Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The utility model relates to the technical field of water electrolysis hydrogen production, in particular to a proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer and an assembly device thereof. Background Art
[0002] Hydrogen has the characteristics of high calorific value, no carbon emissions and no pollution in its reaction products after being used as fuel. It can be used as an energy storage material to connect the energy demand side and the energy supply side, and is considered to be an energy carrier with broad application prospects. Proton exchange membrane water electrolysis hydrogen production technology has the advantages of high working current density, high hydrogen production purity, compact structure, rapid start and stop, and fast dynamic response. It can well adapt to the volatility of renewable energy generation. While making full use of renewable energy resources, this technology can better help the electricity generated by solar and wind power to be integrated into the power grid, thereby realizing the "peak shaving and valley filling" of the power grid, and therefore has broad development prospects.
[0003] Since hydrogen has a small molecular weight and is very easy to leak, high requirements are placed on the assembly and sealing of the proton exchange membrane electrolyzer. At the same time, the various components of the proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer need to be positioned and placed on the assembly device during assembly, and the traditional external positioning method requires positioning in the four directions of front, back, left, and right, so at least four positioning guide rods are required. Although the internal positioning method requires at least two positioning guide rods, it is necessary to open a hole inside the flat plate, and the positioning hole will occupy the space that could have been used on the plane. In addition, the existing proton exchange membrane electrolyzer needs to be removed from the assembly device after assembly before it can be connected to the test device to detect the electrolytic performance. However, since the number of components of the electrolyzer is very large, if there are components with poor electrochemical performance in the assembled electrolyzer, it is necessary to re-install the electrolyzer into the assembly device, press it, and then remove the pre-tightening bolts. This process is very complicated, which reduces the work efficiency of the electrolyzer assembly and increases the labor cost. Utility Model Content

[0039] Combination Figure 1 , Figure 2 , Figure 5A proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer 1 is shown, which includes an upper insulating end plate 211, a cathode collector plate 212, a contact carbon paper 22, a plate membrane electrode assembly 4, an anode collector plate 24 and a lower insulating end plate 25, which are fastened together by an assembly component. The plate membrane electrode assembly 4 includes an upper hydrogen monopolar plate membrane electrode assembly 43, a plurality of stacked middle section core assemblies 42, and a lower monopolar plate assembly 41. The upper hydrogen monopolar plate membrane electrode assembly 43 includes a hydrogen monopolar plate assembly 431 and a membrane electrode 421, and the middle section core assembly 42 includes a bipolar plate assembly 5 and a membrane electrode 421. Sealing gaskets 23 are provided between the upper hydrogen monopolar plate membrane electrode assembly 43 and the adjacent middle section core assembly 42, between each middle section core assembly 42, between the lower monopolar plate assembly 41 and the adjacent middle section core assembly 42, between the hydrogen monopolar plate assembly 431 and the membrane electrode 421 in the upper hydrogen monopolar plate membrane electrode assembly 43, and between the bipolar plate assembly 5 and the membrane electrode 421 in each middle section core assembly 42. By arranging the sealing gaskets 23 at the above-mentioned positions, the sealing between the above-mentioned components in the proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer 1 can be effectively ensured.
[0040] In addition to the above-mentioned positions, a sealing gasket 23 is also provided between the upper insulating end plate 211 and the electrode membrane electrode assembly 4. One side of the sealing gasket 23 is in contact with the non-flow channel surface 43111 of the hydrogen monopolar plate assembly 431, and the other side is in contact with the upper insulating end plate 211. The contact carbon paper 22 is located in the porous conductive layer limiting hole 231 in the middle of the sealing gasket 23, and is respectively in contact with the non-flow channel surface 43111 of the hydrogen monopolar plate assembly 431 and the cathode collector plate 212.
[0041] Meanwhile, the specific configuration of the sealing gasket 23 is as follows: Figure 6 The membrane electrode 421 includes an anode porous transport layer 4211, an anode catalyst layer 4212, a proton exchange membrane 4213, a cathode catalyst layer 4214 and a cathode gas diffusion layer 4215 arranged in sequence; a porous conductive layer limiting hole 231 is provided in the middle of the sealing gasket 23; Figure 2 , Figure 3 One side of the sealing gasket 23 in the upper hydrogen monopolar plate membrane electrode assembly 43 is in contact with the cathode surface 512 of the hydrogen monopolar plate assembly 431, and the other side is in contact with the exposed portion 42131 of the proton exchange membrane 4213 in the upper hydrogen monopolar plate membrane electrode assembly 43. Figure 2 , Figure 5 , Figure 6 One side of the sealing gasket 23 between the upper hydrogen monopolar plate membrane electrode assembly 43 and the middle section core assembly 42 contacts the exposed portion 42131 of the proton exchange membrane 4213 of the upper hydrogen monopolar plate membrane electrode assembly 43, and the other side is in contact with the anode surface 511 of the middle section core assembly 42. Figure 5One side of the sealing gasket 23 in the middle section core component 42 is in contact with the exposed portion 42131 of the proton exchange membrane 4213 in the middle section core component 42, and the other side is in contact with the cathode surface 512 in the middle section core component 42. Figure 5 One side of the sealing gasket 23 between the two middle section core components 42 is in contact with the anode surface 511 of one of the middle section core components 42, and the other side is in contact with the exposed portion 42131 of the proton exchange membrane 4213 of the other middle section core component 42. Figure 5 One side of the sealing gasket 23 between the middle section core assembly 42 and the lower end monopolar plate assembly 41 contacts the exposed portion 42131 of the proton exchange membrane 4213 of the middle section core assembly 42, and the other side is in contact with the anode electrode surface 511 of the lower end monopolar plate assembly 41. The anode porous transport layer 4211 and the cathode gas diffusion layer 4215 of the membrane electrode 421 are respectively located in the corresponding porous conductive layer limiting holes 231 of the sealing gasket 23.
[0042] As for the setting of the limiting groove 331, combined with Figure 1 , Figure 2 and Figure 5 The limiting groove 331 is square and concave, and the limiting groove 331 is not arranged on the opposite sides of the proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer 1. Specifically, the limiting groove 331 is opened on both sides of the upper insulating end plate 211, the plate membrane electrode assembly 4, the sealing gasket 23, the anode collector plate 24 and the lower insulating end plate 25. Such a structure of the proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer 1 allows the subsequent assembly to be combined with Fig.11 , by embedding two square positioning guide rods 32 into the limiting grooves 331 of the components of the electrolytic cell, the positioning of the components of the electrolytic cell in the horizontal direction during stacking can be achieved. At this time, each square positioning guide rod 32 has three-sided contact with the components of the electrolytic cell, and the limiting in three directions is achieved. Compared with the traditional internal positioning method, since the limiting grooves 331 in this scheme are on both sides, the positioning structure will not occupy too much area inside the electrode plate, so that a larger available space can be reserved for the sealing groove cavity and the flow channel groove, which relatively saves the cost of the electrode plate processing material. Compared with external positioning, the present invention only needs two square positioning guide rods 32 to achieve positioning, and optimizes the structure of the assembly device. In addition, since the two limiting grooves 331 are not on the same central axis (i.e., not opposite) on the plane, the presence of the positioning guide rod 32 can provide additional support or restriction, which can prevent the components of the electrolytic cell from being deflected or tilted during the assembly process.
[0043] Combination Figure 1 , Figure 2 , Figure 3The upper insulating end plate 211 is provided with a water-oxygen inlet through hole 2111, a water-oxygen outlet through hole 2113, a hydrogen outlet through hole 2112, and a hydrogen end drainage through hole 2114 for installing a water-oxygen water inlet joint 13, a water-oxygen outlet joint 14, a hydrogen outlet joint 15, and a hydrogen end drainage joint 16, respectively. Figure 5 , Figure 6 The electrode plate membrane electrode assembly 4 and the sealing gasket 23 are respectively provided with a water-oxygen inlet main pipe hole 513, a water-oxygen outlet main pipe hole 514, a hydrogen outlet main pipe hole 515, and a hydrogen end drainage main pipe hole 516 which are connected with the water-oxygen inlet through hole 2111, the water-oxygen outlet through hole 2113, the hydrogen outlet through hole 2112, and the hydrogen end drainage through hole 2114. The water-oxygen inlet main pipe hole 513 is connected with the water-oxygen outlet main pipe hole 514 through a water flow groove 5111 on the electrode plate membrane electrode assembly 4 or on the anode surface 511 of the lower end monopolar plate assembly 41, and the hydrogen outlet main pipe hole 515 is connected with the hydrogen end drainage main pipe hole 516 through a gas flow groove 5121 on the electrode plate membrane electrode assembly 4 or on the cathode surface 512 of the hydrogen monopolar plate assembly 431.
[0044] On this basis, in order to further ensure the sealing performance, Figure 3 The lower surface of the upper insulating end plate 211 is provided with a sealing groove cavity 2115 around the water-oxygen inlet through hole 2111, the water-oxygen outlet through hole 2113, the hydrogen outlet through hole 2112, and the hydrogen end drainage through hole 2114. The sealing groove cavity 2115 has a sealing line 213 built in; combined Figure 7 and Figure 8 Anode sealing groove cavities 5113 are provided on the outer edges of both sides of each main pipe hole and water flow groove 5111 surrounding the anode electrode surface 511, and cathode sealing groove cavities 5123 are provided on the outer edges of both sides of each main pipe hole and air flow groove 5121 surrounding the cathode electrode surface 512. The anode sealing groove cavity 5113 and the cathode sealing groove cavity 5123 are respectively equipped with anode sealing lines 55 and cathode sealing lines 54. By setting the sealing lines, the sealing between the channels for circulating gas and liquid in the proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer 1 and other structures of the water electrolyzer can be effectively ensured.
[0045] Taking the bipolar plate assembly 5 as an example, the specific installation structure of the sealing line is as follows: Figure 7 , Figure 8The bipolar plate assembly 5 includes a bipolar plate body 51, an anode metal sheet 53, an anode sealing line 55, a cathode metal sheet 52, and a cathode sealing line 54. The anode metal sheet 53 is embedded in the anode metal sheet groove 5112 of the anode surface 511 of the bipolar plate body 51, the cathode metal sheet 52 is embedded in the cathode metal sheet groove 5122 of the cathode surface 512 of the bipolar plate body 51, and the anode sealing line 55 and the cathode sealing line 54 are respectively embedded in the anode sealing groove cavity 5113 and the cathode sealing groove cavity 5123. Figure 7 and Figure 8 The bipolar plate body 51 specifically includes an anode electrode surface 511 and a cathode electrode surface 512, and is provided with a water-oxygen inlet manifold hole 513, a water-oxygen outlet manifold hole 514, a hydrogen outlet manifold hole 515, and a hydrogen end drainage manifold hole 516. [0069] like Fig.14 A pressure regulating assembly 3181 is installed on the pressure regulating table 318. The pressure regulating assembly 3181 is connected to the cylinder air inlet and outlet 3146 through an air pipe.
[0070] The following is a method for manufacturing a proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer 1, which includes an assembly step, an air tightness detection step, and a preliminary electrolysis performance test step, as follows:
[0071] See Figure 2 , Figure 5 , Fig.12 and Fig.15 , the first step is the assembly process of the main body section 2. First, the end electrical complex 21 is hoisted on the upper end sealing plate 317 by a suspension rod 36 so that the end electrical complex 21 is fitted with the upper pad 35. The lower insulating end plate 25 is placed flat on the lower pad 33, and the anode collector plate 24 is placed on the lower insulating end plate 25. Next, the anode porous transport layer 4211 and the cathode gas diffusion layer 4215 moistened with deionized water are respectively adsorbed and placed on the anode pole surface 511 and the cathode pole surface 512 of each plate assembly, and their range is within the porous conductive layer limiting hole 231 of the sealing gasket 23 that is fitted with each plate assembly. On this basis, the components of the plate membrane electrode assembly 4 are stacked in the upper and lower order, and then a sealing gasket 23 and a contact carbon paper 22 are further placed on the non-flow channel surface 43111 of the hydrogen monopolar plate assembly 431, and the contact carbon paper 22 is located in the porous conductive layer limiting hole 231 of the sealing gasket 23. Finally, adjust the pressure regulating assembly 3181 to inflate the cylinder 314, and use the high pressure inside the cylinder 314 to extend the push rod 3144, push the push plate 316 to move upward along the positioning guide rod 32, and press the other components of the main body section 2 tightly against the end electrical union 21.
[0072] See Fig.15 , the second step is the air tightness detection process of the main body section 2. The water-oxygen outlet through hole 2113 and the hydrogen end drainage through hole 2114 of the end electrical combination 21 are sealed with a sealing cover 6, the water-oxygen inlet through hole 2111 is connected to the high-pressure air intake assembly 7, and the hydrogen outlet through hole 2112 is connected to the internal leakage outlet assembly 8. The high-pressure air intake assembly 7 is connected to the high-pressure gas with an air pipe, and the internal leakage outlet assembly 8 is connected to the water through the air pipe. Open the air intake valve 71 of the high-pressure air intake assembly 7, and fill the main body section 2 with high-pressure air. The high-pressure air will enter the water-oxygen inlet main pipe hole 513 from the water-oxygen inlet through hole 2111, and will be guided to the water-oxygen outlet main pipe hole 514 by the water flow groove 5111 of the anode surface 511 of each plate. After that, close the air inlet valve 71 of the high-pressure air inlet assembly 7 and wait for a while. If no bubbles are generated in the air pipe of the internal leakage outlet assembly 8 connected to the water and the pressure gauge 72 on the high-pressure air inlet assembly 7 does not decrease, it means that there is no internal gas leakage from the anode to the cathode in the main body section 2, and there is no leakage from the main body section 2 to the external environment. Therefore, it can be determined that the air tightness requirements of the main body section 2 are met.
[0073] The third step is the preliminary test process of the electrolytic performance of the body section 2. After the air tightness test is completed, there is no need to install the assembly screw 11 and the assembly nut 12, and the preliminary test of the electrolytic performance can be directly performed on the assembly device 3 to determine whether there are defects in the manufacturing process of each component, and the steps are as follows: first, the high-pressure air inlet component 7 at the water-oxygen inlet through hole 2111 is replaced with a water-oxygen water inlet joint 13, and the sealing cover 6 at the water-oxygen outlet through hole 2113 is replaced with a water-oxygen outlet joint 14, and respectively connected to the circulating water inlet pipe and outlet pipe of the water electrolyzer test system, and the internal leakage outlet component 8 at the hydrogen outlet through hole 2112 is replaced with a hydrogen outlet joint 15, and then connected to the hydrogen exhaust pipe of the water electrolyzer test system, and the positive and negative cables of the DC power supply of the water electrolyzer test system are tightly connected to the anode pole ear 241 and the cathode pole ear 2121 of the body section with bolts and nuts. Finally, deionized water is introduced into the anode side of the body section 2, and a direct current is applied to start electrolysis. The total voltage of the electrolytic cell body section 2 under different currents and the partial voltage between adjacent plates are monitored to see whether they are within a reasonable range, and whether the components of the body section 2 are qualified is further confirmed. If there is an abnormality in any component of the body section 2, the cylinder 314 is adjusted to the deflated state, the push plate 316 is lowered, the abnormal component is replaced, and the steps from the first step to the third step are repeated for testing.
[0074] When the preliminary electrolysis performance test of each component of the main body section 2 is qualified, remove the fluid pipelines and cables connected to the main body section 2 of the water electrolyzer test system; remove the suspension rod 36 connecting the end electrical union 21 and the upper end sealing plate 317, and further assemble the screw rod 11 and the assembly nut 12 to fasten the end electrical union 21 and the lower insulating end plate 25; adjust the pressure regulating assembly 3181 to deflate the cylinder 314, and the push plate 316 and the proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer 1 will descend accordingly; take out the positioning guide rod 32, and finally obtain the assembled proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer 1.
