Description

Technical Field

[0001] This invention relates to surgical instruments, and more particularly to a minimally invasive surgical instrument. Background Technology

[0002] Precise cutting and coagulation are significant challenges for surgeons during surgery. Monopolar electrosurgical instruments offer high cutting and electrocoagulation efficiency, but their heat release is not precise enough, easily causing collateral tissue damage. Bipolar electrosurgical instruments are more precise than monopolar instruments, with significantly less collateral damage. Laparoscopic bipolar clips have low voltage resistance, typically operating at voltages below 800V, resulting in low cutting efficiency. Furthermore, current laparoscopic bipolar electrosurgical instruments have complex structures, are difficult to clean thoroughly for reuse, and are prone to breakdown failure; disposable laparoscopic bipolar electrosurgical instruments are also expensive. Summary of the Invention

[0003] Therefore, in order to solve the problems of existing technologies, a variety of solutions have been proposed.

The second clamp 40 includes a second clamp head 41, a second clamp arm 43 and a second clamp shoulder 42 connected thereto, the second clamp shoulder 42 including a second shoulder hole 421 passing through it, and the proximal end of the second clamp arm 43 including a laterally extending second drive shaft 431.

[0025] Figure 7-9 The structure and composition of the drive assembly 5 are described. The drive assembly 5 includes a first drive block 51, a second drive block 53, and a third drive block 55. The first drive block 51 and the second drive block 53 are made of metal conductors, and the third drive block 55 is made of plastic material. The third drive block 55 is disposed between the first and second drive blocks and connects them into one unit, while the first and second drive blocks are insulated from each other.

[0026] In one implementation, the first drive block 51 includes a first drive block head 511 and a first drive block tail 515. The first drive block head 511 is provided with a first drive groove 512, and the first drive block tail 515 is provided with a first connecting groove 516. The second drive block 53 includes a second drive block head 531 and a second drive block tail 535. The second drive block head 531 is provided with a second drive groove 532, and the second drive block tail 535 is provided with a second connecting groove 536. The third drive block 55 includes a third drive block head 551 and a third drive block tail 555. The third drive block tail 555 is provided with a first connecting block 556 and a second connecting block 557 extending laterally to both sides, respectively.

[0027] In one implementation, the drive assembly 5 further includes an extension rod 57. The rod 57 includes a proximal rod tail 571, a distal rod head 573, and an extension rod bar 572 therebetween. The rod tail 571 includes a rod annular groove 574. The first drive block tail 515 includes a side extension block 519, and the rod head 573 is integrally connected to the side extension block 519.

[0028] like Figure 8 and Figure 9 The first drive block 51 and the second drive block 53 are respectively installed on both sides of the third drive block 55. The head of the third drive block 551 separates the heads of the first and second drive blocks, and the tail of the third drive block 555 separates the tails of the first and second drive blocks. The first drive groove 512 and the second drive groove 532 are stacked in an "X" shape.

[0029] like Figure 8 and Figure 9 In one implementation, the minimum distance A1 between the first and second drive blocks is ≤ 1.0 mm. The periphery of the third drive block includes drive block flanges 553 extending to both sides, which cover the peripheries of the first and second drive blocks, such that the creepage distance A0 between the first and second drive blocks is ≥ 1.0 mm (not shown in the figure). Those skilled in the art will readily understand that creepage distance is the shortest path measured along an insulating surface between two conductive components or between a conductive component and a protective interface of a device.

[0030] Figure 10 The structure and composition of the isolation core 60 are described. The isolation core 60 includes an isolation plate 61 and a laterally extending isolation shaft 62, with an isolation hole 63 penetrating the isolation shaft 62 and the isolation plate 61.

[0031] Figures 11-18 The assembly relationship of the functional component 2 is described.

[0032] like Figures 11-14The isolation core 60 is installed between the first shoulder 32 and the second shoulder 42, wherein the first shoulder hole 321, the isolation hole 63, and the second shoulder hole 421 are aligned. The isolation shaft 62 is inserted into the first shoulder hole 321, and the isolation plate 61 separates the first shoulder 32 and the second shoulder 42. In one embodiment, the thickness dimension of the isolation plate 61 (i.e., the minimum distance between the first shoulder and the second shoulder) B1 ≤ 1.0 mm, and the shape and size design of the isolation plate ensure that the creepage distance B0 of the first shoulder and the second shoulder is ≥ 1.0 mm (not shown in the figure) during the process of the first and second clamps opening from closed to their maximum angle.

[0033] See also Figures 11-14 The drive assembly 5 is installed between the first clamping arm 33 and the second clamping arm 43, wherein the first drive shaft 331 and the first drive groove 512 are matched to form a first drive pair, and the second drive shaft 431 and the second drive groove 532 are matched to form a second drive pair.

[0034] like Figure 15 After the aforementioned first clamp 30, second clamp 40, isolation core 60 and drive assembly 5 are assembled together, they are then inserted into the U-shaped insulating cavity 24 between the first insulating sheet 22 and the second insulating sheet 23 of the insulating head sleeve 20. The first clamp shoulder 32 matches the first insulating sheet 22, and the second clamp shoulder 42 matches the second insulating sheet 23. The first support hole 121, the second support hole 131, the first shoulder hole 321, the isolation hole 63 and the second shoulder hole 421 are aligned.

[0035] like Figure 16 After the aforementioned first clamp 30, second clamp 40, isolation core 60, drive assembly 5 and insulating head sleeve 20 are assembled together, they are then inserted into the U-shaped fork cavity 14 between the first support arm 12 and the second support arm 13 of the support 10. The first insulating sheet 22 matches the first support arm 12, and the second insulating sheet 23 matches the second support arm 13.

[0036] like Figure 16 , Figure 17 and Figure 18 The functional component 2 further includes a master pin 80, which passes through the first support arm hole 121, the second support arm hole 131, the first head sleeve hole 221, the second head sleeve hole 231, the first shoulder hole 321, the isolation hole 63, and the second shoulder hole 421, and fixes the first clamp 30, the second clamp 40, the insulating head sleeve 20, and the isolation core 60 together, wherein the first clamp 30, the second clamp 40 and the master pin 80 form a main rotating pair that can rotate relative to the master pin.

[0037] like Figure 17 and Figure 18The drive assembly 5 further includes an inner insulating tube 59 covering the outer surface of the pull rod 57, and the functional assembly 2 further includes an outer insulating tube 19 covering the outer surface of the extension tube 18. Figure 18 As shown, the first drive shaft 331 of the first clamp 30 contacts and conducts with the first drive groove 512 of the first drive block, and then conducts with the pull rod 57 to form a first circuit; the second clamp 40, the main pin 6, and the second support arm 13 conduct, and then conduct with the extension tube 18 to form a second circuit. The isolation core 60, the third drive block 55, and the insulating headgear 20 constitute an insulation system that isolates the aforementioned first and second circuits. Compared with the existing technology of bipolar electrosurgical instruments, this design greatly simplifies the structure of the insulation system, thereby increasing the reliability of the conductive circuit and the reliability of the insulation isolation. While simplifying the insulation system, more space is left for the conductive circuit, thereby increasing the strength of the conductive components, improving the structural strength of the bipolar instrument, and enhancing its grasping, cutting, and pulling functions.

[0038] like Figure 18 and Figure 19 The handle assembly 3 includes a first handle 71, a second handle 72, and a handle shaft 73. The handle shaft 73 connects the first handle 71 and the second handle 72 together. The first handle 71 and the second handle 72 are rotatable relative to the handle shaft 73. The tube tail 181 is connected to the first handle 71, and the pull rod tail 571 is connected to the second handle 72. The first handle and the second handle rotate relative to each other to open or close, forcing the pull rod 57 to move relative to the extension tube 18, thereby forcing the drive assembly to move, thereby forcing the first drive pair and the second drive pair to move and rotate, thereby driving the main rotary pair to rotate, realizing the rotational closing or opening of the first chuck and the second chuck.

[0039] The first handle 71 further includes a first electrode 711 and a second electrode 712. The first electrode 711 is in contact with the pull rod 57 and is electrically connected, while the second electrode 712 is in contact with the extension tube 18 and is electrically connected. When the wires of the electrosurgical device are connected to the first electrode and the second electrode, the aforementioned first circuit and second circuit are connected to the electrosurgical device. When the tissue to be cut or coagulated simultaneously contacts the first clamp and the second clamp, the first circuit and the second circuit are connected, and current flows through the tissue between the first clamp and the second clamp. Under the action of the current thermal effect, the tissue is cut or coagulated.

[0040] This structural design effectively reduces costs, allowing the bipolar clip to be used only once, while the handle assembly can be reused. This ensures the reliability of electrosurgical performance, reduces costs, and is more environmentally friendly.

[0041] like Figure 18In one embodiment, the thickness of the first clamp tail is smaller than that of the first clamp shoulder, the thickness of the second clamp tail is smaller than that of the second clamp shoulder, and the minimum distance C1 between the first clamp tail and the second clamp tail is ≥ 1.0 mm. This design ensures that sufficient air gap is maintained between the first clamp tail and the second clamp tail as the first clamp and the second clamp open from closed to their maximum angle.

[0042] Combination Figure 5 , Figure 16 and Figure 18 It is understood that the shape and size design of the headgear flange 229 ensures that the minimum creepage distance D0 between the first arm 12 and the first clamp shoulder 32 (the first arm 12 and the first clamp tail 33) is ≥1.0 mm (not shown in the figure) during the process of the first clamp and the second clamp opening from closed to the maximum angle.

[0043] Combination Figure 7 , Figure 11 , Figure 12 , Figure 14 and Figure 18 In another embodiment, the shape and size design of the drive block flange 553 ensures that when the first and second clamps move from closed to open to their maximum angle, the creepage distance X0 between the first drive block and the second clamp shoulder, the first drive block and the second clamp tail, the second drive block and the first clamp shoulder, and the second drive block and the first clamp tail is ≥1.0mm (not shown in the figure).

[0044] Figures 20-22 The assembly relationship of another drive component 5a is described.

[0045] The drive assembly 5a includes a first drive block 51a, a second drive block 53a, and a third drive block 55a. The first drive block 51a and the second drive block 53a are made of metal conductors, and the third drive block 55a is made of plastic material. The third drive block 55a is disposed between the first and second drive blocks and connects them into one unit, while the first and second drive blocks are mutually insulated.

[0046] In one implementation, the first drive block 51a includes a first drive block head 511a and a first drive block tail 515a. The first drive block head 511a is provided with a first drive shaft 512a, and the first drive block tail 515a is provided with a first connecting groove 516a. The second drive block 53a includes a second drive block head 531a and a second drive block tail 535a. The third drive block tail 555a is provided with a first connecting block 556a and a second connecting block 557a extending laterally to both sides, respectively. The drive assembly 5 further includes an extension rod 57. The extension rod 57 includes a proximal extension rod tail 571, a distal extension rod head 573, and an extension rod bar 572 extending therefrom. The extension rod tail 571 includes a rod ring groove 574. The first drive block tail 515 includes a side extension block 519, and the pull rod head 573 is integrated with the side extension block 519.

[0047] like Figures 20-22 The first drive block 51a, the second drive block 53a, and the third drive block 55a can be connected into one piece by secondary injection molding, or by ultrasonic vibration welding, or by bonding with structural adhesives such as epoxy resin. In another embodiment, the third drive block 55a further includes a drive block through hole 559a penetrating the first connecting block 556a and the second connecting block 557a. The drive assembly 5a also includes a riveting pin 58 (not shown in the figure), which is riveted into the drive block through hole 559a, increasing the connection strength of the first drive block 51a, the second drive block 53a, and the third drive block 55a, while also increasing the shear strength of the first and second connecting blocks.

[0056] The insulating headgear 20 and insulating headgear 20a have similar beneficial effects. The insulating headgear 20 can be injection molded from a plastic material with good flowability (e.g., PC, ABS, PP, PE, etc.). The insulating headgear 20a can be injection molded or vacuum-formed from a plastic material with good flowability. Based on the insulating headgear 20 and insulating headgear 20a, those skilled in the art should readily understand that by adapting the shapes of the insulating headgear 20 and insulating headgear 20a, insulating headgear conforming to the insulation requirements of this invention can be manufactured using heat-shrink tubing, heat-shrink film, or ordinary film through heat molding. Various manufacturing methods for the insulating headgear are not described in detail here.

[0057] The insulating core 50 can be machined or injection molded from high-strength plastic materials such as nylon (PA), polyoxymethylene (POM), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), polysulfone (PSF), polyimide (PI), polyarylate (PAR), polyetheretherketone (PEEK), and fluoropolymers (PTFE, PVDF, PCTFE, PFA).

[0058] Those skilled in the art will understand that certain features described in this invention can be combined and recombined. For example, an insulating clamp sleeve and an insulating coating can be added simultaneously to the bipolar functional component 2; for example, an insulating head sleeve 20 can replace the insulating head sleeve 20b in the bipolar functional component 2c. Many more variations are conceivable. The terms "first" and "second" used herein are merely for distinguishing features and do not represent a sequential order. Furthermore, US patents US5489290, US5947996, US6340365, US7931667, US8551077, and US8926599 disclose various quick-connect and disconnect mechanisms for the core component and the reusable handle. These mechanisms, with slight modifications, can all be used for the connection between the bipolar core and the reusable handle of this invention. To date, many connection methods between the core and handle of minimally invasive surgical instruments have been disclosed in the field of minimally invasive surgical instruments. With slight modifications, these methods can all be used for the connection between the core component and the handle of this invention, and will not be exhaustive here.
