The display screen 11 is rectangular and has an upper end 11a, a lower end 11b, and two side ends 11c, 11c. The upper end 11a of the display screen 11 is located near the upper end 12a of the housing 12, the lower end 11b of the display screen 11 is located near the lower end 12b of the housing 12, and the two side ends 11c, 11c of the display screen 11 are located near the two side ends 12c, 12c of the housing 12.

[0039] The rectangular area of the display screen 11 surrounded by the upper end 11a, the lower end 11b and the two side ends 11c, 11c forms a continuous screen. The display screen 11 can display an image that is unified by all pixels arranged in the entire area of the screen, or it can divide the display screen 11 into a specified number of pixel groups, each pixel group constitutes a screen unit, and display different images for each screen unit. In addition, a plurality of display screens that perform display operations independently of each other can be set on the surface of the display unit 10 facing backward (Z2 direction), and a strip-shaped non-display area is formed in the middle of adjacent display screens. For example, the upper display screen and the lower display screen can be set separately.

[0040] exist Figures 4 to 8 FIG. 2 shows a moving mechanism 20 disposed inside the panel 2. The moving mechanism 20 uses a motor M as a power source, and the display unit 10 is moved by the moving mechanism 20. Figure 2 and Figure 7 The upper limit position shown is the same as Figure 3 and Figure 8Move between the lower limit positions shown.

[0041] like Figure 4 and Figure 5 As shown, as the components of the movable side of the moving mechanism 20, a pair of movable cam portions 22 protruding forward (in the Z1 direction) from the left and right side portions of the housing 12 and a movable support portion 21 protruding forward from a position located in the middle of the two movable cam portions 22 on the left and right are integrally formed in the display unit 10. The movable support portion 21 and the movable cam portion 22 are formed integrally with the housing 12 from a synthetic resin material or a light metal material. Figure 6 As shown, a movable cam hole 23 is formed in each movable cam portion 22. The movable cam hole 23 has a curved portion in the middle and extends continuously from the upper end portion 12a of the housing 12 toward the lower end portion 12b.

[0042] like Figure 4 and Figure 6 As shown, in the moving mechanism 20, a fixed bracket 24 is provided as a component of the fixed side. The fixed bracket 24 is formed of a metal plate and fixed to the inside of a panel 2 that constitutes a part of an instrument panel or the like. A pair of fixed support portions 25 that are bent backward (in the Z2 direction) from the left and right side portions are integrally formed on the fixed bracket 24. A fixed sliding shaft 26 is fixed to the rear end portion of each fixed support portion 25, and each fixed sliding shaft 26 is slidably inserted into the movable cam hole 23. A fixed cam portion 27 is fixed to the middle position of the left and right fixed support portions 25 of the fixed bracket 24. As shown in FIG. Figure 5 and Figure 6 As shown, the fixed cam portion 27 is formed with a fixed cam hole 28 and a rack portion 29. The fixed cam hole 28 has a curved portion in the middle and extends continuously in the up-down direction. The rack portion 29 is formed with fixed teeth arranged in a manner similar to the fixed cam hole 28.

[0043] The moving mechanism 20 is provided with a driving mechanism 30 having a motor M serving as a power source. Figure 5 As shown, a gear bracket 31 is provided in the driving mechanism 30, and the motor M is fixed to the gear bracket 31. A main shaft 32 is provided in the gear bracket 31, and the gear bracket 31 is rotatably supported on the main shaft 32. A movable sliding shaft 33 is fixed to the front part of the movable support part 21 formed integrally with the housing 12 of the display unit 10, and the movable sliding shaft 33 is slidably inserted into the fixed cam hole 28. A connecting hole 33a is formed in the movable sliding shaft 33, and the main shaft 32 is inserted and fixed to the connecting hole 33a. The connecting hole 33a is an internal thread, and the main shaft 32 is an external thread, and the main shaft 32 is screwed and fixed to the connecting hole 33a. Alternatively, the main shaft 32 can also be pressed into the connecting hole 33a.

[0044] like Figure 5As shown, the movable support part 21 and the driving mechanism 30 are located across the fixed cam part 27, and the movable support part 21 and the driving mechanism 30 are connected via a movable sliding shaft 33 that penetrates the fixed cam hole 28. The driving mechanism 30 as a whole is freely rotatable with the main shaft 32 connected to the movable sliding shaft 33 as a fulcrum. The sliding sub-shaft 34 is fixed to the gear bracket 31, and the sliding sub-shaft 34 is inserted into the fixed cam hole 28. The movable sliding shaft 33 connected to the main shaft 32 and the sliding sub-shaft 34 slide in the fixed cam hole 28, so that the driving mechanism 30 changes its posture in accordance with the change of the trajectory of the fixed cam hole 28, and moves in the vertical direction together with the movable support part 21. In the moving mechanism 20, the movable cam hole 23, the fixed sliding shaft 26, the fixed cam hole 28, and the movable sliding shaft 33 constitute a cam guide mechanism that guides the display unit 10 upward and downward relative to the fixed side.

[0045] like Figure 5 As shown, in the drive mechanism 30, a worm gear 37 is fixed to the output shaft of the motor M fixed to the gear bracket 31, and the worm gear 37 meshes with a pinion gear 36 rotatably supported on the gear bracket 31. A planetary gear 35 is rotatably supported on the main shaft 32 rotatably supported on the gear bracket 31, and the rotation output of the worm gear 37 is reduced via the pinion gear 36 and provided to the planetary gear 35. Figure 6 As shown, the planetary gear 35 meshes with the rack portion 29 formed on the fixed cam portion 27. The rack portion 29 constitutes a part of the drive mechanism 30.

[0046] Next, the display operation of the vehicle-mounted display device 1 will be described.

[0047] When the motor M of the driving mechanism 30 of the vehicle-mounted display device 10 is started, its rotational power is decelerated and provided to the planetary gear 35. The planetary gear 35 meshes with the rack portion 29 formed on the fixed cam portion 27 and rotates, thereby applying a moving force to the display unit 10. The movable sliding shaft 33 provided in the movable support portion 21 slides in the fixed cam hole 28 formed in the fixed cam portion 27, and the movable cam holes 23 formed in the pair of movable cam portions 22 slide on the fixed sliding shaft 26 provided in the fixed support portion 25, thereby changing the posture of the display unit 10 while moving. Figure 2 and Figure 7 The upper limit position shown is the same as Figure 3 and Figure 8 In addition, the display unit 10 can be stopped at any position between the upper limit position and the lower limit position.

[0048] Figure 1 and Figure 6The use state shown stops at a neutral position where the display unit 10 moves slightly downward from the upper limit. In the use state in the neutral position, a part of the display screen 11 provided on the display unit 10 protrudes upward from the upper opening portion (first opening portion) 3, and a part of the display screen 11 protrudes downward from the lower opening portion (second opening portion) 4. The display area of the display screen 11 exposed from the lower opening portion 4 is slightly larger than the display area of the display screen 11 exposed from the upper opening portion 3. In the use state in the neutral position, a relatively small amount of information is displayed, such as a guide arrow for right turn or left turn, a driving speed display, or a warning display, in the area exposed from the upper opening portion 3 of the display screen 11. For example, in the area exposed from the lower opening portion 4, a display that does not require the driver to frequently view, such as a display of the operating unit of an audio device or a display of the operating unit of an air conditioner, a display of the operating status of the air conditioner, etc., is displayed.

[0049] from Figure 1 and Figure 6 In the neutral position shown in FIG. 1 , the motor M of the drive mechanism 30 is activated to move the display unit 10 upward (U direction) or downward (D direction) to any position and stop, thereby making it possible to change the display area exposed from the upper opening 3 of the display screen 11 and the display area exposed from the lower opening 4 to any size. With the change of the display area, the display of the display screen 11 is switched to the size corresponding to the display area. Figure 1 and Figure 6 The information shown varies depending on the usage status.

[0050] When the display unit 10 is Figure 1 and Figure 6 When the neutral position shown in the usage state moves upward (U direction) to the upper limit position and stops, it is set to Figure 2 and Figure 7 In the upper limit position, the display area of the display screen 11 exposed from the upper opening 3 is smaller than that of the display screen 11. Figure 1 and Figure 6 The neutral usage state shown in the figure increases, while the display area of the display screen 11 exposed from the lower opening 4 is reduced compared to the neutral usage state. In the usage state of the upper limit position, the display area exposed from the upper opening 3 in the display screen 11 displays the guidance map screen when the car navigation system is in operation or the driving information of the car, such as the operation information of the automatic driving system, the charging information of the electric car, etc. The display area exposed from the lower opening 4 in the display screen 11 displays the operation part of the audio device, the operation part of the air conditioner, the operation status of the air conditioner, etc., which do not need to be frequently viewed by the driver.

[0051] When the display unit 10 is Figure 1 and Figure 6When the neutral position shown is moved downward (in the D direction) to the lower limit position and stops, the setting is Figure 3 and Figure 8 In the lower limit position, part or all of the display screen 11 is exposed only from the lower opening 4, and the display screen 11 is not exposed from the upper opening 3. Figure 6 The neutral position shown and Figure 7 When the upper limit position shown is stopped, the rising angle θ1 of the display screen 11 from the horizontal plane is the same. Figure 8 When the display screen 11 stops at the lower limit position, the rising angle θ2 of the display screen 11 from the horizontal plane is smaller than the above-mentioned angle θ1. Figure 3 As shown, the display screen 11 is facing upward in a posture close to a horizontal posture. In the use state of the lower limit position, for example, information suitable for parking is displayed. For example, it is a keyboard display for information input, an information display for accessing a computer mounted on the vehicle and performing self-diagnosis, an operation unit display, a TV display, a video display, etc.

[0052] exist Fig. 9 In the in-vehicle display device 101 of the second embodiment shown in the figure, the cam guide mechanism of the moving mechanism 20 extends upward more than the cam guide mechanism of the first embodiment, and the display unit 10 can be moved from Figure 2 and Figure 7 The upper limit position of the first embodiment shown is located further upward. Fig. 9 In the upper limit position of the display unit 10 shown, part or all of the display screen 11 protrudes only from the upper opening 3, and the display screen does not protrude from the lower opening 4. The substantially entire area of the display screen 11 protruding upward from the upper opening 3 can be used as a display area, for example, a TV image can be displayed when the vehicle is parked, or a video image can be displayed. In addition, when the upper opening 3 is located at a relatively low position and the display screen 11 protruding upward is not likely to obstruct the driver's field of vision, the guide map of the navigation device can also be displayed as a larger screen on the display screen 11.

[0053] The vehicle-mounted display device 1, 101 of the above-described embodiment can stop the display unit 10 at a position where a portion of the display screen 11 protrudes from both the upper opening 3 and the lower opening 4, and in this state, can change the exposed area of the display screen 11 from the upper opening 3 and the exposed area of the display screen 11 from the lower opening 4. In one display unit 10, it is possible to realize an upper display image and a lower display image, so that various displays can be realized by one display unit 10 and one image processing circuit.

[0054] In addition, the vehicle-mounted display device 1, 101 of the above-mentioned embodiment can stop the above-mentioned display unit 10 moved by the moving mechanism 20 at a position where at least a part of the display screen 11 protrudes from the upper opening portion (first opening portion) 3 and at a position where at least a part of the display screen 11 protrudes from the lower opening portion (second opening portion). In addition, the display screen 11 can be stopped at a position where it is exposed only from the upper opening portion 3 and at a position where it is exposed only from the lower opening portion 4. Since the display screen 11 of one display unit 10 can be set to a state where it is exposed from the upper opening portion 3 and a state where it is exposed from the lower opening portion 4, various displays corresponding to the purpose can be performed at the upper and lower parts even if different display units are not arranged at the upper and lower parts.

[0055] like Figure 1 and Fig. 9 As shown, in the vehicle-mounted display device 1, 101 of the above-mentioned embodiment, no components are arranged in the middle area PF between the upper opening 3 and the lower opening 4 of the panel 2, and in the middle area PF and the areas to the left and right thereof, the surface of the instrument panel or the instrument panel has a left-right continuous appearance. Although the display screen 11 is presented at the top and the bottom, the panel 2 has a left-right continuous appearance, so that the front of the vehicle cabin can be set as a simple and highly designed decoration.

[0056] However, it is also possible to provide an operation unit and a display unit in the intermediate region PF of the panel 2 as in the vehicle-mounted display devices 201 and 301 of the third and fourth embodiments. Fig.10 In the vehicle-mounted display device 201 of the third embodiment shown, an operation unit 40 is provided in the intermediate region PF between the upper opening 3 and the lower opening 4 of the panel 2. The operation unit 40 is provided with a plurality of operation buttons 41. Fig.11 1 shows a cross-sectional view of the operation portion 40. The operation button 41 includes an operation contact portion 42 for contact with a human finger F and an action opposing portion 43 opposed to the display screen 11. The operation contact portion 42 and the action opposing portion 43 are conductive, and a conductive path is provided in the operation button 41 to connect the operation contact portion 42 and the action opposing portion 43. A bracket portion 45 is formed inside the middle area PF of the panel 2, and the operation button 41 is held in the bracket portion 45 so as to be able to move forward and backward. A spring member 44 is provided inside the bracket portion 45 to bias the operation button 41 in a direction to protrude from the surface of the panel 2.

[0057] In the display screen 11 of the display unit 10, an electrostatic capacitance sensor is provided on the inner surface of the surface plate of the display panel. The electrostatic capacitance sensor is provided with a plurality of transparent electrodes on the inner surface of the surface plate. When a human finger F approaches or touches, the change of mutual capacitance and self-capacitance is detected to determine the coordinate position where the finger F approaches or touches. Fig.11As shown, when the display unit 10 moves up and down and stops at any position, if the finger F contacts the operation contact portion 42 of the operation button 41, the action opposing portion 43 becomes substantially the same ground potential as the finger F. By detecting the change in capacitance by the electrostatic capacitance sensor provided on the display screen 11, it is possible to identify which operation button 41 the finger F contacts. Furthermore, when the operation button 41 is pressed with the finger F in contact with the operation contact portion 42, the action opposing portion 43 contacts the surface of the display screen 11, and the mutual capacitance and self-capacitance of the sensor further change. By detecting this operation, it can be identified as an input operation, for example. In addition, it is also possible not to determine that it is an operation input when the finger F contacts the operation contact portion 42, but to determine that it is an operation input only when the operation button 41 is pressed with the finger F in contact with the operation contact portion 42 so that the action opposing portion 43 contacts the surface of the display screen 11.

[0058] exist Fig.12 In the vehicle-mounted display device 301 of the fourth embodiment shown, a display unit 48 is fixedly provided in the middle area PF of the panel 2. The display unit 48 is a liquid crystal display panel or an electroluminescent display panel. In the vehicle-mounted display device 301, even when the protruding size of the display unit 10 from the upper opening 3 is reduced to ensure a larger driving field of view in front, it is possible to display an image in a larger area through a part of the display screen 11 exposed from the upper opening 3, a part of the display screen 11 exposed from the lower opening 4, and the fixed display unit 48.

[0059] In addition, in the display device of the present invention, the first opening and the second opening may be opened in a panel such as an instrument panel or a sub-instrument panel at intervals in the left-right direction, and the display screen of the display unit may protrude in the left and right directions from each opening. In addition, the display device is not limited to vehicle-mounted use, and may also be used at home, in a theater, etc.
