[0001] Related applications
[0002] This application claims priority and benefit from Chinese Utility Application No. 202422397019.6, filed on September 30, 2024, the disclosure of which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety. Technical Field
[0003] This application generally relates to telecommunications equipment, and more specifically, to bracket assemblies and related antenna mounting assemblies. Background Technology
[0004] With the increasing demand for more wireless communications, the number of RF and antenna units traditionally supported by towers has increased and is expected to continue to increase. New towers need to be designed to support a greater number of antennas and RF units, while existing towers need to be modified to support more units and strive to make full use of the available space on the tower. An exemplary sector frame antenna mount assembly 10 is shown in Figures 1A-1B. The sector frame antenna mount assembly 10 includes a sector frame 20 for antenna mounting and an offset mount 30. The sector frame 20 includes a horizontal member (tube) 22 and a vertical member (tube) 24 that allow an antenna (not shown) to be mounted thereon. The offset mount 30 is configured (e.g., via mounting brackets or other fasteners 35) to be secured to the horizontal member 22 of the sector frame 20 and can be used to position and secure the sector frame 20 (and the antenna mounted thereon) at a distance from the mounting structure (not shown). The sector frame 20 may also include one or more return tubes 12 secured to the horizontal member 22 (via mounting brackets or other fasteners 15). See also, for example, U.S. Patent Nos. 9,812,762, 9,853,346, 10,122,064, 10,122,064, the disclosures of which are incorporated herein by reference in their entirety.
[0005] Vertical members 24 are secured to horizontal members 22 and spaced apart from each other at least a minimum distance along the length of horizontal members 22 to help mitigate or eliminate interference between antennas. Typically, horizontal members 22 and vertical members 24 are formed of steel and secured together via mechanical connections 20 (e.g., U-bolts, mounting brackets, or other steel connections). Mechanical connections 20 (e.g., U-bolts) provide sufficient clamping load to secure horizontal members 22 and vertical members 24 together to form antenna frame 30 and maintain the necessary structural support so that telecommunications equipment (e.g., antennas or radio devices) can be secured to antenna frame 30. However, the installation of these mechanical connections is complex and can be inefficient. Therefore, alternative mechanical connections may be needed to secure the cross members together. [0037] According to embodiments of the present invention, a bracket assembly is provided, the bracket assembly being configured to provide quick and easy fastening of a first (e.g., horizontal) member and a second (e.g., vertical) member of an antenna mounting assembly. According to embodiments of the present invention, the bracket assembly may also be adjustable to accommodate members with different diameter ranges. Reference will now be made to... Figure 2A-12C The embodiments of the present invention will be discussed in more detail below.
[0038] Now for reference Figure 2A-2B and Figures 3A-3B This illustrates a bracket assembly 100 according to an embodiment of the invention. According to an embodiment of the invention, the bracket assembly 100 is configured to secure a first member 22 (e.g., a rod, tube, or other similar member) to a second member 24 (e.g., a rod, tube, or other similar member) (see, for example, Figures 4A-4D and Figures 5A-5B In some embodiments, the first member 22 may be a horizontal or horizontally extending member, and the second member 24 may be a vertical or vertically extending member, such as the horizontal member 22 and vertical member 24 discussed above and shown in Figures 1A-1B. As used herein, the terms “horizontal” and “horizontally extending” mean substantially parallel to the ground plane, and the terms “vertical” and “vertically extending” mean substantially perpendicular to the ground plane. However, in some embodiments, the first member 22 or the second member 24 may not be oriented substantially horizontally or perpendicular to the ground plane. For example, in some embodiments, the bracket assembly 100 may be configured to secure a portion of the return pipe 12 or the offset mounting member 30 (see, for example, Figure 1A) to the first member 22 or the second member 24.
[0039] In some embodiments, the first member 22 and the second member 24 may form part of an antenna mount assembly, such as the sector frame antenna mount assembly 10 shown in Figures 1A-1B. However, this use is not limiting, and the bracket assembly 100 of the present invention can be used in other types of mount assemblies as a mechanical connection between the first member 22 and the second member 24. According to embodiments of the present invention, the bracket assembly 100 is configured to secure the two members 22, 24 together at locations where they overlap, cross, or otherwise intersect. According to another embodiment, the bracket assembly 100 of the present invention may be configured to be adjustable to accommodate different sizes (e.g., diameters) of the members 22, 24. In other words, the bracket assembly 100 of the present invention may be configured to secure members 22, 24 together within a certain diameter range (see, for example...). Figures 6A-6E and Figures 7A-7D ).
[0040] like Figure 2A-2B and Figures 3A-3B As shown, in some embodiments, the bracket assembly 100 includes a base member 110 and two clamping members 120. Each clamping member 120 is coupled to an opposite side of the base member 110 and configured to secure a first (e.g., horizontal) member 22 or a second (e.g., vertical) member 24 therebetween (see, for example,...). Figures 4A-4D and Figures 5A-5B In some embodiments, one or more components of the bracket assembly 100 may be formed of a metallic material (e.g., steel). In some embodiments, one or more of the metallic components of the bracket assembly 100 may be coated or covered with a polymer coating (e.g., rubber or plastic) to help minimize any passive intermodulation (PIM) that may arise from metal-to-metal contact between the bracket assembly 100 and members 22, 24. In other embodiments, one or more components of the bracket assembly 100 may be formed of a non-metallic material (e.g., polymer), thereby reducing metal-to-metal contact and also helping to minimize PIM.
[0041] In some embodiments, each clamping member 120 is pivotally coupled to a base member 110. In some embodiments, a shaft member 102 (e.g., a pin, rod, or similar member) is located at an end of each clamping member 120. In some embodiments, the shaft member 102 may define a pivot position 121 with respect to the base member 110. In some embodiments, a pair of arms 122 are located at an end of each clamping member 120. In some embodiments, the pair of arms 122 are spaced apart from each other and extend outwardly from the end of the respective clamping member 120. In some embodiments, each arm 122 includes an aperture 122a configured to receive the shaft member 102 therethrough. In other embodiments, the shaft member 102 may be integrally formed with an end of each clamping member 120 and extend between the pair of arms 122.
[0042] As described in further detail below, in some embodiments, the shaft member 102 is configured to engage with the base member 110 to form a pivot position 121 between the clamping member 120 and the base member 110. This allows the clamping member 120 to move (i.e., rotate or pivot) to an open position, such that a corresponding member (i.e., the first member 22 or the second member 24) can be positioned in the opening 115 between the clamping member 120 and the base member 110. Figure 2B As shown, in some embodiments, the opposite ends of each clamping member 120 include a recess 124. Each recess 124 is configured to receive a corresponding fastener 104 configured to secure the corresponding clamping member 120 in a closed position (i.e., once the corresponding members 22, 24 are positioned in the opening 115 between the clamping member and the base member 110) (see, for example, Figure 2A and Figures 3A-3B ).
[0043] Still referencing Figure 2B In some embodiments, the base member 110 includes a plurality of slotted recesses 112. In some embodiments, at least one slotted recess 112 is located on each opposite side of the base member 110. In some embodiments, each opposite side of the base member 110 includes a pair of adjacent slotted recesses 112 (e.g., an inner slotted recess 112a and an outer slotted recess 112b). Figure 2BAs shown, in some embodiments, each open end of adjacent slotted recesses 112 is positioned in opposite directions. In some embodiments, slotted recesses 112 are configured to receive a corresponding shaft member 102 (i.e., allowing clamping member 120 to engage with base member 110) to form a pivot position 121 with the corresponding clamping member 120. As described in further detail below, in some embodiments, adjacent slotted recesses 112 allow adjustment of the position of the corresponding pivot position 121 between the clamping member 120 and the base member 110, thereby allowing the bracket assembly 100 to accommodate different sizes (e.g., diameters D1, D2) of the first member 22 and / or the second member 24.
[0044] In some embodiments, the base member 110 further includes a pair of housing cavities 114, each housing cavity 114 having a corresponding orifice 114a (see also...). Figures 6A-6B Each cavity 114 and corresponding aperture 114a are configured to receive a corresponding fastener 104. As discussed above, in some embodiments, each fastener 104 is configured to engage with a corresponding clamping member 120 to secure the clamping member 120 relative to the base member 110 in a closed position to secure a corresponding first member 22 or second member 24 therebetween (see, for example, Figure 2A and Figures 3A-3B ).like Figure 2B As shown, in some embodiments, fastener 104 may be a T-bolt. In other embodiments, fastener 104 may be a ball-end fastener. In some embodiments, the cross ends of the T-bolt fastener 104 (or the ball of the ball-end fastener) are configured to remain within the housing cavity 114 of the base member 110 when the opposite ends extend through the corresponding orifice 114a, to engage and secure to the corresponding clamping member 120 via the connecting members 106 (e.g., washers and nuts).
[0045] In some embodiments, each clamping member 120 may have an arcuate or convex shape or profile, and the corresponding side of the base member 110 may have an arcuate or concave recess or profile 113. As discussed above, each clamping member 120 and the base member 110 together define an opening 115 configured to receive corresponding members 22, 24 between the clamping member and the base member. In some embodiments, the configuration of the corresponding sides (i.e., the corresponding convex and concave profiles) of the clamping member 120 and the base member 110 allows the bracket assembly 100 to have a larger contact surface area to engage with the outer diameter of the corresponding members 22, 24 held therebetween, i.e., when the clamping member 120 is pivoted relative to the base member 110 to a closed position.
[0046] like Figures 3A-3BAs shown, in some embodiments, each clamping member 120 may further include an additional aperture 120a. In some embodiments, the additional aperture 120a may be located approximately centrally between opposite ends of the clamping member 120. In some embodiments, the additional aperture 120a may be configured to receive a fastener 108 that engages or contacts a corresponding member 22, 24 held between the clamping member 120 and the base member 110. In some embodiments, the fastener 108 may help to further secure the corresponding member 22, 24 between the clamping member 120 and the base member 110, and may also help to minimize longitudinal movement of the corresponding member 22, 24 relative to the bracket assembly 100. In some embodiments, the aperture 120a may also serve as an indicator to help locate the position on the corresponding member 22, 24 where the clamping member 120 should be secured. For example, in some embodiments, the aperture 120a may serve as a visual “window” to help locate a positioning mark on the corresponding member 22, 24 that identifies the position where the clamping member 120 is secured.
[0047] Figures 4A-4D A mechanical connection assembly 200 according to an embodiment of the invention is shown, wherein the bracket assembly 100 of the invention is used to secure the first (e.g., horizontal) member 22 to the second (e.g., vertical) member 24 when the first member 22 and the second member 24 have a first diameter D1. In some embodiments, the diameter D1 of the members 22, 24 may be about 2.875 inches or greater. Figures 4A-4D As shown, in some embodiments, the pivot position 121 of the clamping member 120 can be positioned relative to the base member 110 in the outer slotted recess 112b (of the adjacent slotted recess 112). In other words, the shaft member 102 of the corresponding clamping member 120 is positioned within the outer slotted recess 112b of the base member 110, thereby positioning the clamping member 120 so that the bracket assembly 100 of the present invention can accommodate members 22, 24 having a (larger) diameter D1.
[0048] like Figures 4A-4D As further shown, the clamping member 120 is secured in a closed position relative to the base member 110 via fasteners 104 and connecting members 106, thereby securing the respective members 22, 24 between the clamping member 120 and the base member 110 of the bracket assembly 100. As shown, the end of each fastener 104 is received in a corresponding recess 124 in the clamping member 120, and the connecting member 106 is tightened thereon to secure the end of each clamping member 120 against the base member 110. Optionally, in some embodiments, another fastener 108 may be inserted into an opening 120a in the respective clamping member 120 to further secure the respective members 22, 24 between the clamping member 120 and the base member 110.
[0049] Figures 5A-5B Another mechanical connection assembly 200' according to an embodiment of the present invention is shown, wherein the first member 22 and the second member 24 have a smaller second diameter D2 (i.e., have a smaller diameter than the second member 24). Figures 4A-4D When the diameter D1 of the components 22 and 24 shown is smaller than the diameter D2 (D2 < D1), the bracket assembly 100 of the present invention is used to secure the first (e.g., horizontal) component 22 to the second (e.g., vertical) component 24. In some embodiments, the diameter D2 of the components 22 and 24 may be about 2.375 inches or less. According to embodiments of the present invention, as Figures 5A-5B As shown, the mechanical connection assembly 200' and Figures 4A-4D The difference in the mechanical connection assembly 200 shown is that the pivot position 121 of the respective clamping member 120 is now positioned relative to the base member 110 in an inner slotted recess 112a (of the adjacent slotted recess 112). In other words, the shaft member 102 of each clamping member 120 is positioned within the corresponding inner slotted recess 112a of the base member 110, thereby positioning the clamping member 120 so that the bracket assembly 100 of the present invention can accommodate members 22, 24 having a (smaller) diameter D2.
[0050] Similar to mechanical connection component 200, such as Figures 5A-5B As further shown, in the mechanical connection assembly 200', the clamping member 120 is secured in a closed position relative to the base member 110 via fasteners 104 and connecting members 106, thereby securing the corresponding members 22, 24 between the clamping member 120 and the base member 110 of the bracket assembly 100. As shown, the end of each fastener 104 is received in a corresponding recess 124 in the clamping member 120, and the connecting member 106 is tightened thereon to abut against the base member 110 to secure the end of the clamping member 120. As described herein, optionally, in some embodiments, another fastener 108 may be inserted into an aperture 120a in the corresponding clamping member 120 to further secure the corresponding members 22, 24 between the clamping member 120 and the base member 110 (similar to...). Figures 4A-4D The mechanical connection assembly 200 shown.
[0051] Figures 6A-6E The illustration shows exemplary steps of mounting the bracket assembly 100 of the present invention together with a first (e.g., horizontal) member 22' and a second (e.g., vertical) member 24' having a (smaller) diameter D2. Figure 6A The bracket assembly 100 is shown in the closed and locked position. (See diagram.) Figure 6AAs shown, the shaft member 102 of the clamping member 120 is positioned within a corresponding inner slotted recess 112a of the base member 110, and the clamping member 120 pivots relative to the base member 110 (about pivot position 121), and the opposite ends of the clamping member 120 are secured to the base member 120 via fasteners 104 and connecting members 106.
[0052] like Figure 6B As shown, to secure the bracket assembly 100 to the first member 22', the coupling member 106 is first released, which allows the fastener 104 to move (e.g., pivot) away from the recess 124 in the end of the clamping member 120 in a first direction P1. As described herein, in some embodiments, the fastener 104 may be a T-shaped rocker bolt (or a ball-end fastener) that allows one end of the fastener 104 to remain (e.g., within the housing cavity 114) engaged with the base member 110 while the opposite end of the fastener 104 moves (pivots) away from the recess 124 in the clamping member 120. Once the end of the fastener 104 is removed from the recess 124 in the clamping member 120, the clamping member 120 is able to rotate (pivot) in a counterclockwise direction P3 (i.e., about the pivot position 121) and move the opposite end of the clamping member 120 a distance G from the base member 110 (see also). Figure 6C In some cases, the user may place their fingers over the inner slotted recess 112a to help prevent the shaft member 102 of the clamping member 120 from moving away from the recess 112a when the clamping member 120 is rotating about the pivot position 121 (pivoting).
[0053] like Figure 6C As shown, the clamping member 120 continues to rotate (pivot) counterclockwise in the direction P3 about the pivot position 121 until the opposite end of the clamping member 120 has moved a sufficient distance G from the base member 110, such that the first member 22' can be received within the opening 115 between the clamping member 120 and the base member 110. In some embodiments, the first member 22' may be positioned within the opening 115 such that at least a portion of the first member 22' contacts the concave side 113 of the base member 110.
[0054] like Figure 6DAs shown, after the first member 22' is positioned within the opening 115 (and abuts against the base member 110), the clamping member 120 rotates (pivots) about the pivot position 121 in the opposite (i.e., clockwise) direction P4 to the closed position. Then, the fastener 104 moves (e.g., pivots) in the second opposite direction P2 until the end of the fastener 104 is received within a recess 124 in the end of the clamping member 120. Once the fastener 104 is positioned within the recess 124 of the clamping member 120, the corresponding coupling member 106 is tightened thereon to secure the end of the clamping member 120 to the base member 110 in the closed and locked positions. Figure 6E As shown, according to an embodiment of the invention, with respect to another clamping member 120, the second member 24' can be secured to the bracket assembly 100 by following the same steps as described above with respect to securing the first member 22' to the bracket assembly 100.
[0055] Figures 7A-7D This illustrates how the bracket assembly 100 is adjustable so that members 22, 24 with a larger diameter (e.g., D1) can be secured together. Figure 7A Showing the closed and locked positions (similar to) Figure 6A The bracket assembly 100 (as shown in the starting position). Figure 7A As shown, the shaft member 102 of the clamping member 120 is positioned within a corresponding inner slotted recess 112a of the base member 110, and the clamping member 120 pivots relative to the base member 110 (about pivot position 121), with the opposite end of the clamping member 120 secured to the base member 120 via a fastener 104 and a connecting member 106. The connecting member 106 disengages, allowing the fastener 104 to move (e.g., pivot) away from the recess 124 in the end of the clamping member 120 in a first direction P1. As described herein, in some embodiments, the fastener 104 may be a T-bolt or a ball-end fastener, which allows one end of the fastener 104 to remain engaged with the base member 110 (e.g., within the housing cavity 114) while the opposite end of the fastener 104 moves out (pivots) away from the recess 124 in the clamping member 120.
[0056] like Figure 7B As shown, once the fastener 104 is removed from the recess 124 in the clamping member 120, the clamping member 120 can be disengaged from the base member 110 by moving (e.g., lifting) the shaft member 102 of the clamping member 120 away from the inner slotted recess 112a in the first direction D1. The clamping member 120 can be re-engaged to the base member 110 by inserting the shaft member 102 of the clamping member 120 into the outer slotted recess 112b of the base member 110 (see, for example...). Figure 7CMoving the shaft member 102 from the inner slotted recess 112a of the base member 110 to the outer slotted recess 112b causes the pivot position 121 of the clamping member 120 to move outward relative to the base member 110. This increases the size of the opening 115 between the clamping member 120 and the base member 110, and thereby allows the bracket assembly 100 to accommodate larger diameter (e.g., D1) members 22, 24.
[0057] like Figure 7C As shown, once the clamping member 120 re-engages with the base member 110, similar to what is described herein, the clamping member 120 is capable of rotating (pivoting) in a counterclockwise direction P3 (i.e., about pivot position 121) to move the opposite end of the clamping member 120 to an open position. The clamping member 120 is opened a sufficient distance from the base member 110 so that the first member 22 can be received within a larger opening 115 between the clamping member 120 and the base member 110. In some embodiments, the first member 22 may be positioned within the opening 115 such that at least a portion of the first member 22 contacts the concave side 113 of the base member 110.
[0058] like Figure 7D As shown, after the first member 22 is positioned within the opening 115 (and in some embodiments, against the base member 110), the clamping member 120 rotates (pivots) about a pivot position 121 in the opposite (i.e., clockwise) direction P4 to a closed position. The fastener 104 then moves (e.g., pivots) in a second opposite direction P2 until at least a portion of the fastener 104 is received within a recess 124 in the end of the clamping member 120. Once the fastener 104 is positioned within the recess 124 of the clamping member 120, a corresponding coupling member 106 is tightened thereon to secure the end of the clamping member 120 to the base member 110 in the closed and locked position. According to an embodiment of the invention, with respect to another clamping member 120, the same steps described above with respect to securing the first member 22 to the bracket assembly 100 can be followed to secure the second member 24 to the bracket assembly 100 (and to the first member 22).
[0059] Now for reference Figures 8A-8B An alternative bracket assembly 100' according to an embodiment of the present invention is shown. The characteristics and / or features of the bracket assembly 100' can be described above with reference to the bracket assembly 100 described herein, and for the purpose of discussion... Figures 8A-8B The purpose of this study can be omitted from repeated discussion in this paper.
[0060] In some embodiments, the bracket assembly 100' differs from the bracket assembly 100 described herein in that it has an alternative configuration for a pivot position 121' between the clamping member 120 and the base member 110'. For example... Figures 8A-8B As shown, in some embodiments, the base member 110' may have adjacent orifices 122a', 122b' instead of adjacent slotted recesses 112a, 112b. Similar to the slotted recesses 112a, 112b described herein, adjacent orifices 122a', 122b' are configured to receive shaft members 102, 102', which will allow the clamping member 120 to rotate (or pivot) relative to the base member 110'.
[0061] Additionally, similar to the slotted recesses 112a, 112b, adjacent orifices 122a, 122b' allow the pivot position 121' between the clamping member 120 and the base member 110' to be adjustable, thereby allowing the bracket assembly 100' to accommodate different sizes of the first members 22, 22' (e.g., horizontal members) and / or the second members 24, 24' (e.g., vertical members) (e.g., ranges of diameters D1, D2). In other words, the shaft members 102, 102' can be inserted through corresponding inner orifices 122a' in the base member 110' to accommodate members 22', 24' with smaller diameters (e.g., D2), or through corresponding outer orifices 122b' in the base member 110' to accommodate members 22, 24' with larger diameters (e.g., D1). In some embodiments, the shaft members 102, 102' can be similar to the shaft member 102 described with respect to the bracket assembly 100 (see, for example...). Figure 2B ).
[0062] In some embodiments, the bracket assembly 100' may include an alternative shaft member 102'. For example, as... Figures 8A-8B As further shown, in some embodiments, the alternative shaft member 102' is a pin-type fastener, wherein the shaft member 102' has an aperture 102a' configured to receive a pin fastener 108. After the shaft member 102' is inserted through corresponding apertures 122a', 122b' in the base member 110', the pin fastener 108 is received through aperture 102a' in the shaft member 102' to secure the clamping member 120 to the base member 110' and form a pivot position 121' therebetween.
[0063] Now for reference Figures 9A-9B This illustrates another alternative bracket assembly 100'' according to an embodiment of the invention. The characteristics and / or features of the bracket assembly 100'' can be described above with reference to the bracket assemblies 100, 100' described herein, and for the purpose of discussion... Figures 9A-9B The purpose of this study can be omitted from repeated discussion in this paper.
[0064] In some embodiments, the bracket assembly 100'' differs from the bracket assemblies 100, 100' described herein in that it has an alternative configuration for a pivot position 121'' between the clamping member 120' and the base member 110''. For example... Figures 9A-9B As shown, in some embodiments, the shaft members 102, 102' of the bracket assemblies 100, 100' described herein are replaced by protruding members 116'' that are coupled to and extend outward from the base member 110''. As described in further detail below, the protruding members 116'' are configured to engage with the end of the clamping member 120'' to form a corresponding pivot position 121'' between the clamping member 120'' and the base member 110''.
[0065] like Figures 9A-9B As shown, in some embodiments, a pair of arms 122' are located at the end of each clamping member 120'. The pair of arms 122' are spaced apart from each other and extend outward from the end of the respective clamping member 120'. In some embodiments, each arm 122' includes two pairs of hooks or similar features 126a', 126b'. The paired hooks 126a', 126b' are configured to engage with a protruding member 116'' extending from the base member 110'' to form a respective pivot position 121'' between the clamping member 120' and the base member 110''. Figures 9A-9B As further shown, similar to the clamping member 120 described herein, in some embodiments, each clamping member 120' has a recess 124' at its opposite end, the recess being configured to receive a corresponding fastener 104 (e.g., a T-bolt or ball-end fastener) configured to secure the corresponding clamping member 120' in a closed position.
[0066] like Figures 9A-9BAs shown, in some embodiments, the pairs of inner hooks 126b' and the pairs of outer hooks 126a' of the respective clamping member 120' are configured to engage with the corresponding protruding member 116'' on the base member 110''. According to embodiments of the invention, the paired hooks 126a', 126b' of the clamping member 120' and the protruding member 116'' in the base member 110' can function in a similar manner to the shaft members 102, 102' and the slotted recesses 112a, 112b or orifices 122a', 122b' of the bracket assemblies 100, 100' described herein, to allow the corresponding pivot position 121'' between the clamping member 120' and the base member 110'' to be adjustable, thereby allowing the bracket assembly 100'' to accommodate different sizes of the first (e.g., horizontal) members 22, 22' and / or the second (e.g., vertical) members 24, 24' (e.g., ranges of diameters D1, D2). For example, in some embodiments, a pair of inner hooks 126b' of the respective clamping member 120' are configured to engage with a respective protruding member 116'' extending from the base member 110'' to accommodate members 22', 24' having a smaller diameter (e.g., D2), or a pair of outer hooks 126a' of the clamping member 120' are configured to engage with the protruding member 116'' to accommodate members 22, 24 having a larger diameter (e.g., D1).
[0067] Now for reference Figures 10A-10B and Figure 11A-11B This illustrates another alternative bracket assembly 300 and a corresponding antenna mount assembly 400, 400' according to an embodiment of the invention. The characteristics and / or features of the bracket assembly 300 and the antenna mount assembly 400, 400' can be as described above with reference to the bracket assemblies 100, 100', 100'' and / or antenna mount assemblies 200, 200' described herein, and for the purpose of discussion... Figures 10A-10B and Figure 11A-11B The purpose of this paper is to omit the repeated discussion of these objectives.
[0068] like Figure 10A As shown, in some embodiments, the bracket assembly 300 includes a base member 310 and two clamping members 320. Each clamping member 320 is coupled to an opposite side of the base member 310 and configured to secure a first (e.g., horizontal) member 22 or a second (e.g., vertical) member 24 therebetween (see example...). Figure 11A-11BSimilar to other bracket assemblies 100, 100', 100" described herein, in some embodiments, one or more components of bracket assembly 300 may be formed of a metallic material (e.g., steel). In some embodiments, one or more of the metallic components of bracket assembly 300 may be further coated or covered with a polymer coating (e.g., rubber or plastic) to help minimize metal-to-metal contact that may occur between bracket assembly 300 and members 22, 24 (e.g., in...). Figure 11A-11B Any passive intermodulation (PIM) generated in the antenna mount assemblies 400, 400' shown. In other embodiments, one or more components of the bracket assembly 300 may be formed of a non-metallic (e.g., polymeric) material, thereby reducing metal-to-metal contact and also helping to minimize PIM.
[0069] In some embodiments, each clamping member 320 is pivotally coupled to the base member 310. As further discussed below, the bracket assembly 300 differs from the bracket assemblies 100, 100', 100" described herein in that the bracket assembly 300 has an alternative configuration for a pivot position 321 between the clamping member 320 and the base member 310. In some embodiments, a shaft member 302 (e.g., a pin, rod, or similar member) is located at the end of each clamping member 320. In some embodiments, the shaft member 302 may define the pivot position 321 with respect to the base member 310. In some embodiments, a pair of arms 322 are located at the end of each clamping member 320. In some embodiments, the pair of arms 322 are spaced apart from each other and extend outwardly from the end of the respective clamping member 320. In some embodiments, each arm 322 includes an aperture 322a configured to receive the shaft member 302 therethrough. In other embodiments, the shaft member 302 may be integrally formed with the end of each clamping member 320 and extend between the pair of arms 322.
[0070] The shaft member 302 is configured to engage with the base member 310 to form a pivot position 321 between the clamping member 320 and the base member 110. This allows the clamping member 320 to move (i.e., rotate or pivot) to an open position, such that a corresponding member (i.e., the first member 22 or the second member 24) can be positioned in the opening 315 between the clamping member 320 and the base member 310. Figure 10A As shown, in some embodiments, the opposite ends of each clamping member 320 include a recess 324. Each recess 324 is configured to receive a corresponding fastener 304 configured to secure the corresponding clamping member 320 in a closed position (i.e., once the corresponding members 22, 24 are positioned in the opening 315 between the clamping member and the base member 310) (see, for example, Figure 11A-11B ).
[0071] like Figures 10A-10B As shown, in some embodiments, the base member 310 includes a pair of arcuate grooves 312. In some embodiments, the arcuate grooves 312 may have a “U” or “J” shape. In some embodiments, the arcuate grooves 312 are located on opposite sides of the base member 310. Each arcuate groove 312 is configured to receive a corresponding shaft member 302 (i.e., allowing the clamping member 320 to engage with the base member 310) to form a pivot position 321 with the corresponding clamping member 320. As described in further detail below, in some embodiments, the shaft members 302 are configured to slide within their respective arcuate grooves 312 to allow adjustment of the position of the respective pivot position 321 between the clamping member 320 and the base member 310, thereby allowing the bracket assembly 300 to accommodate different sizes (e.g., diameter D) of the first member 22 and / or the second member 24. P1 D P2 (See example,) Figure 11A-11B Additionally, such as Figures 10A-10B As shown, unlike the slotted recesses 112a, 112b of the bracket assembly 100, the arcuate groove 312 of the bracket assembly 300 is "internal" (i.e., without an open end), which secures the shaft member 302 of the clamping member 320 within the groove 312 while still allowing movement of the shaft member 302 (and the clamping member 320), and thus prevents the clamping member 320 from falling off the bracket assembly 300 during installation.
[0072] Still referencing Figure 10A In some embodiments, the base member 310 further includes a pair of housing cavities 314, each housing cavity 314 having a corresponding orifice 314a. Each cavity 314 and corresponding orifice 314a is configured to receive a corresponding fastener 304. As discussed above, in some embodiments, each fastener 304 is configured to engage with a corresponding clamping member 320 to secure the clamping member 320 relative to the base member 310 in a closed position to secure a corresponding first member 22 or second member 24 therebetween (see, for example, Figure 11A-11B ).like Figure 10A As shown, in some embodiments, fastener 304 may be a T-bolt. In other embodiments, fastener 304 may be a ball-end fastener. In some embodiments, the cross ends of the T-bolt fastener 304 (or the ball of the ball-end fastener) are configured to remain within the housing cavity 314 of the base member 310 when the opposite ends extend through the corresponding orifice 314a, to engage and secure to the corresponding clamping member 320 via the connecting members 306 (e.g., washers and nuts).
[0073] In some embodiments, each clamping member 320 may have an arcuate or convex shape or profile, and the corresponding side of the base member 310 may have an arcuate or concave recess or profile 313. As discussed above, each clamping member 320 and the base member 310 together define an opening 315 configured to receive corresponding members 22, 24 (see also, for example, ...) between the clamping member and the base member. Figure 11A-11B In some embodiments, the configuration of the corresponding sides (i.e., the corresponding convex and concave profiles) of the clamping member 320 and the base member 310 allows the bracket assembly 300 to have a larger contact surface area to engage with the outer diameter of the respective members 22, 24 held therebetween, i.e., when the clamping member 320 is pivoted relative to the base member 310 to a closed position. In some embodiments, the inner surface of the clamping member 320 and / or the corresponding surface of the base member 310 may include a protrusion or other similar feature 313 configured to facilitate gripping the respective members 22, 24 held therebetween.
[0074] The first (e.g., horizontal) member 22 and the second (e.g., vertical) member 24 may use the bracket assembly 300 to work with the components described herein. Figures 6A-6E They are secured together in a similar manner as shown. For example, the shaft member 302 of the clamping member 320 is positioned at a desired location within a corresponding arcuate groove 312 of the base member 310, and the clamping member 320 pivots relative to the base member 310 (about pivot position 321), and the opposite ends of the clamping member 320 are secured to the base member 320 via fasteners 304 and connecting members 306, thereby securing the corresponding members 22, 24 between the clamping member and the base member. As described above, the shaft member 302 is held "inside" within the arcuate groove 312 and therefore will not fall off the bracket assembly 300 during installation.
[0075] like Figure 11A-11B As shown, the position of the shaft member 302 within the groove 312 can be varied according to the size (e.g., diameter) of the corresponding vertical members 22 and 24. For example, as Figure 11A As shown, when components 22 and 24 have a first diameter D P1 At this time, the shaft member 302 can move (slide) within the arcuate groove 312 in the first direction F1 (e.g., toward the base member 310), so that the shaft member 302 is positioned closer to the base member 310 within the groove 312. Figure 11B As shown, when components 22 and 24 have a second diameter D P2At this time, the shaft member 302 can move within the arcuate groove 312 in a second opposite direction F2 (e.g., away from the base member 310), such that the shaft member 302 is positioned within the groove 312 away from the base member 310. In some embodiments, the second diameter of members 22, 24 is larger than the first diameter of members 22, 24. In some embodiments, the shaft member 302 moves within the groove 312 in a first direction F1 (e.g., away from the base member 310). Figure 11A As shown in the diagram), to accommodate a first diameter D of approximately 2.375 inches. P1 Components 22 and 24. In some embodiments, shaft component 302 moves within groove 312 in the second direction F2 (e.g. Figure 11B As shown in the diagram), to accommodate a second diameter D of approximately 2.875 inches. P2 Components 22 and 24.
[0076] When the fastener 304 is positioned within the recess 324 of the clamping member 320, and the corresponding connecting member 306 is tightened thereon to secure the end of the clamping member 320 to the base member 310 in the closed and locked positions, a gap G may exist between the end of the clamping member 320 and the base member 310. Figure 11A-11B As further shown in the diagram, in some embodiments, the distance D of the gap G is... G They can be approximately equal, and the diameter D of the members 22 and 24 held between the clamping member 320 and the base member 310 is approximately equal. P1 D P2 Irrelevant. In other words, in some embodiments, when the members 22, 24 held therebetween have a first diameter D P1 Or the second (larger) diameter D P2 At that time, the distance D between the ends of the base member 310 and the clamping member 320 is... G They will be approximately equal.
[0077] Now for reference Figures 12A-12C This illustrates another bracket assembly 300' and a corresponding antenna mount assembly 400' according to an embodiment of the present invention. The bracket assembly 300' provides an alternative construction to the bracket assembly 300 described herein. Therefore, the characteristics and / or features of the bracket assembly 300' and the antenna mount assembly 400'' can be as described above with reference to the bracket assembly 300' and / or the antenna mount assembly 400' described herein, and for the purpose of discussion... Figures 12A-12C The purpose of this paper is to omit the repeated discussion of these concepts.
[0078] like Figures 12A-12CAs shown, in some embodiments, the bracket assembly 300' differs from the bracket assembly 300 described herein in that at least one of the clamping members 320 (e.g., clamping member 320 configured to engage with vertical member 24) is replaced by a fastener 305 to secure the bracket assembly 300' to the respective members 22, 24.
[0079] In some embodiments, the base member 310' of the bracket assembly 300' includes a central aperture 310' extending therethrough. The central aperture 310' may be configured to receive a fastener 305 to secure the bracket assembly 300' to corresponding members 22, 24. In some embodiments, the fastener 305 may be a hex bolt or other similar fastener. In some embodiments, the fastener 305 is configured to insert through a corresponding hole 25 in the corresponding members 22, 24. The fastener 305 is tightened with a connecting member 306 (e.g., a washer and a nut) to secure the bracket assembly 300' to the corresponding members 22, 24 (see also, Figure 12B-12C In some embodiments, fastener 305 replaces clamping member 320 that secures bracket assembly 300' to vertical member 24. Figure 12B-12C As shown, the bracket assembly 300' also includes a clamping member 320 for securing the bracket assembly 300' to another (e.g., horizontal) member 22 in a manner similar to that described herein with respect to the bracket assembly 300.
[0080] Furthermore, similar to the bracket assembly 110 described herein, in some embodiments, the clamping member 320 may include an additional aperture 320a. In some embodiments, the additional aperture 320a may be located approximately at the center between opposite ends of the clamping member 320. In some embodiments, the additional aperture 320a may be configured to receive a fastener (not shown) that engages or contacts corresponding members 22, 24 (see, for example, ...) held between the clamping member 320 and the base member 310. Figure 4B In some embodiments, fasteners may help to further secure the respective members 22, 24 between the clamping member 320 and the base member 310, and may also help to minimize longitudinal movement of the respective members 22, 24 relative to the bracket assembly 300'. In some embodiments, the aperture 320a may also serve as an indicator to help locate the position on the respective members 22, 24 where the clamping member 320 should be secured. For example, in some embodiments, the aperture 320a may serve as a visual "window" to help locate positioning marks on the respective members 22, 24 that identify the position where the clamping member 320 is secured.
[0081] Figure 12B-12CAnother antenna mounting assembly 400" according to an embodiment of the present invention is shown, wherein the bracket assembly 300' is secured to the vertical member 24 with fasteners 305 and to the horizontal member 22 with clamping members 320. Note that, although not shown, in some embodiments, the bracket assembly 300' may be secured to the vertical member 22 with clamping members 320 and to the horizontal member 22 with fasteners 305.
