Description

[0001] Related Applications

[0002] This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 63 / 579,320 filed on August 29, 2023, the entire contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference into this disclosure. Technical Field

[0003] The present disclosure relates generally to pools, including apparatus, systems, and methods for pool frames, including for mountable or portable pools. Background Art

[0004] The pool frame supports the pool liner, which holds a defined volume of water, and the pool frame bears the weight of the water and liner to provide support to hold the water. An advantage of above ground pools is that the cost and effort involved in excavating or otherwise carving out a pool space is avoided. Additionally, an above ground pool has the advantage of being installed in locations where excavation is impractical or impossible. The frame is heavy and difficult to transport efficiently. Therefore, it is desirable to have a pool frame that is easy to install, can withstand the weight of water, is efficient to install, and is reusable.

[0005] Ideally, a pool liner holds a defined volume of water, bears the weight of the water and does not leak. An above ground pool has the advantage of avoiding the cost and effort involved in excavating or otherwise carving out a pool space. In addition, an above ground pool has the advantage of being installed in locations where excavation is not feasible or possible.

[0006] The frame and liner can be installed as an interwoven unit. When constructing the pool, one or more frame members can be tied through one or more sleeves in the liner. During disassembly for maintenance or moving the pool, the frame members can be disconnected as a part or individually to remove the frame members from the sleeves. At a different location, the frame members can be reconnected and tied through one or more sleeves in the liner.

[0007] Challenges faced by pool frames include corrosion of components due to environmental factors and chlorinated water. Current component designs exacerbate corrosion problems and are difficult to install, requiring some components that are difficult for the user to fit together. An improved pool frame using a sleeve as described herein reduces or eliminates corrosion problems. An improved pool frame using a sleeve as described herein prevents fittings and beams from rubbing or scratching against each other, which may result in metal being exposed to water, causing corrosion problems. Summary of the invention

[0008] The use of sleeves provides a barrier to minimize or prevent water from flowing within the metal frame and resting on the metal, causing rust or corrosion over time. The improved pool frame using sleeves as described herein also provides easy installation for the user or consumer because the sleeves act as fasteners around the joints, securing the fittings to the beams by guiding the beams through the fittings.
