Abstract

The invention discloses a method and system for calculating the gas content of a shale reservoir. The method comprises the steps that a sampling scheme of a to-be-drilled target well section is determined; collecting flowback rock debris according to the sampling scheme, and packaging the flowback rock debris to enable the flowback rock debris to form a rock debris deflation process in the sealed space; measuring the carbon isotope and component content of the top gas of the rock debris filling according to different time for each filling sample; and calculating the shale reservoir gas content of the current well section according to the rock debris top gas carbon isotope and component content under different time sequences. According to the method, the timeliness of obtaining the gas content parameters of the shale reservoir is improved, and the shale reservoir can be evaluated in real time in the while-drilling process.
