[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0002] This application claims priority to and the benefit of Korean Patent Application No. 10-2023-0140279, filed on October 19, 2023, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety. Technical Field
[0003] The present invention relates to a heat pump system for a vehicle, and more particularly to a heat pump system for a vehicle capable of improving cooling performance and heating performance. Background Art
[0004] Generally, an air conditioning system for a vehicle includes an air conditioning unit that circulates a refrigerant to heat or cool the interior of the vehicle.
[0005] The air conditioning unit is used to keep the interior of the vehicle at a suitable temperature regardless of the external temperature change. The air conditioning unit is configured to heat or cool the interior of the vehicle. This is achieved by using the condenser and the evaporator for heat exchange in the process in which the refrigerant discharged by the drive of the compressor circulates back to the compressor through the condenser, the receiver dryer, the expansion valve and the evaporator.
[0006] In other words, the air conditioning unit condenses the high-temperature and high-pressure gas-phase refrigerant compressed from the compressor through the condenser, passes the refrigerant through the receiver-drier and the expansion valve, and then evaporates the refrigerant in the evaporator in the cooling mode, thereby reducing the temperature and humidity inside the vehicle.
[0007] As concerns about energy efficiency and environmental pollution continue to increase, there is a need to develop environmentally friendly vehicles that can substantially replace internal combustion engine vehicles. Environmentally friendly vehicles are divided into electric vehicles driven using fuel cells or electricity as a power source, and hybrid vehicles driven using an engine and a battery.
[0008] In these environmentally friendly vehicles, unlike air conditioning devices of general vehicles, no separate heater is used. The air conditioning device used in the environmentally friendly vehicle is generally called a heat pump system.
[0009] Electric vehicles driven by a fuel cell power source generate driving force by converting the chemical reaction energy between oxygen and hydrogen into electrical energy. In this process, heat energy is generated by the chemical reaction in the fuel cell. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure the performance of the fuel cell to effectively remove the generated heat.
[0010] In addition, hybrid vehicles generate driving force by driving a motor using electricity supplied from the above-mentioned fuel cell or battery and an engine running on ordinary fuel. Therefore, the heat generated by the fuel cell or battery and the motor should be effectively removed to ensure the performance of the motor.
[0011] Therefore, in a hybrid vehicle or electric vehicle according to the related art, a cooling device, a heat pump system, and a battery cooling system should be respectively constructed as separate closed circuits to prevent the motor, the electric components, and the battery including the fuel cell from generating heat.
[0012] Therefore, the size and weight of the cooling module provided at the front of the vehicle increase, and the layout of connection pipes that supply refrigerant and coolant to each of the heat pump system, the cooling device, and the battery cooling system in the engine compartment becomes complicated.
[0013] In addition, since a battery cooling system that heats or cools the battery according to the vehicle state is separately provided to obtain the best performance of the battery, a plurality of valves for selectively interconnecting the connection pipes are adopted. Therefore, noise and vibration generated by frequent opening and closing operations of the valves may be introduced into the vehicle interior, thereby reducing riding comfort.
[0014] Furthermore, when heating the interior of the vehicle, heating performance may be deteriorated due to lack of a heat source, power consumption may be increased due to use of an electric heater, and power consumption of a compressor may be increased.
[0015] The above information disclosed in the Background section is only for enhancement of understanding of the background of the invention. Therefore, the Background section may contain information that does not constitute the prior art that is already known to a person of ordinary skill in the art. Summary of the invention

[0071] In addition, terms such as “unit,” “means,” “portion,” “section,” and “member” described in the specification refer to a unit of an integrated element that performs at least one function or operation.
[0072] When a component, device, element, etc. of the present invention is described as having a purpose or performing an operation, function, etc., the component, device or element should be considered as "configured to" satisfy the purpose or perform the operation or function in this document.
[0073] Figure 1 is a block diagram illustrating a heat pump system for a vehicle according to an embodiment.
[0074] The heat pump system for a vehicle according to the embodiment may selectively operate in a selected one of a cooling mode and a heating mode inside the vehicle using the gas injection device 30 , thereby improving cooling and heating performance.
[0075] In a heat pump system for an electric vehicle, a cooling device that circulates coolant may be interconnected with an air conditioning unit, which is an air conditioning device used to cool and heat the interior of the vehicle.
[0076] refer to Figure 1 The heat pump system may include: a cooling device and an air conditioning unit, the air conditioning unit including a compressor 10, a first condenser 12, a liquid storage dryer 13, a second condenser 14, an evaporator 15, a cooler 20, a refrigerant connecting pipeline 21, and a gas injection device 30.
[0077] First, the cooling device 101 may include a radiator (not shown) and electrical components (not shown) connected by a coolant line through which the coolant circulates. In addition, the cooling device 101 may be connected to the battery module 107 by a separate coolant line through which the coolant circulates.
[0078] The radiator may be disposed in a front region of the vehicle. A cooling fan (not shown) may be disposed at the rear of the radiator. Thus, the radiator may cool the coolant by the operation of the cooling fan to exchange heat with ambient air.
[0079] The cooling device 101 may be connected to the first condenser 12 through a first line 111 through which a coolant circulates, and may be connected to the chiller 20 through a fourth line 114 through which a coolant circulates.
[0080] In addition, the first condenser 12 may be connected to the heater core 103 through the second line 112 through which the coolant circulates. Therefore, in the heating mode of the vehicle interior, the coolant having a raised temperature by heat exchange with the refrigerant in the first condenser 12 may be supplied to the heater core 103 through the second line 112.
[0081] The high temperature coolant supplied to the heater core 103 can heat the ambient air passing through the heater core 103. In other words, since the introduced ambient air is converted into a high temperature state when passing through the heater core 103 and then introduced into the vehicle interior, heating of the vehicle interior can be achieved.
[0082] The first line 111 may be selectively opened to supply the coolant to the first condenser 12 in a cooling mode and a heating mode of the vehicle interior.
[0083] In addition, in a heating mode of the vehicle interior, the second line 112 may be opened to connect the first condenser 12 and the heater core 103 .
[0084] The evaporator 15 may be connected to the cabin cooler 105 through a third line 113 through which the coolant circulates. Therefore, in a cooling mode of the vehicle interior, the coolant having a reduced temperature by heat exchange with the refrigerant in the evaporator 15 may be supplied to the cabin cooler 105 through the third line 113.
[0085] The ambient air passing through the cabin cooler 105 may be cooled by the low-temperature coolant supplied to the cabin cooler 105 while passing through the cabin cooler 105. Since the cooled ambient air is introduced into the vehicle interior, the vehicle interior may be cooled.
[0086] In other words, in the cooling mode of the vehicle interior, the third line 113 may be opened to connect the evaporator 15 and the cabin cooler 105 .
[0087] In addition, the cooler 20 may be connected to the cooling device 101 through a fourth line 114 through which the coolant circulates. In addition, the cooler 20 may be connected to the battery module 107 through a fifth line 115 through which the coolant circulates.
[0088] In the heating mode of the vehicle interior, in the case of recovering waste heat of the electric components and heat of the ambient air, the fourth line 114 may be opened to connect the cooling device 101 and the cooler 20 .
[0089] In addition, when the battery module 107 is to be cooled in a cooling mode inside the vehicle, or when waste heat of the battery module 107 is to be recovered in a heating mode inside the vehicle, the fifth line 115 may be opened to connect the cooler 20 and the battery module 107 .
[0090] The coolant may selectively circulate through the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth lines 111 , 112 , 113 , 114 , and 115 by operation of a water pump (not shown).
[0091] Electrical components may include an electric power control unit (EPCU), motor, inverter, on-board charger (OBC), autonomous driving controller, etc.
[0092] The power control device, the inverter, the motor, or the autonomous driving controller may generate heat when the vehicle is driven, and the charger may generate heat when charging the battery module 107 .
[0093] In other words, when the waste heat of the electrical components is to be recovered in the heating mode of the vehicle interior, the heat generated from the power control device, motor, inverter, charger or autonomous driving controller can be recovered. In addition, the ambient air heat can be recovered by heat exchange with the coolant in the radiator.
[0094] In the present embodiment, the compressor 10 may compress the supplied refrigerant. The first condenser 12 may be connected to the compressor 10 through a refrigerant line 11.
[0095] The first condenser 12 may preliminarily condense the refrigerant by performing heat exchange between the refrigerant supplied from the compressor 10 and the coolant supplied from the cooling device 101 to the first line 111 .
[0096] The receiver drier 13 may be connected to the first condenser 12 through the refrigerant line 11. The receiver drier 13 may separate gaseous refrigerant remaining in the liquid refrigerant condensed by the first condenser 12.
[0097] In other words, the receiver-drier 13 may separate gaseous components from the introduced refrigerant and filter moisture and foreign materials, thereby discharging only liquid refrigerant.
[0098] The second condenser 14 may be connected to the receiver-drier 13 through a refrigerant line 11 .
[0099] The second condenser 14 may further condense the refrigerant by exchanging heat between the refrigerant supplied from the receiver-drier 13 and a working fluid such as air or coolant.
[0100] In the present embodiment, the evaporator 15 may be connected to the second condenser 12 through the refrigerant line 11. The evaporator 15 may evaporate the refrigerant by exchanging heat between the refrigerant supplied from the second condenser 12 through the gas injection device 30 and the coolant supplied from the cabin cooler 105.
[0101] A first end of the refrigerant connection line 21 may be connected to the refrigerant line 11 between the compressor 10 and the evaporator 15. A second end of the refrigerant connection line 21 may be connected to the gas injection device 30.
[0102] The cooler 20 may be disposed in the refrigerant connecting line 21. The coolant may selectively circulate inside the cooler 20 through one or both of the fourth line 114 or the fifth line 115.
[0103] In other words, the cooler 20 may be a water-cooled heat exchanger through which the coolant circulates.
[0104] Therefore, the cooler 20 may adjust the temperature of the coolant by performing heat exchange between the refrigerant introduced into the refrigerant connecting line 21 and the coolant selectively introduced from one or both of the fourth line 114 and the fifth line 115 .
[0105] Furthermore, when recovering ambient air heat in a heating mode of the vehicle interior, the cooler 20 may perform heat exchange between the coolant supplied from the cooling device 101 to the fourth line 114 and the refrigerant to recover ambient air heat and evaporate the refrigerant.
[0106] In addition, the gas injection device 30 may be provided in the refrigerant line 11 between the second condenser 14 and the evaporator 15 .
[0107] The gas injection device 30 may selectively expand and flow the refrigerant supplied from the second condenser 12. The gas injection device 30 may also selectively supply a portion of the supplied refrigerant to the compressor 10 to increase the amount (eg, flow rate) of the refrigerant circulating through the refrigerant line 11.
[0108] The gas injection device 30 is configured to selectively operate in a cooling mode, a heating mode, or a dehumidification mode of the vehicle interior.
[0109] The gas injection device 30 may include a gas-liquid separator 31 , a supply part 32 , a first expansion valve 33 , a second expansion valve 34 , a third expansion valve 35 , and a supply line 37 .
[0110] First, the gas-liquid separator 31 may separate and selectively discharge gaseous refrigerant and liquid refrigerant from the refrigerant introduced inside.
[0111] The supply part 32 may be connected to the second condenser 12 through the refrigerant line 11 so that the refrigerant supplied from the second condenser 12 can be introduced.
[0112] In the present embodiment, the first expansion valve 33 may be disposed between the gas-liquid separator 31 and the supply portion 32 to selectively expand the refrigerant supplied to the supply portion 32 and supply the expanded refrigerant to the gas-liquid separator 31 .
[0113] The second expansion valve 34 may be disposed between the gas-liquid separator 31 and the supply part 32. The second expansion valve 34 may be configured to selectively expand the refrigerant supplied to the supply part 32 and supply the expanded refrigerant to the cooler 20, or supply the refrigerant supplied from the gas-liquid separator 31 to the cooler 20.
[0114] The third expansion valve 35 may be disposed between the gas-liquid separator 31 and the supply part 32 to selectively expand the refrigerant supplied to the supply part 32 and supply it to the evaporator 15. Alternatively, the third expansion valve 35 may be configured to supply the refrigerant supplied from the gas-liquid separator 31 to the evaporator 15.
[0115] The first expansion valve 33, the second expansion valve 34, and the third expansion valve 35 may be selectively operated when air conditioning (including cooling, heating, and dehumidification) the interior of the vehicle is performed. In addition, the first expansion valve 33, the second expansion valve 34, and the third expansion valve 35 may selectively expand the refrigerant while controlling the flow rate of the refrigerant supplied to the gas injection device 30.
[0116] In addition, the second expansion valve 34 and the third expansion valve 35 may be three-way electronic expansion valves that selectively expand the refrigerant while controlling the flow of the refrigerant. The second expansion valve 34 and the third expansion valve 35 have two inlets and one outlet.
[0117] In the present embodiment, the discharge part 36 may connect the gas-liquid separator 31 to the second expansion valve 34 and the third expansion valve 35. In addition, the discharge part 36 may be configured to discharge the refrigerant from the gas-liquid separator 31 to the second expansion valve 34 or the third expansion valve 35.
[0118] The second expansion valve 34 and the third expansion valve 35 may be provided in parallel with the first expansion valve 33 via the supply part 32 and the discharge part 36 .
[0119] In addition, the supply line 37 connects the gas-liquid separator 31 to the compressor 10. When the refrigerant is supplied to the gas-liquid separator 31, the supply line 37 may selectively supply the gaseous refrigerant from the gas-liquid separator 31 to the compressor 10.
[0120] In other words, the supply line 37 may connect the gas-liquid separator 31 to the compressor 10 so that the gas refrigerant separated by the gas-liquid separator 31 may selectively flow into the compressor 10 .
[0121] In the gas injection device 30 , when cooling or heating the vehicle interior, the gas-liquid separator 31 may operate when the first expansion valve 33 expands the refrigerant.
[0122] In other words, when the first expansion valve 33 expands the refrigerant and supplies the expanded refrigerant to the gas-liquid separator 31, the gas-liquid separator 31 can supply the gaseous refrigerant in the supplied refrigerant to the compressor 10 through the supply pipeline 37 to increase the flow rate of the refrigerant circulating through the refrigerant pipeline 11.
[0123] In the heat pump system thus configured, the flow of the refrigerant can be controlled according to at least one mode for adjusting the vehicle interior temperature or adjusting the battery module temperature.
[0124] The at least one mode may include first to fourth modes.
[0125] In the first mode, the gas-liquid separator 31 may operate, and the battery module 107 may be cooled while the interior of the vehicle is cooled.
[0126] In the second mode, the gas-liquid separator 31 may be operated, and the vehicle interior may be heated.
[0127] In the third mode, the gas-liquid separator 31 may not operate (ie, blocked, closed, turned off, etc.), and the battery module 107 may be cooled while the interior of the vehicle is cooled.
[0128] In addition, in the fourth mode, the gas-liquid separator 31 may not operate, and the vehicle interior may be heated.
[0129] refer to Figures 2 to 5 The operation and action of the heat pump system according to the embodiment are described in detail.
[0130] First, refer to Figure 2 Operation of the first mode of the heat pump system for a vehicle according to the embodiment is described, in which the gas-liquid separator 31 operates in the cooling mode of the vehicle interior and the battery module 107 is cooled.
[0131] Figure 2is a diagram illustrating operation of a heat pump system for a vehicle in a first mode according to an embodiment.
[0132] refer to Figure 2 In the first mode, the first expansion valve 33 may expand the refrigerant supplied through the supply part 32 and supply the expanded refrigerant to the gas-liquid separator 31. The supply line 37 may be opened.
[0133] Therefore, the gas-liquid separator 31 may supply the gaseous refrigerant among the internally introduced refrigerant to the compressor 10 through the opened supply line 37 .
[0134] In other words, the gas injection device 30 may increase the flow rate of the refrigerant circulating through the refrigerant line 11 by returning the gaseous refrigerant separated while passing through the gas-liquid separator 31 to the compressor 10 through the supply line 37 .
[0135] Meanwhile, the second expansion valve 34 may expand the refrigerant supplied from the gas-liquid separator 31 through the discharge portion 36 and allow the expanded refrigerant to flow to the refrigerant connection line 21 connected to the cooler 20 .
[0136] The refrigerant introduced into the refrigerant connection line 21 may flow into the cooler 20. The refrigerant introduced into the cooler 20 may exchange heat with the coolant supplied from the battery module 107 through the fifth line 115, thereby cooling the coolant.
[0137] The coolant cooled in the cooler 20 may be supplied to the battery module 107 along the fifth line 115. Therefore, the battery module 107 may be effectively cooled by the coolant cooled in the cooler 20.
[0138] In other words, the coolant circulating in the fifth line 115 may effectively cool the battery module 107 by repeatedly performing the above-mentioned operation.
[0139] In addition, the third expansion valve 35 may expand the refrigerant supplied from the gas-liquid separator 31 through the discharge portion 36 and allow the expanded refrigerant to flow to the refrigerant line 11 .
[0140] In other words, the liquid refrigerant stored in the gas-liquid separator 31 may flow into the cooler 20 along the refrigerant connection line 21 in a state of being expanded by the operation of the second expansion valve 34 .
[0141] In addition, the liquid refrigerant stored in the gas-liquid separator 31 may flow into the evaporator 15 along the refrigerant line 11 in a state of being expanded by the operation of the third expansion valve 35 .
[0142] The refrigerant introduced into the evaporator 15 may be evaporated by exchanging heat with the coolant supplied from the cabin cooler 105 to the third line 113 .
[0143] The ambient air introduced into the vehicle interior may be cooled by heat-exchanging with the low-temperature coolant introduced into the cabin cooler 105. Thus, the cooled ambient air may cool the vehicle interior by being directly drawn into the vehicle interior.
[0144] The refrigerant having passed through the evaporator 15 and the cooler 20 may flow into the compressor 10 .
[0145] In other words, the refrigerant having passed through the evaporator 15 and the cooler 20 and the refrigerant supplied from the gas-liquid separator 31 through the supply line 37 may flow together into the compressor 10. The introduced refrigerant may be compressed by the operation of the compressor 10.
[0146] The refrigerant compressed in the compressor 10 may be supplied to the first condenser 12. The first condenser 12 may condense the refrigerant by using the coolant supplied from the cooling device 101 through the opened first line 111.
[0147] The refrigerant condensed in the first condenser 12 may flow into the receiver drier 13 along the refrigerant line 11. The receiver drier 13 may separate gas components from the introduced refrigerant and filter moisture and foreign matter, thereby discharging only the refrigerant in a liquid state.
[0148] The refrigerant discharged from the receiver drier 13 may be supplied to the second condenser 14 along the refrigerant line 11. The second condenser 14 may further condense the refrigerant by exchanging heat between the refrigerant supplied from the receiver drier 13 and a working fluid such as air or coolant.
[0149] The refrigerant further condensed in the second condenser 14 may be supplied to the gas injection device 30 .
[0150] The heat pump system according to the embodiment may increase the amount of refrigerant flowing along the refrigerant line 11 while repeatedly performing the above-mentioned operations.
[0151] In addition, the heat pump system may improve overall cooling performance and efficiency by increasing the amount of refrigerant flowing along the refrigerant line 11 , and effectively cool the interior of the vehicle.
[0152] Meanwhile, the heat pump system may effectively cool the battery module 107 by using the low-temperature coolant cooled in the cooler 20 .
[0153] refer to Figure 3The operation of the second mode of the heat pump system for a vehicle according to the embodiment is described. In the second mode (ie, the heating mode of the vehicle interior), the gas-liquid separator 31 may operate and recover ambient air heat and waste heat of electric components.
[0154] Figure 3 is a diagram illustrating operation of a heat pump system for a vehicle in a second mode according to an embodiment.
[0155] refer to Figure 3 When the gas-liquid separator 31 is in operation, the heat pump system can absorb ambient air heat and waste heat of electrical components from the coolant supplied by the cooling device 101 .
[0156] Ambient air heat may be absorbed by exchanging heat between the coolant passing through the radiator and the ambient air.
[0157] In other words, when the gas-liquid separator 31 operates in the second mode, the first expansion valve 33 may expand the refrigerant supplied through the supply part 32 and supply the expanded refrigerant to the gas-liquid separator 31. The supply line 37 may be opened.
[0158] Therefore, the gas-liquid separator 31 may supply the gaseous refrigerant among the internally introduced refrigerant to the compressor 10 through the opened supply line 37 .
[0159] In other words, the gas injection device 30 may increase the flow rate of the refrigerant circulating through the refrigerant line 11 by returning the gaseous refrigerant separated while passing through the gas-liquid separator 31 to the compressor 10 through the supply line 37 .
[0160] Meanwhile, the second expansion valve 34 may expand the refrigerant supplied from the gas-liquid separator 31 through the discharge portion 36 and allow the expanded refrigerant to flow to the refrigerant connection line 21 connected to the cooler 20 .
[0161] In addition, the third expansion valve 35 may stop operating.
[0162] Therefore, the refrigerant introduced through the refrigerant connection line 21 may flow into the cooler 20. The refrigerant introduced into the cooler 20 may exchange heat with the coolant supplied from the cooling device 101 through the fourth line 114, thereby cooling the cooler 20.
[0163] The coolant can absorb ambient air heat while passing through the radiator and increase its temperature. The coolant can absorb waste heat from the electrical components and increase its temperature. The coolant heated by such operation can be supplied to the cooler 20.
[0164] The cooler 20 may recover ambient air heat and waste heat of the electric components while performing heat exchange between the coolant supplied from the cooling device 101 to the fourth line 114 and the refrigerant.
[0165] In other words, the liquid refrigerant stored in the gas-liquid separator 31 may flow into the cooler 20 along the refrigerant connecting line 21 in an expanded state by the operation of the second expansion valve 34 .
[0166] The refrigerant having passed through the cooler 20 may flow into the compressor 10 .
[0167] In other words, the refrigerant having passed through the cooler 20 and the refrigerant supplied from the gas-liquid separator 31 through the supply line 37 may be introduced into the compressor 10. The introduced refrigerant may be compressed by the operation of the compressor 10.
[0168] The refrigerant compressed at the compressor 10 is supplied to the first condenser 12. The first condenser 12 may condense the refrigerant by using the coolant supplied from the heater core 103 through the opened second line 112.
[0169] Therefore, the coolant heated by heat-exchanging with the refrigerant at the first condenser 12 may be supplied to the heater core 103 .
[0170] The first line 111 , the third line 113 , and the fifth line 115 may be closed.
[0171] In addition, the refrigerant condensed in the first condenser 12 may flow into the receiver drier 13 along the refrigerant line 11. The receiver drier 13 may separate gas components from the introduced refrigerant and filter moisture and foreign materials, thereby discharging only liquid refrigerant.
[0172] The refrigerant discharged from the receiver drier 13 may be supplied to the second condenser 14 along the refrigerant line 11. The second condenser 14 may further condense the refrigerant by exchanging heat between the refrigerant supplied from the receiver drier 13 and a working fluid such as air or coolant.
[0173] The refrigerant further condensed in the second condenser 14 may be supplied to the gas injection device 30 .
[0174] The ambient air introduced into the vehicle interior is converted into a high temperature state by heat exchange with the coolant in a high temperature state introduced into the heater core 103 and then introduced into the vehicle interior, thereby achieving heating of the vehicle interior.
[0175] Therefore, the refrigerant circulating through the heat pump system can smoothly recollect waste heat from the coolant whose temperature is increased by the ambient air heat in the chiller 20 and pass through the electrical components at the same time. Therefore, the overall heating performance and efficiency can be improved.
[0176] In addition, according to the present invention, heating efficiency and performance can be improved while minimizing the use of a separate electric heater.
[0177] Furthermore, the heating performance may be maximized by increasing the flow rate of the refrigerant circulating through the refrigerant line 11 by the gas injection device 30 .
[0178] In the present embodiment, it has been described that the ambient air heat and the waste heat of the electric components are recovered together, but the present invention is not limited thereto. At least one of the ambient air heat, the waste heat of the electric components, and the waste heat of the battery module 107 may be selectively recovered.
[0179] refer to Figure 4 The operation of the third mode of the heat pump system for a vehicle according to the embodiment is described. In the third mode (ie, in the cooling mode of the vehicle interior), the gas-liquid separator 31 may not operate, and the battery module 107 is cooled.
[0180] Figure 4 is a diagram illustrating operation of a heat pump system for a vehicle according to an embodiment at a third mode.
[0181] refer to Figure 4 In the third mode, the gas-liquid separator 31 is not required to work, and when cooling the battery module 107, the first expansion valve 33 stops working.
[0182] Therefore, the flow of the refrigerant to the gas-liquid separator 31 is blocked. In addition, the supply line 37 may be closed.
[0183] Meanwhile, the second expansion valve 34 may expand the refrigerant supplied from the second condenser 14 through the supply part 32 and allow the expanded refrigerant to flow to the refrigerant connection line 21 connected to the cooler 20 .
[0184] The refrigerant introduced through the refrigerant connection line 21 may flow into the cooler 20. The refrigerant introduced into the cooler 20 may perform heat exchange with the coolant supplied from the battery module 107 through the fifth line 115, thereby cooling the coolant.
[0185] The coolant cooled in the cooler 20 may be supplied to the battery module 107 along the fifth line 115. Therefore, the battery module 107 may be effectively cooled by the coolant cooled in the cooler 20.
[0186] In other words, the coolant circulating in the fifth line 115 may effectively cool the battery module 107 by repeatedly performing the above-mentioned operation.
[0187] In addition, the third expansion valve 35 may expand the refrigerant supplied from the second condenser 14 through the supply part 32 and allow the expanded refrigerant to flow to the refrigerant line 11 .
[0188] In other words, the refrigerant introduced into the supply part 32 may flow into the evaporator 15 along the refrigerant line 11 in a state of being expanded by the operation of the third expansion valve 35 .
[0189] The refrigerant introduced into the evaporator 15 may be evaporated by exchanging heat with the coolant supplied from the cabin cooler 105 to the third line 113 .
[0190] The ambient air introduced into the vehicle interior is cooled by heat exchange with the coolant in a low temperature state drawn into the cabin cooler 105. Therefore, the cooled ambient air can cool the vehicle interior by being directly drawn into the vehicle interior.
[0191] The refrigerant having passed through the evaporator 15 may flow into the compressor 10. The refrigerant introduced into the compressor 10 may be compressed by the operation of the compressor 10.
[0192] The refrigerant compressed in the compressor 10 may be supplied to the first condenser 12. At this time, the first condenser 12 may condense the refrigerant by using the coolant supplied from the cooling device 101 through the opened first line 111.
[0193] The refrigerant condensed in the first condenser 12 may flow into the receiver drier 13 along the refrigerant line 11. The receiver drier 13 may separate gas components from the introduced refrigerant and filter moisture and foreign materials, thereby discharging only the refrigerant in a liquid state.
[0194] The refrigerant discharged from the receiver drier 13 may be supplied to the second condenser 14 along the refrigerant line 11. The second condenser 14 may further condense the refrigerant by exchanging heat between the refrigerant supplied from the receiver drier 13 and a working fluid such as air or coolant.
[0195] The refrigerant further condensed in the second condenser 14 may be supplied to the supply part 32 provided in the gas injection device 30 .
[0196] The heat pump system according to the embodiment may effectively cool the vehicle interior in the third mode while repeatedly performing the above-mentioned process.
[0197] Meanwhile, the heat pump system may effectively cool the battery module 107 by using the low-temperature coolant cooled in the cooler 20 .
[0198] refer to Figure 5 The operation of the fourth mode of the heat pump system for a vehicle according to the embodiment is described. In the fourth mode (ie, in the heating mode of the vehicle), the gas-liquid separator 31 may not operate, and ambient air heat and waste heat of electric components are recovered.
[0199] Figure 5 is a diagram illustrating operation of a heat pump system for a vehicle at a fourth mode according to an embodiment.
[0200] refer to Figure 5 When the gas-liquid separator 31 is not working, the heat pump system can absorb the ambient air heat and the waste heat of the electrical components from the coolant supplied by the cooling device 101.
[0201] Ambient air heat may be absorbed by exchanging heat between the coolant passing through the radiator and the ambient air.
[0202] In other words, when the gas-liquid separator 31 does not operate in the fourth mode, the first expansion valve 33 stops operating.
[0203] Therefore, the flow of the refrigerant to the gas-liquid separator 31 is blocked. In addition, the supply line 37 may be closed.
[0204] Meanwhile, the second expansion valve 34 may expand the refrigerant supplied from the second condenser 14 through the supply part 32 and allow the expanded refrigerant to flow to the refrigerant connection line 21 connected to the cooler 20 .
[0205] In addition, the third expansion valve 35 may stop operating.
[0206] Therefore, the refrigerant introduced into the refrigerant connection line 21 may flow into the cooler 20. The refrigerant introduced into the cooler 20 may exchange heat with the coolant supplied from the cooling device 101 through the fourth line 114, thereby cooling the cooler 20.
[0207] The coolant may absorb ambient air heat and increase in temperature when passing through the radiator. The coolant may also absorb waste heat from electrical components and increase in temperature. The coolant whose temperature is increased by such operation may be supplied to the cooler 20.
[0208] The cooler 20 may recover ambient air heat and waste heat of the electric components while performing heat exchange between the coolant supplied from the cooling device 101 to the fourth line 114 and the refrigerant.
[0209] In other words, the refrigerant discharged from the second condenser 14 may flow into the cooler 20 along the refrigerant connection line 21 in a state of being expanded by the operation of the second expansion valve 34 .
[0210] The refrigerant having passed through the cooler 20 may flow into the compressor 10 .
[0211] In other words, the refrigerant having passed through the cooler 20 may flow into the compressor 10. The introduced refrigerant may be compressed by the operation of the compressor 10.
[0212] The refrigerant compressed in the compressor 10 may be supplied to the first condenser 12. The first condenser 12 may condense the refrigerant by using the coolant supplied from the heater core 103 through the opened second line 112.
[0213] Therefore, the coolant whose temperature is increased by heat exchange with the refrigerant in the first condenser 12 may be supplied to the heater core 103 .
[0214] The first line 111 , the third line 113 , and the fifth line 115 may be closed.
[0215] In addition, the refrigerant condensed in the first condenser 12 may flow into the receiver drier 13 along the refrigerant line 11. The receiver drier 13 may separate gas components from the introduced refrigerant and filter moisture and foreign matter, thereby discharging only liquid refrigerant.
[0216] The refrigerant discharged from the receiver drier 13 may be supplied to the second condenser 14 along the refrigerant line 11. The second condenser 14 may further condense the refrigerant by exchanging heat between the refrigerant supplied from the receiver drier 13 and a working fluid such as air or coolant.
[0217] In addition, the refrigerant further condensed in the second condenser 14 may flow into the supply part 32 .
[0218] The ambient air introduced into the vehicle interior is converted into a high temperature state by heat exchange with the coolant in a high temperature state introduced into the heater core 103 and then introduced into the vehicle interior, thereby achieving heating of the vehicle interior.
[0219] Therefore, the refrigerant circulating through the heat pump system can smoothly recover waste heat from the coolant whose temperature is increased by the ambient air heat and when passing through the electrical components in the chiller 20. Therefore, the overall heating performance and efficiency can be improved.
[0220] Additionally, the present invention can improve heating efficiency and performance while minimizing the use of separate electric heaters.
[0221] As described in the present invention, ambient air heat and waste heat of electrical components are recovered, however the present disclosure is not limited thereto. At least one of ambient air heat, waste heat of electrical components, and waste heat of the battery module 107 may be selectively recovered.
[0222] Therefore, as described above, according to the heat pump system for a vehicle according to the embodiment, waste heat of electric components can be recovered according to the mode of the vehicle and the temperature of the battery module 107 can be adjusted. This is achieved by using a single cooler 20 in which coolant and refrigerant perform heat exchange.
[0223] In addition, according to the present invention, by selectively operating the air conditioning inside the vehicle using the gas injection device 30 to increase the flow rate of the refrigerant, the cooling and heating performance can be improved.
[0224] In addition, according to the present invention, the performance of the system can be maximized by using the gas injection device while minimizing the number of required components, thereby streamlining and simplifying the system.
[0225] In addition, according to an embodiment, by effectively adjusting the temperature of the battery module 107, optimal performance of the battery module 107 can be achieved, and the total driving distance of the vehicle can be increased due to the effective management of the battery module 107.
[0226] In addition, according to the present invention, in the heating mode of the vehicle, the heating efficiency can be improved by selectively utilizing the ambient air heat, the waste heat of the electric components, or the waste heat of the battery module 107 .
[0227] In addition, according to the embodiment, the manufacturing cost and weight can be reduced by simplifying the entire system, and the space utilization can be improved.
