An absorbent article (1) extending in a longitudinal direction (Y) and in a transverse direction (X) perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (Y), and wherein a thickness direction (Z) is defined perpendicular to both the longitudinal direction (X) and the transverse direction (Y), the thickness direction being an inward direction (Zi) towards a wearer when the article is worn and an outward direction (Zo) away from a wearer when the article is worn, the absorbent article comprising a front section (aSf), a back section (aSb) and a crotch section (aSc) extending in the longitudinal direction (Y) between the front section (Sf) and the back section (Sb), and comprising: a reusable outer cover (100) comprising a garment portion (150) extending at least in the front section (aSf) and the back section (aSb) of the absorbent article (1), the garment portion (150) being adapted to fit around a waist of a wearer, wherein the front section (aSf) is positioned at the abdominal side of a wearer and the back section (aSb) is positioned against the lower back of a wearer when the article is worn; and an absorbent insert (200) comprising a liquid impermeable backsheet (206), a liquid permeable topsheet (205) and an absorbent assembly (230) disposed between the backsheet (206) and the topsheet (205), the insert (200) being shaped to cover in use a predetermined portion of the pubic region and the hips of a wearer such that it comprises an inwardly side pointing towards the wearer of the topsheet (205) and an outwardly side pointing towards the garment portion (150) of the outer cover (100), wherein said insert (200) extends longitudinally between a front edge (201) and a back edge (202), and comprises longitudinal side edges (203, 204) connecting the front edge (201) and the back edge (202), and the insert (200) comprises a pair of insert leg elastics (210, 211) extending substantially along a longitudinal direction (Y) of the insert and arranged on both sides of the insert between the absorbent assembly (230) and the longitudinal side edges (203, 204) of the insert, wherein a leg elastic length (iLl) is defined along a longitudinal length of said insert leg elastics (210, 211), and wherein, in each of the front section (aSf) and the back section (aSb), a leg elastic width (iWl) is defined as a maximum transverse width across said insert leg elastics (210, 211) in said front or back section (aSf, aSb), respectively, wherein in at least one, preferably each, of the front section (aSf) and the back section (aSb) of the absorbent article, the absorbent article comprises a set of one or more attachment areas (21, 22; 41, 42) for attaching the front edge portion (201') or the back edge portion (202') of the insert to the outer cover, respectively, wherein in each attachment area an inwardly facing or outwardly facing surface area of the insert (200) is detachably attached to a surface area of the outer cover (100) via at least one surface fastening material, and wherein a transverse fastening width (aWf) is a transverse width spanned by said set of one or more attachment areas (21, 22; 41, 42) that is not less than the leg elastic width (iWl) in said front or back section (aSf, aSb), respectively, such that the front edge portion (201') or the back edge portion (202') of the insert (200) is detachably attached to the outer cover (100) in said set of attachment areas (21, 22; 41, 42), respectively, while in at least said crotch section (aSc) of the absorbent article (1), an inwardly facing side of the insert (200) forms an innermost side of the absorbent article (1) so as to be directly adjacent to the skin of the wearer when using said article.

The absorbent article (1) according to claim 1, wherein In said at least one, preferably each, of said front section (aSf) and said back section (aSb), said insert (200) comprises a pair of leg edge portions (212, 213), each leg edge portion extending longitudinally along a respective insert leg elastic member (210, 211) and laterally between said insert leg elastic member (210, 211) and a respective longitudinal side edge (203, 204) of said insert (200), so as to define a maximum lateral leg edge width (Wlp) between the insert leg elastic member (210, 211) and the respective longitudinal side edge (203, 204), said maximum lateral leg edge width (Wlp) being at least 1 cm, such as at least 2 cm.

The absorbent article (1) according to any of claims 1-2, wherein In said at least one, preferably each, of said front section (aSf) and said back section (aSb), said set of one or more attachment areas (21, 22; 41, 42) is confined to a longitudinal section of said insert (200) not spanned by said leg elastic length (iL1).
4. The absorbent article (1) according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the inward facing side of said insert (200) comprises a pair of inward facing leakage barriers (260, 261) extending in said longitudinal direction (Y) of said insert.

The absorbent article according to any of the preceding claims, wherein in said at least one, preferably each, of a front section (aSf) and a back section (aSb) of the absorbent article (1), a lateral fastening width (aWf) is no less than 70%, such as no less than 80% or no less than 90%, of a maximum width (iW) of the insert (200) in said front edge portion (201') or back edge portion (202'), respectively.

The absorbent article (1) according to any of the preceding claims, wherein, In said at least one, preferably each, of said back section (aSb) and said front section (aSf), said set of one or more attachment areas (21, 22; 41, 42) comprises a first subset of one or more attachment areas (21, 41) and a second subset of one or more attachment areas (22, 42), wherein said first subset and said second subset are spaced apart, preferably symmetrically, about a longitudinal centre axis of said insert.

The absorbent article according to claim 6, wherein said first subset of one or more attachment areas (21, 41) and said second subset of one or more attachment areas (22, 42) are spaced apart by a lateral spacing width (aWs) which is at least 40%, such as at least 50% or at least 60%, of said lateral fastening width (aWf).

The absorbent article according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein in said at least one, preferably each, of the front section (aSf) and the back section (aSb) of the absorbent article (1), the outer cover (100) comprises a set of one or more insert fastening regions (121, 122; 141, 142), each insert fastening region (121, 122; 141, 142) comprising a surface fastening material for providing detachable attachment to an inwardly facing surface of the insert (200) in at least one of said set of one or more attachment regions (21, 22; 41, 42).

The absorbent article according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein in said at least one, preferably each, of the front section (aSf) and the back section (aSb) of the absorbent article (1), the inwardly facing side and / or the outwardly facing side of the insert (200) comprises a set of one or more cover fastening regions (221, 222; 241, 242), each cover fastening region (221, 222; 241, 242) comprising a surface fastening material for providing detachable attachment to the outer cover (100) in at least one of said set of one or more attachment regions (21, 22; 41, 42).

The absorbent article according to claim 17, wherein in each of the set of attachment regions, an inwardly facing surface area of the insert (200) is detachably attached to a surface area of an outwardly facing inner side (120a, 140a) of the flap member (120, 140) via the at least one surface fastening material, such that a front edge portion (201’) or a rear edge portion (202’) of the insert (200) is detachably attached to the outer cover (100) in the set of attachment regions (21, 22; 41, 42), respectively.
