire lead-out port of the shielding shell by fitting the locking protrusion of the shielding shell into the fitting hole of the elastic locking piece of the rear retaining body. Since it is sufficient to provide the elastic locking piece on the rear retaining body made of synthetic resin and form the locking protrusion on the shielding shell, the elastic locking piece can be easily formed and the structure of the shielding shell can be simplified, thereby suppressing the manufacturing cost.
[0028] (8) In the above (7), preferably, the wire lead-out port of the shielding shell has a concave locking piece receiving portion opening on the outer peripheral surface of the wire lead-out port, the locking protrusion is protrudingly provided on the bottom surface of the locking piece receiving portion, and when the rear retaining body is in the engaged state relative to the shielding shell, the elastic locking piece of the rear retaining body is received in the locking piece receiving portion.
[0029] When the rear retaining body is in a fitted state relative to the shielding shell, the elastic locking piece of the rear retaining body is received in the locking piece receiving portion of the shielding shell, so that the elastic locking piece can be suppressed from protruding toward the outer peripheral side of the wire lead-out port. Thus, the interference between the elastic locking piece and other components can be suppressed, thereby advantageously suppressing the unexpected detachment of the rear retaining body from the wire lead-out port, etc. Furthermore, since the locking protrusion of the wire lead-out port is also provided on the bottom surface of the locking piece receiving portion, the locking protrusion is also suppressed from protruding toward the outer peripheral side of the wire lead-out port, thereby suppressing the interference with other components. In addition, more preferably, the depth dimension of the locking piece receiving portion is adjusted so that the elastic locking piece does not protrude toward the outer peripheral side from the outer peripheral surface of the wire lead-out port.
[0030] (9) In the above (8), it is preferred that a plurality of notch-shaped engaged portions are provided at the tubular end portion of the wire lead-out outlet of the shielding shell located on the lead-out direction side of the wire, the notch-shaped engaged portions penetrating in the plate thickness direction and opening on the end face on the lead-out direction side, at least one engaged portion is provided at the bottom face opening of the locking piece accommodating portion, and a second engaging portion is provided at the base end side of the elastic locking piece of the rear retaining body, the second engaging portion having a protruding shape that protrudes from the elastic locking piece toward the wire side and is pressed into the at least one engaged portion.
[0031] Since the engaged portion provided at the wire lead-out port of the shielding shell is formed in the shape of a notch that penetrates the plate thickness direction of the cylindrical end portion and opens at the end surface on the wire lead-out direction side, the engaged portion can be provided without increasing the size of the shielding shell. Furthermore, one of the engaged portions is provided at the bottom opening of the locking piece storage portion, and the second engaging portion pressed therein is in a protruding shape that protrudes from the elastic locking piece toward the wire side, so that the free space on the back side of the elastic locking piece can be cleverly utilized and the space efficiency can be well provided. Thus, the engaged portion and the second engaging portion embedded therein can be provided in a space-saving manner without increasing the size of the connector.
[0032] (10) In the above (9), preferably, the rear retaining body includes a mounting tube portion embedded in the inner peripheral side of the cylindrical end portion of the wire lead-out port, and the first engaging portion having a protruding shape protruding from the outer peripheral surface of the mounting tube portion, and when the rear retaining body is in an engaged state relative to the shielding shell, the first engaging portion is housed in the engaged portion without protruding toward the outer peripheral side of the wire lead-out port.
[0033] The first engaging portion protrudes from the outer peripheral surface of the mounting cylindrical portion of the rear retaining body embedded in the inner peripheral side of the cylindrical end of the wire lead-out port, and the first engaging portion is accommodated in the engaged portion provided through the plate thickness direction of the cylindrical end, and the first engaging portion can be pressed into the engaged portion. Therefore, the engaged portion and the first engaging portion pressed therein can be arranged by utilizing the cylindrical end of the wire lead-out port, and the engaged portion and the first engaging portion embedded therein can be arranged in a space-saving manner without increasing the size of the connector.

In Embodiment 1, the parallel direction of the wires 16 is the left-right direction. As described later, the wires 16 are led out from the connector housings 14 to the rear, and the leading direction of the wires 16 is the front-back direction (particularly, the direction from the front to the rear).
[0038] Furthermore, in the first embodiment, the connector 10 includes a metal shield shell 24, which is fixed to the connector housing 14 and covers the connector housing 14, and has a cylindrical wire lead-out port 22, and the plurality of wires 16 led out to the outside of the connector housing 14 are led out from the wire lead-out port 22. Furthermore, the rear retaining body 18 is fitted into the wire lead-out port 22 of the shield shell 24.
[0039] <Terminal 12> In Embodiment 1, the unillustrated opposite-side terminal connected to each terminal 12 is a pin terminal. As long as it has a cylindrical connecting portion 26 into which the pin-shaped opposite-side terminal is pressed, its specific structure is not limited. For example, a structure such as the female terminal (10) described in Japanese Patent Gazette No. 2021-28899 can be adopted. In more detail, each terminal 12 of Embodiment 1 includes a terminal body 28 having a cylindrical connecting portion 26 and a clip spring 30 as an elastic member assembled to the top end (front end) of the terminal body 28. In addition, a wire fixing portion 32 is provided at the base end (rear end) of each terminal body 28, and each wire 16 is fixed to the wire fixing portion 32.
[0040] Each electric wire 16 is a covered electric wire, and is composed of a core wire 34 and an insulating coating 36 made of synthetic resin that covers the core wire 34 over substantially the entire length. The insulating coating 36 is stripped off at the terminal of each electric wire 16 to expose the core wire 34, and the exposed core wire 34 is fixed to the wire fixing portion 32 of each terminal body 28, thereby connecting each terminal body 28 and each electric wire 16. In addition, the fixing method of the wire fixing portion 32 and the core wire 34 is not limited, and it can be adhesive, welding, etc., or crimping using a crimping piece.
[0041] <Connector Housing 14> like Figure 2As shown, the connector housing 14 has a terminal receiving portion 38 that is roughly rectangular and cylindrical, and the front end portion of each wire 16 and each terminal 12 fixed to the terminal of each wire 16 are received in the terminal receiving portion 38. As described above, in Embodiment 1, a pair of connector housings 14, 14 are provided, and each connector housing 14 has a terminal receiving portion 38. Each connector housing 14 (each terminal receiving portion 38) is separated from each other in the left-right direction and extends in the front-back direction. In addition, each wire 16 received in each terminal receiving portion 38 is led out to the external space through the rear opening portion 40 of each connector housing 14 (each terminal receiving portion 38). That is, each wire 16 is led out from each connector housing 14 toward the rear, and the lead-out direction of each wire 16 is the front-back direction (particularly the direction from the front toward the rear).
[0042] In addition, the method of fixing each of these connector housings 14 and the shield shell 24 fixed in a state of covering each connector housing 14 is not limited. In the first embodiment, as described later, each connector housing 14 is inserted into the inside from the rear opening (wire lead-out port 22) of the shield shell 24. And, for example, each connector housing 14 is fixed to the shield shell 24 by fitting the concave and convex parts provided on the outer surface of each connector housing 14 and the inner surface of the shield shell 24.
[0043] <Rear holding body 18> Also like Fig.12 As shown, the rear retaining body 18 has a pair of split retaining bodies 42a and 42b, and the pair of split retaining bodies 42a and 42b sandwich and retain each wire 16 from both sides of the axis perpendicular to the axis of each wire 16 (both sides of the vertical direction in the first embodiment) and fix each wire 16 to each other. In particular, in the first embodiment, the pair of split retaining bodies 42a and 42b are formed in the same shape as each other, and the rear retaining body 18 is formed by assembling the pair of split retaining bodies 42a and 42b in a vertically reversed state. Figures 8 to 11 , one side (upper) split retaining body 42a is described, and the description of the other side (lower) split retaining body 42b is omitted.
[0044] <Dividing and holding bodies 42a, 42b> The split retaining body 42a has: a plurality of (a pair in the first embodiment) grooves 44, 44, which are in close contact with the outer peripheral surface of each wire 16 (the outer peripheral surface of each insulating coating 36); and a split protrusion 46, which is located between the plurality of grooves 44, 44 in the parallel direction (left-right direction) of the plurality of wires 16 and protrudes in the lead-out direction (rearward) of the plurality of wires 16. And, by fixing the pair of split retaining bodies 42a, 42b to each other, the wire insertion barrel 20 is demarcated by the upper and lower grooves 44, and the plurality of (a pair of) wire insertion barrels 20, 20 are arranged in parallel in the left-right direction. In addition, by fixing the pair of split retaining bodies 42a, 42b to each other, the upper and lower split protrusions 46 constitute a wire pressing protrusion 48, which is arranged in the left-right direction between the wires 16 that protrude from the wire insertion barrel 20 in the lead-out direction (rearward).
[0045] More specifically, the split retaining body 42a includes split barrels 50 constituting each groove 44, and a pair of split barrels 50, 50 are disposed in a manner separated from each other in the left-right direction. Furthermore, the pair of split retaining bodies 42a, 42b are fixed to each other, so that each wire insertion barrel 20 is constituted by each upper and lower split barrel 50. In addition, in Embodiment 1, the rear portions of the pair of split barrels 50, 50 disposed on the left and right sides have different circumferential lengths. That is, as Figure 4 As shown, in the split retaining body 42a on the upper side, the split barrel portion 50 provided on the left side is formed with a circumferential length shorter than 1 / 2 of a circle, and the split barrel portion 50 provided on the right side is formed with a circumferential length of approximately 1 / 2 of a circle or slightly longer than 1 / 2 of a circle. Thus, when the upper and lower split barrel portions 50 are overlapped to form the wire insertion barrel portions 20, a gap 52 extending in the front-rear direction is formed between the upper and lower split barrel portions 50 in the circumferential direction at the rear portion of the wire insertion barrel portions 20.
[0046] In addition, in the split retaining body 42a, the left and right split tubes 50 are connected by the connecting portion 54. As described above, since the split protrusion 46 is provided between the left and right grooves 44 (the split tubes 50), the split protrusion 46 is provided on the connecting portion 54, and the split protrusion 46 protrudes to the rear of each split tube 50. In the split retaining body 42a on the upper side, the lower surface of the connecting portion 54 is a flat surface, and the upper and lower split retaining bodies 42a and 42b are fixed to each other, so that the flat surfaces of the connecting portion 54 overlap each other. In addition, a weight reduction portion can also be provided at appropriate positions of each of the left and right split tubes 50 and the connecting portion 54.
[0047] Furthermore, in the pair of split barrels 50, 50 provided on the left and right sides, the circumferential length of the front portion is approximately 1 / 2 of a circle. Thus, when the upper and lower split barrels 50 are overlapped to form each wire insertion barrel 20, the front portion of each wire insertion barrel 20 becomes approximately cylindrical. In Embodiment 1, the diameter size of the inner circumference of each wire insertion barrel 20 formed by the upper and lower split barrels 50 (each groove 44) is (Refer to Figure 4 ) is larger than the diameter of the outer peripheral surface of each wire 16 inserted into the interior of each wire insertion barrel 20 (Refer to Figure 4 ).
[0048] <Wire Pressing Projection 48> The wire pressing protrusion 48 formed by overlapping the divided protrusions 46 has a pair of wire contact surfaces 56, 56 (see Figure 5 ), a pair of wire contact surfaces 56, 56 are arranged on both sides in the parallel direction (left-right direction) of each wire 16, and are in contact with each wire 16. In Embodiment 1, each wire contact surface 56 is composed of a curved surface that protrudes inward in the opposing direction (left-right direction) thereof, and the center in the up-down direction of each wire contact surface 56 protrudes most inward in the left-right direction. In addition, the wire pressing protrusion 48 has a pair of first belt mounting portions 58, 58 on the end surfaces on both sides of the first direction orthogonal to the opposing direction (left-right direction) of the pair of wire contact surfaces 56, 56, that is, in the up-down direction. In addition, in Embodiment 1, the curvature of each wire contact surface 56 is substantially equal to the curvature of the outer peripheral surface of each wire 16 (the outer peripheral surface of each insulating covering portion 36), and each wire contact surface 56 is formed into a curved surface shape substantially corresponding to the outer peripheral surface of each wire 16. Thus, when each wire contact surface 56 is in close contact with the outer peripheral surface of each wire 16 , each wire contact surface 56 is in close contact with the outer peripheral surface of each wire 16 over substantially the entire surface.
[0049] Furthermore, since the wire pressing protrusion 48 is divided into the divided protrusions 46 in the vertical direction, each wire contact surface 56 is also divided in the vertical direction. Figure 5 , Fig.12 As shown in the figures, the split contact surfaces 60 constituting the wire contact surfaces 56 are provided on both sides of the split protrusions 46 in the left and right directions. That is, in the split retaining body 42a on the upper side, the split contact surfaces 60 are provided on the left and right outer surfaces of the lower end portion of the split protrusion 46, and the split contact surfaces 60 are gradually curved outward in the left and right directions as they go upward. And, by overlapping the upper and lower split retaining bodies 42a and 42b, the split contact surfaces 60, 60 in the up-down inverted state are continuous with each other in the up-down direction, thereby constituting the wire contact surfaces 56 that protrude most inward in the left-right direction at the center in the up-down direction.
[0050] <First belt mounting portion 58> In addition, a first belt mounting portion 58 is formed on the upper end surface of the split protrusion 46 in the split retaining body 42a on the upper side. In the first embodiment, the first belt mounting portion 58 is in the shape of a groove extending in the left-right direction, and is composed of a flat surface 62 and two side edges 64, 64, the flat surface 62 is formed by the upper end surface of the split protrusion 46 and extends over the entire length in the left-right direction, and the two side edges 64, 64 protrude upward from the flat surface 62 on both sides in the front-back direction of the flat surface 62. In this way, by forming the first belt mounting portion 58 on the upper end surface of the split protrusion 46 in the split retaining body 42a, a pair of first belt mounting portions 58, 58 are provided on the end surfaces of the wire pressing protrusion 48 in the upper and lower directions formed by overlapping the upper and lower split protrusions 46, 46.
[0051] <First Binding Band 65> Furthermore, the wires 16 protruding from the wire insertion tubes 20 and extending rearward are bound and fixed to each other in a state of being in close contact with the wire contact surfaces 56 of the wire pressing projections 48 in the rear retaining body 18 by the first binding bands 65 provided between the first band mounting parts 58. In addition, the first binding bands 65 contact the first band mounting parts 58 from both sides in the up-down direction, and press the divided projections 46 of the upper and lower divided retaining bodies 42a and 42b constituting the wire pressing projections 48 from both sides in the up-down direction. In short, the first binding bands 65 are inserted into the first band mounting parts 58 each having a substantially groove shape, and the up-down side portions of the first binding bands 65 are inserted between the side edges 64 of the first band mounting parts 58 and overlap the flat surfaces 62. Thus, the first binding bands 65 are prevented from falling off from the first band mounting parts 58.
[0052] In addition, if Figure 5 As shown in FIG. 1 , the left and right side portions of the first bundling band 65 overlap and closely contact the left and right side portions of the outer peripheral surface of each wire 16 (the outer peripheral surface of each insulating coating 36) from the outside. That is, the left and right sides of each wire 16 closely contact the wire pressing protrusion 48 and the first bundling band 65, and are clamped between these wire pressing protrusions 48 and the first bundling band 65. In the first embodiment, the vertical dimension γ of the wire pressing protrusion 48 (refer to Figure 5 ) is smaller than the diameter of the outer peripheral surface of each wire 16 When the first binding band 65 is used to bind and fix the wires, the possibility that the upper and lower sides of the first binding band 65 float from the flat surfaces 62 of the first band mounting parts 58 is reduced. Thus, the first binding band 65 can prevent the upper and lower divided cylinders 50, 50 in the upper and lower divided retaining bodies 42a, 42b from shifting in the opening (separation) direction to each other and causing gaps to be generated between the wire insertion cylinders 20 and the wires 16. The first binding band 65 is made of, for example, synthetic resin, and a conventionally known binding band can be used.
[0053] <Wire Pressing Convexity 66> And, as Figure 4 , Fig. 9 As shown, a plurality of wire pressing protrusions 66 protruding radially inward are formed on the inner circumferential surface of each of the left and right split barrels 50 in the split retaining body 42a. In each of the split barrels 50, a plurality of wire pressing protrusions 66 are arranged circumferentially separately from each other on the same circumference. In addition, a plurality of wire pressing protrusions 66 arranged circumferentially separately from each other on the same circumference are arranged at two places in the front-to-back direction. The plurality of wire pressing protrusions 66 arranged in each of the left and right split barrels 50 are located at approximately the same position in the front-to-back direction. Therefore, when each split barrel 50 is overlapped in the up-down direction to form each wire insertion barrel 20, in each wire insertion barrel 20 in a roughly cylindrical shape, a plurality of wire pressing protrusions 66 are arranged circumferentially separately from each other over the entire circumference on the same circumference.
[0054] like Figure 4 As shown, the plurality of wire pressing protrusions 66 protrude radially inwardly from the outer peripheral surface of each wire 16 when each wire 16 is inserted into each wire insertion barrel 20. As a result, the insulating coating 36 constituting the outer peripheral surface of each wire 16 is pressed radially inwardly by each wire pressing protrusion 66. Thus, each wire 16 is inserted into and held in each wire insertion barrel 20 in a crimped state. In addition, in Embodiment 1, as described later, after the rear retaining body 18 is mounted on each wire 16, the rear retaining body 18 is moved forward and assembled to the shielding shell 24, so that the insulating coating 36 of each wire 16 can be pressed by each wire pressing protrusion 66 while the rear retaining body 18 is displaced in the front-rear direction relative to each wire 16.
[0055] In addition, in the split retaining body 42a, a locking claw portion 68 protruding downward is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the rear portion of the split barrel portion 50 on one side (the left side in the first embodiment), and a locking frame body 70 protruding toward the outer peripheral side is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the split barrel portion 50 on the other side (the right side in the first embodiment). Thus, when the upper and lower split retaining bodies 42a and 42b are overlapped to form each wire insertion barrel portion 20, each locking claw portion 68 and / or each locking frame body 70 is elastically deformed and engaged. As a result, the separation of each split barrel portion 50 can be prevented, and each wire insertion barrel portion 20 is maintained in a substantially cylindrical shape.
[0056] Furthermore, a base 72 is provided at the front portion of the split retaining body 42a. That is, the base 72 is formed by a portion of the front portion of each of the left and right split tube portions 50 having a circumferential length of approximately 1 / 2 of the circumference and a front portion of the connecting portion 54 provided between these split tube portions 50. In other words, each of the left and right split tube portions 50 and the connecting portion 54 protrude from the base 72 toward the rear. The base 72 has a predetermined thickness dimension (forward and backward dimension), and is also Fig.11 As shown, when viewed in the front-to-back direction, the overall shape is roughly rectangular, but the corresponding parts of each groove 44 are recessed into a roughly semicircular shape.
[0057] When the upper and lower split retaining bodies 42a and 42b are assembled to form the rear retaining body 18, the base 72 on one side and the base 72 on the other side that is reversed vertically overlap in the vertical direction. Figure 3 As shown, the pair of bases 72, 72 are overlapped in the vertical direction to form a mounting tube 74 that is embedded in the inner peripheral side of a later-described cylindrical end 128 in the wire lead-out port 22. That is, when the rear retaining body 18 is assembled to the shield shell 24 to form the connector 10, the mounting tube 74 is embedded in the cylindrical end 128.
[0058] In addition, in the split retaining body 42a, a plurality of ribs 76 extending backward from the base 72 are provided on the upper surfaces of the left and right split cylinders 50 and the connecting portion 54, and these plurality of ribs 76 are separated from each other in the left-right direction. These plurality of ribs 76 are respectively roughly triangular or roughly trapezoidal when viewed in the left-right direction, and have a portion whose vertical dimension gradually decreases from the front toward the rear. Through these plurality of ribs 76, each of the left and right split cylinders 50 and the connecting portion 54 is respectively reinforced.
[0059] In particular, in each rib 76, the vertical dimension of the front portion is larger than that of the rear portion, so that when the rear retaining body 18 is engaged with the wire lead-out port 22 of the shielding shell 24, the reinforcing effect of the portion close to the wire lead-out port 22 can be more strongly exerted, and the displacement of each wire 16 inserted into each wire insertion barrel portion 20 near the wire lead-out port 22 can be prevented. In contrast, by making the vertical dimension of the rear portion of each rib 76 smaller than that of the front portion, elastic deformation of each left and right split barrel portion 50 is allowed to some extent, reducing the possibility of damage to each wire 16 when each wire 16 is greatly displaced relative to each split barrel portion 50.
[0060] <Elastic locking piece 78> Furthermore, an elastic locking piece 78 is provided at the upper end of the base 72. The elastic locking piece 78 protrudes in a cantilever beam shape toward the front, that is, toward the wire lead-out port 22 of the shielding shell 24, and the elastic locking piece 78 can be elastically deformed in the vertical direction. A pair of elastic locking pieces 78, 78 are provided in the split retaining body 42a, and each elastic locking piece 78 is separated from each other in the left-right direction. Specifically, each elastic locking piece 78 is provided at a position corresponding to each of the left and right split cylinders 50. In addition, a substantially rectangular fitting hole 80 penetrating in the vertical direction is provided at the protruding end (front end) of each of these elastic locking pieces 78. Furthermore, in the split retaining body 42a, a second band mounting portion 82 for mounting a second binding band 87 described later is provided at the protruding base end (rear end) of the upper end surface of each elastic locking piece 78.
[0061] <Second belt mounting portion 82> Each second belt mounting portion 82 is a groove-shaped portion extending in the left-right direction similarly to the first belt mounting portion 58 described above. Each second belt mounting portion 82 is composed of a flat surface 84 and two side edges 86, 86. The flat surface 84 is composed of the upper end surface of each elastic locking piece 78 and extends over the entire length in the left-right direction. The two side edges 86, 86 protrude upward from the flat surface 84 on both sides of the flat surface 84 in the front-back direction. That is, each second belt mounting portion 82 is provided on the end side (front end side) opposite to the split protrusion 46 in the lead-out direction (front-back direction) of each electric wire 16 in the split retaining body 42a. Furthermore, by forming each second belt mounting portion 82 on the upper end surface of each elastic locking piece 78 in the split retaining body 42a, each second belt mounting portion 82, 82 is provided on the end surfaces on both sides in the first direction (up-down direction) of the rear retaining body 18 formed by overlapping the upper and lower split retaining bodies 42a and 42b.
[0062] <Second strapping band 87> The upper and lower divided retaining bodies 42a and 42b are pressed against each other from both upper and lower sides by the second binding band 87 provided between the second band mounting parts 82, and the rear retaining body 18 is bound and fixed to the wire lead-out port 22 of the shielding case 24. In short, the second binding band 87 is inserted into each of the second band mounting parts 82, each of which is substantially groove-shaped, and the upper and lower side portions of the second binding band 87 are inserted between the side edge portions 86 of each of the second band mounting parts 82 and overlap with the flat surface 84. Thus, the second binding band 87 is prevented from falling off from each of the second band mounting parts 82.
[0063] In addition, if Figure 3 As shown, the left and right side portions of the second binding band 87 overlap and closely contact with the left and right side outer portions of the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical end portion 128 of the shield shell 24 described later from the outside. In the first embodiment, the second binding band 87 is provided so as to cover the engagement portion of the rear retaining body 18 and the shield shell 24, that is, the engagement portion of the first engaging portion 104 and the first engaged portion 132 described later, and the engagement portion of the second engaging portion 108 and the second engaged portion 134 from the outside. As a result, for example, the possibility that the vibration transmitted from the outside through the electric wires 16 is transmitted to the rear retaining body 18 and the engagement between the rear retaining body 18 and the shield shell 24 is released is reduced. In addition, the second binding band 87 is made of, for example, synthetic resin, and a conventionally known binding band can be used.
[0064] Furthermore, in the elastic locking piece 78, at the front end of each second belt mounting portion 82, there are: a pair of front protrusions 88, 88 that are separated from each other in the left-right direction and protrude forward; and a connecting portion 90 that connects the protruding top ends (front ends) of these front protrusions 88. And, the area surrounded by these second belt mounting portions 82, each front protrusion 88 and the connecting portion 90 constitutes the fitting hole 80. In addition, as shown in Figure 3 , Fig.11 As shown, at the protruding base end (rear end) of each elastic locking piece 78 in the split retaining body 42a, a pair of downward extensions 92, 92 are provided to be separated from each other in the left-right direction, and the pair of downward extensions 92, 92 extend downward along the front surface of the base 72. Figure 3 , Fig.11 As shown in FIG. 1 , the outer surfaces of the lower extensions 92 separated from each other in the left-right direction are provided with the flattening ribs 106 of the second engaging portion 108 described later. Figure 3 In FIG. 1 , the flattened ribs 102 and 106 before deformation are represented by double-dashed lines.
[0065] In addition, in the split retaining body 42a, an elastic locking frame 94 protruding downward is provided on the left end surface of the base 72, and a locking claw portion 96 protruding rightward is provided on the right end surface. The elastic locking frame 94 can be elastically deformed in the left-right direction, and the split retaining bodies 42a and 42b are placed opposite to each other in the up-down direction and the elastic locking frame 94 and the locking claw portion 96 are engaged, thereby forming the rear retaining body 18. That is, in addition to the engagement of the locking claw portion 68 and the locking frame 70, the elastic locking frame 94 and the locking claw portion 96 are also engaged, so that the upper and lower split retaining bodies 42a and 42b can be prevented from separating, and the rear retaining body 18 is formed.
[0066] In addition, the elastic locking frame 94 has: a pair of lower protrusions 98, 98 separated from each other in the front-back direction and protruding downward from the base 72; and a connecting portion 100 connecting the protruding top ends (lower ends) of these lower protrusions 98. And the locking claw portion 96 is engaged with the area surrounded by these lower protrusions 98 and the connecting portion 100.
[0067] <First Engaging Section 104 and Second Engaging Section 108> Here, the rear retaining body 18 has a first engaging portion 104 and a second engaging portion 108. The first engaging portion 104 has crushing ribs 102, 102 provided on both sides in the first direction (up and down direction) and engages with a first engaged portion 132 constituting an engaged portion 130 described later in the shielding shell 24. The second engaging portion 108 has crushing ribs 106, 106 provided on both sides in the parallel direction (left and right direction) of each electric wire 16 and engages with a second engaged portion 134 constituting the engaged portion 130 described later. As described later, in the electric wire lead-out port 22 of the shielding shell 24, a plurality of first engaged portions 132 are arranged on both sides in the left and right direction, and a plurality of second engaged portions 134 are arranged on both sides in the up and down direction. Therefore, in the rear retaining body 18, a plurality of first engaging portions 104 are arranged on both sides in the left and right direction, and a plurality of second engaging portions 108 are arranged on both sides in the up and down direction.
[0068] Specifically, in the split retaining body 42a, the first engaging portion 104 is formed in a protruding shape protruding from the outer peripheral surface of the elastic locking frame 94 provided at the left end toward the outer peripheral side (left side). That is, in the middle part in the vertical direction of a pair of lower protruding portions 98, 98 separated in the front-back direction in the elastic locking frame 94, there are provided longitudinal wall portions 110, 110 that protrude to the left and expand in the vertical direction. In addition, the protruding top end (left end) of each longitudinal wall portion 110 is connected by a connecting wall portion 112. Also, as shown in FIG. Figure 8 , 10As shown, a substantially rectangular through hole 114 is formed in the area surrounded by each vertical wall portion 110 and the connecting wall portion 112 and penetrates in the vertical direction. In addition, the first engaging portion 104 is formed by including each vertical wall portion 110 and the connecting wall portion 112, and the flattening ribs 102, 102 protruding from both sides of each vertical wall portion 110 in the first direction (vertical direction) are provided on the upper and lower end surfaces of the connecting wall portion 112. By assembling the upper and lower divided retaining bodies 42a, 42b of such a shape to each other in the vertical direction, the first engaging portion 104 is provided on both sides of the left and right direction of the rear retaining body 18. Furthermore, the first engaging portion 104 is provided to protrude from the outer peripheral surface of the elastic locking frame body 94 constituting the base 72, so it is also provided to protrude from the outer peripheral surface of the mounting cylinder portion 74 constituted by the pair of bases 72, 72.
[0069] In the state of the split retaining body 42a alone before the first engaging portion 104 is engaged with the first engaged portion 132 described later, the vertical dimension A between the protruding tips of the crushing ribs 102 (see Fig.11 ) is larger than the vertical dimension C of the first engaged portion 132 described later (refer to Figure 7 ). Thus, when the rear retaining body 18 is engaged with the wire lead-out port 22 and each first engaging portion 104 is engaged with each first engaged portion 132, each first engaging portion 104 is pressed against each first engaged portion 132 via each flattening rib 102 on both sides in the first direction (upward and downward direction). In addition, when each first engaging portion 104 is engaged with each first engaged portion 132, each first engaging portion 104 is received in each first engaged portion 132 without protruding toward the outer peripheral side of the wire lead-out port 22.
[0070] As described above, in the split retaining body 42a, the flattening ribs 106, 106 of the second engaging portion 108 are provided on the outer surface in the left-right direction of each lower extending portion 92 extending downward from each elastic locking piece 78. Specifically, each flattening rib 106 is provided on the upper end portion of each lower extending portion 92, and each second engaging portion 108 is formed including the upper end portion of each lower extending portion 92. That is, each second engaging portion 108 is formed in a protruding shape including each lower extending portion 92 protruding from each elastic locking piece 78 toward each electric wire 16 side (lower side) on the base end side (rear side) of each elastic locking piece 78 of the rear retaining body 18 (split retaining body 42a). By assembling the upper and lower split retaining bodies 42a, 42b having such a shape to each other in the upper and lower directions, the second engaging portions 108 are provided on both sides of the rear retaining body 18 in the first direction (upper and lower directions).
[0071] In the state of the split holding body 42a alone before the second engaging portion 108 is engaged with the second engaged portion 134 described later, the left-right dimension B between the protruding tips of the crushing ribs 106 (see Fig.11 ) is larger than the left-right dimension D of the second engaged portion 134 (refer to Figure 7 ). Thus, when the rear retaining body 18 is engaged with the wire outlet 22 and each second engaging portion 108 is engaged with each second engaged portion 134, each second engaging portion 108 is pressed against each second engaged portion 134 via each flattening rib 106 on both sides in the left-right direction. Figure 3 As shown, a space may be provided between the lower extension portions 92 in the left-right direction, so that when the crushing ribs 106 are pressed against the second engaged portions 134 , the lower extension portions 92 may be elastically deformed slightly inward in the opposing direction.
[0072] By making the split retaining body 42a into such a shape, the mold used for forming can be pulled out in the up and down direction when the split retaining body 42a is formed. As a result, the types of molds will not increase, and the increase in cost can be avoided. In addition, by making the upper and lower split retaining bodies 42a and 42b have the same shape, the increase in the number of types of parts can also be suppressed, and the cost can be reduced. In addition, the upper and lower split retaining bodies do not necessarily need to have the same shape.
[0073] <Shielding case 24> The shield shell 24 is generally in a substantially cylindrical shape with an opening at the front, and covers substantially the entirety of the pair of connector housings 14, 14. That is, the shield shell 24 includes: an upper wall portion 116 that covers the upper portion of each connector housing 14; a lower wall portion 118 that covers the lower portion of each connector housing 14; a left wall portion 120 that covers the left connector housing 14 from the left; a right wall portion 122 that covers the right connector housing 14 from the right; and a front wall portion 124 that covers the front of each connector housing 14. In addition, inside the shield shell 24, a partition portion 126 is provided between the left and right directions of each connector housing 14 (each terminal housing portion 38), and the partition portion 126 partitions the internal space of the shield shell 24 in the left and right directions.
[0074] The partition 126 is formed with a front-to-rear dimension that extends rearward from the front wall 124 of the shield shell 24 but does not reach the rear opening of the shield shell 24. Figure 3 , Figure 7 As shown, the rear opening of the shield shell 24 is formed in a substantially rectangular cylindrical shape surrounded by the upper wall 116, the lower wall 118, the left wall 120, and the right wall 122. Furthermore, each of the electric wires 16 led out to the rear through the rear opening 40 of each connector housing 14 is led out to the outside of the shield shell 24 through the rear opening of the shield shell 24 in a substantially rectangular cylindrical shape, and the rear opening of the shield shell 24 constitutes a cylindrical electric wire lead-out port 22.
[0075] In particular, the end portion of the wire lead-out port 22 of the shield shell 24 on the rear side, which is the lead-out direction side of each wire 16, is formed with a cylindrical end portion 128. That is, as described above, the cylindrical end portion 128 is a substantially cylindrical portion surrounded by the upper wall portion 116, the lower wall portion 118, the left wall portion 120, and the right wall portion 122, and a substantially flatly expanded portion is provided in the middle portion in the left-right direction of the upper wall portion 116 and the lower wall portion 118 and the middle portion in the up-down direction of the left wall portion 120 and the right wall portion 122. In addition, in the cylindrical end portion 128, the upper wall portion 116 and the lower wall portion 118 are connected to the left wall portion 120 and the right wall portion 122 at both end portions in the left-right direction, and these connected portions are formed with portions bent into a rounded shape.
[0076] <Engaged portion 130> Here, a plurality of engaged portions 130 are provided at the wire lead-out port 22 of the shield shell 24, and the plurality of engaged portions 130 are separated from each other in the circumferential direction of the wire lead-out port 22. Specifically, a plurality of notch-shaped engaged portions 130 are provided at the cylindrical end portion 128 of the wire lead-out port 22, and the plurality of engaged portions 130 penetrate in the plate thickness direction and open at the end surface on the lead-out direction side (rear side) of each wire 16. More specifically, the plurality of engaged portions 130 are provided at the cylindrical end portion 128 on both sides of the first direction (in the up-down direction in the first embodiment) orthogonal to the lead-out direction (front-back direction) of each wire 16 and the parallel direction of each wire 16 (in the left-right direction in the first embodiment) orthogonal to both the extending direction of each wire 16 and the first direction. That is, the engaged portion 130 includes a plurality of first engaged portions 132 disposed on both sides in the left-right direction and a plurality of second engaged portions 134 disposed on both sides in the up-down direction at the cylindrical end portion 128. Figure 7 As shown, the first engaged portion 132 is provided on the left wall portion 120 and the right wall portion 122 constituting the cylindrical end portion 128 , respectively, and the second engaged portion 134 is provided on the upper wall portion 116 and the lower wall portion 118 constituting the cylindrical end portion 128 , respectively.
[0077] Each first engaged portion 132 is provided at a substantially flatly extended middle portion in the vertical direction of the left wall portion 120 and the right wall portion 122 constituting the cylindrical end portion 128, is opened at the rear end surface of the cylindrical end portion 128, and penetrates in the horizontal direction which is the plate thickness direction. Each of these first engaged portions 132 has a predetermined vertical dimension C (see Figure 7 ).
[0078] Each second engaged portion 134 is provided at a substantially flatly extended middle portion in the left-right direction of the upper wall portion 116 and the lower wall portion 118 constituting the cylindrical end portion 128. In the first embodiment, a pair of second engaged portions 134, 134 are provided in the upper wall portion 116 and the lower wall portion 118, respectively, separated from each other in the left-right direction. Each second engaged portion 134 opens at the rear end surface of the cylindrical end portion 128 and penetrates in the up-down direction which becomes the plate thickness direction, and has a predetermined left-right direction dimension D (refer to Figure 7 ).
[0079] <Locking piece storage portion 136> In particular, in the first embodiment, a concave locking piece receiving portion 136 for receiving each elastic locking piece 78 of the rear retaining body 18 is provided on the outer peripheral side and the rear opening on the outer peripheral side of the outer peripheral surface of the wire lead-out port 22 of the shield shell 24. Specifically, a pair of locking piece receiving portions 136, 136 are provided on the upper and lower sides of the upper wall portion 116 and the lower wall portion 118 constituting the wire lead-out port 22 (the cylindrical end portion 128) in the left-right middle portion that extends substantially flat, and the pair of locking piece receiving portions 136, 136 are provided on the outer side in the up-down direction and the rear opening that become the outer peripheral side, and the pair of locking piece receiving portions 136, 136 are separated from each other in the left-right direction. Furthermore, the above-mentioned second engaged portions 134 penetrate the rear end surface of the bottom of each locking piece receiving portion 136 in the up-down direction that become the plate thickness direction, and in short, are provided on the bottom surface of each locking piece receiving portion 136. In addition, a locking protrusion 138 protruding outward in the vertical direction is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the wire lead-out port 22. In the first embodiment, a locking protrusion 138 protruding outward in the vertical direction is provided on the bottom surface of each locking piece storage portion 136, in front of each second engaged portion 134.
[0080] In addition, if Figure 6 As shown, a through hole 140 is formed in the front portion of the upper wall portion 116 of the shielding shell 24, which penetrates the upper wall portion 116 in the thickness direction (up and down direction). Through the through hole 140, the cylindrical connection portion 26 of each terminal 12 arranged inside the shielding shell 24 is exposed to the external space. In addition, a cylindrical portion 142 protruding upward is provided at the peripheral portion of the through hole 140 provided in the upper wall portion 116. The cylindrical portion 142 is a generally oblong shape whose dimension in the left-right direction is larger than its dimension in the front-back direction, and a front retaining body 144 is assembled to the cylindrical portion 142. As shown in FIG. Figure 2 As shown, a substantially circular through hole 146 is formed in the up-down direction at a position corresponding to the cylindrical connecting portion 26 of each terminal 12 in the front retaining body 144, and when the connector 10 is connected to the other side connector, the pin-shaped other side terminal is inserted into the cylindrical connecting portion 26 of each terminal 12 through the through hole 146. In addition, the cylindrical portion 142 and the front retaining body 144 can be fixed to each other by, for example, a locking mechanism not shown in the figure.
[0081] In addition, a bolt insertion hole 150 is formed in the vertical direction at the rear of the cylindrical portion 142 in the left-right central portion of the shield case 24, and a fastening bolt 148 is inserted through the bolt insertion hole 150. The fastening bolt 148 is fastened to, for example, a housing of a counterpart device provided with a counterpart terminal (not shown), and the counterpart terminal can be pressed into the cylindrical connecting portion 26 of each terminal 12 by the fastening force of the fastening bolt 148. In addition, the fastening bolt 148 inserted into the bolt insertion hole 150 can be prevented from falling out of the bolt insertion hole 150 by a fixing member 152 such as a C-shaped ring.
[0082] Furthermore, inside the shield shell 24, an annular waterproof rubber 154 is externally inserted and mounted on each of the electric wires 16 led out to the rear from the rear opening 40 of each connector housing 14. Each waterproof rubber 154 is inserted into the shield shell 24 from the rear opening (electric wire lead-out port 22) of the shield shell 24 and is located behind each connector housing 14. Furthermore, as described above, the mounting cylinder 74 of the rear retaining body 18 is embedded in the rear opening (electric wire lead-out port 22) of the shield shell 24 to prevent each waterproof rubber 154 from falling off.
[0083] <Assembly of Connector 10> Hereinafter, a specific example of a method for assembling the connector 10 will be described. In addition, the method for assembling the connector 10 is not limited to the form described below.
[0084] First, the core wire 34 exposed by stripping the insulating coating 36 at the terminal of each electric wire 16 is fixed to the electric wire fixing portion 32 of each terminal body 28, and each clamp spring 30 is installed at the front end of each terminal body 28. Thus, each terminal 12 is connected to the terminal of each electric wire 16. Then, each waterproof rubber 154 is externally installed on each electric wire 16.
[0085] Next, each electric wire 16 assembled with each terminal 12 and each waterproof rubber 154 is inserted from the rear opening 40 of each connector housing 14. After each terminal 12 is inserted to a predetermined position, each connector housing 14 assembled with each terminal 12 is inserted from the rear opening (electric wire lead-out port 22) of the shield shell 24, and each connector housing 14 and the shield shell 24 are fixed, for example, by concave-convex fitting. In addition, the front retaining body 144 is assembled to the cylindrical portion 142 of the shield shell 24 from above. Thus, each electric wire 16 is led out to the outside (rear) from each electric wire lead-out port 22 of the shield shell 24. In addition, the fastening bolt 148 is inserted into the bolt insertion hole 150 at an appropriate time.
[0086] Then, if Figure 6As shown, in the portion of each electric wire 16 that is led out from the electric wire lead-out port 22 of the shielding case 24 to the rear, the upper and lower split retaining bodies 42a and 42b are opposed to each other in the vertical direction so as to sandwich each electric wire 16 from above and below. Then, the upper and lower split retaining bodies 42a and 42b are brought close to each other in the vertical direction, and each locking claw portion 68 and each locking frame body 70, and each elastic locking frame body 94 and each locking claw portion 96 are engaged. Thus, in each electric wire 16, the rear retaining body 18 is attached at a position separated from the shielding case 24 to the rear.
[0087] Next, the rear retaining body 18 attached to each electric wire 16 is moved forward toward the shielding case 24. As a result, each elastic locking piece 78 protruding forward in the rear retaining body 18 is inserted into each locking piece receiving portion 136 opened to the rear at the electric wire lead-out port 22 of the shielding case 24, and each elastic locking piece 78 is received in each locking piece receiving portion 136. And, with the elastic deformation of each elastic locking piece 78, each elastic locking piece 78 passes over each locking protrusion 138 provided on the bottom surface of each locking piece receiving portion 136, so that each locking protrusion 138 is embedded in each fitting hole 80 of each elastic locking piece 78 and engaged therewith.
[0088] In addition, each of the first engaging portions 104 and each of the second engaging portions 108 are inserted into each of the first engaged portions 132 and each of the second engaged portions 134, both of which are opened rearward at the wire lead-out port 22 of the shielding shell 24. As a result, each of the crushing ribs 102 of each of the first engaging portions 104 and each of the crushing ribs 106 of each of the second engaging portions 108 are compressed and deformed in a manner of being crushed by each of the first engaged portions 132 and each of the second engaged portions 134, so that each of the first engaging portions 104 and each of the second engaging portions 108 are pressed against each of the first engaged portions 132 and each of the second engaged portions 134. As a result, the rear retaining body 18 is fitted into the wire lead-out port 22 of the shielding shell 24. In this state, the wire pressing protrusion 48 (see FIG. 1 ) is arranged between the wires 16, 16 protruding from the wire insertion barrels 20, 20 of the rear holding body 18 and extending in the lead-out direction (rearward). Figure 2 ).
[0089] Then, the first binding band 65 is laid between the first band mounting portions 58 above and below the wire pressing protrusion 48 disposed between the wires 16, 16, and the wire pressing protrusion 48 of the rear retaining body 18 and the wires 16 are fixed by the first binding band 65. In addition, the second binding band 87 is laid between the second band mounting portions 82 above and below the elastic locking pieces 78, and the rear retaining body 18 and the shielding shell 24 are fixed by the second binding band 87. Thus, the connector 10 is completed.
[0090] According to the connector 10 of the first embodiment having the above-described structure, the electric wires 16 protruding from the electric wire insertion barrels 20 and extending in the lead-out direction (rearward) are bound and fixed to each other in a state of being in close contact with the electric wire contact surfaces 56 of the electric wire pressing projections 48 by the first binding bands 65 provided between the first band mounting portions 58. Thus, the electric wires 16 and the rear retaining body 18 are fixed by the first binding bands 65, so that the external force input to the electric wires 16 due to vibration or the like can be prevented from being transmitted to the terminals 12. In addition, the first binding bands 65 contact the first band mounting portions 58 from both sides in the upper and lower directions, and press the split projections 46 of the upper and lower split retaining bodies 42a and 42b from both sides in the upper and lower directions. Thus, the displacement of the upper and lower split retaining bodies 42a and 42b in the direction of opening (separating) from each other can be suppressed, and the state in which the electric wires 16 are clamped by the split barrels 50 constituting the electric wire insertion barrels 20 can be stably maintained. As a result, the first binding band 65 not only fixes the electric wires 16 but also suppresses the occurrence of gaps between the electric wire insertion barrels 20 and the electric wires 16 , thereby more reliably achieving the effect of cutting off the external force.
[0091] The pair of wire contact surfaces 56, 56 of the wire pressing protrusion 48 are formed of curved surfaces that bulge inward in the opposing direction (left-right direction). Thus, each wire contact surface 56 can be formed into a shape that roughly corresponds to the outer peripheral surface of each wire 16, and a wide contact area between each wire contact surface 56 and the outer peripheral surface of each wire 16 can be ensured (see Figure 5 As a result, the first binding band 65 can stably hold the wires 16 on both sides of the wire pressing projection 48, and the external force cutting effect can be improved. In addition, compared with the case where the contact surface of each wire is a flat surface, for example, the resistance when the split projection 46 is inserted between the wires 16 can be reduced, and the assembly performance when the upper and lower split holding bodies 42a and 42b are assembled to the wires 16 can be improved.
[0092] The first engaging portion 104 having the crushing ribs 102 and the second engaging portion 108 having the crushing ribs 106 in the rear retaining body 18 are fitted into a plurality of engaged portions 130 (the first engaged portion 132 and the second engaged portion 134) in the wire lead-out port 22 of the shielding shell 24. In particular, since the crushing ribs 102 and 106 are deformed in a crushed manner relative to the first engaged portions 132 or the second engaged portions 134, the first engaging portions 104 or the second engaging portions 108 are pressed against the first engaged portions 132 and the second engaged portions 134, respectively, the shaking of the shielding shell 24 and the rear retaining body 18 can be prevented. Thus, even if external forces such as vibration input from the outside affect the wires 16, for example, causing the wires 16 to vibrate in the up-down direction or the left-right direction, the rear retaining body 18 can be prevented from shifting relative to the shielding shell 24 and causing the external forces to affect the terminals 12 connected to the wires 16.
[0093] Each of the split retaining bodies 42a and 42b has a pair of second belt mounting portions 82 disposed on both sides in the up-down direction, and the upper and lower split retaining bodies 42a and 42b are pressed against each other from both sides in the up-down direction by the second binding band 87 spanned between the second belt mounting portions 82, and the rear retaining body 18 is bound and fixed to the wire lead-out port 22 of the shielding shell 24. As a result, the rear retaining body 18 and the shielding shell 24 can be prevented from shaking by the second binding band 87, and the wires 16 can be fixed to the shielding shell 24 via the rear retaining body 18. In particular, in the first embodiment, the second binding band 87 is provided so as to cover the engaging portions of the first engaging portions 104 and the first engaged portions 132, and the engaging portions of the second engaging portions 108 and the second engaged portions 134, which are the fitting positions of the rear retaining body 18 and the shielding shell 24, from the outer peripheral side. This can suppress the rattling of the rear holding body 18 and the shield shell 24, and prevent these fittings from being accidentally released.
[0094] Each first engaging portion 104 and each first engaged portion 132 are provided on both sides in the left-right direction, and each second engaging portion 108 and each second engaged portion 134 are provided on both sides in the up-down direction. Thus, in the circumferential direction of the wire lead-out port 22, each first engaging portion 104 and each first engaged portion 132 and each second engaging portion 108 and each second engaged portion 134 can be symmetrically arranged in the left-right direction and the up-down direction, and displacement of the rear retaining body 18 relative to the shielding shell 24 can be further suppressed.
[0095] The insulating coating 36 of each wire 16 is pressed radially inward by each wire pressing protrusion 66 of the rear retaining body 18, so that each wire 16 is inserted and retained in the wire insertion barrel 20 in a crimped state. As a result, the displacement amount of each wire 16 relative to the rear retaining body 18 can be suppressed to be small. In particular, in the first embodiment, the plurality of wire pressing protrusions 66 that are separately arranged in the circumferential direction in each wire insertion barrel 20 are also separately arranged in the axial direction, and the displacement amount of each wire 16 in the rotational direction (twist) can also be effectively suppressed.
[0096] The rear retaining body 18 has elastic locking pieces 78, and the shielding shell 24 has locking protrusions 138. The locking protrusions 138 are inserted into the elastic locking pieces 78, so that the rear retaining body 18 is engaged with the wire lead-out port 22 of the shielding shell 24. Thus, the rear retaining body 18 can be assembled with respect to the shielding shell 24 with a simple structure of the elastic locking pieces 78 and the locking protrusions 138. In addition, since the shielding shell 24 is provided with the locking piece receiving portions 136 that are opened on the outer peripheral surface and receive the elastic locking pieces 78, the protrusion amount of the elastic locking pieces 78 from the locking piece receiving portions 136 can be reduced or reduced to zero. Thus, the size of the rear retaining body 18 and the shielding shell 24, and further, the size of the connector 10 can be reduced. In addition, the possibility that the engagement between the elastic locking pieces 78 and the locking protrusions 138 is accidentally released and the rear retaining body 18 falls off from the shielding shell 24 can be reduced. In particular, in the first embodiment, each second band mounting portion 82 is provided on each elastic locking piece 78. Therefore, by mounting the second binding band 87 after engaging each elastic locking piece 78 with each locking protrusion 138, it is possible to further prevent each elastic locking piece 78 from accidentally shifting in a direction in which the engagement with each locking protrusion 138 is released.
[0097] Each second engaged portion 134 is provided at the bottom of each locking piece receiving portion 136 that receives each elastic locking piece 78, and each second engaging portion 108 that is pressed into each second engaged portion 134 is provided at the base end side (rear side) of each elastic locking piece 78. That is, each locking piece receiving portion 136 and each second engaged portion 134 are provided continuously in the upper wall portion 116 and the lower wall portion 118 of the shielding shell 24 in the up-down direction, and compared with the case where each locking piece receiving portion and each second engaged portion are provided at different positions in the circumferential direction of the wire lead-out port, for example, it is possible to avoid enlarging the shielding shell 24. Similarly, each elastic locking piece 78 and each second engaging portion 108 can be provided at the same position in the circumferential direction of the mounting cylinder portion 74 of the rear retaining body 18, and it is also possible to avoid enlarging the rear retaining body 18.
[0098] When the rear retaining body 18 is fitted with the shield shell 24, the first engaging portions 104 are housed in the first engaged portions 132 without protruding toward the outer peripheral side of the wire lead-out port 22. This prevents the first engaging portions 104 from accidentally falling off from the first engaged portions 132 due to contact with other components or an operator.
[0099] <Modification> As above, as a specific example of the present invention, the embodiment is described in detail, but the present invention is not limited to this specific description. Deformation, improvement, etc. within the scope of the purpose of the present invention are also included in the present invention. For example, the following modified examples of the embodiment are also included in the technical scope of the present invention.
[0100] (1) The shape of the terminal 12 in the above embodiment is merely an example and is not intended to be limiting. That is, in the above embodiment, the terminal 12 has a cylindrical connecting portion 26 for inserting a pin-shaped counterpart terminal, but is not limited to this form. That is, in the connector of the present invention, a locking piece receiving portion may not be provided. For example, the locking protrusion may protrude from the outer peripheral surface of the wire lead-out port of the shielding shell toward the outer peripheral side. In this case, each elastic locking piece is arranged to overlap with the outer peripheral surface of the wire lead-out port of the shielding shell.
[0103] (4) In the above embodiment, each elastic locking piece 78 is provided on the outer peripheral side (outer side in the vertical direction) of each second engaging portion 108, but each elastic locking piece may be provided on the outer peripheral side of the first engaging portion instead of the second engaging portion or on the basis of the second engaging portion. That is, in the above embodiment, each elastic locking piece 78 is provided on both sides of the rear retaining body 18 in the vertical direction, but an elastic locking piece may be provided on one side or both sides in the left-right direction of the rear retaining body and engaged with a locking protrusion provided on one side or both sides in the left-right direction of the shielding shell. In addition, in the connector of the present invention, the elastic locking piece is not essential.
[0104] (5) In the above embodiment, the rear retaining body 18 is composed of a pair of split retaining bodies 42a and 42b having the same shape as each other, but the pair of split retaining bodies may be of different shapes. In addition, the pair of split retaining bodies may be formed as one body. For example, a hinge may be provided at one end of each split retaining body in the circumferential direction so that each split retaining body can be opened and closed, and after each wire is clamped, each split retaining body is fixed to each other by a locking mechanism provided at the other end of each split retaining body in the circumferential direction.
[0105] (6) In the above embodiment, the outer peripheral surface of each wire 16 is in close contact with the substantially entire surface of each wire contact surface 56 on the left and right sides of the wire pressing protrusion 48, but it is sufficient that at least a portion of the outer peripheral surface of each wire and each wire contact surface are in close contact. In addition, in the above embodiment, each wire contact surface 56 is composed of a curved surface that bulges inward in the opposing direction (left and right direction), but, for example, it may be a vertical surface that expands in the up-down direction, or each wire contact surface that expands in the up-down direction may be used to press the left-right inner part of the insulating coating of each wire to deform it.
[0106] (7) In the above embodiment, the second binding band 87 is provided in addition to the first binding band 65, but the second binding band may not be provided in the connector of the present invention. In addition, the shape of the first band mounting portion or the second band mounting portion to which the first binding band or the second binding band is mounted is not limited, and may be a cylindrical shape or a frame shape in addition to the groove shape as in the above embodiment.
[0107] (8) The rear retainer only needs to be assembled to the connector housing side, and can be assembled to the connector housing directly or indirectly via other components assembled to the connector housing such as a shield shell. That is, in the connector of the present invention, the shield shell is not essential. Description of Reference Numerals
