DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0037] The following description is merely exemplary in nature and is not intended to limit the present disclosure, application, or use.

[0038] Referring now to the drawings, there will be described a new and improved apparatus for dispensing a liquid product embodying the principles and concepts of the present invention and generally designated by the reference numeral 1.

[0039] Referring Figure 1 , there is shown an apparatus 1 for dispensing a liquid product according to an exemplary embodiment of the present application. The apparatus 1 is grasped by a user to allow the user to perform a massage of the scalp and apply a liquid product to be treated to the scalp using at least one massage element. The massage element is, for example, a ball or sphere applied to the body surface of the user. In one example, the massage element is the nozzle 51 of the applicator 5. In Figure 1-2 Another example shown, the massage element is a massage head 6 nested on the applicator 5. In one example, the massage head 6 includes a plurality of massage protrusions 61 corresponding to the number of the plurality of nozzles 51, and the massage protrusions 61 are made of an elastomeric material and have a spherical or elliptical shape. In one example, the massage protrusions 61 and / or the massage head are made of a TPE material, and preferably, the TPE material has a Shore hardness with an A scale. In another example, the massage protrusions 61 may be made of a material selected from the group consisting of TPE, elastomeric plastics, PU (polyurethane), and silicone rubber. In one example, the Shore hardness of the massage protrusions 61 is between 20 and 90. In one example, the applicator and / or the nozzle are made of PP and TPE by a double injection molding process. In this case, the apparatus 1 for dispensing a liquid product will provide a comfortable soft massage feeling for the consumer.

[0040] In an exemplary embodiment of the present application, the container 2 can be squeezed to facilitate the outflow of the liquid product when in the open position. Further, a plurality of nozzles 51 are preferred over only one nozzle because for each nozzle, the fluid product is dispensed more uniformly in a reduced volume.

[0041] In the present application, the apparatus for dispensing a liquid product includes a scalp massage applicator, and the applicator has 3 to 5 nozzles. Since the scalp massage applicator employs a soft material (TPE / elastomer / PU material) having a double injection technique, the apparatus for dispensing a liquid product will provide correct formulation delivery as well as a massage function. Further, the applicator will be easy to move on the scalp because it has 4 nozzles for formulation delivery and a soft elastomer for the massage function on the scalp. Due to the soft touch of the massage applicator, the applicator will help improve blood circulation in the scalp.

[0042] The apparatus 1 for dispensing a liquid product includes an external threaded cap 3 which is designed to be mounted onto the container 2. In particular, in one example, as Figure 4 ,4A As shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, the external threaded cap 3 includes a cap body 31 having a skirt portion 312 for fixing to the opening of the container and a top plate 311 formed at the top of the skirt portion 312. In addition, the external threaded cap 3 includes a neck ring 32 axially extending from the top plate 311 in a direction opposite to the skirt portion 312, and the neck ring 32 forms the portion of the external threaded cap 3 for engaging with the inner cap 4. As Figure 6-7 shown, the skirt portion 312 has an internal thread on its inner circumferential surface, and the skirt portion 312 is fastened to the opening of the container by this internal thread.

[0043] Reference Figure 5 and continuing to refer to Figure 2 and 6 -7, the device 1 for dispensing a liquid product further includes an inner cap 4 which can engage with the said external threaded cap 3 and can be moved thereon from an open position to a closed position. In the open position, the liquid product is dispensed from the container 2, and in the closed position, the liquid product is prevented from flowing out. In an exemplary embodiment of the present application, as Figure 4-5 shown and particularly as Figure 4A shown, a channel 321 is formed on the outer circumferential surface of the neck ring 32 of the external threaded cap 3 and preferably in the middle of the outer circumferential surface of the neck ring 32, and a slider 413 is formed on the inner cap 4, and during the rotation of the inner cap 4 relative to the external threaded cap 3 between the open position and the closed position, the slider 413 slides along the channel 321, and during the rotation towards the open position, the inner cap 4 will move axially away from the said external threaded cap 3. In one example, the inner cap 4 and / or the external threaded cap 3 are made of PP material by an injection molding process.

[0044] In an exemplary embodiment as Figure 5 shown, the inner cap 4 includes an outer peripheral skirt portion 41 and a base portion 40, and the base portion is formed at the top end of the outer peripheral skirt portion 41 to be similar to a top plate or a top board. The slider 413 extends radially inwards from the inner circumferential surface of the outer peripheral skirt portion 41, and during the rotation of the inner cap 4 relative to the external threaded cap 3, the slider 413 will slide within the channel 321 of the external threaded cap 3.

[0045] Thus, the present application uses a simple inner / outer sliding system to achieve the opening and closing of the device 1 for dispensing a liquid product. The inner / outer sliding system may also be referred to as an on / off system, and it will have a simple rotational gesture and will achieve multiple functions (e.g., closing / opening / formula delivery). In addition, the on / off system also includes a formula delivery function, and it will provide formula delivery until it is close to the scalp for blood circulation. Due to the soft massage applicator, the reason for the consumer to press the applicator during massage and formula delivery is to apply a pressing force. Providing scalp blood circulation will be more helpful during the application of the formula to the scalp. In addition, the soft massage protrusions 61 in the shape of a sphere or an ellipse made of an elastomeric material will provide a comfortable feeling for the consumer, so the consumer will enjoy the functional beneficial effects of the liquid scalp / hair composition on scalp health.

[0046] In addition, the device 1 for dispensing a liquid product includes an applicator 5. In Figure 3 one exemplary embodiment as shown, the applicator 5 includes an outer skirt 52 and a plurality of nozzles 51. In one exemplary embodiment, the outer skirt 52 includes a pair of axially extending ribs 521 formed on the inner peripheral surface of the outer skirt 52. In one exemplary embodiment, the outer skirt 52 further includes a circumferential lip 522 on its inner peripheral surface, and the circumferential lip 522 is interrupted at the position where the pair of axially extending ribs 521 are located. In Figure 3 one exemplary embodiment as shown, the outer peripheral skirt 41 of the inner cap 4 includes a pair of axially extending ridges 411, whose positions correspond to the pair of axially extending ribs 521 of the applicator 5. The pair of axially extending ridges 411 will abut against the pair of axially extending ribs 521 during operation to prevent the applicator 5 from rotating relative to the inner cap 4. In one exemplary embodiment, the inner cap 4 includes a circumferential edge 412 on its outer peripheral surface, and when the applicator 5 is coupled to the inner cap 4, the circumferential lip 522 of the applicator 5 will slide on the circumferential edge 412 of the inner cap 4 to prevent the applicator 5 from moving axially away from the inner cap 4. Thus, the rotation or axial movement of the applicator 5 relative to the inner cap 4 is restricted. In other words, by means of the respective axially extending ribs, ridges, and circumferential edges and lips on the applicator 5 and the inner cap 4, the applicator 5 is coupled to the inner cap 4 without any movement. Thus, the applicator 5 and the inner cap 4 are formed as if they are integral parts, making the device 1 for dispensing a liquid product more convenient to use.

[0047] In Figure 4-5In an exemplary embodiment shown, a stop member 35 in the external thread cover 3 axially extends from the top plate 311 of the external thread cover 3, and an inner peripheral skirt 42 axially extends from the base 40 of the inner cover 4 and is coaxial with the outer peripheral skirt 41 on the inner cover 4, and a corresponding stop member 44 in the inner cover 4 axially extends from the base 40 and radially extends from the outer periphery of the inner peripheral skirt 42, and when the inner cover 4 rotates to the closed position, the corresponding stop member 44 will abut against the stop member 35 with a distinct click or audible sound.

[0048] Thus, the present application combines a simple inner / outer sliding system with corresponding stop members that produce a click or audible sound, which can remind the user that the device has reached the closed position and that there is no fluid product flowing out at this closed position.

[0049] In an exemplary embodiment, continuing to refer to Figure 4-5 , the external thread cover 3 includes a curved axial groove 310 formed on the top plate 311, and the curved axial groove 310 is coaxial with the neck ring 32, and the depth of the groove varies in the axial direction A. The inner cover 4 includes a cantilever 421 axially extending from the inner peripheral skirt 42. During the rotation of the inner cover 4 relative to the external thread cover 3, the cantilever 421 will slide within the curved axial groove 310, accompanied by the sliding member 413 sliding within the channel 321.

[0050] Referring to Figure 6-7 and continuing to refer to Figure 4-5 , in an exemplary embodiment, the neck ring 32 includes at least one and preferably two axial slots 322 at each end of the channel 321, and when the inner cover 4 rotates to the open position or the closed position, the sliding member 413 will correspondingly slide into one of the two axial slots 322. Thus, when the device for dispensing a liquid product is in the open position or the closed position, the user will receive a tactile feedback because the sliding member slides into the axial slot 322 that is deeper than the channel 321.

[0051] In an exemplary embodiment, the neck ring 32 includes two or four axial slots 322 spaced apart on its circumference, and two channels 321 are formed diagonally on the outer peripheral surface of the neck ring 32, and two sliding members 413 are formed diagonally on the inner cover 4, such that the inner cover 4 rotates approximately 90 degrees to 180 degrees from the closed position to the open position. This 90 - 180 degree rotation will facilitate easier operation of the device, and even the user can operate the device with one hand.

[0052] In addition, the diagonally symmetric arrangement of the slider and the channel provides more precise movement or rotation during the operation of the device, which promotes perfect guidance to the open position. In one example, four axial slots 322 are equidistantly spaced apart at the circumference of the neck ring 32, and the inner cap 4 preferably rotates approximately 90 degrees from the closed position to the open position.

[0053] In one exemplary embodiment, with continued reference to Figure 4-7 , the inner cap 4 and the externally threaded cap 3 respectively include a recess 43 and a complementary recess 33. The recess 43 extends axially from the base 40 and is coaxial with the outer peripheral skirt 41 of the inner cap 4. The complementary recess 33 extends axially from the top plate 311 and is coaxial with the neck ring 32 on the externally threaded cap 3. In one example, a post 34 extends axially from the top plate 311 and is located at the center of the complementary recess 33. In one example, when the inner cap 4 is in the closed position as shown in Figure 6 , the post 34 abuts against the inner peripheral surface of the recess 43 to prevent the liquid product from flowing out; when the inner cap 4 is in the open position as shown in Figure 7 , the liquid product will pass between the post 34 and the recess 43 and flow out, as shown in Figure 7 .

[0054] In one exemplary embodiment, as shown in Figure 4 and 6 , the post 34 is formed with an upright dome 341 at its free end, and when the inner cap 4 is in the closed position as shown in Figure 6 , the upright dome 341 abuts against the inner peripheral surface of the recess 43 to seal the passage for the fluid product.

[0055] In one exemplary embodiment, as shown in Figure 4 and 5 , a hole 340 is formed in the top plate 311 and is located between the outer peripheral surface of the post 34 and the inner peripheral surface of the complementary recess 33, while an opening 430 is formed in the base 40 and is located within the recess 43. In one exemplary embodiment, the upright dome 341 engages cooperatively with the recess 43 to block the opening 430 when the inner cap 4 is in the closed position as shown in Figure 6 .

[0056] In one exemplary embodiment, as shown in Figure 7 , the neck ring 32 has a circumferential edge 324 on its outer peripheral surface, and the outer peripheral skirt 41 has a corresponding circumferential edge 414 on its inner peripheral surface for engaging with the circumferential edge 324 to prevent the inner cap 4 from moving axially away from the externally threaded cap 3.

[0057] In one exemplary embodiment, as shown in Figure 4As shown, the neck ring 32 has one or more reinforcing ribs 323 that axially extend on the inner peripheral surface of the neck ring 32 at positions corresponding to the channels 321. In this way, damage to the channels 321 or the neck ring 32 after multiple opening and closing of the device is avoided because the reinforcing ribs 323 increase the stiffness or strength of the channels 321 or the neck ring 32 of the externally threaded cap 3.

[0058] In one exemplary embodiment, as Figure 6 shown, when the inner cap 4 is in the closed position, the axial distance between the lowermost end of the outer peripheral skirt 41 of the inner cap 4 and the top plate 311 of the externally threaded cap 3 is minimized, and this axial distance is shown as "d1" in Figure 6 . In comparison, as Figure 7 shown, when the inner cap 4 is in the open position, the axial distance between the lowermost end of the outer peripheral skirt 41 of the inner cap 4 and the top plate 311 of the externally threaded cap 3 is maximized, and this axial distance is shown as "d2" in Figure 7 . As an example, the range of d1 can be between 0.2 and 3 mm, and this small distance will help provide a good position between the inner cap 4 and the externally threaded cap 3. In addition, the range of d2 can be between 2.2 and 5 mm, and this small distance will help avoid any distortion when pressed in the horizontal direction. As another example, the range of "d2 - d1" can be 0.2 mm to 5 mm. In one example, d2 - d1 = 2 mm. In other words, when the inner cap 4 rotates from the Figure 6 closed position in Figure 7 to the open position in

[0059] , the inner cap 4 will lift approximately 2 mm during rotation. This axial lift will help create sufficient space or passage for the liquid product to flow out (even in bulk) for dispensing.
