Technical Field
[0001] This invention relates to a printing apparatus. Background Technology
[0002] Various printing apparatuses have been used throughout history. Among them, there is a printing apparatus with an opening and closing cover and an operation panel arranged side by side. For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a liquid jetting apparatus with an opening and closing maintenance cover and an operation panel arranged side by side.
[0003] Patent Document 1: Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2020-104426 Summary of the Invention
[0004] In existing printing apparatuses with side-by-side opening / closing covers and operation panels, the opening / closing covers sometimes twist due to weight differences on the left and right sides when opened or closed, causing a portion of the cover to come into contact with the adjacent operation panel. This contact can potentially damage the operation panel. Furthermore, in structures such as the liquid jetting apparatus in Patent Document 1, which incorporate a maintenance cover as the opening / closing cover, there is a trend towards larger maintenance covers to facilitate maintenance, which can sometimes lead to twisting.
[0005] The printing apparatus of the present invention for solving the above-mentioned problems is characterized by comprising: a printing unit for printing on a medium; a frame for housing the printing unit; an opening / closing cover for opening and closing a portion of the frame; and an operation panel arranged side-by-side with the opening / closing cover in a parallel direction when the opening / closing cover is closed. The opening / closing cover has a first wall that is part of a wall on a first direction side of the frame, and a second wall that is part of a wall on a second direction side of the frame that intersects with the first wall. It is opened and closed by rotating using a rotation axis provided on the first wall and extending in the parallel direction. A contact portion is provided on the inner surface of the second wall of the opening / closing cover. The contact portion contacts a contacted portion provided on a portion of the frame or inside the frame when the opening / closing cover is closed, thereby displacing the opening / closing cover in a manner that separates it from the operation panel. [0012] First, the present invention will be described in summary.
[0013] The printing apparatus of the first aspect of the present invention for solving the above-mentioned problems is characterized by comprising: a printing unit for printing on a medium; a frame for housing the printing unit; an opening / closing cover for opening and closing a portion of the frame; and an operation panel arranged side-by-side with the opening / closing cover in a parallel direction when the opening / closing cover is closed.
[0014] According to this method, the opening / closing cover is provided with a contact part that, when the opening / closing cover is closed, contacts the contacted part, thereby displacing the opening / closing cover from the operation panel. Therefore, when the opening / closing cover is closed, it is possible to prevent the opening / closing cover, which is arranged side-by-side with the operation panel, from contacting the operation panel.
[0015] The printing apparatus of the second aspect of the present invention is a subordinate aspect of the first aspect, characterized in that the wall of the frame on the second direction side has an opening that is more extended in a direction opposite to the first direction compared to the position of the printing part, and the opening and closing cover is configured to cover the opening.
[0016] According to this method, the wall on the second direction side of the frame has an opening that is more extended in the direction opposite to the first direction compared to the position of the printing section. By providing such an opening structure, the opening can be enlarged, and the efficiency of the operation performed by opening and closing the cover can be improved. Furthermore, the cover is configured to cover the opening. Although such a cover is generally large and easily twisted, because it has a contact portion that, when closed, contacts the contacted part, causing the cover to displace in a manner separating it from the operation panel, it is possible to prevent the cover, which is positioned side-by-side with the operation panel, from contacting the operation panel when closed.
[0017] The third-party printing apparatus of the present invention is a method subordinate to the first method, characterized in that the opening and closing cover is made of resin.
[0018] According to this method, the opening and closing cover is made of resin. This structure allows for a lightweight construction of the opening and closing cover and improves the efficiency of operations performed by opening and closing it. Furthermore, although such opening and closing covers are generally prone to twisting, the presence of contact parts on the cover that allow it to displace from the control panel when closed by contacting the contacted parts prevents the opening and closing cover from contacting the control panel when it is positioned side-by-side with it.
[0019] The printing apparatus of the fourth aspect of the present invention is a type subordinate to the first aspect, characterized in that, in the second wall, the thickness of the second portion farther from the first wall is thinner than the thickness of the first portion closer to the first wall.
[0020] According to this method, in the second wall, the thickness of the second portion farther from the first wall is thinner than the thickness of the first portion closer to the first wall. By configuring it in this way, the opening and closing of the cover can be made easy.
[0021] The printing apparatus of the fifth aspect of the present invention is a type subordinate to the first aspect, characterized in that the contact portion is a protrusion that protrudes toward the contacted portion when the opening and closing cover is closed.
[0022] According to this method, the contact portion is a protrusion that extends toward the part to be contacted when the cover is closed. By providing such a structure, the contact portion can be easily constructed.
[0023] The printing apparatus of the sixth aspect of the present invention is a type subordinate to the fifth aspect, characterized in that the protrusion is a plate-shaped portion extending in the tangential direction of an arc centered on the rotation axis.
[0024] According to this method, the protrusion is a plate-shaped portion extending in the tangential direction of an arc centered on the rotation axis. With this structure, the contact portion and the contacted portion can make high-precision contact as the opening / closing cover closes. Therefore, when the opening / closing cover is closed, it is particularly effective to prevent the opening / closing cover, which is arranged side-by-side with the operation panel, from contacting the operation panel.
[0025] The printing apparatus of the seventh aspect of the present invention is a type subordinate to the sixth aspect, characterized in that the end of the plate-shaped portion in the tangential direction is tapered.
[0026] According to this method, the tangential end of the plate-shaped portion is tapered. By providing such a structure, when the contact portion comes into contact with the contacted portion during the closing of the opening / closing cover, situations such as snagging between the contact portion and the contacted portion can be suppressed. Therefore, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of improper opening / closing of the opening / closing cover.
[0027] The printing apparatus of the eighth aspect of the present invention is a type subordinate to the first aspect, characterized in that it includes a maintenance unit, and the opening and closing cover covers the maintenance unit in the closed state.
[0028] According to this method, a maintenance unit is provided. This structure allows the printing apparatus to be maintained in a suitable state. Furthermore, the opening / closing cover covers the maintenance unit when closed. By providing this structure and using the opening / closing cover as a maintenance cover, it is possible to increase the size of the opening / closing cover for easy maintenance. However, even with a larger opening / closing cover, the presence of a contact part within the cover that displaces the opening / closing cover from the operation panel when it is closed, by contacting the contacted part, prevents the opening / closing cover, which is positioned alongside the operation panel, from contacting the operation panel.
[0029] The printing apparatus of the ninth aspect of the present invention is a type subordinate to the first aspect, characterized in that the second wall is disposed on the side opposite to the operation panel in the side-by-side direction.
[0030] According to this method, the second wall is positioned on the side opposite to the control panel in the parallel direction. This structure effectively prevents the control panel from coming into contact with it when the control cover is closed.
[0031] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the figures, the X-axis is horizontal and represents the width of the printing apparatus 1; the Y-axis is horizontal and represents the front-back direction of the printing apparatus 1, and is orthogonal to the X-axis; and the Z-axis is vertical. Furthermore, in the following text, the direction in which the arrow points is designated as the "+" direction, and the direction opposite to the arrow point is designated as the "-" direction. For example, the vertical upward direction is designated as the "+Z" direction, the vertical downward direction as the "-Z" direction, the front direction of the printing apparatus 1 as the "+Y" direction, and the back direction of the printing apparatus 1 as the "-Y" direction.
[0032] like Figure 1 As shown, the printing apparatus 1 of this embodiment includes a frame 100, and leg frames 7 are mounted near both ends of the frame 100 in the X-axis direction. Small casters 13 are provided below the leg frames 7, allowing the printing apparatus 1 to be easily moved using the casters 13. Furthermore, the printing apparatus 1 of this embodiment includes a media supply unit (not shown) that holds media wound into a roll shape inside the frame 100. The media supply unit supplies media to a position opposite to the ink ejection surface 5A of the printing head 5.
[0033] Furthermore, at the location where the wall 100A on the first direction side (+Z direction side) of the frame 100 connects to the wall 100B on the second direction side (-X direction side) of the frame 100 and the wall 100C on the third direction side (+Y direction side) of the frame 100, an opening / closing cover 200 constituting a part of the wall 100A and a part of the wall 100B is provided. The structure of the opening / closing cover 200 and the structure of the inner side of the opening / closing cover 200 will be described later. In addition, an operation panel 300 is provided near the opening / closing cover 200, and the operation surface of the operation panel 300 is at approximately the same height as the wall 100A. Although the operation surface of the operation panel 300 mainly faces the +Z direction, the orientation of the operation surface can be changed. Furthermore, in this embodiment, the operation panel 300 is configured as a display device equipped with a touch panel. Therefore, the operation surface of the operation panel 300 is also a display surface, which displays various information.
[0034] The printing apparatus 1 of this embodiment includes: a head 5 serving as a printing unit, which has multiple nozzles on an ink ejection surface 5A, and ejects liquid ink from these nozzles to form an image; and a carriage 4 that mounts the head 5 and is capable of reciprocating in the width direction B. That is, the width direction B corresponds to the scanning direction of the carriage 4. A liquid supply channel (not shown), composed of pipes or the like, is connected to the head 5, and ink is supplied to the head 5 from multiple ink cartridges (not shown) mounted in the ink cartridge mounting unit 9 via the liquid supply channel (not shown). Furthermore, in the printing apparatus 1 of this embodiment, the transport direction of the medium at the position opposite the ink ejection surface 5A is the +Y direction, the movement direction of the head 5, i.e., the width direction B which is the scanning direction of the carriage 4, is along the X-axis, and the ink ejection direction is the -Z direction.
[0035] With the structure described above, the head 5 can reciprocate in the width direction B, which intersects the transport direction of the medium, while simultaneously ejecting liquid ink from the nozzles (not shown) onto the transported medium to form an image. The printing apparatus 1 of this embodiment can form a desired image on the medium by repeatedly performing the action of transporting the medium at a predetermined amount and, while the medium is stopped, moving the head 5 in the width direction B while ejecting ink. However, this structure is not limited to this; a so-called row head structure, etc., can also be used. This structure includes nozzles that eject ink along the width direction B and are arranged across the entire width of the medium.
[0036] As described above, the printing apparatus 1 of this embodiment includes a printing head 5 for printing on a medium and a frame 100 for housing the printing head 5. Furthermore, as... Figure 1 As shown, the device includes an opening / closing cover 200 comprising a portion of an opening / closing frame 100, and an operation panel 300 arranged side-by-side with the opening / closing cover 200 in the width direction B (parallel direction) when the opening / closing cover 200 is closed. The structure of the opening / closing cover 200 and the structure of its inner side will be described in detail below. Furthermore, the phrase "operation panel 300 arranged side-by-side with the opening / closing cover 200 in the width direction B (parallel direction) when the opening / closing cover 200 is closed" means that at least a portion of the opening / closing cover 200 and at least a portion of the operation panel 300 need to be arranged side-by-side. As described above, in this embodiment, the parallel direction of the opening / closing cover 200 and the operation panel 300 corresponds to the width direction B (X-axis direction).
[0037] like Figures 1 to 6As shown, the opening / closing cover 200 of the printing apparatus 1 in this embodiment has: a first wall 201, which is a part of the wall 100A on the first direction side (+Z direction side) of the frame 100; and a second wall 202, which is a part of the wall 100B on the second direction side (-X direction side) of the frame 100 that intersects with the first wall 201, and is provided on the side opposite to the operation panel 300 in the width direction B (-X direction side). Moreover, the opening / closing cover 200 of this embodiment is opened and closed by rotating in the rotation direction R via a rotation shaft 203 provided on the first wall 201 and extending in the width direction B.
[0038] In this embodiment, the opening and closing cover 200 has a groove on the inner surface of the second wall 202 of the opening and closing cover 200. Figures 4 to 6 The contact portion 210 is shown. (As shown) Figure 2 As shown, the frame 100 is provided with a contacted portion 110 that contacts the contact portion 210 when the opening / closing cover 200 is closed. From another perspective, the contacted portion 110 is provided on a portion of the frame 100. When the opening / closing cover 200 is closed, the contact portion 210 contacts the contacted portion 110, pressing the entire opening / closing cover 200 in the -X direction, thereby displacing the opening / closing cover 200 in a manner separate from the operation panel 300. From yet another perspective, the printing apparatus 1 of this embodiment has a contact portion 210 at a location different from the part of the opening / closing cover 200 that might contact the operation panel 300, so that the opening / closing cover 200 is displaced in a manner separate from the operation panel 300. Furthermore, preferably, the contact portion 210 and the contacted portion 110 are arranged in a positional relationship such that they do not contact each other when the opening / closing cover 200 is opened or closed, at least in the direction of contact with the operation panel 300, where there is no torsion of the opening / closing cover 200. Alternatively, the structure can be configured such that the positions of the contact portion 210 and the contacted portion 110 are opposite, with the contacted portion 110 provided on the opening / closing cover 200 and the contact portion 210 provided on a part of the frame 100.
[0039] Furthermore, in this embodiment, the second wall 202 with the contact portion 210 on the opening / closing cover 200 is located on a portion of the wall 100B on the -X direction side, and on the side opposite to the side where the operation panel 300 is disposed in the width direction B (-X direction side). However, the second wall 202 with the contact portion 210 may also be configured as a portion of the wall 100C on the third direction side (+Y direction side) of the frame 100. However, it is preferable that the second wall 202 with the contact portion 210 is located on the side opposite to the side where the operation panel 300 is disposed in the width direction B (-X direction side). This is because the opening / closing cover 200 can be displaced in a manner that separates it from the operation panel 300 particularly effectively, and the contact between the opening / closing cover 200 and the operation panel 300 can be suppressed particularly effectively when the opening / closing cover 200 is closed. Furthermore, although the contacted portion 110 of the printing apparatus 1 in this embodiment is provided on a part of the frame 100, it is not limited to such a structure. The contacted portion 110 may also be provided inside the frame 100 as a structural component different from the frame 100.
[0040] Preferably, a contact portion 210 is provided on the inner surface of the second wall 202 of the opening / closing cover 200. This contact portion 210 contacts a contacted portion 110 provided on a part of the frame 100 or inside the frame 100 when the opening / closing cover 200 is closed, thereby causing the opening / closing cover 200 to displace in a manner that separates it from the operation panel 300. With this structure, it is possible to prevent the opening / closing cover 200, which is arranged side by side with the operation panel 300, from contacting the operation panel 300 when the opening / closing cover 200 is closed.
[0041] like Figure 2 as well as Figure 3 As shown, in this embodiment, the printing apparatus 1 exposes a relatively wide opening 400 on the frame 100 by opening the opening / closing cover 200. The wall 100B of the frame 100 constituting the opening 400 extends deeper in the direction opposite to the first direction, i.e., in the -Z direction, compared to the position of the head 5. Here, as... Figure 1 As shown, the opening / closing cover 200 is configured to completely cover the opening 400.
[0042] Thus, by having the second-direction side wall 100B of the frame 100 have an opening 400 that is more extended in the -Z direction compared to the position of the head 5, the opening 400 can be enlarged, thereby improving the efficiency of the operation performed by opening and closing the cover 200. Furthermore, if the cover 200 is configured to cover a deeper opening 400 and is structured to be longer in the depth direction, the cover 200 will typically become larger and easier to twist. However, the cover 200 is provided with a contact portion 210 that, when closed, contacts the contact portion 110, causing the cover 200 to displace in a manner separating it from the operation panel 300. Therefore, when closing the cover 200, the possibility of the cover 200, which is arranged side-by-side with the operation panel 300, contacting the operation panel 300 can be prevented.
[0043] In this embodiment of the printing apparatus 1, the opening / closing cover 200 is made of resin. Thus, by making the opening / closing cover 200 of resin, the opening / closing cover 200 can be easily constructed, and the efficiency of operations performed by opening / closing the cover 200 can be improved.
[0044] Furthermore, although such resin-made opening and closing covers 200 are generally prone to twisting, the presence of a contact portion 210 in the opening and closing cover 200, which displaces the opening and closing cover 200 from the operation panel 300 by contacting the contact portion 110 when the opening and closing cover 200 is closed, prevents the opening and closing cover 200, which is arranged side-by-side with the operation panel 300, from contacting the operation panel 300. Here, "the opening and closing cover 200 is made of resin" means that as long as the opening and closing cover 200 is constructed using resin as the main material, it may also contain a small amount of materials other than resin, such as metal.
[0045] The interior of the opening / closing cover 200 becomes the standby position of the first 5 in the unprinted state, that is, the so-called initial position of the first 5, such as... Figure 2 As shown, a cover 404 is provided at a position opposite to the ink ejection surface 5A when the head 5 is in its initial position, covering the nozzles of the ink ejection surface 5A. Furthermore, a rinsing box 403 for rinsing is provided adjacent to the cover 404 on the -X direction side, and a suction cover 402 for suctioning the nozzles of the ink ejection surface 5A is provided adjacent to the rinsing box 403 on the -X direction side. Moreover, a degassing unit 405 for removing air bubbles from the ink is provided adjacent to the suction cover 402 on the -X direction side.
[0046] Furthermore, a cloth wiper 401 capable of wiping the ink ejection surface 5A is provided on the -X direction side of the degassing unit 405. The cloth wiper 401 can move along the Y-axis direction, and while moving along the Y-axis direction, it wipes the ink ejection surface 5A using a roll 401A of cloth wound into a roll shape. In addition, the initial position of the cloth wiper 401 is on the -Y direction side compared to the movement range of the head 5. If the opening and closing cover 200 is set to the open state when the head 5 moves to the -X direction side to the maximum extent, the ink ejection surface 5A can be visually confirmed from below through the opening 400, thereby enabling operations such as cleaning the ink ejection surface 5A with cotton swabs. To facilitate such operations, the opening 400 is opened to a relatively deep position in the -Z direction. In addition, the opening and closing cover 200 is a structure that allows the relatively wide opening 400 to be opened.
[0047] That is, the interior of the opening / closing cover 200 becomes the initial position of the head 5 and also the maintenance position for performing maintenance on the head 5. From another perspective, the opening / closing cover 200 of this embodiment is a maintenance cover that can be opened and closed by operators when performing maintenance on the head 5. Furthermore, by opening the opening / closing cover 200, the cloth wiper 401, suction cover 402, rinsing box 403, cover 404, and degassing unit 405, which are maintenance units, can also be replaced and cleaned.
[0048] From another perspective, the printing apparatus 1 of this embodiment includes a maintenance unit comprising a cloth wiper 401, a suction cover 402, a rinsing box 403, a cover 404, and a degassing unit 405, etc., and the opening / closing cover 200 is configured to cover the maintenance unit in the closed state. Thus, by including the maintenance unit, the printing apparatus 1 can be kept in a proper state.
[0049] Furthermore, in the printing apparatus 1 of this embodiment, a structure is provided that covers the maintenance unit when the opening / closing cover 200 is closed. In order to make it easier to perform maintenance work by opening a portion of the frame 100 covering the maintenance unit more open when the opening / closing cover 200 is opened, the opening / closing cover 200 is made larger. However, even though the opening / closing cover 200 is made larger, due to the structure described above, the opening / closing cover 200 is provided with a contact portion 210 that is displaced in a manner that separates the opening / closing cover 200 from the operation panel 300 when it comes into contact with the contact portion 110 when the opening / closing cover 200 is closed. Therefore, it is also possible to prevent the opening / closing cover 200, which is arranged side by side with the operation panel 300, from coming into contact with the operation panel 300 when the opening / closing cover 200 is closed.
[0050] As described above, the opening / closing cover 200 of this embodiment has a first wall 201 forming part of wall 100A and a second wall 202 forming part of wall 100B, but the second wall 202 has a first portion 202A closer to wall 100A and a second portion 202B farther from wall 100A. Furthermore, in the printing apparatus 1 of this embodiment, the second wall 202 is configured such that... Figure 4 The thickness L2 of the second portion 202B shown is thinner than the thickness L1 of the first portion 202A. By configuring the printing apparatus 1 in this embodiment with such a structure, the opening and closing cover 200 can be easily opened and closed. Furthermore, as an embodiment where "the thickness L2 of the second portion 202B is thinner than the thickness L1 of the first portion 202A," in addition to the first portion 202A and the second portion 202B having a stepped structure, it is also possible to configure a structure where the thickness gradually decreases from the first portion 202A to the second portion 202B.
[0051] Here, the shape of the contact portion 210 in this embodiment will be described in further detail. The contact portion 210 in this embodiment is a protrusion that protrudes toward the contacted portion 110 when the cover 200 is closed. By providing such a structure, the contact portion 210 in this embodiment can be easily constructed.
[0052] Furthermore, the contact portion 210 in this embodiment, which is a protrusion, is a plate-shaped structural member, i.e., a plate-shaped portion, extending in the tangential direction of an arc centered on the rotation axis 203 of the opening / closing cover 200. By providing such a structure, the contact portion 210 in this embodiment can make high-precision contact with the contacted portion 110 when the opening / closing cover 200 is closed. Therefore, the contact portion 210 in this embodiment is structured such that, when the opening / closing cover 200 is closed, it can particularly effectively suppress the situation where the opening / closing cover 200, which is arranged side-by-side with the operation panel 300, comes into contact with the operation panel 300. In addition, the contact portion 210 in this embodiment is provided on the inner surface of the second wall 202 such that, when the opening / closing cover 200 is closed, the surface of the plate-shaped portion extends intersecting the Y and Z directions.
[0053] In addition, such as Figure 4 as well as Figure 5As shown, in this embodiment, the end of the contact portion 210, which is a plate-like portion, tangentially to the arc centered on the rotation axis 203 of the opening / closing cover 200, is tapered 210A. In this embodiment, the portion near the center of the contact portion 210 protrudes most towards the contacted portion 110 relative to the tangential direction of the arc centered on the rotation axis 203, and tapered shapes 210A are arranged on both sides of the most protruding portion. By having such a structure, the contact portion 210 of this embodiment can suppress situations such as snagging between the contact portion 210 and the contacted portion 110 when the opening / closing cover 200 is closed and the contact portion 210 comes into contact with it. Therefore, the contact portion 210 of this embodiment has a structure that can suppress situations where the opening / closing cover 200 is not properly opened or closed.
[0054] Furthermore, in the printing apparatus 1 of this embodiment, the extension of the contact portion 110 in the -Z direction is adjusted to be shorter, thereby creating a structure in which the contact portion 210 and the contacted portion 110 are released when the opening / closing cover 200 is fully closed. Therefore, this results in a structure where the contact portion 210, which is in a non-contact state when the opening / closing cover 200 is opened from a fully closed state, will still come into contact with the contact portion 110. Because the printing apparatus 1 of this embodiment has such a structure, by making both ends of the contact portion 210 in the extension direction tapered 210A, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of poor opening / closing of the opening / closing cover 200 not only when the opening / closing cover 200 is closed, but also when the opening / closing cover 200 is opened from a fully closed state.
[0055] This invention is not limited to the embodiments described above, but can be implemented in various structures without departing from its spirit. Furthermore, in order to solve some or all of the above-described problems, or to achieve some or all of the above-described effects, the technical features in the embodiments corresponding to the technical features in the various embodiments described in the summary section can be appropriately replaced or combined.
