Tidal energy generation vessel and method

Abstract

This invention discloses a tidal power generation vessel and method, belonging to the field of tidal power generation technology. The power generation vessel includes a hull and a hull plate. The hull plate integrates a contraction-expansion (scaling-expansion pipe type) power generation device, which is sequentially arranged along the water flow direction as a contraction section, a throat power generation duct, and an expansion section. The single-sided cone angle of the contraction and expansion sections is 5° to 18°. This device is suitable for nearshore tidal conditions of 0.4 m / s to 0.8 m / s, and can accelerate the incoming current to the optimal working flow velocity of 6 m / s at the throat. It can stably start at 1 m / s and operate efficiently at 2 m / s, achieving bidirectional power generation, cavitation-free operation, and stable operation. The device can be integrated with catamarans, trimarans, or ordinary ships, combining floating support, power generation, and propulsion functions. It requires no dam construction, is low-cost, and eco-friendly. It is suitable for offshore aquaculture, operating platforms, and mobile power supply scenarios, and has high engineering application value.
