[0041] (First exemplary example)

[0042] Figure 1 is a conceptual diagram illustrating a battery manufacturing apparatus 10 according to an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0043] Referring to Figure 1 , the battery manufacturing apparatus 10 includes a negative electrode slitting apparatus 110 configured to slit a negative electrode, a positive electrode slitting apparatus 210 configured to slit a positive electrode, a first cutting apparatus 120 for separating individual negative electrodes, a second cutting apparatus 220 for separating individual positive electrodes, a layering apparatus 300 configured to layer the individual positive electrodes and the individual negative electrodes, and a roll map creation apparatus.

[0044] Figure 2 is a schematic diagram conceptually illustrating a negative electrode slitting apparatus and an upper layer system connected thereto.

[0045] Referring to Figure 2 , the negative electrode slitting apparatus 110 can include an unwinder 1111, a rewinder 1113, a slitter 1115, a first rotary encoder 1121, a second rotary encoder 1125, a measuring instrument 1130, a first marking apparatus 1117, and a process programmable logic controller (PLC) 1143.

[0046] In the unwinder 1111, an electrode roll manufactured in a previous electrode process can be provided, and the unwinder 1111 can be configured to unwind the electrode roll. The rewinder 1113 can be configured to rewind the slitted electrode E1 unwound from the unwinder 1111.

[0047] The first rotary encoder 1121 can be configured to detect the degree to which the electrode is unwound through the unwinder 1111. The first rotary encoder 1121 can be configured to be contact or non-contact. In some exemplary examples, the first rotary encoder 1121 can be configured to sense the length of the electrode unwound through the unwinder 1111. Accordingly, the first rotary encoder 1121 can be configured to generate and transmit an unwinding amount signal UWAS representing the length of the electrode unwound to a roll map PLC 1171 described in greater detail below. The roll map PLC 1171 can be configured to collect unwinding amount data based on the received unwinding amount signal UWAS.

[0048] The second rotary encoder 1125 can be configured to detect the degree to which the electrode is wound by the rewinder 1113. The second rotary encoder 1125 can be configured to be contact type or non-contact type. In some example examples, the second rotary encoder 1125 can be configured to sense the length of the electrode wound by the rewinder 1113. Accordingly, the second rotary encoder 1125 can be configured to generate and transmit a winding amount signal WAS representing the length of the electrode wound to the winding map PLC 1171 described below in greater detail. The winding map PLC 1171 can be configured to collect winding amount data based on the received winding amount signal WAS.

[0049] The measurement instrument 1130 can be configured to measure the electrode E1 to collect measurement data MD of the electrode E1 as the electrode E1 is transferred from the unwinder 1111 to the rewinder 1113. The measurement instrument 1130 can measure the electrode E1 with a scanning method. In some example examples, the measurement instrument 1130 can move along the width direction of the electrode E1. In some example examples, the measurement instrument 1130 can move from one end of the width direction of the electrode E1 to the other end of the width direction during one scan of the measurement instrument 1130. The electrode E1 can move in the length direction of the electrode as the measurement instrument 1130 performs the scan in the width direction.

[0050] The slitting machine 1115 can be a device configured to mechanically apply a punching process to form an electrode tab with respect to the metal foil in which the negative active material is formed in a substantially uniform thickness and width or to cut and remove a predetermined portion using a laser.

[0051] The slitting machine 1115 can use any device known in the art to which the present disclosure pertains. In some example examples, the slitting machine 1115 can be a pressing device for slitting, e.g., including a driving portion configured to move a slitting die up and down in a regular cycle, and as the slitting die moves downward, it can punch the edge of the electrode E1 to form a lead tab of a predetermined shape (e.g., a rectangle).

[0052] The negative slitting device 110 can be configured to assign a first electrode ID to the uncoated portion of the metal foil on which the negative active material is not formed. To this end, the negative slitting device 110 can mark a mark corresponding to the first electrode ID on the uncoated portion of the electrode. The mark corresponding to the first electrode ID can be marked by the first marking device 1117.

[0053] In some example examples, the mark can be a barcode or a quick response (QR) code. The first marking device 1117 can be configured to mark the mark on the uncoated portion, e.g., with a laser.

[0054] The negative electrode slotting device 110 can include a mist collector 1119 capable of absorbing metal powder. In particular, the mist collector 1119 can be configured to remove metal powder generated when marking a mark on the uncoated portion of the electrode E1 using a laser. In some example examples, the mist collector 1119 can be configured to inhale metal powder or adsorb metal powder using electrostatic attraction.

[0055] The measurement data MD can include test results expressed in numbers. For example, the measurement data MD can include coordinates and dimensions of the slotted portion on the electrode E1. In some example examples, the measurement data MD can further include loading amount data of the coating material on the electrode, dimension data such as a width of the insulating material disposed on the coating material and an overlap width between the coating material and the insulating material, mismatch data between a coating portion strip on the upper surface of the electrode and a coating portion strip on the lower surface of the electrode, etc. Here, the loading amount indicates an amount of the coating material loaded per unit area of the electrode E1, which can be an area density of the coating material. The measurement data MD can be processed by a setting method so that it can be determined whether a measured portion of the electrode is defective.

[0056] The measurement instrument 1130 can include a sensing part 1131 and a processing part 1133. The sensing part 1131 can be configured to sense a physical quantity of the electrode E1 to generate a measurement signal MS. For example, the sensing part 1131 can include a time delay integration (TDI) camera, a complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) image sensor, a time-of-flight (TOF) sensor, etc. The sensing part 1131 can further include a transmitter and a receiver configured to perform measurement using non-destructive signals such as ultrasound, microwave, terahertz wave, infrared light, etc. In some example examples, the sensing part 1131 can include analog and / or digital sensors such as a biological sensor, a chemical sensor, a composition sensor, a current and / or power meter, an air quality sensor, a gas sensor, a Hall effect sensor, a brightness level sensor, an optical sensor, etc. In some example examples, the measurement instrument 1130 can further include a pressure sensor, a temperature sensor, an ultrasonic sensor, a proximity sensor, a door status sensor, a motion tracking sensor, a humidity sensor, a visible and infrared sensor, a camera, etc.

[0057] The negative electrode slitting apparatus 110 can further include an inspector configured to inspect the electrode E1 to collect inspection data. The inspection data can include a determination of the quality of a portion of the electrode E1 and a process event. For example, the inspection data can include data of the appearance of the electrode collected by an image-based inspection apparatus such as a vision machine, data of breaks and joints in the electrode, data of portions of the electrode for which a sampling inspection is performed, data of portions of the electrode that are planned to be scrapped, and data of scrapped portions of the electrode, data regarding whether there is a defect in a coating material and an insulating material on the electrode, data of reference points indicating the position of the electrode, and data of defects such as a pinhole defect, a crater defect, a line defect, a crack defect, a side edge defect, an island defect, a fold defect, a wrinkle defect, an indentation defect, and a dent defect. The reference points can be formed on the electrode at predetermined intervals, and the positions of other elements on the electrode can be located based on the reference points. The inspector can be any one of a color sensor, a joint sensor, a reference point sensor, and a vision machine.

[0058] The measurement data MD and the inspection data described above can be time series data. The measurement data MD and the inspection data can be chronologically ordered. Chronological ordering is a main characteristic of time series data in which events are organized in the order in which they occurred and arrived to be processed. In other words, the measurement data MD and the inspection data can be stored based on the time point at which the measurement and the inspection are performed, and the measurement data MD and the inspection data can be related to time. In addition, the measurement data MD and the inspection data can be related to the position on the electrode identified based on the reference points.

[0059] The processing portion 1133 can be configured to collect the measurement signal MS sensed by the sensing portion 1131 to generate the measurement data MD. The processing portion 1133 can be wired or wirelessly connected to the sensing portion 1131.

[0060] The roll graph PLC 1171 can be in operable communication with the first rotary encoder 1121 and the second rotary encoder 1125, the measurement instrument 1130, and additional measurement instruments and inspectors through a wired or wireless data network. The data network can be unidirectional or bidirectional. The data network can be implemented through a public and / or private network using a physical channel, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and / or other frequency bands. The first rotary encoder 1121 and the second rotary encoder 1125, the measurement instrument 1130, and additional measurement instruments and inspectors can be configured to collect data from devices, workpiece products, semi-finished products, and products within the negative electrode slitting apparatus 110 or generate signals for collecting data.

[0061] The roll map PLC 141 can be configured to send the coordinate data CD to the processing section 1133. The processing section 1133 can be configured to associate the measurement data MD with the coordinate data CD to generate coordinate-related measurement data CMD. Generally, the measurement data MD can be processed based on a trigger point. Examples of processing the measurement data MD can include storing the measurement data MD, manipulating the measurement data MD (e.g., generating the coordinate-related measurement data CMD), and sending the measurement data MD.

[0062] As a non-limiting example, the trigger point for processing the measurement data MD can be completion of a scan. For example, the sensing section 1131 can scan the electrode in a width direction of the electrode, and for each scan, the measurement data MD can be stored, processed, manipulated, and sent. In other examples, the trigger point can be completion of multiple scans or completion of a portion of a scan.

[0063] The processing section 1133 can be configured to send the coordinate-related measurement data CMD to the roll map PLC 1171. The roll map PLC 1171 can be configured to send the coordinate-related measurement data CMD to the process PLC 1143.

[0064] The coordinate-related measurement data CMD sent to the process PLC 1143 can be communicated to the first server 150 by the process PLC 1143 and an equipment interface, EIF 145. The process PLC 1143 and the EIF 145 can relay communication of data (including the measurement data CMD) between the first server 150 and the roll map PLC 1171. However, without limitation, the roll map PLC 1171 can be configured to send the coordinate-related measurement data CMD directly to the first server 150.

[0065] The process PLC 1143 can be configured to control operation of the unwinder 1111, the rewinder 1113, and the slitter 1115. The process PLC 1143 can be configured to generate signals for operating and stopping the unwinder 1111, the rewinder 1113, and the slitter 1115.

[0066] In some example examples, each of the roll map PLC 1171 and the process PLC 1143 can be part of one PLC (the first PLC 1140).

[0067] To control the slitting process, a communication line can be installed between the process PLC 1143 and the first server 150 via the EIF 145 and connect the process PLC 1143 and the first server 150. Accordingly, compared to a case where the first rotary encoder 1121 and the second rotary encoder 1125 and the measuring instrument 1130 directly transmit the unwinding amount signal UWAS, the winding amount signal WAS, and the measurement signal MS to the first server 150 and a case where the roll diagram PLC 1171 directly transmits the measurement data CMD to the first server 150, data transmission through the process PLC 1143 can reduce resources required to install the communication line, and data processing and management can be efficiently performed.

[0068] The EIF 145 can be a device for communication between the process PLC 1143 of the manufacturing facility and the first server 150, which is an upper server.

[0069] In some example embodiments, the first server 150 can include a first roll diagram creating part configured to generate a first roll diagram. The first roll diagram can be process data of the electrode E1 on a plane simulating movement of the electrode E1 between the unwinding machine 1111 and the rewinding machine 1113. In this case, the first server 150 can function as a roll diagram creating device.

[0070] In some example embodiments, the roll diagram PLC 1171 can include a first roll diagram creating part configured to generate a first roll diagram. In this case, the roll diagram PLC 1171 can function as a roll diagram creating device. Hereinafter, a case where the first server 150 creates a first roll diagram will be described. However, the roll diagram PLC 1171 can also be configured to create a first roll diagram in the same, equivalent, or similar manner as associated with the first server 150 creating a first roll diagram.

[0071] The first roll diagram can be generated per batch unit formed by winding and cutting the electrode E1. The first roll diagram can include data related to specifications of the batch. The specifications of the batch can include, for example, a batch number, a length of the wound electrode, a width of the electrode, and materials and ingredients used when processing the electrode.

[0072] The first server 150 can match the coordinate position of the generated first roll diagram with the first electrode ID. Here, matching the coordinate position of the first roll diagram with the first electrode ID can mean identifying which portions of the electrode E1 represented by the first roll diagram are manufactured as an electrode having an uncoated portion marked with the first electrode ID. In other words, the first server 150 can define a position corresponding to the first electrode ID based on a reference point on the electrode E1.

[0073] According to an exemplary example, the first server 150 can be a data processing system that supports management of various activities required for manufacturing of a secondary battery, such as work schedule management, work instruction, quality management, work performance summary, etc. The first server 150 can be, for example, a manufacturing execution system (MES). The first server 150 can be configured to perform input, processing, output, and communication of data required for assembling electrodes, such as a slotting process, a cutting process, and a layering process.

[0074] The first server 150 can generate a visualization command VC for visualizing the first roll map. The first server 150 can transmit the visualization command VC to the display device 160, and the display device 160 can visualize the first roll map to display the visualized first roll map.

[0075] In some exemplary examples, the processing portion 1133 can be configured to transmit the coordinate-related measurement data CMD and / or the coordinate data CD to the second server 180. According to an exemplary example, the coordinate-related measurement data CMD and the coordinate data CD can be transmitted to the second server 180 via the eIoT 170. The eIoT 170 can be a device for communication between the processing portion 1133 and the second server 180.

[0076] In some exemplary examples, the second server 180 can be configured to store and process measurement data MD of electrodes. The second server 180 can continuously monitor processing of electrodes based on the measurement data MD, thereby managing processing quality of the electrodes. According to an exemplary example, the second server 180 can be a statistical process controller (SPC). By collecting and analyzing manufacturing data in almost real time, the second server 180 can timely identify problematic conditions and provide an alarm to an operator before a potential problem occurs.

[0077] The third server 190 can be configured to store the coordinate-related measurement data CMD transmitted from the first server 150. The third server 190 can be configured to store the measurement data MD transmitted from the second server 180. If the first server 150 is an MES and the second server 180 is an SPC, they can not be suitable for long-term storage of the coordinate-related measurement data CMD, the evaluation data ED, and the measurement data MD. The third server 190 can be, for example, a data warehouse, and can store the coordinate-related measurement data CMD, the evaluation data ED, and the measurement data MD for a long period of time, for example, based on a warranty period of a product.

[0078] The processing section 1133, the roll map PLC 1171, the process PLC 1143, the EIF 145, the first server 150, the eIoT 170, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can be implemented as hardware, firmware, software, and combinations thereof. For example, the processing section 1133, the roll map PLC 1171, the process PLC 1143, the EIF 145, the first server 150, the eIoT 170, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can include computing devices such as workstation computers, desktop computers, laptop computers, tablet computers, and the like. The processing section 1133, the roll map PLC 1171, the process PLC 1143, the EIF 145, the first server 150, the eIoT 170, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can include any of simple controllers, complex processors such as microprocessors, CPUs, GPUs, and the like, processors configured by software, and dedicated hardware and firmware. The processing section 1133, the roll map PLC 1171, the process PLC 1143, the EIF 145, the first server 150, the eIoT 170, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can be implemented by, for example, general-purpose computers or dedicated hardware such as digital signal processing (DSP), field programmable gate arrays (FPGA), and application specific integrated circuits (ASIC).

[0079] The first server 150 and the second server 180 can generate the first roll map and the intermediate roll map. Because the first server 150 stores and processes a large amount of data for general manufacturing management in addition to the first roll map, the first roll map stored on the first server 150 can include processed and simplified coordinate-related measurement data CMD instead of raw measurement data MD. The second server 180 can store the raw measurement data MD for SPC operation. The second server 180 can transmit measurement data MD corresponding to a selected portion of the first roll map in response to a command from the first server 150.

[0080] The intermediate roll map can also include measurement data MD associated with the first roll map; in other words, the intermediate roll map can include measurement data MD as raw data in addition to the first roll map. The measurement data MD can be associated with the first roll map based on time values. Accordingly, the intermediate roll map can provide additional insights into quality of workpiece products, performance of processes, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) drill-down, anomaly detection, traceability, preventive maintenance, and predictive alerts.

[0081] The first server 150, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can include physical servers or cloud servers. The first server 150, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can provide data and analysis results to the operator through various frameworks. The frameworks can include protocols that support the transfer of data so that the display device 160 can visualize the data through a user interface and provide updated visualizations as new data is computed through the first server 150 and the second server 180. The protocols that support the transfer of data can utilize HTML, JavaScript, and / or JSON.

[0082] The first server 150, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can include various application programming interfaces (APIs) for storing data in databases and other data management tools. The APIs can also be used to retrieve data from databases of various data management systems. The data management systems can provide access to databases, extract data from databases, retrieve data from databases, and generate metric values. In this context, a metric value is a tool for visualizing data. The metric values include time series generated measurements and can be used to monitor applications and generate status alerts.

[0083] The anode grooving apparatus 110 can implement a plug-in architecture with APIs for data acquisition to provide plug-and-play connectivity of the measurement instruments 1130 as well as additional measurement instruments and inspectors. Thus, resources at specific process steps and specific stations can be easily repositioned to other processes and other stations, or new resources can be easily introduced at each process step and station.

[0084] The data network between the elements of the anode grooving apparatus 110 can include various types of communication channels, including one-way, two-way wired and wireless communication. In one example, the data network can include an industrial protocol network, such as OPC, Modbus, ProfiNet, etc. The communication channels can be dedicated pipe communication, such as Universal Serial Bus (USB), IEEE 802 (Ethernet), IEEE 1394 (Firewire), or other high-speed data communication standards.

[0085] In some examples, the anode grooving apparatus 110 can also include a manual input system that allows the operator to input manufacturing data. The anode grooving apparatus 110 can allow the operator to input data using input tools and allow the input of manufacturing data based on a computer (e.g., grab an excel file).

[0086] According to some example embodiments, the operations of the processing section 1133, the roll map PLC 1171, the process PLC 1143, the EIF 145, the first server 150, the eIoT 170, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can be implemented as commands stored on a machine-readable medium that can be read and executed by one or more processors. Here, a machine-readable medium can include any mechanism for storing and / or transmitting information in a form readable by a machine (e.g., a computing device). For example, a machine-readable medium can include read-only memory (ROM); random access memory (RAM); magnetic disk storage media; optical storage media; flash memory devices; electrical, optical, acoustical or other form of propagated signals (e.g., carrier waves, infrared signals, digital signals, etc.), and others.

[0087] The processing section 1133, the roll map PLC 1171, the process PLC 1143, the EIF 145, the first server 150, the eIoT 170, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can include firmware, software, routines, and commands for performing the operations described above or any of the processes described below. For example, the processing section 1133, the roll map PLC 1171, the process PLC 1143, the EIF 145, the first server 150, the eIoT 170, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can be instantiated in memory.

[0088] For example, the processing section 1133 can be implemented by software configured to receive the coordinate data CD, generate the coordinate-related measurement data CMD, and transmit the measurement data MD, the coordinate data CD, and the coordinate-related measurement data CMD.

[0089] For example, the roll map PLC 1171 can be implemented by software configured to collect the coordinate data CD, receive the coordinate-related measurement data CMD, and transmit the coordinate data CD and the coordinate-related measurement data CMD.

[0090] The process PLC 1143 can be implemented by software configured to generate control signals for controlling the unwinder 1111, the rewinder 1113, and the slotter 1115 based on the product ID and the product recipe, receive the coordinate data CD and the coordinate-related measurement data CMD, and transmit the coordinate data CD and the coordinate-related measurement data CMD.

[0091] The EIF 145 can be implemented by software for relaying the transfer of data and information between the process PLC 1143 and the first server 150. More specifically, the EIF 145 can be implemented by software configured to perform flow control, error control, synchronization, sequence control, addressing, multiplexing, routing, and formatting of communications between the process PLC 1143 and the first server 150.

[0092] For example, the first server 150 can be implemented by software configured to transmit the product ID and the product recipe to the process PLC 1143 and generate the first roll map based on the coordinate-related measurement data CMD.

[0093] The eIoT 170 can include software configured to collect, store, process, and transmit the coordinate data CD, the coordinate-related measurement data CMD, and / or the time series data (e.g., the measurement data MD).

[0094] The second server 180 can be implemented by software configured to store the coordinate data CD, the coordinate-related measurement data CMD, and / or the time series data (e.g., the measurement data MD), monitor the process based on the time series data, the coordinate data CD, and / or the coordinate-related measurement data CMD, and transmit the time series data, the coordinate data CD, and / or the coordinate-related measurement data CMD in response to a request of the first server 150.

[0095] The third server 190 can be implemented by software configured to receive and store the coordinate-related measurement data CMD, the evaluation data ED, and / or the measurement data MD, and retrieve the coordinate-related measurement data CMD, the evaluation data ED, and / or the measurement data MD.

[0096] However, this is only for convenience of description, and the operations of the above-described processing section 1133, the roll map PLC 1171, the process PLC 1143, the EIF 145, the first server 150, the eIoT 170, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can be caused by other devices such as execution computing devices, distributed computing devices, processors, firmware, software, routines, and commands.

[0097] Figure 3 is a schematic view conceptually illustrating a positive electrode slitting device and an upper system connected thereto.

[0098] Referring to Figure 3 , the positive electrode slitting device 210 can include an unwinder 2111, a rewinder 2113, a slitting machine 2115, a first rotary encoder 2121, a second rotary encoder 2125, a measuring instrument 2130, a second marker device 2117, and a process programmable logic controller (PLC) 2143.

[0099] The configurations of the unwinder 2111, the rewinder 2113, the third rotary encoder 2121, and the fourth rotary encoder 2125 are the same as those of the unwinder 1111, the rewinder 1113, the first rotary encoder 1121, and the second rotary encoder 1125 described with reference to Figure 2 , respectively. Therefore, detailed descriptions thereof are omitted herein.

[0100] The slitting machine 2115 can be a device configured to mechanically apply a punching process to form an electrode tab with respect to the metal foil in which the positive active material is formed in a substantially uniform thickness and width, or to cut and remove a predetermined portion using a laser.

[0101] The slitting machine 2115 can be any device known in the art to which the present disclosure pertains. In some example examples, the slitting machine 2115 can be a pressing device for slitting, such as including a driving portion configured to move a slitting die up and down in a regular cycle, and as the slitting die moves downward, it can punch the edge of the electrode E2 to form a lead tab of a predetermined shape (for example, a rectangular shape).

[0102] The positive slitting device 210 can be configured to assign a second electrode ID to the uncoated portion of the metal foil on which the positive active material is not formed. To this end, the positive slitting device 210 can mark a mark corresponding to the second electrode ID on the uncoated portion of the electrode. The mark corresponding to the second electrode ID can be marked by the second marking device 2117.

[0103] In some example examples, the mark can be a barcode or a quick response (QR) code. For example, the second marking device 2117 can be configured to mark the mark on the uncoated portion with a laser.

[0104] The positive slitting device 210 can include a fume collector 2119 capable of absorbing metal powder. In particular, the fume collector 2119 can be configured to remove metal powder generated when marking the mark on the uncoated portion of the electrode E2 using a laser. In some example examples, the fume collector 2119 can be configured to inhale metal powder or adsorb metal powder using electrostatic attraction.

[0105] In particular, the fume collector 2119 provided in the positive slitting device 210 can be an explosion-proof fume collector. In particular, the fume collector 2119 can be configured to prevent metal powder from exploding due to an accidental spark or the like.

[0106] The measurement data MD can include the inspection results expressed in numerical values. For example, the measurement data MD can include the coordinates and dimensions of the slotted portion on the electrode E2. In some exemplary examples, the measurement data MD can further include the loading amount data of the coating material on the electrode, the dimension data such as the width of the insulating material disposed on the coating material and the overlap width between the coating material and the insulating material, the mismatch data between the coating portion strip on the upper surface of the electrode and the coating portion strip on the lower surface of the electrode, and the like. Here, the loading amount indicates the amount of the coating material loaded per unit area of the electrode E2, which can be the areal density of the coating material. The measurement data MD can be processed by the setting method so that the positive charge or the negative charge of the measured portion of the electrode can be determined.

[0107] The measurement instrument 2130 can include a sensing portion 2131 and a processing portion 2133. The sensing portion 2131 can be configured to sense the physical quantity of the electrode E2 to generate the measurement signal MS. The specific configuration of the sensing portion 2131 can be the same as that of the sensing portion 1131 described with reference to Figure 2 the description will be omitted here.

[0108] The positive electrode slitting apparatus 210 can further include an inspector configured to inspect the electrode E2 to collect inspection data. The inspection data can include the determination of the quality of a portion of the electrode E2 and the process event. For example, the inspection data can include the data of the appearance of the electrode collected by an image-based inspection apparatus such as a vision machine, the data of the break and the joint in the electrode, the data of the portion of the electrode for which a sampling inspection is performed, the data of the portion of the electrode planned to be scrapped, and the data of the scrapped portion of the electrode, the data on whether the coating material and the insulating material on the electrode are defective, the data of the reference point indicating the position of the electrode, and the data of defects such as pinhole defects, pit defects, line defects, crack defects, side edge defects, island defects, fold defects, wrinkle defects, indentation defects, and dent defects. The reference point can be formed on the electrode at a predetermined interval, and the positions of other elements on the electrode can be known based on the reference point. The inspector can be any one of a color sensor, a joint sensor, a reference point sensor, and a vision machine.

[0109] The measurement data MD and the inspection data described above can be the time series data previously described with reference to Figure 2 and the detailed description thereof will be omitted here.

[0110] The processing portion 2133 can be configured to collect the measurement signal MS sensed by the sensing portion 2131 to generate the measurement data MD. The processing portion 2133 can be wired or wirelessly connected to the sensing portion 2131.

[0111] The roll map PLC 2171 can be in operable communication with the first rotary encoder 2121 and the second rotary encoder 2125, the measuring instrument 2130, and additional measuring instruments and inspectors through a wired or wireless data network. The data network can be unidirectional or bidirectional. The data network can be implemented through public and / or private networks using physical channels, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and / or other frequency bands. The first rotary encoder 2121 and the second rotary encoder 2125, the measuring instrument 2130, and additional measuring instruments and inspectors can be configured to collect data from equipment, workpiece products, semi-finished products, and products within the positive slotting device 210 or generate signals for collecting data.

[0112] The roll map PLC 2171 can be configured to send the coordinate data CD to the processing section 2133. The processing section 2133 can be configured to associate the measurement data MD with the coordinate data CD to generate coordinate-related measurement data CMD. Generally, the measurement data MD can be processed based on a trigger point. Examples of processing the measurement data MD can include storing the measurement data MD, manipulating the measurement data MD (e.g., generating the coordinate-related measurement data CMD), and sending the measurement data MD.

[0113] As a non-limiting example, the trigger point for processing the measurement data MD can be completion of a scan. For example, the sensing section 2131 can scan the electrode in a width direction of the electrode, and for each scan, the measurement data MD can be stored, processed, modulated, and sent. In other examples, the trigger point can be completion of multiple scans or completion of a portion of a scan.

[0114] The processing section 2133 can be configured to send the coordinate-related measurement data CMD to the roll map PLC 2171. The roll map PLC 2171 can be configured to send the coordinate-related measurement data CMD to the process PLC 2143.

[0115] The coordinate-related measurement data CMD sent to the process PLC 2143 can be communicated to the first server 150 through the process PLC 2143 and an equipment interface (EIF) 145. The process PLC 2143 and the EIF 145 can relay communication of data (including the measurement data CMD) between the first server 150 and the roll map PLC 2171. However, without limitation, the roll map PLC 2171 can be configured to send the coordinate-related measurement data CMD directly to the first server 150.

[0116] The process PLC 2143 can be configured to control operation of the unwinder 2111, the rewinder 2113, and the slotter 2115. The process PLC 2143 can be configured to generate signals for operating and stopping the unwinder 2111, the rewinder 2113, and the slotter 2115.

[0117] In some example embodiments, each of the roll diagram PLC 2171 and the process PLC 2143 can be part of one PLC (the second PLC 2140).

[0118] In order to control the slitting process, a communication line can be installed between the process PLC 2143 and the first server 150 via the EIF 145 and connect the process PLC 2143 and the first server 150. Accordingly, compared to the case where the first rotary encoder 2121 and the second rotary encoder 2125 and the measuring instrument 2130 directly transmit the unwinding amount signal UWAS, the winding amount signal WAS, and the measurement signal MS to the first server 150 and the case where the roll diagram PLC 2171 directly transmits the measurement data CMD to the first server 150, the data transfer through the process PLC 2143 can reduce resources required to install the communication line, and data processing and management can be efficiently performed.

[0119] The EIF 145 can be a device for communication between the process PLC 2143 of the manufacturing facility and the first server 150, which is an upper server.

[0120] In some example embodiments, the first server 150 can include a second roll diagram creating part configured to generate a second roll diagram. The second roll diagram can be process data of the electrode E2 on a plane simulating movement of the electrode E2 between the unwinding machine 2111 and the rewinding machine 2113. In this case, the first server 150 can function as a roll diagram creating device.

[0121] In some example embodiments, the roll diagram PLC 2171 can include a second roll diagram creating part configured to generate a second roll diagram. In this case, the roll diagram PLC 2171 can function as a roll diagram creating device. Hereinafter, a case where the first server 150 creates a second roll diagram will be described. However, the roll diagram PLC 2171 can also be configured to create a second roll diagram in the same, equivalent, or similar manner associated with the configuration in which the first server 150 creates a second roll diagram.

[0122] The second roll diagram can be generated per batch unit formed by winding and cutting the electrode E2. The second roll diagram can include data related to specifications of the batch. The specifications of the batch can include, for example, a batch number, a length of the wound electrode, a width of the electrode, and materials and ingredients used when processing the electrode.

[0123] The first server 150 can match the coordinate position of the generated second roll diagram with the second electrode ID. The first server 150 can define a position corresponding to the second electrode ID based on a reference point on the electrode E2.

[0124] The first server 150 can generate a visualization command VC for visualizing the second roll map. The first server 150 can transmit the visualization command VC to the display device 160, and the display device 160 can visualize the second roll map to display the visualized second roll map.

[0125] In some exemplary examples, the processing portion 2133 can be configured to transmit the coordinate-related measurement data CMD and / or the coordinate data CD to the second server 180. According to exemplary examples, the coordinate-related measurement data CMD and the coordinate data CD can be transmitted to the second server 180 via the eIoT 170. The eIoT 170 can be a device for communication between the processing portion 2133 and the second server 180.

[0126] In some exemplary examples, the second server 180 can be configured to store and process the measurement data MD of the electrode. The second server 180 can continuously monitor the processing of the electrode based on the measurement data MD, thereby managing the quality of the processing of the electrode. According to exemplary examples, the second server 180 can be a statistical process controller (SPC). By collecting and analyzing manufacturing data almost in real time, the second server 180 can timely identify problem conditions and provide an alarm to an operator before a potential problem occurs.

[0127] The third server 190 can be configured to store the coordinate-related measurement data CMD transmitted from the first server 150.

[0128] The processing section 2133, the map PLC 2171, the process PLC 2143, the EIF 145, the first server 150, the eIoT 170, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can be implemented as hardware, firmware, software, and combinations thereof. For example, the processing section 2133, the map PLC 2171, the process PLC 2143, the EIF 145, the first server 150, the eIoT 170, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can include computing devices such as workstation computers, desktop computers, laptop computers, tablet computers, and the like. The processing section 2133, the map PLC 2171, the process PLC 2143, the EIF 145, the first server 150, the eIoT 170, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can include any of simple controllers, complex processors such as microprocessors, CPUs, GPUs, and the like, processors configured by software, and dedicated hardware and firmware. The processing section 2133, the map PLC 2171, the process PLC 2143, the EIF 145, the first server 150, the eIoT 170, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can be implemented by, for example, general-purpose computers or dedicated hardware such as digital signal processing (DSP), field programmable gate arrays (FPGA), and application specific integrated circuits (ASIC).

[0129] The first server 150 and the second server 180 can generate a second map. Because the first server 150 stores and processes a large amount of data for general manufacturing management in addition to the second map, the second map stored in the first server 150 can include processed and simplified coordinate-related measurement data CMD instead of raw measurement data MD. The second server 180 can store the raw measurement data MD as an SPC operation. The second server 180 can transmit measurement data MD corresponding to a selected portion of the second map in response to a command from the first server 150.

[0130] The intermediate map can also include measurement data MD associated with the second map; in other words, the intermediate map can include the measurement data MD as raw data in addition to the second map. The measurement data MD can be associated with the second map based on a time value. Accordingly, the intermediate map can provide additional insights into quality of workpiece products, performance of processes, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) drill-down, anomaly detection, traceability, preventive maintenance, and predictive alerts.

[0131] The anode slitting apparatus 210 can implement a plug-in architecture with APIs for data acquisition to provide plug-and-play connectivity of the metrology instruments 2130 and additional metrology instruments and inspectors. Thus, resources at specific process steps and specific stations can be easily relocated to other processes and other stations, or new resources can be easily introduced at each process step and station.

[0132] The data network between elements of the anode slitting apparatus 210 can include various types of communication channels, including one-way, two-way wired and wireless communication.

[0133] In some examples, the anode slitting apparatus 210 can also include a manual input system that allows an operator to input manufacturing data. The anode slitting apparatus 210 can allow an operator to input data using an input tool and allow manufacturing data to be input based on a computer (e.g., grab an excel file).

[0134] According to some example examples, the operations of the processing part 2133, the roll map PLC 2171, the process PLC 2143, the EIF 145, the first server 150, the eIoT 170, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can be implemented as commands stored on a machine-readable medium, which can be read and executed by one or more processors. Here, the machine-readable medium can include any mechanism for storing and / or transmitting information in a form readable by a machine (e.g., a computing device). For example, the machine-readable medium can include read-only memory (ROM), random access memory (RAM), magnetic disk storage media, optical storage media, flash memory devices, electrical, optical, acoustical or other form of propagated signals (e.g., carrier waves, infrared signals, digital signals, etc.), and any other signal.

[0135] The processing part 2133, the roll map PLC 2171, the process PLC 2143, the EIF 145, the first server 150, the eIoT 170, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can include firmware, software, routines, and commands for performing the operations described above or any of the processes described below. For example, the processing part 2133, the roll map PLC 2171, the process PLC 2143, the EIF 145, the first server 150, the eIoT 170, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can be instantiated in memory.

[0136] For example, the processing unit 2133 can be implemented by software configured to receive the coordinate data CD, generate the coordinate-dependent measurement data CMD, and transmit the measurement data MD, the coordinate data CD, and the coordinate-dependent measurement data CMD.

[0137] For example, the roll profile PLC 2171 can be implemented by software configured to collect the coordinate data CD, receive the coordinate-dependent measurement data CMD, and transmit the coordinate data CD and the coordinate-dependent measurement data CMD.

[0138] The process PLC 2143 can be implemented by software configured to generate control signals for controlling the unwinder 2111, the rewinder 2113, and the slitter 2115 based on the product ID and the product recipe, receive the coordinate data CD and the coordinate-dependent measurement data CMD, and transmit the coordinate data CD and the coordinate-dependent measurement data CMD.

[0139] The EIF 145 can be implemented by software for relaying the transfer of data and information between the process PLC 2143 and the first server 150. More specifically, the EIF 145 can be implemented by software configured to perform flow control, error control, synchronization, sequence control, addressing, multiplexing, routing, and formatting of the communication between the process PLC 2143 and the first server 150.

[0140] For example, the first server 150 can be implemented by software configured to transfer the product ID and the product recipe to the process PLC 2143 and generate a second roll profile based on the coordinate-dependent measurement data CMD.

[0141] The eIoT 170 can include software configured to collect, store, process, and transmit the coordinate data CD, the coordinate-dependent measurement data CMD, and / or time series data (e.g., the measurement data MD).

[0142] The second server 180 can be implemented by software configured to store time series data (e.g., the measurement data MD), coordinate data CD, and / or coordinate-dependent measurement data CMD, monitor a process based on the time series data, the coordinate data CD, and / or the coordinate-dependent measurement data CMD, and transmit the time series data, the coordinate data CD, and / or the coordinate-dependent measurement data CMD in response to a request by the first server 150.

[0143] The third server 190 can be implemented by software configured to receive and store the coordinate-dependent measurement data CMD, the evaluation data ED, and / or the measurement data MD, and retrieve the coordinate-dependent measurement data CMD, the evaluation data ED, and / or the measurement data MD.

[0144] However, this is only for ease of description, and the operations of the above processing section 2133, the roll chart PLC 2171, the process PLC 2143, the EIF 145, the first server 150, the eIoT 170, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can be caused by other devices such as an execution computing device, a distributed computing device, a processor, firmware, software, a routine, and a command.

[0145] Figure 4 is a schematic diagram schematically showing the first cutting device and the second cutting device and an upper layer system connected thereto. The first cutting device 120 and the second cutting device 220 are described in one drawing because they differ only in the electrodes E1 and E2 to be processed, and the components constituting them are substantially the same.

[0146] Referring to Figure 4 , the first cutting device 120 can include an unwinder 1211, a cutter 1215, a rotary encoder 1221, a measuring instrument 1230, a cut electrode container 1240, and a process PLC 1243. In addition, the second cutting device 220 can include an unwinder 2211, a cutter 2215, a rotary encoder 2221, a measuring instrument 2230, a cut electrode container 2240, and a process PLC 2243.

[0147] The unwinders 1211, 2211 can be provided with an electrode roll manufactured in a previous slotting process, and the unwinders 1211, 2211 can be configured to unwind the electrode roll.

[0148] The rotary encoders 1221, 2221 can be configured to detect the degree to which the electrodes E1, E2 are unwound by the unwinders 1211, 2211. The rotary encoders 1221, 2221 can be configured to be contact type or non-contact type. In some exemplary examples, the rotary encoders 1221, 2221 can be configured to sense the length of the electrodes E1, E2 unwound by the unwinders 1211, 2211. Accordingly, the rotary encoders 1221, 2221 can be configured to generate and transmit an unwound amount signal UWAS representing the length of the electrodes E1, E2 unwound to the roll chart PLC 1271, 2271 described in greater detail below. The roll chart PLC 1271, 2271 can be configured to collect unwound amount data based on the received unwound amount signal UWAS.

[0149] The cutter 1215, 2215 can be configured to manufacture the plurality of individual negative electrodes CE1 and individual positive electrodes CE2 by cutting the electrodes E1, E2 with a predetermined means, for example, a laser. The cutter 1215, 2215 can be any device known in the art to which the present disclosure pertains. The cut plurality of individual negative electrodes CE1 can be sequentially accommodated in the individual negative electrode container 1240, and the cut plurality of individual positive electrodes CE2 can be sequentially accommodated in the individual positive electrode container 2240.

[0150] The measuring instrument 1230, 2230 can be configured to measure the individual electrodes CE1, CE2 to collect measurement data MD of the individual electrodes CE1, CE2 unwound and cut from the unwinder 1211, 2211. The measuring instrument 1230, 2230 can measure the individual electrodes CE1, CE2 in a scanning method.

[0151] The measuring instrument 1230, 2230 can include a sensing part 1231, 2231 and a processing part 1233, 2233. The sensing part 1231, 2231 can be configured to sense a physical quantity of the individual electrodes CE1, CE2 to generate a measurement signal MS. In some exemplary examples, the sensing part 1231, 2231 can be configured to recognize a mark located on the individual electrodes CE1, CE2 and corresponding to the first electrode ID or the second electrode ID. The mark can be a bar code or a QR code.

[0152] Since the configuration of the sensing part 1231, 2231 can be substantially the same as that of the sensing part 1131, 2131 described with reference to Figure 2 or Figure 3 a further description is omitted here.

[0153] In some exemplary examples, the first cutting device 120 and the second cutting device 220 can further include an inspector configured to inspect the individual electrodes CE1, CE2 to collect inspection data. The inspection data can include a determination of the quality of a portion of the individual electrodes CE1, CE2 and a process event.

[0154] The measurement data MD and the inspection data described above can be time series data, which has been previously described with reference to Figure 2 and will not be described in detail here.

[0155] The processing part 1233, 2233 can be configured to collect the measurement signal MS sensed by the sensing part 1231, 2231 to generate the measurement data MD. The processing part 1233, 2233 can be wired or wirelessly connected to the sensing part 1231, 2231.

[0156] The roll map PLC 1271, 2271 can be in operable communication with the rotary encoder 1211, 2211, the measuring instrument 1230, 2230, and additional measuring instruments and inspectors through a wired or wireless data network. The data network can be one-way or two-way. The data network can be implemented through public and / or private networks using physical channels, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and / or other frequency bands. The rotary encoder 1211, 2211, the measuring instrument 1230, 2230, and additional measuring instruments and inspectors can be configured to collect data from equipment, workpiece products, semi-finished products, and products within the first cutting device 120 and the second cutting device 220 or generate signals for collecting data.

[0157] In some example examples, the roll map PLC 1271, 2271 can be configured to send the coordinate data CD to the processing section 2133. The processing section 1233, 2233 can be configured to associate the measurement data MD with the coordinate data CD to generate coordinate-related measurement data CMD. Generally, the measurement data MD can be processed based on a trigger point. Examples of processing the measurement data MD can include storing the measurement data MD, manipulating the measurement data MD (e.g., generating the coordinate-related measurement data CMD), and sending the measurement data MD.

[0158] The processing section 1233, 2233 can be configured to send the coordinate-related measurement data CMD to the roll map PLC 1271, 2271. The roll map PLC 1271, 2271 can be configured to send the coordinate-related measurement data CMD to the process PLC 1243, 2243.

[0159] The coordinate-related measurement data CMD sent to the process PLC 1243, 2243 can be communicated to the first server 150 through the process PLC 1243, 2243 and the equipment interface (EIF) 245. The process PLC 1243, 2243 and the EIF 245 can relay communication of data (including the measurement data CMD) between the first server 150 and the roll map PLC 1271, 2271. However, without limitation, the roll map PLC 1271, 2271 can be configured to send the coordinate-related measurement data CMD directly to the first server 150.

[0160] The process PLC 1243, 2243 can be configured to control the operation of the unwinder 1211, 2211 and the cutter 1215, 2215. The process PLC 2143, 2243 can be configured to generate signals for operating and stopping the unwinder 1211, 2211 and the cutter 1215, 2215.

[0161] To control the cutting process, a communication line can be installed between the process PLC 1243, 2243 and the first server 150 via the EIF 245, and connect the process PLC 1243, 2243 and the first server 150. Thus, compared to the case where the unwinding amount signal UWAS and the measurement signal MS are directly transmitted to the first server 150 by the rotary encoder 1221, 2221 and the measuring instrument 1230, 2230, and the case where the measurement data CMD is directly transmitted to the first server 150 by the roll diagram PLC 1243, 2243, the data transmission through the process PLC 1243, 2243 can reduce the resources required to install the communication line, and the data processing and management can be efficiently performed.

[0162] The EIF 245 can be a device for communication between the process PLC 1243, 2243 of the manufacturing facility and the first server 150, which is an upper server.

[0163] In some exemplary examples, the processing part 1233, 2233 can be configured to transmit the coordinate-related measurement data CMD and / or the coordinate data CD to the second server 180. According to exemplary examples, the coordinate-related measurement data CMD and the coordinate data CD can be transmitted to the second server 180 via the eIoT 270. The eIoT 270 can be a device for communication between the processing part 1233, 2233 and the second server 180.

[0164] In some exemplary examples, the second server 180 can be configured to store and process the measurement data MD of the electrode. The second server 180 can continuously monitor the processing of the electrode based on the measurement data MD, thereby managing the processing quality of the electrode. According to exemplary examples, the second server 180 can be a statistical process controller (SPC). By collecting and analyzing the manufacturing data almost in real time, the second server 180 can timely identify problem conditions and provide an alarm to an operator before a potential problem occurs.

[0165] The third server 190 can be configured to store the coordinate-related measurement data CMD transmitted from the first server 150.

[0166] The processing sections 1233, 2233, the roll map PLCs 1271, 2271, the process PLCs 1243, 2243, the EIF 245, the first server 150, the eIoT 270, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can be implemented as hardware, firmware, software, and combinations thereof. For example, the processing sections 1233, 2233, the roll map PLCs 1271, 2271, the process PLCs 1243, 2243, the EIF 245, the first server 150, the eIoT 270, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can include computing devices such as workstation computers, desktop computers, laptop computers, tablet computers, and the like. The processing sections 1233, 2233, the roll map PLCs 1271, 2271, the process PLCs 1243, 2243, the EIF 245, the first server 150, the eIoT 270, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can include any of simple controllers, complex processors such as microprocessors, CPUs, GPUs, and the like, processors configured by software, and dedicated hardware and firmware. The processing sections 1233, 2233, the roll map PLCs 1271, 2271, the process PLCs 1243, 2243, the EIF 245, the first server 150, the eIoT 270, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can be implemented by, for example, general purpose computers or specialized hardware such as digital signal processing (DSP), field programmable gate arrays (FPGA), and application specific integrated circuits (ASIC).

[0167] The data network between elements of the first cutting device 120 and the second cutting device 220 can include various types of communication channels, including one-way, two-way wired and wireless communication. In one example, the data network can include an industrial protocol network such as OPC, Modbus, ProfiNet, and the like. The communication channels can be dedicated pipe communication such as universal serial bus (USB), IEEE 802 (Ethernet), IEEE 1394 (Firewire), or other high-speed data communication standards.

[0168] In some examples, the first cutting device 120 and the second cutting device 220 can also include a manual input system that allows an operator to input manufacturing data. The first cutting device 120 and the second cutting device 220 can allow an operator to input data using an input tool and allow manufacturing data to be input based on a computer (e.g., grabbing an excel file).

[0169] For example, the processing sections 1233, 2233 can be implemented by software configured to receive coordinate data CD, generate coordinate-related measurement data CMD, and send measurement data MD, coordinate data CD, and coordinate-related measurement data CMD.

[0170] For example, the roll map PLC 1271, 2271 can be implemented by software configured to collect coordinate data CD, receive coordinate-related measurement data CMD, and transmit coordinate data CD and coordinate-related measurement data CMD.

[0171] The process PLC 1243, 2243 can be implemented by software configured to generate control signals for controlling the unwinder 1211, 2211 and the cutter 1215, 2215 based on the first electrode ID and the second electrode ID, receive coordinate data CD and coordinate-related measurement data CMD, and transmit coordinate data CD and coordinate-related measurement data CMD.

[0172] The EIF 245 can be implemented by software for relaying the transfer of data and information between the process PLC 1243, 2243 and the first server 150. More specifically, the EIF 245 can be implemented by software configured to perform flow control, error control, synchronization, sequence control, addressing, multiplexing, routing, and formatting of the communication between the process PLC 1243, 2243 and the first server 150.

[0173] For example, the first server 150 can be implemented by software configured to transfer the first electrode ID and the second electrode ID to the process PLC 1243, 2243 and update the first roll map and / or the second roll map based on the coordinate-related measurement data CMD. The update of the first roll map can be performed based on measurement data and inspection data obtained from the first cutting device 120. Further, the update of the second roll map can be performed based on measurement data and inspection data obtained from the second cutting device 220.

[0174] The eIoT 270 can include software configured to collect, store, process, and transmit time series data (e.g., measurement data MD), coordinate data CD, and / or coordinate-related measurement data CMD.

[0175] The second server 180 and the third server 190 described above have been described previously with reference to Figure 2 and Figure 3 and will not be described in detail here.

[0176] Figure 5 is a conceptual diagram schematically showing a layering apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Figure 6 is a conceptual diagram schematically showing Figure 5 important parts of the layering apparatus of

[0177] Reference is made to Figure 5 and Figure 6After picking up the individual electrodes CE1, CE2 from the cutting electrode container 1240, 2240, the individual electrodes CE1, CE2 are stacked such that the individual negative electrodes CE1 and the individual positive electrodes CE2 are positioned alternately with the separator 301 therebetween.

[0178] Specifically, the individual negative electrode CE1 is picked up from the individual negative electrode container 1240 that accommodates the individual negative electrode CE1 and positioned on a predetermined worktable. Then, the mark of the individual negative electrode CE1 is read by the first reader 321. Also, the individual positive electrode CE2 is picked up from the individual positive electrode container 2240 that accommodates the individual positive electrode CE2 and positioned on another worktable. Then, the mark of the individual positive electrode CE2 is read by the second reader 322.

[0179] The individual negative electrode CE1 and the individual positive electrode CE2 whose marks corresponding to the respective electrode IDs are recognized by the first reader 321 and the second reader 322 can be transferred to the stacker 310 to be alternately stacked with each other. The transfer can be performed, for example, by a pick-and-place tool.

[0180] The separator supply device 311 can supply the separator 301 to be cross-stacked with the individual negative electrodes CE1 and the individual positive electrodes CE2. The separator supply device 311 can cross-stack the separator 301 in the form of a film according to a zigzag stacking method. The separator 301 can be cut after stacking an appropriate number of the individual electrodes CE1, CE2, thereby obtaining one electrode assembly.

[0181] The separator supply device 311 can be provided with the separator 301 in the form of a roll, and the separator supply device 311 can be configured to unwind the separator 301. A rotary encoder 325 provided on one side of the separator supply device 311 can be configured to detect the degree to which the separator 301 is unwound through the separator supply device 311. The rotary encoder 325 can be configured to be contact or non-contact.

[0182] In some exemplary examples, the rotary encoder 325 can be configured to sense the length of the separator 301 unwound through the separator supply device 311. Accordingly, the rotary encoder 325 can be configured to generate and transmit an unwound amount signal UWAS representing the length of the separator 301 unwound to a roll map PLC 371 described in greater detail below. The roll map PLC 371 can be configured to collect unwound amount data based on the received unwound amount signal UWAS.

[0183] The processing portion 333 can receive the first electrode ID of the individual negative electrode CE1 recognized by the first reader 321 and the second electrode ID of the individual positive electrode CE2 recognized by the second reader 322 as inputs, and provide them to the roll map PLC 371. The processing portion 333 can be wired or wirelessly connected to the first reader 321 and / or the second reader 322.

[0184] The roll map PLC 371 can be in operable communication with the rotary encoder 325 and the processing section 333 through a wired or wireless data network. The data network can be unidirectional or bidirectional. The data network can be implemented through a public and / or private network using physical channels, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and / or other frequency bands.

[0185] In some example embodiments, the roll map PLC 371 can be configured to generate a battery cell ID corresponding to one electrode assembly. The battery cell ID can represent a first electrode ID of a single negative electrode CE1 and a second electrode ID of a single positive electrode CE2 included in one electrode assembly. In some example embodiments, the electrode IDs of the individual electrodes CE1, CE2 included in one electrode assembly can be matched to each other through the battery cell ID.

[0186] In some example embodiments, the first server 150 can match the electrode IDs of the individual electrodes CE1, CE2 included in one electrode assembly to each other through the battery cell ID, in other words, the first electrode ID of the single negative electrode CE1 and the second electrode ID of the single positive electrode CE2 included in one electrode assembly can be matched to the battery cell ID of the battery cell including the electrode assembly through the first server 150.

[0187] In some example embodiments, the roll map PLC 371 can generate any one of the plurality of first electrode IDs and the plurality of second electrode IDs included in one electrode assembly as a battery cell ID representing the electrode assembly.

[0188] In some example embodiments, the roll map PLC 371 can be configured to transmit the coordinate data CD to the processing section 333. The processing section 333 can be configured to associate the coordinate data CD with the first electrode ID and the second electrode ID. In some example embodiments, the processing section 333 can be configured to transmit the coordinate-associated first electrode ID and the second electrode ID to the roll map PLC 371. The roll map PLC 371 can be configured to transmit the coordinate-associated first electrode ID and the second electrode ID to the process PLC 343.

[0189] The coordinate-associated first electrode ID and the second electrode ID transmitted to the process PLC 343 can be transferred to the first server 150 through the process PLC 343 and the equipment interface (EIF) 345. The process PLC 343 and the EIF 345 can relay communication of data (including the coordinate-associated first electrode ID and the second electrode ID) between the first server 150 and the roll map PLC 371. However, without being limited thereto, the roll map PLC 371 can be configured to directly transmit the coordinate-associated first electrode ID and the second electrode ID to the first server 150.

[0190] The process PLC 343 can be configured to control operations of the laminator 310 and the separator supply device 311. The process PLC 343 can be configured to generate signals for operating and stopping the laminator 310 and the separator supply device 311.

[0191] In some example embodiments, in order to control the lamination process, a communication line can be installed between the process PLC 343 and the first server 150 via the EIF 345, and connect the process PLC 343 and the first server 150. The eIoT 370 can be a device for communication between the processing part 333 and the second server 180.

[0193] In some example embodiments, the first server 150 can be configured to output the corresponding first electrode ID and the second electrode ID with respect to the battery cell ID. In other words, the electrode assembly represented by the battery cell ID includes a plurality of individual negative electrodes CE1 and a plurality of individual positive electrodes CE2. As previously described with reference to FIG. 1, the plurality of individual negative electrodes CE1 has a corresponding first electrode ID, and the plurality of individual positive electrodes CE2 has a corresponding second electrode ID. Accordingly, there are the first electrode ID and the second electrode ID corresponding to the battery cell ID, and the first server 150 can be configured to output information about the remaining items among the battery cell ID, the first electrode ID, and the second electrode ID when any one of the battery cell ID, the first electrode ID, and the second electrode ID is given. Figures 2 to 4

[0194] In addition, the first server 150 can be configured to output the coordinates on the first roll map corresponding to the first electrode ID and the coordinates on the second roll map corresponding to the second electrode ID with respect to the battery cell ID.

[0195] In some example embodiments, the second server 180 can be configured to store and process the coordinate-dependent first electrode ID and the second electrode ID. The second server 180 can continuously monitor the processing of the individual electrodes CE1, CE2 based on the coordinate-dependent first electrode ID and the second electrode ID, thereby managing the processing quality of the individual electrodes CE1, CE2. According to example embodiments, the second server 180 can be a statistical process controller (SPC). By collecting and analyzing manufacturing data in almost real time, the second server 180 can timely identify problem conditions and provide alerts to operators before potential problems occur.

[0196] The third server 190 can be configured to store the coordinate-dependent first electrode ID and the second electrode ID transmitted from the first server 150. The third server 190 can be configured to store the coordinate-dependent first electrode ID and the second electrode ID transmitted from the second server 180. If the first server 150 is an MES and the second server 180 is an SPC, they can not be suitable for long-term storage of the coordinate-dependent first electrode ID and the second electrode ID. The third server 190 can be, for example, a data warehouse, and can store the coordinate-dependent first electrode ID and the second electrode ID for a long period of time, for example, based on a warranty period of a product.

[0197] The processing section 333, the roll map PLC 371, the process PLC 343, the EIF 345, the first server 150, the eIoT 370, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can be implemented as hardware, firmware, software, and combinations thereof. For example, the processing section 333, the roll map PLC 371, the process PLC 343, the EIF 345, the first server 150, the eIoT 370, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can include computing devices such as workstation computers, desktop computers, laptop computers, tablet computers, and the like. The processing section 333, the roll map PLC 371, the process PLC 343, the EIF 345, the first server 150, the eIoT 370, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can include any of simple controllers, complex processors such as microprocessors, CPUs, GPUs, and the like, processors configured by software, and dedicated hardware and firmware. The processing section 333, the roll map PLC 371, the process PLC 343, the EIF 345, the first server 150, the eIoT 370, the second server 180, and the third server 190 can be implemented by, for example, general-purpose computers or dedicated hardware such as digital signal processing (DSP), field programmable gate arrays (FPGA), and application specific integrated circuits (ASIC).

[0198] The data network between the elements of the layering apparatus 300 can include various types of communication channels, including one-way, two-way wired and wireless communications. In one example, the data network can include an industrial protocol network, such as OPC, Modbus, ProfiNet, etc. The communication channels can be dedicated pipe communications, such as Universal Serial Bus (USB), IEEE 802 (Ethernet), IEEE 1394 (Firewire), or other high-speed data communication standards.

[0199] In some examples, the layering apparatus 300 can also include a manual input system that allows an operator to input manufacturing data. The layering apparatus 300 can allow the operator to input data using an input tool and allow manufacturing data to be inputted based on a computer (e.g., grabbing an excel file).

[0200] For example, the processing section 333 can be implemented by software configured to receive the first electrode ID and the second electrode ID, generate the coordinate-related first electrode ID and the second electrode ID, and transmit the coordinate-related first electrode ID and the second electrode ID.

More specifically, the EIF 345 can be implemented by software configured to perform flow control, error control, synchronization, sequence control, addressing, multiplexing, routing, and formatting of communications between the process PLC 343 and the first server 150.

[0204] The eIoT 370 can include software configured to collect, store, process, and transfer the coordinate-related first electrode ID and the second electrode ID.

[0205] The second server 180 and the third server 190 have been described with reference to Figure 2 and Figure 3 The second server 180 and the third server 190 have been described with reference to

[0206] As described above, the battery manufacturing apparatus 10 can match the battery cell ID with the first electrode ID of the individual negative electrode and the second electrode ID of the individual positive electrode included therein. Further, the corresponding coordinates on the first roll map can be extracted from the first electrode ID, and the corresponding coordinates on the second roll map can be extracted from the second electrode ID. As a result, even after the assembly process, if necessary, the specific coordinates on the electrode roll can be tracked by verifying the battery cell ID. This makes it possible to reduce product defects and provide information for process improvement.

[0207] (Second exemplary example)

[0208] Figure 7 FIG. 1 is a flowchart illustrating a battery manufacturing method according to an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0209] Referring to Figure 1 and Figure 7 , a first roll map is created in the negative electrode slitting apparatus 110 (S110), and a second roll map is created in the positive electrode slitting apparatus 210 (S210).

[0210] Further, a mark corresponding to the first electrode ID is marked on the slitted electrode E1 in the negative electrode slitting apparatus 110 (S120), and a mark corresponding to the second electrode ID is marked on the slitted electrode E2 in the positive electrode slitting apparatus 210 (S220).

[0211] Although it is shown in Figure 7 that the step of creating the first roll map (S110) is performed, and then the step of marking the mark corresponding to the first electrode ID (S120) is performed, the disclosure is not limited thereto. In some exemplary examples, the step of marking the mark corresponding to the first electrode ID (S120) can be performed before the step of creating the first roll map (S110). In some exemplary examples, the step of creating the first roll map (S110) and the step of marking the mark corresponding to the first electrode ID (S120) can be performed in a time overlapping manner. In some exemplary examples, the step of creating the first roll map (S110) and the step of marking the mark corresponding to the first electrode ID (S120) can be performed simultaneously.

[0212] Similarly, although the step of marking the mark corresponding to the second electrode ID (S220) is illustrated as being performed after the step of creating the second roll map (S210), the disclosure is not limited thereto. In some exemplary examples, the step of marking the mark corresponding to the second electrode ID (S220) can be performed before the step of creating the second roll map (S210). In some exemplary examples, the step of creating the second roll map (S210) and the step of marking the mark corresponding to the second electrode ID (S220) can be performed in a time overlapping manner. In some exemplary examples, the step of creating the second roll map (S210) and the step of marking the mark corresponding to the second electrode ID (S220) can be performed simultaneously.

[0213] Then, the first roll map can be matched with the first electrode ID (S130), and the second roll map can be matched with the second electrode ID (S230). As described with reference to Figures 2 to 4 , the step of matching the first roll map with the first electrode ID and the step of matching the second roll map with the second electrode ID can be performed in the first server 150.

[0214] Then, the plurality of individual negative electrodes CE1 and the plurality of individual positive electrodes CE2 are stacked in a manner in which the separator is interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode in a lamination process to form an electrode assembly. A battery cell including the electrode assembly can be assigned a battery cell ID (S140). In some exemplary examples, the assignment of the battery cell ID can be performed by the roll map PLC 371 of the lamination process (refer to Figure 6 ).

[0215] Then, the battery cell ID, the first electrode ID, and the second electrode ID can be matched with each other (S150). The first electrode ID is a first electrode ID assigned to each of the individual negative electrodes CE1 included in the battery cell represented by the battery cell ID. The second electrode ID is a second electrode ID assigned to each of the individual positive electrodes CE2 included in the battery cell represented by the battery cell ID. The matching of the battery cell ID, the first electrode ID, and the second electrode ID can be performed by the first server 150.

[0216] As described above, although exemplary examples of the disclosure have been described in detail, those of ordinary skill in the art to which the disclosure pertains will be able to implement the disclosure in various modifications without departing from the spirit and scope of the disclosure as defined in the appended claims. Therefore, further modifications of the exemplary examples of the disclosure will not depart from the technical scope of the disclosure.
