Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a core wire position detection device for detecting the mutual positional relationship between a plurality of core wires during terminal processing of a shielded electric wire, and a terminal processing method of the shielded electric wire performed by the device. Background Art
[0002] Among various types of shielded electric wires, there is a shielded electric wire used for high-speed communication in which a plurality of (eg, two) core wires (signal wires) are twisted spirally and arranged in a shielding material (mainly a braid) covered with a sheath made of an insulating resin.
[0003] This type of shielded wire has two twisted core wires, so the positions of the two core wires in the wire cross section (e.g., the angle of arrangement relative to the horizontal line) are different depending on the position in the wire length direction. Each twist pitch of the two core wires reaches the same arrangement position, and the conditions of this twisting are predetermined in the specifications of each type of wire.
[0004] Shielded connectors are used to connect shielded electric wires. As examples of shielded connectors attached to terminals of this type of shielded electric wires, Figure 3 The shielded connector shown is known (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
[0005] The shielded connector 200 includes an external housing 201 made of resin, an external terminal (shielding shell) 202 made of metal and inserted into the external housing 201, an internal housing 203 made of resin and disposed in a tubular housing accommodating portion 202a of the external terminal 202, and an internal terminal (inner terminal) 205 made of metal and attached to a terminal accommodating hole 203a of the internal housing 203. An impedance adjusting member 204 may also be arranged between the internal housing 203 and the internal terminal 205 as required.
[0006] For example, the terminal processing of attaching the shielded connector 200 to the shielded electric wire 10 is performed as follows. Here, in the shielded electric wire 10, a braid (shielding material) 12 is provided inside a sheath 11 made of resin at the outermost periphery, and two core wires 15, 15 are twisted together and provided inside the braid 12. A shield foil (aluminum foil or copper foil) is also provided between the core wires 15, 15 and the braid 12.
[0007] In the terminal processing, first, the sheath 11 of the terminal of the shielded electric wire 10 is stripped of a predetermined length. By stripping the sheath 11 of the terminal of the shielded electric wire 10, the braid 12 surrounding the two core wires 15 is exposed. Next, the metal tubular sleeve 13 is installed and fixed to the outer periphery of the base end of the braid 12 by crimping. This state is as shown in FIG. Figure 3 As shown in (a) in .
[0008] Next, the terminal portion of the braid 12 is cut (trimmed) to a predetermined size, the braid 12 is folded back toward the wire base end side at the end edge of the sleeve 13, and the folded back portion 12a of the braid 12 is covered so as to overlap with the outer periphery of the sleeve 13. This state is as shown in FIG. Figure 3 As shown in (b) in .
[0009] By trimming and folding back the braid 12 in this way, the two core wires 15, 15 are exposed. Here, when the shielding foil is provided to cover the outer periphery of the core wires 15, 15, the shielding foil is cut at the end portion of the folded back portion 12a of the braid 12 to expose the two core wires 15, 15.
[0010] At this stage, since the core wires 15, 15 are still twisted, at least their terminal portions are untwisted to extend the two core wires 15, 15 in a straight line, and then the insulating sheaths 15b, 15b at the front ends of the core wires 15, 15 are stripped off to expose the core wire conductors 15a, 15a, and the internal terminals 20, 20 are respectively connected to the core wire conductors 15a, 15a by crimping.
[0011] Thereafter, the internal terminals 20, 20 are accommodated in the terminal accommodation holes 203a, 203a of the internal housing 203, and the internal housing 203 is accommodated in the tubular housing accommodation portion 202a of the external terminal 202. The braid crimping piece 202b of the external terminal 202 is crimped to the folded back portion 12a of the braid 12 and the sleeve 13, and the sheath crimping piece 203c of the external terminal 202 is fixed to the sheath 11 by crimping. Thus, the internal module 200A is completed, and the internal module 200A is inserted into the external housing 201, thereby completing the attachment of the shielded connector 200 to the terminal of the shielded electric wire 10.

[0015] Technical issues
[0016] In the shield connector 200 for high-speed communication having such a configuration, it is required to eliminate the influence of external noise on the core wires 15, 15 as much as possible. For this purpose, it is necessary to strictly manage the length of the two core wires 15, 15 exposed from the braid (shielding material) 12.
[0017] Figure 4 and 5 The relationship among the braid (shielding material) 12 , the two core wires 15 and 15 , and the inner terminal 20 is schematically shown. Figure 4The arrangement of the two core wires 15, 15 at the position A (the position indicated by Δ in the figure) of the end portion 12e of the braid 12 and the arrangement of the two core wires 15, 15 at the position of the connection portion with the internal terminal 20 are different (deviation) in the circumferential direction of the wire. The upper figure is a side view, and the lower figure is a top view. Figure 5 The arrangement of the two core wires 15, 15 at the position A (the position indicated by Δ in the figure) of the end portion 12e of the braid 12 and the arrangement of the two core wires 15, 15 at the position of the connection portion with the internal terminal 20 are consistent with each other in the circumferential direction of the wire (the core wires 15, 15 are aligned). The upper figure is a side view, and the lower figure is a top view.
[0018] like Figure 4 and Figure 5 As shown, the distance L from the end portion 12e of the braid 12 to the internal terminal 20 is set to be constant. In order to improve the transmission performance, it is important to minimize the actual length (wire length) of the core wires 15, 15. Therefore, it is desirable to extend the exposed core wires 15, 15 as straight as possible to minimize the wire length.
[0019] like Figure 4 As shown, the arrangement of the two core wires 15, 15 that are not twisted and extend in a straight line may be different at the position of the end portion 12e of the braid 12 and the position of the connection portion with the internal terminal 20. In this case, the core wire 15 is not completely untwisted and is no longer straight, resulting in an excessive length of the exposed core wire 15.
[0020] In addition, when the braid crimping piece 202b of the external terminal 202 is crimped to the braid 12, the external force N generated by the crimping is applied to the two core wires 15, 15, so the alignment position of the two core wires 15, 15 may change, which may cause the two core wires 15, 15 to be misaligned in the length direction. When the two core wires 15, 15 have an excessively long length or are misaligned in the longitudinal direction, the transmission performance may be reduced accordingly.
[0021] Therefore, if Figure 5 As shown, it is desirable that the arrangement of the two core wires 15 , 15 that are not twisted and extend linearly at the position of the end portion 12 e of the braid 12 and the position of the connection portion with the internal terminal 20 matches (no twist).
[0022] However, in reality, as described above, since the arrangement of the internal core wires 15, 15 when hidden by the sheath 11 or the braid (shielding material) 12 cannot be known from the outside, depending on the manner in which the terminal processing process is performed, the arrangement of the core wires 15, 15 exposed from the braid (shielding material) 12 cannot be aligned at both ends (the position of the end portion 12e of the braid 12 and the position of the connection portion with the internal terminal 20).
[0023] The above problems are not limited to the use of Figure 3 In the case of the sleeve 13 shown, the above problem also occurs when the sleeve 13 is not used and the folded portion 12a of the braid 12 is directly covered by the end portion of the sheath 11 and the braid crimping piece 202b of the external terminal 202 is crimped to this portion.
[0024] The present invention has been proposed in view of the above situation. An object of the present invention is to provide a core wire position detection device for terminal processing of shielded electric wires, which device can align the arrangement of the core wire exposed from the shielding material at the base end and the front end, and help to improve the transmission characteristics of the terminal processing unit. An object of the present invention is also to provide a terminal processing method for shielded electric wires using the core wire position detection device.
[0025] Solution to the problem
[0026] In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, a core wire position detection device according to the present invention has the following features.
[0027] A core wire position detection device for detecting the mutual positional relationship of a plurality of core wires inside a shielding material in a cross section of a shielded wire during terminal processing of the shielded wire, the shielding material being covered with a sheath made of an insulating resin, in which the plurality of core wires are twisted and arranged inside the shielding material, the core wire position detection device comprising:
[0028] an imaging unit configured to capture an image of an end surface of a leading end portion of the shield electric wire;
[0029] a determination unit configured to determine an arrangement of the plurality of core wires in a cross section of the electric wire at a position of the end surface based on the image of the end surface captured by the imaging unit; and
[0030] A calculation unit is configured to calculate the arrangement of the multiple core wires in the cross-section of the wire at a position of a predetermined length away from the end surface toward the base end side based on the arrangement of the multiple core wires in the cross-section of the wire at the end surface position and the twisting data of the multiple core wires of the shielded wire predetermined according to the specifications.
[0031] Advantageous Effects of the Invention
[0032] According to the present invention, even when the core wire is hidden by a sheath or a shielding material, the arrangement of the core wire inside the shielding material can be detected predictably. For this reason, at a stage before the shielding material is removed to extend the core wire in a straight line, the arrangement of the core wire exposed from the shielding material can be aligned at the base end and the front end. For this reason, after the internal terminal and the external terminal are attached, the linearity and dimensional accuracy of the core wire exposed from the shielding material can be improved. Therefore, it can contribute to improving the transmission characteristics of the terminal processing unit.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0039] Specific embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0040] Figure 1 1 is a process explanatory diagram of a terminal processing method using a core wire position detecting device according to a first embodiment of the present invention.
[0041] like Figure 1As shown, in the shielded electric wire 10 used here, a braid (shielding material) 12 is provided inside a sheath 11 made of resin at the outermost periphery, and two core wires 15 and 15 are spirally twisted together and provided inside the braid 12. If necessary, a shielding foil (aluminum foil or copper foil) is provided between the core wires 15 and 15 and the braid 12.
[0042] The terminal processing method according to the first embodiment uses a tubular sleeve 13 (see FIG. 1 ) for extruding the braid 12. Figure 2 ) example.
[0043] The core wire position detection device used here detects the relative position relationship of the two core wires 15 and 15 hidden inside the sheath 11 and the shielding material 12 covered by the sheath 11 made of insulating resin in the cross section of the wire during the terminal processing of the shielded wire 10, in which the two core wires 15 and 15 are spirally twisted and arranged inside the braid (shielding material 12).
[0044] As its structure, Figure 1 As shown in (a) of FIG. 1 , the core wire position detection device includes: a camera (imaging unit) 100 that captures an image of the end surface of the front end portion of the shielded electric wire 10; a determination unit for determining the arrangement (mutual positional relationship) of the two core wires 15 and 15 in the wire cross section A2 at the end surface position based on the image of the end surface captured by the camera 100; and a calculation unit for calculating the arrangement of the two core wires 15 and 15 in the wire cross section A1 at a position A that is a predetermined length away from the end surface A2 toward the base end side, based on the arrangement of the two core wires 15 and 15 in the wire cross section A2 at the end surface position and the twisting data of the two core wires 15 and 15 of the shielded electric wire 10 predetermined by the specification. The determination unit for determining the arrangement of the two core wires 15 and 15 in the wire cross section A2 at the end surface position and the calculation unit for calculating the arrangement of the two core wires 15 and 15 in the wire cross section A1 at the position A are not specifically shown, but are configured by, for example, a computer or the like.
[0045] In the terminal processing method according to the first embodiment, first, as Figure 1 As shown in (a), the core wire position detection device calculates the arrangement of the two core wires 15 and 15 in the wire cross section A1 at the position A. In this case, the position A is indicated by the mark "Δ" in the figure, and is the position of the end of the folded back braid 12, as shown in FIG. Figure 1 That is, the position A corresponds to the position of the base ends of the core wires 15 and 15 exposed from the end of the braid 12.
[0046] After calculating the arrangement of the two core wires 15 and 15 in the wire cross section A1 at the position A, as shown in FIG. Figure 1 As shown in (b), the position A of the shielded electric wire 10 is moved to the processing reference position (the operation of the arrow X1), and the shielded electric wire 10 is rotated around its axis so that the arrangement of the two core wires 15 and 15 in the wire cross section A1 at the position A becomes a predetermined reference angle position (the operation of the arrow X2). Here, the position where the two core wires 15 and 15 are arranged side by side in the horizontal direction (the angular position in the rotation direction of the shielded electric wire 10) is set as the reference angle position. By rotating the shielded electric wire 10 in this way, the arrangement of the two core wires 15 and 15 in the wire cross section A2 at the end surface position of the shielded electric wire 10 deviates from the reference angle position (the position where the two core wires are arranged side by side) due to twisting.
[0047] Next, if Figure 1 As shown in (c), while the rotating shielded wire 10 is maintained at the reference angle position, the sheath 11 on the front end side is peeled off from position A (operation of arrow X3). By peeling off the sheath 11, the braid 12 inside is exposed. At this time, the two core wires 15 and 15 are hidden inside the braid 12. Next, the braid exposed by peeling off the sheath 11 is trimmed to a predetermined length. For example, the braid is cut into a predetermined length, such as Figure 1 As shown by the dotted line in (c). The trimmed braid 12 is folded back to the base end side of the wire at the position of the end edge of the remaining sheath 11, and the outer periphery of the end of the remaining sheath 11 is covered by the folded back portion 12a. At this stage, the two twisted core wires 15 and 15 are exposed.
[0048] Next, if Figure 1 As shown in (d), the two core wires 15 and 15 exposed by trimming and folding back the braid 12 are untwisted, and the two core wires 15 and 15 extend straight at the reference angle position. When the two core wires 15 and 15 are untwisted in this way, the arrangement of the two core wires is aligned from the base end to the front end exposed from the braid 12. This is because the arrangement of the core wires 15 and 15 in the wire cross section A1 at the position A is pre-detected based on the twist data, and Figure 1 In the processing step (b), the shielded electric wire is rotated and adjusted so that the arrangement of the core wires 15 and 15 at the position A becomes the reference angle position.
[0049] Then, if Figure 1As shown in (e) and (g), the insulating sheaths 15b and 15b at the front ends of the two core wires 15 and 15 extending linearly at the reference angle position are removed, and the internal terminals 20 are fixed to the exposed core wire conductors 15a and 15a, respectively. That is, the conductor crimping piece 20b extending backward from the contact conductive portion 20a of the internal terminal 20 is crimped to the core wire conductor 15a, and the sheath crimping piece 20c located behind the conductor crimping piece 20b of the internal terminal 20 is crimped to the insulating sheath 15b of the core wire 15.
[0050] After fixing the internal terminal 20, the braid crimping piece (shielding material crimping piece) 202b of the external terminal 202 (see Figure 3 ) is crimped and fixed to the folded back portion 12a of the braid 12, which is folded back to cover Figure 1 The end of the sheath 11 shown in (f) is then removed by referring to the above Figure 3 By completing the assembly process in the described order, the terminal of the shielded electric wire 10 to which the shielded connector is fixed can be obtained.
[0051] As described above, according to the first embodiment, before processing the sheath 11 and the braid (shielding material) 12, the arrangement of the two core wires 15 and 15 hidden inside the sheath 11 and the braid 12 and not visually recognizable from the outside can be predicted and detected. Therefore, after the braid 12 is processed, the arrangement of the two core wires 15 and 15 exposed from the braid 12 can be aligned from the base end to the front end of the exposed portion, and the core wires 15 and 15 of the exposed portion can extend in a straight line from the base end to the front end. As a result, the excess length of the core wires 15 and 15 of the exposed portion can be reduced, the front ends of the two exposed core wires 15 and 15 can be processed in a state where the core wire lengths are aligned, and the transmission characteristics of the shielded connector can be improved.
[0052] Next, a terminal processing method according to a second embodiment of the present invention will be described.
[0053] Figure 2 It is a process explanatory diagram of the terminal processing method according to the second embodiment.
[0054] The shielded electric wire 10 to be used is the same as that of the first embodiment. The core wire position detecting device to be used is also the same as that of the first embodiment.
[0055] The terminal processing method according to the second embodiment is an example using the tubular sleeve 13 for extruding the braid 12 .
[0056] In the terminal processing method according to the second embodiment, first, as Figure 2As shown in (a), the core wire position detection device calculates the arrangement of the two core wires 15 and 15 in the wire cross section A1 at the position A. In this case, the position A is indicated by the mark "Δ" in the figure, and is the position of the end of the folded back braid 12, as shown in FIG. Figure 2 In this example, because the sleeve 13 is used, the position A is the position of the end edge of the sleeve 13 on the front end side of the wire, as described later. That is, the position A corresponds to the position of the base ends of the core wires 15 and 15 exposed from the end of the braid 12.
[0057] After calculating the arrangement of the two core wires 15 and 15 in the wire cross section A1 at the position A, as shown in FIG. Figure 2 As shown in (b), the position A of the shielded electric wire 10 is moved to the processing reference position (the operation of the arrow X1), and the shielded electric wire 10 is rotated around its axis so that the arrangement of the two core wires 15 and 15 in the wire cross section A1 at the position A becomes a predetermined reference angle position (the operation of the arrow X2). Here, the position where the two core wires 15 and 15 are arranged side by side in the horizontal direction (the angular position in the rotation direction of the shielded electric wire 10) is set as the reference angle position. By rotating the shielded electric wire 10 in this way, the arrangement of the two core wires 15 and 15 in the wire cross section A2 at the end surface position of the shielded electric wire 10 deviates from the reference angle position (the position where the two core wires 15 and 15 are arranged side by side) due to twisting.
[0058] Next, if Figure 2 As shown in (c), while the rotating shielded electric wire 10 is maintained at the reference angle position, the sheath 11 on the front end side is peeled off (operation of arrow X3) from the position A to the base end side at the length in the axial direction of the sleeve 13, which is fitted on the outer periphery of the braid 12. By peeling off the sheath 11, the braid 12 on the inside is exposed. At this time, the two core wires 15 and 15 are hidden inside the braid 12.
[0059] Next, if Figure 2 As shown in (d) of FIG. 1 , the tubular sleeve 13 is fitted and fixed to the outer periphery of the braid 12 exposed by peeling off the sheath 11 while being positioned on the base end side of the exposed braid 12 .
[0060] Next, if Figure 2 As shown in (e), the braid 12 exposed by stripping the sheath 11 is trimmed to a predetermined length, and the trimmed braid 12 is folded back to the base end side of the wire at the position of the end of the sleeve 13 on the front end side of the wire, and the outer periphery of the sleeve 13 is covered with the folded back portion 12a. At this stage, the two twisted core wires 15 and 15 are exposed.
[0061] Next, if Figure 2 As shown in (f), the two core wires 15 and 15 exposed by trimming and folding back the braid 12 are untwisted, and the two core wires 15 and 15 extend straight at the reference angle position. When the two core wires 15 and 15 are untwisted in this way, the arrangement of the two core wires 15 and 15 is aligned from the base end to the front end exposed by the braid 12. This is because the arrangement of the core wires 15 and 15 in the wire cross section A1 at the position A is pre-detected based on the twist data, and Figure 2 In the processing step (b), the shielded electric wire is rotated and adjusted so that the arrangement of the core wires 15 and 15 at the position A becomes the reference angle position.
[0062] Then, if Figure 2 As shown in (g) and (h), the insulating sheaths 15b and 15b at the front ends of the two core wires 15 and 15 extending linearly at the reference angle position are removed, and the internal terminals 20 are fixed to the exposed core wire conductors 15a and 15a, respectively.
[0063] After fixing the internal terminal 20, the braid crimping piece (shielding material crimping piece) 202b of the external terminal 202 (see Figure 3 ) is crimped and fixed to the folded back portion 12a of the braid 12, which is folded back to cover Figure 2 Thereafter, by referring to the above Figure 3 By completing the assembly process in the described order, the terminal of the shielded electric wire 10 to which the shielded connector is fixed can be obtained.
[0064] As described above, according to the second embodiment, before processing the sheath 11 and the braid (shielding material) 12, the arrangement of the two core wires 15 and 15 hidden inside the sheath 11 and the braid 12 and not visually recognizable from the outside can be predicted and detected. As a result, the excess length of the core wires 15 and 15 of the exposed portion can be reduced, the front ends of the two exposed core wires 15 and 15 can be processed in a state where the lengths of the core wires are aligned, and the transmission characteristics of the shielded connector can be improved.
[0065] The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and can be appropriately modified, improved, etc. In addition, the materials, shapes, sizes, numbers, arrangement positions, etc. of the components in the above-described embodiments are freely selected and are not limited as long as the present invention can be achieved.
[0066] For example, the number of core wires 15 is not limited to two.
[0067] In the above-described embodiment, the braid is exemplified as the shielding material, but the present invention can also be applied to a shielded electric wire using a shielding material other than the braid (for example, a shielding foil).
[0068] Here, the core wire position detection device and the terminal processing method according to the above-mentioned embodiments of the present invention are briefly summarized and listed in the following [1] to [3].
[0069] [1] A core wire position detection device for detecting the relative positional relationship of a plurality of core wires (15) inside a shielding material (12) covered by a sheath (11) made of insulating resin in a cross section (A1) of a shielded wire (10) during terminal processing of the shielded wire (10), wherein the plurality of core wires (15) are twisted and arranged inside the shielding material (12), the core wire position detection device comprising:
[0070] an imaging unit (100) configured to capture an image of an end surface of a front end portion of the shielded electric wire (10);
[0071] a determining unit configured to determine the arrangement of the plurality of core wires (15) in the wire cross section (A2) at the position of the end surface based on the image of the end surface captured by the imaging unit (100); and
[0072] A calculation unit is configured to calculate the arrangement of the multiple core wires (15) in the wire cross section (A1) at a predetermined position (A) away from the end surface by a predetermined length toward the base end side based on the arrangement of the multiple core wires (15) in the wire cross section (A1) at the end surface position and the twisting data of the multiple core wires of the shielded wire (10) predetermined by the specification.
[0073] According to the core wire position detection device having the above-mentioned configuration [1], the arrangement of the core wire hidden inside the shielding material and not visually recognizable from the outside before the shielding material is processed can be predicted and detected. Therefore, the arrangement of the core wire exposed from the shielding material after the shielding material is processed can be aligned from the base end to the front end of the exposed portion, and the core wire of the exposed portion can extend in a straight line from the base end to the front end. As a result, the excess length of the core wire of the exposed portion can be reduced, the front end of the exposed core wire can be processed in a state where the length of the core wire is aligned, and the transmission characteristics of the shielded connector can be improved.
