[0001] The present disclosure relates to an in-vehicle display device that displays a set inter-vehicle display in inter-vehicle distance control in a host vehicle that can execute the inter-vehicle distance control that controls an inter-vehicle distance between the host vehicle and a preceding vehicle. BACKGROUND

[0002] For example, Patent Document 1 describes a device that can execute inter-vehicle distance control that controls a vehicle speed of a host vehicle to maintain a set inter-vehicle distance set between the host vehicle and a preceding vehicle. In the device, in a display, a set inter-vehicle display that indicates the set inter-vehicle distance in the inter-vehicle distance control is displayed on a front side of a host vehicle icon. Thereby, a driver of the host vehicle can grasp the set inter-vehicle distance set between the preceding vehicle and the host vehicle based on the set inter-vehicle display displayed on the front side of the host vehicle icon.

[0003] PRIOR ART DOCUMENTS

[0004] PATENT DOCUMENT

[0005] Patent Document 1: Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2021-028777

[0006] In the above-described device, sometimes the set inter-vehicle display, a division line of a travel lane, and the host vehicle icon are displayed in the display. In this case, when the host vehicle performs a lane change, the host vehicle icon also moves across the division line. Here, the inter-vehicle distance control with respect to the preceding vehicle is executed when the host vehicle is traveling within a travel line. Therefore, although the host vehicle icon crosses the division line of the travel lane, when the set inter-vehicle display of the inter-vehicle distance control is displayed on the front side of the host vehicle icon in the display, the occupant of the host vehicle sometimes feels an uncomfortable feeling.

[0007] Therefore, the present disclosure describes an in-vehicle display device that can suppress the occupant from feeling an uncomfortable feeling and displays a set inter-vehicle display with a preceding vehicle in inter-vehicle distance control. SUMMARY

[0008] One aspect of the present disclosure is [1] "A vehicle-mounted display device that displays a set inter-vehicle distance display representing a set inter-vehicle distance on a display mounted in a host vehicle capable of performing inter-vehicle distance control in which a distance between the host vehicle and a preceding vehicle is controlled to be the set inter-vehicle distance, the vehicle-mounted display device including: an action determination section that determines whether or not a lane change action is performed, the lane change action being an action in which the host vehicle changes a lane in which the host vehicle travels from a current lane to an adjacent lane; and a display control section that has a function of causing the display to display a host vehicle icon representing the host vehicle, display the set inter-vehicle distance display on a front side of the host vehicle icon, and display a division line of the lane in which the host vehicle travels, and changes a relative display position of the host vehicle icon and the division line in accordance with the lane change of the host vehicle, and in a case where the action determination section determines that the lane change action is performed, the display control section does not display the set inter-vehicle distance display until the lane change is completed."

[0009] In a case where it is determined that the host vehicle has the lane change action, the vehicle-mounted display device does not display the set inter-vehicle distance display on the display until the lane change is completed. That is, in a state where the host vehicle icon crosses the division line of the lane in which the host vehicle travels in the display, the set inter-vehicle distance display is not displayed on the front side of the host vehicle icon. Then, in a case where the lane change of the host vehicle is completed, the vehicle-mounted display device displays the set inter-vehicle distance display on the front side of the host vehicle icon. Thus, the vehicle-mounted display device can suppress a feeling of strangeness of an occupant and display the set inter-vehicle distance display in the inter-vehicle distance control with the preceding vehicle.

[0010] One aspect of the present disclosure can also be [2] "The vehicle-mounted display device according to the above-mentioned [1], wherein, in a case where the action determination section determines that the lane change action is performed, the display control section does not display the set inter-vehicle distance display until the lane change is completed even if the inter-vehicle distance control is being performed."

[0011] One aspect of the present disclosure can also be [3] "The vehicle-mounted display device according to the above-mentioned [1] or [2], wherein the lane change action includes at least any one of: an action in which the host vehicle crosses the division line; an action in which a turn signal lever of the host vehicle is operated; and an action in which lane change control that automatically performs the lane change is started."

[0012] One aspect of the present disclosure can also be [4] "The vehicle-mounted display device according to any one of the above-mentioned [1] to [3], further including: a change prohibition section that prohibits a change in the set inter-vehicle distance until the lane change is completed in a case where the action determination section determines that the lane change action is performed."

[0013] One aspect of the present disclosure can also be [5] "The in-vehicle display device according to any one of [1] to [4] described above, wherein, in a case where it is determined by the action determination section that there is the lane change action, the display control section displays a non-changeable display indicating that a change in the set inter-vehicle distance is not possible."

[0014] Effects of Invention

[0015] According to the various aspects of the present disclosure, the occupant can be inhibited from feeling a sense of strangeness, and the set inter-vehicle display with the preceding vehicle in the inter-vehicle distance control can be displayed. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0020] Hereinafter, exemplary embodiments will be described with reference to the drawings. Note that, in each drawing, the same or equivalent elements are denoted by the same reference numerals, and repetitive description will be omitted.

[0021] Figure 1 The in-vehicle display device 100 shown is a device mounted on a vehicle (hereinafter referred to as a host vehicle) such as a passenger car and a truck, and performs image display corresponding to the surrounding situation of the host vehicle. The host vehicle has a function of performing inter-vehicle distance control that controls the vehicle speed of the host vehicle in such a manner that the inter-vehicle distance between a preceding vehicle traveling in front of the host vehicle and the host vehicle becomes a set inter-vehicle distance (target inter-vehicle distance). The inter-vehicle distance control can be implemented by a driving assist function such as ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), or can be implemented by an automatic driving function including the inter-vehicle distance control. The set inter-vehicle distance in the inter-vehicle distance control is a set value that serves as a reference for vehicle speed control of the host vehicle with respect to the preceding vehicle traveling in front of the host vehicle. The in-vehicle display device 100 displays a set inter-vehicle display indicating the set inter-vehicle distance on a display 2 mounted in the host vehicle in which the inter-vehicle distance control can be executed.

[0022] The in-vehicle display device 100 is provided with a display control ECU (Electronic Control Unit) 10 that uniformly manages the device. The display control ECU 10 is an electronic control unit having a CPU (Central Processing Unit) and a storage portion. The storage portion is constituted by, for example, a ROM (Read Only Memory), a RAM (Random Access Memory), an EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory), or the like. In the display control ECU 10, various functions are realized, for example, by the CPU executing a program stored in the storage portion. The display control ECU 10 can also be constituted by a plurality of electronic units.

[0023] The display control ECU 10 is connected with an external sensor 1, a display 2, and a vehicle control ECU 20. The external sensor 1 includes at least one of a camera and a radar sensor. The camera is an imaging device that images an external situation of the host vehicle. The camera is provided, for example, on the inner side of the front window glass of the host vehicle, and images the front of the host vehicle. The camera transmits an imaged image relating to the external situation of the host vehicle to the display control ECU 10.

[0024] The radar sensor is a detection device that detects an object around the host vehicle using an electric wave (for example, a millimeter wave) or light. The radar sensor includes, for example, a millimeter wave radar or a LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging). The radar sensor transmits information of the detected object to the display control ECU 10.

[0025] The display 2 is a display device provided in the cabin of the host vehicle. The display 2 can be a center display, can be a MID (Multi Information Display), or can be a HUD (Head Up Display). The display 2 displays various information in response to a control signal from the display control ECU 10.

[0026] The vehicle control ECU 20 is an electronic unit that controls a drive assist function or an automatic driving function of the host vehicle. Here, detailed description of the drive assist function and the automatic driving function is omitted. The vehicle control ECU 20 stores a set inter-vehicle distance set by a user of the host vehicle. The user is, for example, a driver. In a case where the host vehicle is a fully automatic driving vehicle, the user does not have to be the driver, but can be an occupant. The vehicle control ECU 20 can execute inter-vehicle distance control that controls a vehicle speed in such a manner that an inter-vehicle distance between the host vehicle and a preceding vehicle becomes the set inter-vehicle distance.

[0027] Next, the functional configuration of the display control ECU 10 will be described. The display control ECU 10 functionally includes an identification section 11, an action determination section 12, a change prohibition section 13, and a display control section 14.

[0028] The identification section 11 identifies other vehicles around the host vehicle and division lines of a travel lane of a road on which the host vehicle travels, on the basis of a detection result of the external sensor 1. Here, the identification section 11 detects a preceding vehicle traveling in front of the host vehicle as the other vehicle around the host vehicle. The identification section 11 can detect the other vehicle on the basis of a detection result of a millimeter wave radar or a laser radar provided to the external sensor 1, for example. In addition, the identification section 11 can identify the division lines on the basis of an image captured by a camera provided to the external sensor 1, using a known image processing technique. The division lines of the travel lane of the road to be identified by the identification section 11 include a division line of a host lane on which the host vehicle travels and a division line of an adjacent lane adjacent to the host lane.

[0029] The action determination section 12 determines the presence or absence of a lane change action in the host vehicle. The lane change action refers to an action of changing a travel lane of the host vehicle from the host lane to the adjacent lane. The lane change action includes at least any one of the following actions: an action of the host vehicle crossing the division line; an action of a direction indicator lever of the host vehicle being operated; and start of execution of lane change control that automatically performs lane change.

[0030] The action determination section 12 can determine the presence or absence of the action of the host vehicle crossing the division line on the basis of a result of identification by the identification section 11, for example. The action determination section 12 can determine that the direction indicator lever of the host vehicle is operated on the basis of a detection result of a direction indicator switch that detects an action of the direction indicator lever, for example. The action determination section 12 can acquire a signal related to execution of the lane change control from the vehicle control ECU 20, and determine whether or not the execution of the lane change control that automatically performs lane change has started on the basis of the acquired signal, for example.

[0031] In a case where it is determined by the action determination portion 12 that there is a lane change action, the change prohibition portion 13 prohibits a change in the set inter-vehicle distance in the inter-vehicle distance control until the lane change of the host vehicle is completed. Note that the change prohibition portion 13 can determine whether the lane change is completed based on the position of the host vehicle with respect to the division line, or the like.

[0032] Here, in a state where the host vehicle is traveling, the set inter-vehicle distance in the inter-vehicle distance control can be changed by an occupant of the host vehicle even in the middle of the execution of the inter-vehicle distance control by the vehicle control ECU 20. The change prohibition portion 13 prohibits a change in the set inter-vehicle distance by instructing the vehicle control ECU 20 to prohibit a change in the set inter-vehicle distance until the lane change of the host vehicle is completed. The vehicle control ECU 20 prohibits a change in the set inter-vehicle distance until the lane change of the host vehicle is completed when it receives the instruction from the change prohibition portion 13.

[0033] The display control portion 14 has a function of causing the display 2 to display a host vehicle icon that indicates the host vehicle and a division line of a travel lane. The division line of the travel lane displayed by the display control portion 14 refers to the division line recognized by the recognition portion 11. For example, as shown in Figure 2 , the display control portion 14 causes the display 2 to display the division line KA and display the host vehicle icon VA that indicates the host vehicle. The display control portion 14 displays the host vehicle icon VA and the division line KA in a manner that becomes a view when the host vehicle and the division line are viewed from the rear and obliquely above the host vehicle.

[0034] For example, in the example shown in Figure 2 , the division line K1A that corresponds to the division line on the right side of the host lane in which the host vehicle is traveling and the division line K2A that corresponds to the division line on the left side of the host lane are displayed as the division line KA displayed on the display 2. The host lane is indicated by the area between the division line K1A and the division line K2A. Further, in the example shown in Figure 2 , the division line K10A of an adjacent lane that is adjacent to the right side of the host lane is also displayed as the division line KA displayed on the display 2. Note that the adjacent lane is indicated by the area between the division line K1A and the division line K10A.

[0035] The host vehicle sometimes performs a lane change. In this case, for example, as shown in Figure 3 , the display control portion 14 changes the relative display positions of the host vehicle icon VA and the division line KA (here, the division line K1A and the division line K2A of the host lane) as the host vehicle changes lanes. Note that in Figure 3 , a display screen example of the display 2 in a case where the host vehicle changes lanes to the adjacent lane on the right side from the state shown in Figure 2 is shown.

[0036] In Figure 3 , the dividing line KA is set to a fixed state on the screen of the display 2, and the host vehicle icon VA is moved to the right side on the screen of the display 2. However, it is not limited thereto, and it is sufficient that the host vehicle icon VA and the dividing line KA are relatively moved to show a case where the host vehicle makes a lane change.

[0037] In a case where another vehicle traveling in front of the host vehicle is detected by the recognition section 11, the display control section 14 displays an icon corresponding to the vehicle on the display 2. For example, as Figure 2 shown, in a case where a preceding vehicle traveling in the same lane as the host vehicle is recognized in front of the host vehicle, the display control section 14 displays a preceding vehicle icon VB corresponding to the preceding vehicle on the display 2.

[0038] The display control section 14 displays a set inter-vehicle display W at a position in front of the host vehicle icon VA in the display 2. The set inter-vehicle display W is a display corresponding to a set inter-vehicle distance used when the inter-vehicle distance control is performed by the vehicle control ECU 20. The display control section 14 can acquire information of the set inter-vehicle distance in the inter-vehicle distance control from the vehicle control ECU 20. The set inter-vehicle display W displays a length corresponding to the set inter-vehicle distance in front of the host vehicle icon VA. The display control section 14 displays the set inter-vehicle display W in a case where the inter-vehicle distance control is performed by the vehicle control ECU 20. Further, the display control section 14 can be a scheme in which the set inter-vehicle display W is displayed in a case where the inter-vehicle distance control is performed by the vehicle control ECU 20 and a preceding vehicle is recognized in front of the host vehicle.

[0039] In Figure 2 , as one example, a plurality of horizontal bars Wa constituting the set inter-vehicle display W are displayed in front of the host vehicle icon VA. The more the number of the horizontal bars Wa, the longer the set inter-vehicle distance between the preceding vehicle and the host vehicle in the inter-vehicle distance control is indicated. Note that the inter-vehicle distance control with respect to the preceding vehicle traveling in front of the host vehicle in the same lane as the host vehicle is performed. Therefore, as Figure 2 shown, in the display 2, the set inter-vehicle display W is displayed between the dividing line K1A and the dividing line K2A corresponding to the same lane as the host vehicle. Further, in this case, a case where the set inter-vehicle display is indicated using a plurality of horizontal bars is described as an example, but the set inter-vehicle display is not limited to be indicated using a plurality of horizontal bars (a quadrangle). The set inter-vehicle display can be indicated by display of a shape other than the plurality of horizontal bars.

[0040] Note that, in a case where it is determined by the action determination part 12 that there is a lane change action, the display control part 14 does not display the set inter-vehicle display until the lane change is completed even if the inter-vehicle distance control is being executed by the vehicle control ECU 20. That is, the vehicle control ECU 20 can continue the inter-vehicle distance control before and after the lane change even in a case where the host vehicle performs the lane change.

[0041] Thus, for example, as shown in Figure 3 , even if the situation becomes that the host vehicle icon VA crosses the division line KA as the host vehicle performs the lane change in the execution of the inter-vehicle distance control, the set inter-vehicle display W is not displayed on the display 2 until the lane change is completed. Note that the display control part 14 can determine whether the lane change is completed based on the position of the host vehicle with respect to the division line and the like.

[0042] Further, in a case where it is determined by the action determination part 12 that there is a lane change action, the display control part 14 displays a non-changeable display indicating that the change of the set inter-vehicle distance in the inter-vehicle distance control cannot be performed on the display 2. Displaying the non-changeable display on the display 2 may, for example, be displaying a text or an icon or the like indicating that the change of the set inter-vehicle distance cannot be performed on the display 2.

[0043] Note that the display control part 14 can display the non-changeable display on the display 2 in a case where the change of the set inter-vehicle distance is performed by the occupant of the host vehicle when the display of the set inter-vehicle display is not performed due to the determination that there is the lane change action. Further, the display control part 14 can display the non-changeable display and output a voice or a report sound from a speaker or the like.

[0044] Next, the flow of the display processing of the set inter-vehicle display performed in the in-vehicle display device 100 will be described using the flowchart shown in Figure 4 . Note that the processing shown in Figure 4 is started again from the start (START) after a predetermined time elapses after the processing is performed to the end (END). Further, the display control part 14 displays the host vehicle icon VA and the division line KA on the display 2. In a case where the preceding vehicle is detected, the display control part 14 displays the preceding vehicle icon VB on the display 2. Hereinafter, the display processing of the set inter-vehicle display W will be described.

[0045] As shown in Figure 4As shown, the display control section 14 determines whether the inter-vehicle distance control is being executed by the vehicle control ECU 20 (S101). In a case where the inter-vehicle distance control is not being executed (S101: No), the display control section 14 does not display the set inter-vehicle display W in the display 2 (S108). In this case, the display control section 14 displays the own vehicle icon VA and the division line KA, and the like. Then, the process ends.

[0046] In a case where the inter-vehicle distance control is being executed (S101: Yes), the action determination section 12 determines whether the lane change action in the own vehicle is being performed (S102). In a case where the lane change action is not being performed (S102: No), the display control section 14 displays the set inter-vehicle display W in the display 2 on the front side of the own vehicle icon VA (S109). Note that, as described above, the display control section 14 can also be a scheme that displays the set inter-vehicle display W in a case where the preceding vehicle is detected while the inter-vehicle distance control is being executed by the vehicle control ECU 20. Then, the process ends.

[0047] In a case where the lane change action is being performed (S102: Yes), the display control section 14 does not cause the display 2 to display the set inter-vehicle display W (S103). The change prohibition section 13 instructs the vehicle control ECU 20 to prohibit a change in the set inter-vehicle distance in the inter-vehicle distance control (S104). Thereby, the change in the set inter-vehicle distance is prohibited, for example, by the occupant. The display control section 14 displays a non-changeable display indicating that the change in the set inter-vehicle distance cannot be performed in the display 2 (S105).

[0048] The display control section 14 changes the relative display position of the own vehicle icon VA and the division line KA in the display 2 along with the lane change of the own vehicle (S106). The display control section 14 determines whether the lane change of the own vehicle is completed (S107). In a case where the lane change is not completed (S107: No), the in-vehicle display device 100 performs the process from S103. In a case where the lane change is completed (S107: Yes), the process ends.

[0049] As described above, in a case where it is determined that the own vehicle has the lane change action, the in-vehicle display device 100 does not display the set inter-vehicle display W in the display 2 until the lane change is completed. That is, in a state where the own vehicle icon VA crosses the division line KA of the travel lane in the display 2, the set inter-vehicle display W is not displayed on the front side of the own vehicle icon VA. Then, the in-vehicle display device 100 displays the set inter-vehicle display W on the front side of the own vehicle icon VA in a case where the lane change of the own vehicle is completed. Thereby, the in-vehicle display device 100 can suppress the occupant from feeling a sense of strangeness, and display the set inter-vehicle display W with the preceding vehicle in the inter-vehicle distance control.

[0050] In a case where it is determined that the host vehicle has a lane change operation, the display control section 14 does not display the set inter-vehicle display until the lane change is completed, even if the vehicle control ECU 20 is executing the inter-vehicle distance control. In this case, the inter-vehicle distance control is continued by the vehicle control ECU 20 even in a state where the set inter-vehicle display relating to the inter-vehicle distance control is not displayed on the display 2.

[0051] The operation determination section 12 determines the presence or absence of at least one of the following operations as the lane change operation: an operation in which the host vehicle crosses a dividing line; an operation in which a direction indicator lever of the host vehicle is operated; and a start of execution of the lane change control. Thereby, the operation determination section 12 can more appropriately determine the presence or absence of the lane change operation in the host vehicle.

[0052] In a state where the display 2 is not displaying the set inter-vehicle display W, an occupant of the host vehicle cannot change the set inter-vehicle distance while observing the set inter-vehicle display W. Therefore, in a case where it is determined that the host vehicle has a lane change operation and the set inter-vehicle display W is not displayed, the change prohibition section 13 prohibits a change in the set inter-vehicle distance until the lane change is completed and the set inter-vehicle display is displayed. Thereby, the in-vehicle display device 100 can prevent the set inter-vehicle distance from being set to a set inter-vehicle distance that the occupant of the host vehicle does not desire due to a change in the set inter-vehicle distance being set by the occupant in a state where the set inter-vehicle display W is not displayed.

[0053] In a case where it is determined that the host vehicle has a lane change operation, the display control section 14 displays a non-changeable display indicating that a change in the set inter-vehicle distance cannot be made on the display 2. In this case, an occupant of the host vehicle can recognize that a change in the set inter-vehicle distance cannot be made in a state where the set inter-vehicle display is not displayed.

[0054] The above describes various embodiments of the present disclosure, but the present disclosure is not limited to the above-described embodiments. For example, Figure 2 and Figure 3 The display of the host vehicle icon and the dividing line in the display 2 shown in FIGS. 1 to 5 is one example, and is not limited to a view of the host vehicle and the dividing line as viewed from the rear and obliquely above the host vehicle, for example. For example, a view (a plan view) of the host vehicle and the dividing line as viewed from above can be displayed on the display 2.
