AI Technical Summary
When the existing connector detects the semi-inserted state of the terminal parts, there is a risk of misjudgment, and the front stopper is unstable in shape when assembling.
A connector is designed, wherein the front stopper has a front wall portion arranged on the front surface side of the housing and a peripheral wall portion extending backward from the outer edge of the front wall portion. The outer peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion is surrounded by the cover portion of the opposite side case, and has a displacement allowable portion that allows elastic displacement in the inner and outer directions. The arrangement of the inner contact portion and the outer contact portion allows the peripheral wall portion to be evenly deflected in the inner and outer directions, reducing movement resistance.
The reliability of detecting the semi-insert state of the terminal parts is improved, and the shape stability of the front stopper is maintained during assembly, avoiding misjudgment and shape deformation.

Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a connector. Background Art
[0002] Patent document 1 discloses a structure in which a front stopper is installed at the front end of the female housing. When the terminal part is located close to the normal position relative to the terminal storage portion of the female housing (i.e., in a semi-inserted state), the lance is elastically displaced by the terminal part. In this state, the elastically deformed lance prevents the front stopper from moving toward the formal stop position. When the front stopper interferes with the elastically deformed lance, the resistance to movement of the front stopper toward the formal stop position increases, and the movement of the front stopper stops before reaching the formal stop position, thereby enabling detection of the semi-inserted state of the terminal part. The front bracket in patent document 2 can also detect the semi-insertion of the terminal part. Prior art literature Patent Literature
[0003] Patent Document 1: Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2014-203633 Patent Document 2: Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2008-16262 Summary of the invention Problems to be solved by the invention
[0004] The front stopper of patent document 1 is provided with a protrusion protruding inward (also serving as a locking protrusion 40L) on the inner circumferential surface of the peripheral wall. For example, if the protrusion contacts the female side housing strongly, the movement resistance of the front stopper toward the formal locking position becomes large, and the operator who operates the front stopper realizes that the front stopper interferes with the lance, but there is a concern that the terminal part is in a half-inserted state. In addition, the front stopper of patent document 1 is provided with a protrusion protruding outward on the outer circumferential surface of the peripheral wall. A flexure space is provided at a portion connected to the peripheral wall portion on the outer edge side of the front wall portion. When the protrusion contacts the cover portion, even if the portion provided with the protrusion (hereinafter also referred to as the outer wall portion) is elastically deformed in the flexure space, since the protrusion is arranged in a circumferential direction without relation to the flexure space, the outer wall portion cannot be elastically deformed in a well-balanced manner, and there is a concern that the outer wall portion is deformed and elastically deformed.
[0005] Therefore, an object of the present disclosure is to provide a connector capable of improving the reliability of detecting a half-insertion state of a terminal part and maintaining the shape stability of a front stopper when assembled. Solutions to Solve Problems
[0006] The connector disclosed in the present invention has: Terminal parts; a housing for receiving the terminal parts; and A front stopper, which is assembled on the housing and locks the terminal part. [0009] [Description of Embodiments of the Present Disclosure] First, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described by way of examples. The connector disclosed in the present invention is configured as follows: (1) It comprises: a terminal part; a housing that accommodates the terminal part; and a front stopper that is assembled to the housing and locks the terminal part. The front stopper has a front wall portion that is arranged on the front surface side of the housing, and a peripheral wall portion that extends rearward from the outer edge of the front wall portion and surrounds the outer peripheral surface of the housing. The outer peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion is surrounded by the cover portion of the other side housing. The peripheral wall portion has an outer contact portion that is in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the cover portion as a part of the outer peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion, and an inner contact portion that is in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the housing as a part of the inner peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion. The front stopper has a displacement allowing portion that allows the peripheral wall portion to be elastically displaced in the inner and outer directions. In the circumferential direction of the peripheral wall portion, the inner contact portion is arranged on both sides of the displacement allowing portion, and the outer contact portion is arranged between a pair of inner contact portions. According to this structure, since the peripheral wall portion corresponding to the formation position of the outer contact portion and the inner contact portion in the peripheral wall portion can be elastically displaced in the inner and outer directions via the displacement allowing portion, the inner contact portion can be prevented from strongly contacting the housing when the front stopper is assembled to the housing. In addition, the presence of the displacement allowing portion can reduce the movement resistance, thereby preventing the front stopper from being stopped in the middle of movement by mistake.
[0010] (2) In the connector disclosed in the present invention, preferably, a displacement allowing portion is sandwiched between a pair of inner contact portions in the circumferential direction, and the outer contact portion is arranged at a position corresponding to the center portion of the pair of inner contact portions in the circumferential direction. According to this structure, the portion of the peripheral wall portion corresponding to the formation position of the outer contact portion and the inner contact portion can be uniformly bent in the circumferential direction.
[0011] (3) In the connector disclosed herein, the outer contact portion preferably projects outward from the outer circumference of the peripheral wall, and the inner contact portion preferably projects inward from the inner circumference of the peripheral wall. This structure allows the position of contact with the other side (housing, cover) to be clearly identified.
[0012] (4) In the connector of the present disclosure, the displacement allowing portion is preferably a recessed portion formed at a portion connected to the peripheral wall portion on the outer edge side of the front wall portion. According to this configuration, a portion of the peripheral wall portion can be easily elastically deformed in the inner and outer directions.
[0013] (5) In the connector disclosed in the present invention, preferably, in the circumferential direction, a pair of inner contact portions sandwich the displacement allowing portion, and the peripheral wall portion has a slit portion, which is formed at a position that forms a pair with the pair of inner contact portions sandwiched therebetween. According to this structure, since the shape of a part of the peripheral wall portion where the outer contact portion and the inner contact portion are arranged can be set to a cantilever shape, the peripheral wall portion can be made more easily elastically deformable in the inner and outer directions.
[0014] [Details of the embodiments of the present disclosure]
[0015] <Implementation method 1> Reference Figures 1 to 10 , a connector 10 that embodies the present disclosure is described. In the figure, "front side", "rear side", "upper side", "lower side", "right side" and "left side" are represented by "F", "B", "U", "D", "R" and "L", respectively. In the present embodiment 1, the left-right direction corresponds to the width direction. Figure 1 As shown, the connector 10 of the first embodiment includes a first housing 11 as a housing that can be mated with each other, a second housing 12 as a counterpart housing, a front stopper 13, and a female terminal part 30 as a terminal part. The front side is the side where the second housing 12 is mated with the first housing 11. In addition, the front side of the second housing 12 is the side that is mated with the first housing 11.
[0016] [Structure of the first housing] The first housing 11 is made of synthetic resin. The first housing 11 is configured as a female housing capable of accommodating the female terminal parts 30 from the rear. Figure 2 As shown in FIG. 1 , the first housing 11 includes a housing body 11A that is flat in the left-right direction (width direction) and a cylindrical surrounding wall portion 11B that surrounds the outer periphery of the housing body 11A. A plurality of cavities 11C are formed in the housing body 11A in a row in the left-right direction. A lance 11E (see FIG. 1 ) that extends forward in a cantilevered manner is provided on the inner surface of each cavity 11C. Figure 8 ).
[0017] A groove portion 11F is formed at the front end portion of the housing body 11A between adjacent cavities 11C. A partition wall 13J of a front stopper 13 described below is inserted into the groove portion 11F from the front.
[0018] The surrounding wall portion 11B is in the shape of a square tube having an upper wall, a lower wall, a left wall, and a right wall in the upper and lower and left and right directions when viewed from the front (the fitting side of the first housing 11 relative to the second housing 12). A locking arm 11K is provided at the left-right central portion of the upper wall of the surrounding wall portion 11B. A connecting portion 11G extending inward is provided at the rear end portion of the surrounding wall portion 11B. The connecting portion 11G is connected to the outer peripheral surface of the housing body 11A. A fitting space 11D is formed between the surrounding wall portion 11B and the housing body 11A, into which the second housing 12 described below can be fitted.
[0019] The female terminal parts 30 are inserted into each cavity 11C from the rear. The female terminal parts 30 are made of a conductive metal. Figure 1As shown, the female terminal part 30 is connected to the terminal part of the electric wire 31, and a square cylindrical box part 30A is provided at the front. In the box part 30A, a tab 32A of the male terminal part 32 described below is inserted and connected (refer to Figure 8 The female terminal fitting 30 is prevented from being removed from the cavity 11C by locking the lance 11E at the rear end of the box portion 30A (see Figure 8 ). The rubber plug 33 is embedded in the electric wire 31. The rubber plug 33 is held by the cylindrical portion 30B of the female terminal fitting 30 and is in close contact with the inner surface of the rear portion of the cavity 11C, thereby sealing the cavity 11C in a liquid-tight manner (see Figure 8 ).
[0020] [Structure of the second housing] The second housing 12 is made of synthetic resin. The second housing 12 is configured as a male housing capable of assembling the male terminal parts 32. Figure 3 As shown, the second housing 12 has a terminal holding portion 12A that holds the male terminal part 32 and a cover portion 12B that extends forward in a square tube shape from the outer peripheral edge of the terminal holding portion 12A. In the cover portion 12B, a plurality of protrusions 32A of the male terminal part 32 that penetrate the terminal holding portion 12A in the front-to-back direction are protrudingly arranged. A locking portion 12C that protrudes upward is provided in the left-right central portion of the upper wall of the cover portion 12B.
[0021] [Structure of the front stopper] The front stopper 13 is made of synthetic resin. The front stopper 13 is mounted on the housing body 11A from the front (see Figure 8 The front stopper 13 is assembled to the housing body 11A to stop the female terminal fittings 30 and to detect the half-insertion state of the female terminal fittings 30 .
[0022] like Figures 4 to 7 As shown in FIG. 1 , the front stopper 13 includes a front wall portion 13A and a peripheral wall portion 13B extending backward in a cylindrical shape from the outer edge of the front wall portion 13A. When the front stopper 13 is assembled to the housing body 11A, the front wall portion 13A is arranged on the front surface side of the housing body 11A and is arranged to cover the lower portion of the front surface (the surface facing forward) of the housing body 11A from the front (see FIG. 1 ). Figure 8 ). The peripheral wall portion 13B is arranged to surround the outer peripheral surface of the front surface of the housing body 11A (see Figure 8 ).
[0023] The front wall 13A has a plurality of windows 13C formed therethrough corresponding to the cavities 11C. By inserting the front end of the housing body 11A into the window 13C, the front surface of the housing body 11A and the front surface of the front wall 13A are arranged on the same plane (see FIG. Figure 8 ).
[0024] like Figure 5 As shown in FIG. 1 , the front stopper 13 is provided with a plurality of detection portions 13H. The detection portions 13H are arranged in the left-right direction and extend rearward from the rear surface of the front wall portion 13A. The detection portions 13H are arranged along the lower surface of the front end portion of the lance 11E when the front stopper 13 is properly mounted on the housing body 11A (see FIG. 11A ). Figure 8 ). Thus, the detection portion 13H restricts the lance 11E from bending downward, preventing the female terminal part 30 disposed in the cavity 11C from being separated from the housing body 11A. The detection portion 13H is provided corresponding to each lance 11E. A plurality of partition walls 13J are provided on the front stopper 13. The partition wall 13J is in the shape of a flat plate, and is arranged so that the plate thickness direction faces the left-right direction, and separates the adjacent window holes 13C.
[0025] like Figure 4 As shown in FIG. 1 , two recesses 13D are provided on the front surface of the front wall portion 13A of the front stopper 13. The recesses 13D are connected to the peripheral wall portion 13B on the outer edge side of the front wall portion 13A and are arranged at the upper ends of the partition walls 13J located on both sides in the left-right direction. The recesses 13D separate the front end portion of the peripheral wall portion 13B and the front end portion of the partition wall 13J from top to bottom, and separate the front end portion of the peripheral wall portion 13B and the front wall portion 13A from top to bottom (see FIG. 1 ). Figure 7 ). Thus, the portion of the peripheral wall portion 13B corresponding to the arrangement position of the recessed portion 13D (hereinafter also referred to as the displacement portion 13K) is allowed to elastically deform in the up-down direction (inside-outside direction). Here, the inside-outside direction is a direction intersecting the front-back direction, which is equivalent to the direction connecting the inside and outside of the peripheral wall portion 13B, that is, the plate thickness direction of the peripheral wall portion 13B. In other words, the recessed portion 13D is a displacement allowing portion 13F that allows the displacement portion 13K of the peripheral wall portion 13B to be elastically deformed in the inside-outside direction.
[0026] like Figure 4 , Figure 5 As shown in FIG. 1 , a plurality of slit portions 13E are provided on the upper wall of the peripheral wall portion 13B of the front stopper 13 so as to be recessed from the front end toward the rear. The slit portions 13E are arranged corresponding to the window holes 13C. Two slit portions 13E located at the adjacent left ends and two slit portions 13E located at the adjacent right ends of the plurality of slit portions 13E are arranged in pairs with the recess 13D (displacement allowing portion 13F) sandwiched between them in the circumferential direction (see FIG. 1 ). Figure 4 ).
[0027] like Figure 4 , Figure 6As shown in FIG. 1 , the peripheral wall portion 13B has a plurality of outer contact portions 13G, 13L and a plurality of inner contact portions 13M. The plurality of outer contact portions 13G, 13L are provided on the outer peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion 13B so as to protrude outward. The outer contact portions 13G, 13L are in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the cover portion 12B as part of the outer peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion 13B (see FIG. 1 ). Fig.10 Two outer contact portions 13G are provided on the upper wall of the peripheral wall portion 13B, two outer contact portions 13L are provided on the lower wall of the peripheral wall portion 13B, and one outer contact portion 13L is provided on the left wall and the right wall of the peripheral wall portion 13B. The outer contact portions 13G and 13L are formed to extend in the front-to-back direction (see Figure 7 ). Each outer contact portion 13G provided on the upper wall of the peripheral wall portion 13B is arranged above the partition wall 13J and above the recessed portion 13D. In other words, in the circumferential direction of the upper wall of the peripheral wall portion 13B, the outer contact portion 13G is arranged within the formation range of one recessed portion 13D (displacement allowing portion 13F).
[0028] The four inner contact portions 13M are arranged on the inner peripheral surface of the upper wall of the peripheral wall portion 13B and protrude downward (inward) from the inner peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion 13B. The inner contact portions 13M are formed to extend in the front-rear direction (see Figure 7 ). The lower end of the inner contact portion 13M is formed by a plane parallel to the inner peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion 13B. The two inner contact portions 13M on the left side of the inner contact portion 13M are configured to sandwich the partition wall 13J and the recessed portion 13D at the left end from the left-right direction. The two inner contact portions 13M on the right side of the inner contact portion 13M are configured to sandwich the partition wall 13J and the recessed portion 13D at the right end from the left-right direction. In other words, in the circumferential direction of the peripheral wall portion 13B, the inner contact portions 13M are configured on both sides of the recessed portion 13D (displacement allowing portion 13F) sandwiched therebetween.
[0029] like Figure 6 As shown in FIG. 1 , the outer contact portion 13G provided on the upper wall of the peripheral wall portion 13B is arranged at a position corresponding to the central portion of the pair of inner contact portions 13M in the circumferential direction of the peripheral wall portion 13B, and the pair of inner contact portions 13M sandwich the recessed portion 13D (displacement allowing portion 13F) in the circumferential direction of the peripheral wall portion 13B. In other words, the outer contact portion 13G provided on the upper wall of the peripheral wall portion 13B is arranged between the pair of inner contact portions 13M sandwiching the recessed portion 13D (displacement allowing portion 13F) in the circumferential direction of the peripheral wall portion 13B. In the circumferential direction of the peripheral wall portion 13B, the slit portions 13E other than the slit portion 13E in the center in the left-right direction are arranged in pairs in a manner of sandwiching the pair of inner contact portions 13M in the middle, and the pair of inner contact portions 13M sandwiching the recessed portion 13D (displacement allowing portion 13F) in the circumferential direction of the peripheral wall portion 13B.
[0030] [How to assemble the components in the connector] like Figure 8 As shown, when the female terminal fitting 30 is inserted into the cavity 11C from behind and arranged in the proper position of the cavity 11C, the front end of the lance 11E faces the rear end of the box portion 30A of the female terminal fitting 30 from behind.
[0031] Then, the front stopper 13 is mounted on the housing body 11A from the front. At this time, the posture of the front stopper 13 is adjusted so that the detection portion 13H faces the lance 11E and the rear end of the detection portion 13H is lower than the front end of the lance 11E. When the front stopper 13 is mounted on the housing body 11A, Fig. 9 As shown in the figure, each inner contact portion 13M, as a part of the inner peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion 13B, contacts the upper end surface (outer peripheral surface) of the housing body 11A and is pressed upward by the housing body 11A. As a result, the peripheral wall portion 13B (displacement portion 13K) at the location where the inner contact portion 13M is arranged is elastically deformed toward the outside in the inner and outer directions (toward the upper side in the vertical direction). As a result, the inner contact portion 13M can avoid excessively strong contact with the upper end surface (outer peripheral surface) of the housing body 11A.
[0032] like Figure 8 As shown in the figure, in the state where the front stopper 13 is mounted on the housing body 11A, the detection portion 13H of the front stopper 13 is arranged along the lower surface of the front end portion of the lance 11E. Thus, the detection portion 13H restricts the lance 11E from bending downward, and the female terminal part 30 arranged in the cavity 11C is held in a state of preventing it from coming out. In addition, in the state where the front stopper 13 is mounted on the housing body 11A, the partition wall 13J (not shown) is inserted from the front to each groove portion 11F of the housing body 11A.
[0033] The second housing 12 is mounted from the front to the first housing 11 to which the female terminal fittings 30 and the front stopper 13 are mounted. At this time, the posture of the second housing 12 is adjusted so that the cover portion 12B faces the housing body 11A and the lock portion 12C faces the lock arm 11K. When the second housing 12 is mounted to the first housing 11 in this posture, each of the outer contact portions 13G and 13L contacts the inner peripheral surface of the cover portion 12B as a part of the peripheral wall portion 13B.
[0034] At this time, if Fig.10As shown, the outer contact portion 13G provided on the upper wall of the peripheral wall portion 13B is pressed downward by the upper wall of the cover portion 12B and is slightly flattened. At this time, the inner contact portion 13M is also slightly flattened. Then, the peripheral wall portion 13B at the portion where the outer contact portion 13G provided on the upper wall of the peripheral wall portion 13B is arranged is elastically deformed toward the inside of the inside-outside direction (toward the bottom of the up-down direction). Therefore, the two sides of the peripheral wall portion 13B (displacement portion 13K) between the two slit portions 13E sandwiching the recessed portion 13D are bent upward, and the central portion of the peripheral direction is bent downward. As a result, in the front stopper 13, the inner contact portion 13M can be prevented from contacting the outer peripheral surface of the housing body 11A too strongly, and the outer contact portion 13G can be prevented from contacting the inner peripheral surface of the cover portion 12B too strongly.
[0035] In a state where the second housing 12 is fitted into the first housing 11 to which the female terminal parts 30 and the front stopper 13 are mounted, Figure 8 As shown, the cover portion 12B is inserted into the fitting space 11D of the first housing 11 from the front of the first housing 11. Then, the locking portion 12C is locked to the locking arm 11K of the first housing 11. And the protruding piece 32A of the male terminal part 32 is inserted into the box part 30A from the front of the female terminal part 30. The cover portion 12B of the second housing 12 is fitted so as to surround the outer peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion 13B of the front stopper 13. The housing body 11A and the front stopper 13 are accommodated in the cover portion 12B of the second housing 12.
[0036] Next, the operation of the first embodiment will be described. The connector 10 of the present disclosure includes a female terminal fitting 30, a first housing 11 that accommodates the female terminal fitting 30, and a front stopper 13 that is mounted on the housing body 11A of the first housing 11 and locks the female terminal fitting 30. The front stopper 13 includes a front wall portion 13A disposed on the front surface side of the housing body 11A of the first housing 11, and a peripheral wall portion 13B that extends rearward from the outer edge of the front wall portion 13A and surrounds the outer peripheral surface of the housing body 11A. The outer peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion 13B is surrounded by the cover portion 12B of the second housing 12. The peripheral wall portion 13B includes an outer contact portion 13G that is a part of the outer peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion 13B and contacts the inner peripheral surface of the cover portion 12B, and an inner contact portion 13M that is a part of the inner peripheral surface and contacts the outer peripheral surface of the housing body 11A. The front stopper 13 includes a displacement allowing portion 13F that allows the peripheral wall portion 13B to be elastically displaced in the inner and outer directions. In the circumferential direction of the peripheral wall portion 13B, the inner contact portions 13M are arranged on both sides sandwiching one displacement allowing portion 13F, and the outer contact portion 13G is arranged outside between the pair of inner contact portions 13M (within the formation range of one displacement allowing portion 13F in the circumferential direction).
[0037] According to this structure, since the peripheral wall portion 13B corresponding to the formation position of the outer contact portion 13G and the inner contact portion 13M in the peripheral wall portion 13B can be elastically displaced in the up-down direction (inside-outside direction) via the displacement allowing portion 13F, the inner contact portion 13M can be prevented from excessively strongly contacting the housing body 11A when the front stopper 13 is assembled to the first housing 11. In addition, the presence of the displacement allowing portion 13F can reduce the movement resistance, thereby preventing the front stopper 13 from being stopped in the middle of movement by mistake.
[0038] In the connector 10 of the present disclosure, a pair of inner contact portions 13M located at both ends of the recessed portion 13D sandwich one displacement allowing portion 13F in the circumferential direction, and the outer contact portion 13G is arranged at a position corresponding to the circumferential center of the pair of inner contact portions 13M. According to this structure, the circumferential wall portion 13B (displacement portion 13K) corresponding to the formation position of the outer contact portion 13G and the inner contact portion 13M in the circumferential wall portion 13B can be uniformly bent in the circumferential direction.
[0039] In the connector 10 of the present disclosure, the outer contact portion 13G is shaped to protrude outward from the outer peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion 13B, and the inner contact portion 13M is shaped to protrude inward from the inner peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion 13B. According to this structure, the contact position with the other side (housing body 11A, cover portion 12B) can be clearly identified.
[0040] In the connector 10 of the present disclosure, the displacement allowing portion 13F is a recessed portion 13D formed in a rearwardly recessed manner at a portion connected to the peripheral wall portion 13B on the outer edge side of the front wall portion 13A. According to this structure, the front end portion (a portion) of the peripheral wall portion 13B can be easily elastically deformed in the up-down direction (inside-outside direction). As a result, the outer contact portion 13G and the inner contact portion 13M can also be easily elastically deformed in the up-down direction (inside-outside direction) together with the front end portion of the peripheral wall portion 13B.
[0041] In the connector 10 of the present disclosure, in the circumferential direction, a pair of inner contact portions 13M sandwich the displacement allowing portion 13F, and the peripheral wall portion 13B has a slit portion 13E formed at a position that is paired with the pair of inner contact portions 13M sandwiched therebetween. According to this structure, since a portion of the peripheral wall portion 13B (displacement portion 13K) at a location where the outer contact portion 13G and the inner contact portion 13M are arranged can be shaped as a cantilever extending forward, the front end portion (displacement portion 13K) of the peripheral wall portion 13B can be more easily elastically deformed in the up-down direction (inside-outside direction).
[0042] [Other embodiments of the present disclosure] The present disclosure is not limited to the above-described embodiment 1 and the drawings. The present invention includes all modifications within the meaning equivalent to the claims and the scope of the claims, and also includes the following embodiments.
[0043] You can also Fig.11 As shown in FIG. 1 , the rear side of the partition wall 113J where the recessed portion 13D is arranged is cut. With this structure, the peripheral wall portion 13B at the location where the recessed portion 13D is arranged can be easily bent.
